Please read the full Unlocking Agreement:
"Thank you for supporting Huawei Device products. Huawei Device has granted bootloader unlocking permission for its latest mobile phones, tablets and official firmware. Unlocking the bootloader enables you to flash third-party firmware to your device.
However, unlocking the bootloader carries the following risks:
1.Huawei ensures that product hardware and software are optimized for your device, but after you unlock the bootloader, Huawei cannot guarantee optimum performance or that all functions will operate normally.
2.Most third-party firmware has not been adequately tested and has poor compatibility with Huawei devices, which will affect your device’s stability or even cause damage to your device’s hardware. For example, some firmware may result in excessive power consumption that reduces your device’s standby time and battery lifespan, or the RF performance of your device may be impaired, which may lead to network search failure or poor call quality. Some firmware may even prevent your device from starting and you will not be able to restore the system, meaning that your device will be rendered unusable.
3.Third-party firmware may be vulnerable to malicious software attacks. For this reason, data security cannot be guaranteed. For example, your personal data such as contacts, messages, and location data may be disclosed. Malicious software may also send SMS messages to subscribe to paid services or make calls in the background, incurring inadvertent charges. Malicious software may even be used by others to monitor your device.
4.Some functions will no longer work after you unlock the bootloader. For example, you will no longer be able to use Digital Rights Management (DRM) keys and digital content that you have purchased. Upgrading software using Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) or a microSD card may fail or your device may not function properly after upgrading.
Unlocking the bootloader may result in unpredictable consequences for your device, including but not limited to those listed above. The user shall be held responsible in the event that the device malfunctions and cannot be recovered. Huawei will record your unlock request information; for software and hardware failures arising as a result of unlocking the bootloader, Huawei repair centers can provide repair services charged at the standard rate for repair work outside the scope of the warranty."
What do we do with the Unlock code? Is there a computer program needed to unlock? I have code but am not sure what to do with it now.

Every time I have logged into the Huawei site, things look slightly different. I assume they are updating things. However, I cannot get to the unlock agreement. I visit the link to the EMUI global site, I click unlock the bootloader, then it no longer asks for my ID. Instead it comes up with a "Create Nickname" page. No matter what I enter, it says "HWLOGIN_NICKERROR". Hopefully someone else has run into this and can redirect me to the right location.
Thanks in advance!

Everything was in English for me. Maybe use Google translate?
I just click the link in OP and I go straight to page in English. Click unlock bootloader.
Then Log in next screen (or register with email if you haven't already). Do the unlock bootloader agreement.
Then complete form where you put S/N IMEI and more. Good luck
I keep getting this error screen after logging in once I press the unlock boot loader link. I have tried on multiple devices, browsers all the same thing. I made sure to select English as language as well.
Any ideas?

I get the same thing. Ran Chrome Google Translate on it, but it's just a server message about being busy.
@wimbet can you provide any info on this or maybe give us a rough ETA of when the server will be available so we can unlock our devices? Thanks.
Click on Unlock Bootloader and takes me to login page. Username and password don't work. Try to retrieve password and get " No security email address, phone number, or question has been set." I can login into the honor 5x club site just fine. Try to re-register and it says my email address is already in use, but I can't get access. Very odd.
Still having the same issue here.
Seems like their website may have been down for 2+ days now. That really makes me want to unlock the bootloader and get the hell out of their software ecosystem that much quicker.

I had the same problem. Website would switch back to Chinese, and when I tried to go back to English I got the home screen or server busy (in Chinese). I finally just let it stay in Chinese and matched the fields with the English screen shot in the TWRP thread and I got through it and got the code. Have another problem with my phone's boot loader but that's for another thread.

