After some experimenting with the I9505G firmware I ended up flashing its bootloader and got stuck. I used a tool to resurrect the S4 but its a no go for me.
Im in download mode and I can flash stock firmware and pit but when it reboots it enter qhusb dload and I cant do anything.
Any ideas?

While the S4 is in QHUSB DLOAD mode(blackscreen) use this tool http://forum.legija.net/showthread.p...-via-USB-Cable
Then go into download mode and flash http://forum.legija.net/attachment.p...1&d=1370000853
Then at reboot hold power down + volume up and down down and you will be in a special recovery mode. wait 10seconds, then remove batttery and restart the phone normal

Well if download mode is still working, it means that the original bootloader was not flashed ? Did you try to flash just the original i9505 bootloader with Odin ?

I know there is a feature so called "fastboot" on Nexus. Maybe something similar for the GS4 ?

S4 doesnt have fastboot but uses Download mode to flash firmwares etc. but thanks. I guess ill have to wait for my JTAG to resurrect.
OMG i just unbricked my S4:laugh::laugh:
I hold power + volume up and down and it power reset and flash bootloader and it works now!!:laugh::laugh:

Hi,
Does anyone knows how to install the QHUSB Qualcomm drivers? When I'm connecting the phone, I can see the QHSUSB-DLOAD in Device Manager but the recovery tool can't find my phone...
Any help is appreciated!!

Install this driver, http://www.riffbox.org/downloads/RiffSetup.exe
This will install following files to Your computer:
JTAG Manager software v1.43
RIFF Box Firmware v1.32
RIFF Box control port driver
RIFF Box update port driver
RIFF DCC USBLoader driver
QUALCOMM QHUSB_DLOAD driver.

Thanks for the files but I managed to install the right drivers. I uninstalled the drivers from Windows and when reconnecting the phone to my pc, I installed the QHUSB drivers. I'm going to flash the original software now, fingers crossed

still, i only get black screen. cant get the download or recovery mode. please, helppppppppppp.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but i have just had the same problem with my S4,
it just restarted itself a couple times then crashed and now it wont turn on at all.

Chill... Just turn of your phone. Press vol- and insert the USB cable to put it in download mode. Then use a kdz flasher to flash stock again

There are several how to threads in general about this method. Do a search
i do "wipe system" via recovery . and now I have Official recovery , becuse i install it by mistake
and my phone It does not connect to computer .
how i can fix it ? are there something like recovery (update.zip) to install it from official recovery ? or any thing please

You'll want to use ODIN to restore your phone to normal. Your computer will not recognized your phone as a USB storage device, but ODIN should be able to see it.
You'll need to find the correct ODIN files for your phone type (Tmobile, Verizon, etc and the ROM combo). If you just go to "http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5" you'll see different sections based on the service provider; the ODIN files will be in there somewhere.
Once you find the thread there will be accompanying instructions on what to do.

and before this problem, No computer connects to mobile !

download mode working? press all at the same time: vol down + menu + power button. then follow instruction (press vol up to confirm enter download mode).
once your phone on download mode then connect to PC. ODIN should recognize your phone n flash it. (i assume your PC has all driver installed and u have correct firmware for yr variant)

Mohammed this thread is probably going to be closed. because again its not where it should be. so PM me if this isn't clear .
i wipe system every time i try a new ROM. so dont panic okay
whatever the issue with RECOVERY it doesn't matter if the odin mode or download is still reachable.
if u having trouble with PC recognizing odin mode on your phone. try to make sure u have both samsung usb and google usb drivers.
( NOTE: if it still doesnt recognized it try another usb cable. )

I try to install new ROM throw SPTool and cannot enter Download Mode. I went through multiple tutorials and nothing worked. I cannot do through recovery because it a great update from Android 4.4 to 5.1.
How can i enter download mode? Is there any button combination to enter? I dont want to enter recovery, I want DOWNLOAD.

Turn OFF device
Press BOTH Volume buttons(don't let go)
Press Download on SPFlashTools
Connect USB cable PC --> Device

It dont works. When using phone volume up and down works well (if you think it could be broken).
Now you see that i searched and didnt find a solution.

Why you wanna use DOWNLOAD?
From 4.4 to 5.1 you want to use FIRMWARE UPGRADE with SP Flashtool.

If you want to update system from 4.4 to 5.1, you will use firmware upgrade option in SP Tool but need to put phone in DOWNLOAD MODE. This is done with many Android phone brands (LG, Samsung, ...).
Thank you for your response. I got download mode finally. I only need to connect usb without battery and then put battery in. Many tutorials said to put battery first and then connect usb.

The single way my phone connects is if I keep volume down pressed longer. Even if it appears to be connected in SPFlash, still keep volume down pressed until the first FORMAT action in SP. Also, change the usb hub and the usb cable you are using. Sometimes it helps (in mine it did)
my s3 basic is not charging when on.. also when connected to pc thru usb, ipc shows device malfunctioning ,and there is no indication on phone..I try to connect to sp flash tool also no success..same error"usb device not recognized pops up every 2s.everything else is fine..Any method to upgrade to 5.1 now on official kk

update : but usb otg works
Hello everybody. I have a "small" problem, I mistakenly wiped everything on phone including system by twrp .
Another problem is i cannot even get to recovery now.
Any ideas
One plus: Almost everybody can say they have phone in their pocket, but who can say "I have piece of aluminium looking like phone in my pocket" ?

1.) connect your phone to a pc
2.) press vol. down and reboot your phone into fastboot mode.
(otherwise switch to off and press vol. down and power together!)
3.) flash TWRP (sminki version!) out from a cmd-window again
-> fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
4.) remove usb cable at first and reboot into twrp pressing vol. up during reboot (!)

Thanks ^^ I totally forgot about removing usb cable . Now without usb cable can boot into TWRP .
But still need help with that system, stock systems don't work and dunno if there are any custom ones .

You shouldn't have any TWRP and you shouldn't have rooted phone in order to flash the local update. Please read instructions, there are plenty of them in this forum. Now you must flash stock B188 and after that without modification B320 as a local update. You may need to flash B188 from computer via fastboot.
