qwerty keyboard in context

Hi
Just got a Dual 20 key, I noticed that sometimes you get a full qwerty touch keyboard (1 key per letter) say in contacts for narrowing the search, but when entering email etc you get the qwerty/20 key.
I see people recommending things like Pocket CM keyboard, but clearly the same capability is already built in, but cannot find a way to make the fully qwerty appear in text entry areas?
Any ideas?

Same here in on the dual 16 key.
I want to use a software keyboard with Vito SMS chat because the hardware slide keypad wont work and the software touch pad wont work either.
The only way is the touch keyboard, but it shifts from the full qwerty to the 20 key, whilst the 20key also wont work with the ap :-( How do you shift from both?

yh i want that keyboard in the thumbnail but when ever i select a field it gives me a different keyboard how do we oput this one as that please tell me

This is easily corrected by opening and editing Skin.ini there line:
IncompatibleLanguages = <list of languages>
to remove from this list, your language and then the keyboard will not generate an error. But, perhaps, will have to adjust a little skin to achieve normal operation with a specific language. I apologize for nekroposting, but can someone be useful now.

I've installed the vga version on my touch hd and it works fine, except i can't figure out how to switch to my secondary language (greek). there is no language button. any help?

Can this be installed on the HD2?

Swype position.

I have a 3.5.5 rom installed and it comes with Swype already cooked in. However, presumably due to the thicker bar at the bottom in comparison to WM 6.5, the position of the keyboard is off (see attached screenshot). No biggie but annoying all the same. If I have missed a hack to fix this then apologies but is there any way of moving it up slightly?

Surely someone has found a way of fixing this considering the amount of people on 6.5.x and using Swype.

I can't find a fix for this problem after searching through the forums.has anyone found a fix for swype on winmo 6.5.5? I've also noticed that I don't have an enter key graphic on my swype keyboard, anyone else experienced that?

I haven't yet - but also missing the pic (Swype3.9 on WiMo 6.5.5)
for position fix... I wish someone would find a way - and would assume one of these days there will be a swipe version for 6.5.x
I just read somewhere, that there are genreal sip-positionioning-registry-keys which did not work for swype2.0 - does anyone know these or has anyone tried on swype3.9?

[Q] Xperia X10 Mini Keypad?

I wonder if theres any possible way of getting the Sony Ericson Xperia X10 Mini Keypad (shown in the image below) onto my Wildfire? I would really appreciate it, I love the keypad on the xperia.

As I understand it, this is part of UX, Sony Erricson's Android Overlay, much the same as the keyboard on the Wildfire is part of HTC Sense. These are not individual components, but rather part of a large overlay system, and so individual components (such as the keypad) are very difficult to transfer. Your best bet may be to use the app "Better Keyboard" and see if you can find a mode that matches the Xperia closely.

thanks! but I didnt find better keyboard on the market so I downloaded the apk. When I try to open the keyboard it crashes and has to be closed... How can I fix that? :/
EDIT: I downloaded a later version apk and it seems to work. But I cant view the skins on the market, and there doesnt seem to be a swedish lang pack. :/

Galaxy Tab 10.1v Keyboard

Hi There!
I have tried to use the built in onscreen keyboard for this tablet, and I hate it, then I tried swype, my keyboard of choice on the Galaxy S2 I have, and it's horrible too. Can someone suggest some other alternatives?

I'll second that

I've been using SwiftKey Tablet X from day one of owning my Tab, It works great. It has a bunch of great features like the ability to switch back and forth between a thumb style keyboard to a standard style keyboard. It also supports alot of different language packs and different keyboard layouts like "qwerty"..."azetry"... And so on. Great preemptive text and spell checking. You can change the theme on it on the fly and comes with 3 preinstalled. It's well worth the 3x or so in the market. And you can check their web site, from time to time they open up the beta group to new members.