I'm in California (USA) - I used Chrome on a Linux Mint system. Some of the site was in English and some was in Chinese.
Q: where to find "Product Serial number" ?
Related
All Honor devices currently shipped with a locked bootloader. As long as manufacturers provide a way to unlock, then we're down with that - it helps keep your device secure and means that if you lose it, it's harder for people to steal your data (the process of unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone).
There are two ways to unlock your Honor phones bootloader, which will then allow you to install things like custom recoveries, custom kernels / ROMs etc. The first is using the official Honor method, which is free, and the second is using a third party, which costs €4 Euros, but may be the quickest option if the official method isn't working for you.
The official method
In order to unlock your Honor device using the official method, complete the following steps:
Visit https://www.emui.com/en/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail and either create a new account or login with an existing Huawei account.
In the form displayed after logging in, enter:
Your phone model (KIW-L21 for the Honor 5X)
Your phone serial number (this can be found in Settings -> About -> Status)
Your phone IMEI1 (this can be found in Settings -> About -> Status)
Your phone product ID (to find this, open the dialler and enter *#*#1357946#*#*)
The captcha code
Press the 'Submit' button.
At this point you will either be provided with a code, or you will receive an error such as 'The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days.' If you get the error, you will need to use the unofficial method below.
Open a command window on your PC / Mac, which needs to have 'adb' and 'fastboot' installed from the Android SDK.
Enable USB debugging by tapping the build number in Settings -> About 5 times, then going back and selecting the option from the Development menu.
Enable OEM unlock in the Development menu.
Connect your phone to the PC and approve the security prompt on the device screen.
In the command window on your PC / Mac, enter 'adb reboot bootloader' to enter fastboot mode'.
In the command window on your PC / Mac, enter 'fastboot oem unlock [insertnumberhere]', of course using the number provided by the Huawei site.
YOUR PHONE WILL WIPE ITSELF AT THIS POINT!
That's it! You're done!

The unofficial method
In order to unlock your Honor device using the unofficial method, if for example you receive the '14 day' error from the Huwei site, complete the following steps:
On a Windows PC, download and install DC-unlocker from https://www.dc-unlocker.com/.
On your phone, enter Manufacturer Mode - open the dialler and enter *#*#2846579#*#*. In the app that then opens, select Project Menu -> Background settings -> USB ports settings -> Manufacturer Mode.
Download the Huawei driver pack from https://files.dc-unlocker.com/share.html?v=share/88D4A98C154D4E19AF9D4A1EF09BA620.
Install the Huawei driver pack by extracting the file you just downloaded (using WinRAR or similar) and running 'DriverSetup'
After installing the driver pack, connect your phone to the PC. In Device Manager, after the automated driver install, you should have no 'Unknown Devices'.
Launch the previously downloaded DC-unlocker application.
From the drop down lists, select 'Huawei Phones' and 'Auto Detect Model'.
Press the magnifying glass icon - the app will then search for your phone.
You should see an image like the one below showing your phone is found. At this point, press the 'Buy Credits' option to set up your DC-Unlocker account and purchase the 4 credits required for code retrieval (this will cost €4). You can also do this directly from the DC-Unlocker website.
After your credit purchase is complete, click the 'Server' section and enter your new DC-unlocker login details. Press 'Check Login' to validate the details (if the server is busy, this may take multiple attempts).
Click the 'Unlocking' section, and click 'Read Bootloader Code'. Do NOT click 'Unlock'. Again, if the server is busy, this may take multiple attempts. The white area of the app will now display the bootloader code. Screen grab this just in case!
Open a command window on your PC, which needs to have 'adb' and 'fastboot' installed from the Android SDK.
In the command window on your PC / Mac, enter 'fastboot oem unlock [insertnumberhere]', of course using the number provided by the DC-Unlocker process.
YOUR PHONE WILL WIPE ITSELF AT THIS POINT!
That's it! You're done!

