NST/G - LatinIME.apk - mod for replace some keys in layout - Nook Touch General

I would like to ask how to achieve "esc" or "ctrl" keys from this onscreen keyboard.
I know so "ctrl" can be chosen from menu appear when touch scren above keyboard.
It will be possibe to modify some files inside this app to swap unused buttons for more wanted ones?
Or change to other app like HackersKeyboard?
EDIT: I was found replacement in HackersKeyboard installation.

You could use a USB keyboard on Glow2, 3, 4 or a Bluetooth keyboard on Glow4.

I was thinking of using an on-screen keyboard on NST/NSTG.
Currently using HackerKeyboard app and find issues with key like "ctrl" - which cannot be 'hold' to press ^C.
It may be question of using regular rather than multitouch supporting kernel.

NST does USB too (I forget if it needed a modified kernel).
All the Nooks work best with back-powering hubs.
I doubt that the NST supports AoA (Android silly reverse accessory), but I should check the Glows.

I was thinking about unpacking, change and repacking modded LatinIME.apk

If this is a fixed setup, you might be better off just using an actual USB keyboard.
ebay also has 7" HDMI for RPi for $35.
(I checked, the Glow2 5.0 acknowledges the AOA 2.0 protocol but doesn't actually do anything.)

qwerty keyboard in context

Hi
Just got a Dual 20 key, I noticed that sometimes you get a full qwerty touch keyboard (1 key per letter) say in contacts for narrowing the search, but when entering email etc you get the qwerty/20 key.
I see people recommending things like Pocket CM keyboard, but clearly the same capability is already built in, but cannot find a way to make the fully qwerty appear in text entry areas?
Any ideas?
+1
I'm interested in this too !
Same here in on the dual 16 key.
I want to use a software keyboard with Vito SMS chat because the hardware slide keypad wont work and the software touch pad wont work either.
The only way is the touch keyboard, but it shifts from the full qwerty to the 20 key, whilst the 20key also wont work with the ap :-( How do you shift from both?
+1... How to??

Emulate mouse Touchpad using the Touch Sensitive area under screen - Possible?

Any developers or Moderator Developers have any idea of whether this is being developed?
Just thought it would be very useful for controlling the Mouse in RDP on Diamond and Touch Pro Devices!
It would basically function in the same way as a Laptop TrackPad!!
Any takers!
Off Topic!

Am still totally blown away by the Guy at MicroPC Talk that modded his Sony UX from a core 2 solo 1500 to a CORE2DUO!!!!!!!! (u7600)
Wish I had the balls to try something like that on mine!

I've been looking for this too. I used to have this app for my palm years ago but cant find anything like it anywhere these days :s
I use to have it in my samsung i780 (blackjack II). Is near recent so maybe it's possible to extract the driver. This function is controled with the optical black square pad in top of the keyb.

I don't have it now because I changed it for the Diamond, but maybe you can find some one who have it and gives you the diver for investigation.
Hope was usefull.

Galaxy Tab 10.1v Keyboard

Hi There!
I have tried to use the built in onscreen keyboard for this tablet, and I hate it, then I tried swype, my keyboard of choice on the Galaxy S2 I have, and it's horrible too. Can someone suggest some other alternatives?
thumb keyboard! I love it!! Has all the customizations and features you need!
I'll second that
I've been using SwiftKey Tablet X from day one of owning my Tab, It works great. It has a bunch of great features like the ability to switch back and forth between a thumb style keyboard to a standard style keyboard. It also supports alot of different language packs and different keyboard layouts like "qwerty"..."azetry"... And so on. Great preemptive text and spell checking. You can change the theme on it on the fly and comes with 3 preinstalled. It's well worth the 3x or so in the market. And you can check their web site, from time to time they open up the beta group to new members.
Here's a few screen shots of it.
Thumb style layout:

Standard "qwerty" layout:
And one of the different themes:
I've been using SwiftKey keyboard on my eVo4g now for a few months and it was one of the first apps I downloaded when I got my Tab.
Sent from my Galaxy10.1 TouchWiz/ADWex equipped Starship.
Im using open split keyboard
Even it still have minor bug

[Q] Keycode of an virtual button

Hello i need to override the virtual onscreen button that hides the soft keyboard.
Does anyone know hot to get the event of the virtual button that hides the keyboard or its KEYCODE? On devices with hardware buttons (Back Home Options Search) this can be done by overriding the BACK button, but on devices that have onscreen virtual buttons the back button changes into an arrow that hides the keyboard...

Sorry for bothering you with this but i searched google for two days and found nothing.
Sorry for my english and thank you!
You can override the EditText: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3425932/detecting-when-user-has-dismissed-the-soft-keyboard
There are also other possiblities: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2150078/how-to-check-visibility-of-software-keyboard-in-android
They just do not use the onKeyXXX methods.

First of all thank you for your fast answer.
I managed to implement to detect if the soft keyboard is shown or hidden using the method that measures the layout height.
Thank you very much!!

I too have the same size but once i saw that space bar got reduced even further.I don't remember how I bought it back to the original size that you are showing but i think its good enough size.Try changing to google keyboard by downloading it and setting up that as input rather than Samsung Keyboard as input which is what you are using now.
