I am planning to install an Android Headunit in my car and as it looks for now, it will be one with Android 9.
For data, calls and music I would like to connect to bluetooth and wifi (hotspot) of my phone.
But there is one thing.
Both my girlfriend and I are driving this car
I would like to achieve next thing:
- When I am going to drive alone, wifi/bluetooth has to be connected to my phone automatically.
- When my girlfriend is going to drive alone, wifi/bluetooth has to be connected to her phone automatically.
- When we are driving together, wifi/bluetooth has to be connected to my phone automatically, not hers.
Does someone know how this can be achieved in an easy way?
I was thinking of some app like Tasker or something.
But there has to be more people facing this problem, so perhaps there is already a solution?

Hi, sorry if this has been discussed somewhere else, but I haven't seen it.
I'm on my second M5k (the first one had serious radio issues), this one has bluetooth problems.
I've paired it with my Parrot car kit (which has always worked fine), but recently the car asks me to pair a device everytime its powered on. Likewise, I've just paired a BT GPS & it's connecting but not really seeing the device. In the BT manager, both devices now have a ? icon on the left rather than a headset etc.
Any ideas whats going on?
Thanks
Check on your outgoing port settings in bluetooth settings, if there is a tick in the secure connection, uncheck it and see if that works.
I had similar issue with bt gps reciever
Nope, not ticked.
On a side note, its been sat next to me for an hour with wifi on, connected to the pc & its just shut down with 52% battery left. When this thing doesnt wanna play, it really is the biggest waste of money i've ever had (course, for that 5 mins that it works properly its the greatest thing i've ever spent my money on).
sorry, thats the extent of my knowledge ... just a newbie
best of luck and keep the faith !
when i have a hard reset my paired devices disconfigured only
Hi all,
Happy New year
I see this has been asked lots before, but I haven't as yet found a simple easy solution. Has anyone ?
I want to access my sms / email from head unit over bluetooth ideally. Headers/ notifications would be nice too.
I thought about using a bigger device such as a tablet, but would have much the same issues Plus charging, storage etc.
Wont be used when driving but when I pull up and go through them and can respond. So not really interested in apps that read them as they come in.
Head unit is a new px5 erising, mtce running android 8 untouched. Works great as is.
Phone is stock S6, android 7. un-rooted. NO usb port. (can only charge wireless)
Happy to install any apps as needed.
I have tried several apps, such as botifier, btnotifier, carmode, easyconnection, hotspot control, several smart 'device' syncs and havent got any to work. Sounds easy but have a couple issues. I dont always have data on as on payg, as most apps seem to want.
Plus not keen on google apps reporting my every whereabouts so dont have Android Auto, telling google execs what colour pants i'm wearing to sell data to advertisers to hound me..
2nd I dont fancy turning on hotspot and messing around to pair up wifi. with every journey (although I have considered getting a small AP, router for the car for both devices to connect to and thus be on the same local wifi network if that helps.)
I'm aware there are about 15 different protocols for it to work on BT which is a p.i.t.a that I dont know which I have on either device. I dont (need to) play music or do anything else from phone.
So is there an android app yet that installs whats needed and just does the simple job of remotely without fuss or needing several trips round the moon to display / reply to my sms texts on my head unit while phone is in my pocket?
Thank you.
So I decided to give one of these a whirl in my wife’s vehicle. All in all, for like $80, I’m pretty pleased. However, I have a few bags that I wanted to see if anyone might be able to help me resolve.
Nag 1 - for whatever reason the FM/AM radio tuner app’s volume is WAY louder than all the other apps that play audio. Spotify, YouTube, etc are all the same volume and are ok. The tuner app though is way to loud and I’ve found no way to adjust it. Any thoughts?
Nag 2 - so we both have iPhones and apparently the WiFi hotspot on the iPhone turns off or something after a period of it being connected to a client. Consequently that means re-enabling every time you get it. That’s annoying and detracts from what I was trying to accomplish with the move to this headunit. Anyone have any suggestions for making that process better?
Nag 3 - internet through the Bluetooth connection would be ideal, since that does connect every time you enter the vehicle. However, it doesn’t appear that that is a option. Just music and phone calls appear to be supported via Bluetooth....any way to alter that?
That’s the main issues I have. If I could get those resolved, I’d be pretty happy with the unit.
The MCU1 is HW8227L-3.3-SWO-1.9
Nag2: This is the way iphones work. There is no getting around it.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That was kind of what I figured. ?? Thanks.
Does anyone know if there is a way to pair 2 phones to the same car radio?
We use the same car, both me and my wife and automatically connect only the last phone. If you use my wife's car today and connect her phone and I'll use it tomorrow, I have to connect it manually otherwise it won't find it. If you use it later, the problem arises again.
I have another BT bury system on the work machine, I can attack 2 phones simultaneously. They both connect when I turn on the radio. Can it also be done on this?
I have Erisin ES7615V with Android 8.1 PX5/4gb CSN2
Thank you.
I have an Atoto S8, and this is my first Android powered head unit (coming from their linux-based F7, which was more of an appliance UI instead of a smart OS). I love the extra functionality it gives me, running apps and video players directly on the unit. But Bluetooth support is wonky.
My wife and I share the car, and ever since swapping to the Android powered unit, it only reconnects to whoever drove last. So if I drive the car all the time, its fine. But when my wife drives, she says bluetooth isn't working, so I have to go into settings on the BT app (BT1 as they call it) and see the three phones listed as paired (my old phone, my new phone and my wife's phone), and click on hers. Wait a bit, and then she is good to go. But then next time I drive, I realize my phone isn't connecting now, so I have to go do it again. Which means she's going to complain next time that her phone isn't working again.
I've installed a few bluetooth powered head units before, and even the Android Auto supporting F7 before this one, worked as expected: If the last device isn't available, try to connect to another recent paired one. It seems to just get stuck on the last one for some reason. Is this a limitation of how bluetooth works on these units?
have you solved this issue
i am finding it very frustrating
i thought i would solve it using the app "automate"
this would star a sequence of checks and sytematic attempted connections
but, oddly enough you cant automate the triggering o fthe flow
so it would only start if actioned
Yes, or rather THEY solved it.
Reach out to customer support. There is an update to the Bluetooth module that makes this work the way I described.
I got an A6pf in my other car and had them make an update for that one too. Much happier now.