Unlocking the bootloader will not void your warranty, and yes you will get OTAs
If you flash a custom recovery and root, THAT will void your warranty and you will not be able to get OTAs unless you relock the bootloader and go back to stock everything

For Linux users (Mint 17.3 in my case), right after adb reboot bootloader, watch when the phone restarts, I had to unplug usb cable.
Only then my phone was recognized with sudo fastboot devices. After plugging the cable back in, ofcourse.
It was also nowhere to be found in lsusb.
Before that I could not do fastboot oem unlock..
EDIT: Just flashed TWRP, problem seems to be in front usb panel on my pc case.
When I plug phone in the back of my pc, works fine.
Hey Paul, many thanks for the tip (and your wealth of contributions over the years)!
Can you comment on how pernicious the server busy thing is with DC Unlocker?
It's annoying, but persist and it's fine.

The last lines say that you will be held accountable for things broken as a result of unlocking your bootloader - (and I quote) in the event that it cannot be recovered.
That's pretty standard language and it doesn't say specifically that "unlocking your bootloader voids your warranty" - because consumer protection laws vary a lot by country.
It does say that if you brick your phone and it can't be recovered you're going to be charged.
Anything that can be disputed in a gray area they'll probably put on you. But I don't know that because I'm not a lawyer and if I were, I'm not your lawyer.

Meanwhile, after weeks of having even the Chinese site time out on one of my other Huaweis (my honor5x is already unlocked) I tried DC Unlocker and it worked just fine - five of my friends tried it and they're happy too. Many thanks for the tip, Paul!

Well yeah brother you are right.
Now second thing, except very rare case like HTC are unlocked by revolutionary methods apart from HTC dev, and being a device most of em apart from 2-3 each and every company which provides official way of unlocking does not support opening bootloader without voiding warranty. Once you go to official way you probably loose warranty except some developer edition devices. So there is no need to be my lawer lol...

To relock the phone you can re flash a stock firmware but that doesn't change anything as you'll get a "relocked" status when the normal bootloader status should be "locked".

Did you check your USB notification to ensure that it was not used for charging only? Before and after the Manufacture Mode, tap Files in the USB notification, and then select in DC-Unlocker:
Huawei Phones and Auto Select
Also, I had made both $0.99 purchases within the DC-Unlocker Android app which gave me a User and Password in an email that I was able to input into the Server section of the Windows DC-Unlocker app under Unlock which may have helped.
Once the device is found in the lower left, choose Read Bootloader Code and DO NOT select Unlock in the upper right. Paste the Bootloader Code at the end of your "fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

You have to put your device in bootloader mode (switch it off, plug it to your computer, and press Power + Volume down at the same time). Once you're in DL mode, enter the command "fastoot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxx" xxxx = your code.
Before you do this, enable "OEM unlocking" in Developer options.

So by following above process and bootloader unlocked means you're rooted? (sorry for the dumb question, I am not an expert)

No by following that process you will have an unlocked bootloader enabling you to install custom recovery and then root. Follow this thread and the instructions for unlocking your bootloader, installing TWRP, and then rooting your phone. Please read the first post thoroughly and then proceed with everything https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3515617

Confused with how to order this thing. It talks about credits?? Also is the program a Windows program? Only?
Is the program compatible with MHA-L29? I can see the MHA-L29B on the website, but I would like to know if it will work for mine. I mainly am concerned with the relocked to locked option of the program

from my past experience with them, you do not need to use their software, once you have the unlock code you are good to go.

download the file here and unzip freemyzenpad.7z

enable usb debug mode, connect your usb cable to Z580
run root.bat
follow the steps , after it's done, install magisk manager, voila, rooted!
Just got a ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA) PO1MA.
Downloaded and Unzipped FreemyZenpad
I have a Manjaro KDE computer
Ran root.bat in terminal
The entire script ran all at once without actually doing any of the stuff the strings said.
I tried to boot the TWRP shakalaca made, "sudo fastboot boot twrp.img" but the tablet said the command was stubbed and wouldn't let me. My research taught me that means the bootloader was locked.
In my other attempts to root/install custom recovery and ROM and unlock the bootloader,
I tapped Build Number 7x to enable Developer Options
There's no OEM unlocking in the Developer Options of this tablet
I eventually reached out to Asus customer service about this
They provided the link: https://dlcdnimgs.asus.com/websites/server_500.html
(EDIT 12/25/21: This link never came back up. I called customer service. After getting hung up on the first time, and transferred to a supervisor the second time, I was told ASUS does not help OEM unlock their devices. The suggested I tried 3rd party software, which I already did without success)
And said, "You would need to download the bootloader for your device from your support page in order to unlock the OEM. The support page for your device is currently undergoing updates. I would advise that you check the support page in the next 1-2 hours for the bootloader."
And, "If you are unable to access it via that link later, you can type ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA) - Support in your web browser."
I asked, "What do I do with the bootloader once I download t?"
They replied, "You will need to follow the instructions to set up the unlock tool.
Before you download, install, and use the Unlock Device App you acknowledge and assume complete risk to the quality and performance of this App, including but not limited to the following: once you activate the App you will not be able to recover your ASUS product (“Original Product”) back to original locked conditions;the Original Product with the activated App will not be deemed the Original Product; the Revised Product will no longer be covered under the warranty of the Original Product; the software of Revised Product will no longer be deemed the software of the Original Product and can no longer receive ASUS software updates; your purchased digital content may also be affected.
You also acknowledge ASUS does not guarantee service satisfaction to any Revised Product, including events involving paid service requested by you to be performed to the Revised Product.
Furthermore, such repaired Revised Product will not be covered under the warranty of the Original Product; the software of the repaired Revised Product will not be deemed the software of the Original Product and will not receive ASUS software updates.
It is strongly advised that you avoid activating this App unless you fully understand and accept the risks that may arise."
Edit I'll keep checking if the link they sent me is back up.)

Quick and simple bc after sifting through this website I accidently figured it out. First use the script from this post - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-pure-debloat.4157691/ then check dev options and OEM unlocking should be ungreyed out. Grab your oneplus unlock by running this command - "fastboot oem get_unlock_code" Then go to - https://www.oneplus.com/unlock_token submit your token and serial number and wait exactly one week to the day. Download this tool https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ck-twrp-factory-image-stock-recovery.3358711/ and you can unlock the bootload with your unlock.bin file. After that whats next is up too you!
I don't know about SIM unlocking, however I did figure out which package specifically enables the toggle for OEM unlocking in the Developer Options.
So I took a look at the debloat thread linked above and I went through the list of packages and I was uninstalling them on my phone one by one until I found the one that enabled the toggle for OEM unlocking in the Developer Options.
When I uninstalled the package com.qualcomm.qti.uim, the toggle for OEM unlocking was no longer greyed out.
That's a great find. Is it enough to simply force-stop the package or does it need to be disabled/uninstalled?
Might try this on the OP9 or OP10 if I get one.

I didn't see if force stopping it worked or not so I wouldn't be able to answer that. I just uninstalled it with adb.
Title of tread said sim-unlocking, after reading through, it only mentions bootloader unlocking via the OnePlus website and all in one flashing tool. Yes it may bypassed the carrier restriction for bootloader unlocking, but is the phone actually sim unlocked? As you can use it with another carrier?
But I agree, finding out com.qualcomm.qti.uim being the toggle for bootloader unlock is great find.
I disabled com.qualcomm.qti.uim via ADB myself and while 'OEM Unlocking" is no longer grey and you can enable the option the bootloader for me is still locked. My OnePlus 8T model is through T-Mobile

gotta complete the whole process homie.. AFTER doing the uninstall or disable of com.qualcomm.qti.uim, then you gotta flip the toggle and then reboot to bootloader. after that you need to run the fastboot command, "fastboot oem get_unlock_code"... copy that code to your clipboard, then go to the Oneplus website, fill out the form and paste that code in the proper field.
After that it does take exactly one week... (to the minute) and you will need to go back to this site and you will see it change to download. Download that file and flash it via fastboot, then confirm you want to unlock and its done!
Now after that you have to remember to NEVER flash a stock firmware via fastboot again, otherwise you will re-lock your bootloader. I cannot confirm whether or not you will be able to, or even need to flash the unlock token again, but in the case of Samsung phones, when you flash the bootloader unlock token, you DO NOT get a second chance. If you unlock it once, and then accidently re-lock via flashing stock, you will be stuck with a locked bl. (EDIT: you CAN flash stock with samsung, as long as the bootloader version isnt changed. If you upgrade the BL then you are stuck!)
(Now theres a simpler way around all this but you must do your research, and look into converting your TMO-US fw to TMO-EU ... this can be done without unlocking the bootloader. And after the conversion, if you disable the OP mentioned file, you can simply toggle, and run the "fastboot oem unlock" command and thats it... no token file needed! And i am in Texas, so i can confirm 100% that ALL of the bands are active and available, and i get 5g with absolutely no problem... In fact my phone runs quicker and gets better battery life on the EU fw. )
Then when your phone is fully paid off, simply flash back to the US fw and you can have them Sim unlock you and you can either go thru the normal unlocking process, or you can go back to the EU... but either way no foul, no harm!
So to get T-Mobile to do it on their end do this.
Go on their site and facebook, keep telling them this. "I'm a developer who can't develop app's on my device, can you please allow my phone to be unlocked." Most will tell you it needs to be paid off, but you quite possibly will get that disgruntled worker or guy who just doesn't care. Took me 5 tries, then the guy I got was like, "okay I'll do it for you!" #boomdone

I have had this same issue. I bought the 8T+5G from OnePlus online store TMobile version (because the unlocked versions were sold out). Been back and forth betwee TMobile and OnePlus for 4 days, and OnePlus finally says they nor Tmobile can unlock the device until it has been used on Tmobile's service for 45 days (part of the unlock policy). I knew this, but thought surely someone can help me. OnePlus assured me that the IMEI number does not enter into the system as an unlockable phone until after the 45 days, and that NOBODY can unlock the phone until then... Am I screwed for 40 more days???? This in my opinion is a scam to force people to use a service they may not want.

Yeah. I'm going to wait it out. Counting down the days I'm chained to T-Mobile (38 left). I actually wanted their service so it isn't an inconvenience, but I hate being forced to do anything, much less wait to do what I wanted to do from day one, which is Flash Roms. I'm looking at Lineage too. So I will update this post once I get to that point. Here's hoping they keep their word, because my 15 day return policy on the phone runs out in two days.
Alright folks I've been with Samsung over a decade and just got my first Oneplus (8T+5G KB2007) so don't start yelling at me just yet. Got this thing on Amazon and appears to be new. I'm sim/network unlocked through TMO. My OEM Unlock was never greyed out. I can toggle no problem. However, I went through the debloat described above because of the following problem: Sticks on "waiting for any device" after running "fastboot oem get_unlock_code" Please tell me this is an easy fix. I already reinstalled the google driver through SDK Manager bla bla bla.... Am I missing something simple? Any help would be appreciated. THX

I should've done more research myself. Galaxy was about to quit on me so I grabbed this one specifically because it was rated as one of the very top phones for development. If it wasn't such a rush I would've spent more time.

Have you checked if your phone is properly connected to your computer? Check using "fastboot devices" to see if your device is detected, and if it is not, then go within the Windows Device Manager and install the appropriate driver from Google, which can be found by searching "Google Fastboot Driver".

So it was actually 40 days, I don't know why I said 45. Anyway, even after (48 days), it took me calling TMOBILE and having someone talk to their (OEM team) and start a conversation with them. 3 days later I was able to SIM unlock the phone. I was able to toggle OEM unlocking. Did the Fastboot command to get the Unlock Code, and sent it to OnePlus for "7 days". What the crap is all of this hassle? I left Android and went to Apple for 7 years. When I left, you could unlock a bootloader in minutes. For being so keen on allowing us to unlock our phones, it seems they give you a Circus of Hoops to jump thru "on Their timeline". Anyway, I actually think I may have screwed up the code because it was displayed on two lines from Fastboot. I sent it as one line. Hoping they sort it out and I don't have to reapply and wait another 7 days. What a mess!
