[Q] Youtube HD videos lag terribly with IconiaHD's 4.4.4 ROM

Hello pros of XDA forums!
I recently got a hold of my first Android device, the A500. It came with factory stock Honeycomb v3.0.1. Because the build-in system update no longer work, I flashed it to 4.4.4 OmniRom by IconiaHD from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705989.
Everything works great except when I watch Youtube 720p videos with the Youtube app, the video would lag very bad. It's not network lag, sound plays fine but the video just freezes then plays for a couple seconds then freezes again. It's the kind of lag you get when hardware is not fast enough or when there's too much software in the background eating up all the CPU cycles. But I checked background app CPU usage with Watchdog Task Manager and no app is hogging resources. I then tried to increase CPU frequency, change CPU governor, IO scheduler, nothing helped. CPU set to performance helped a tiny little bit but overall video still stutters too much.
Anyone else have this problem?
Also under Known Issues of the IconiaHD's thread, it says "-Default sound recorder app is included but the icon does not show up". Does anyone know how to make the app appear so I can use it?

low framerate and lag especially on google play videos (but also netflix)?

I'm on Dtux Corp v7.5 had issue on 7.2 and on stock firmware on this Note 4 (and my previous one).
Rent a video on Google playstore (even just an SD video) and the framerate is jumpy as hell i'd guess about 12 fps or so and complex scenes choke up the device freezing playback. UI remains responsive and sometimes clicking pause/play or just tapping the screen gets it going. This seems to happen even on downloaded locally cached / offline content. Happens to a lesser degree on Netflix.
I'm on a clean install, on multiple devices, and multiple different firmwares.
Anyone else having these issues? Is it the DRM?
Help greatly appreciated. I've searched and not seen anyone else mentioning this.
+power save is off
+standard kernel
+does not occur on Note 10.1" 2014 version.

[Q] Most reliable custom ROM for X compact?

There seem to be a number of different ROMs out there. If you have experimented with different ones, which one did you find most reliable?
Reliable to me means
No random crashes, freezes, reboots
Phone calls work without any lag, echo, dropped calls or other issues
WiFi is stable
Mobile data is stable
Bluetooth works
Audio playback through speaker and headphones is clear and stable (music, podcasts)
No battery issues (rapid draining, charging problems)
No heat problems
Camera takes pictures and video in decent quality (doesn't have to be a gazillion MP stills and full 1080p 30fps video, lower resolution is ok, no stuttering or weird color issues are more important)
Ideally plus these, but in a pinch I could do without:
NFC works
USB OTG works
I don't really play games, no watching movies, nothing really super CPU/GPU-intensive. So I don't need top performance, I also don't need to have the absolute latest Android version. But something rock-solid and recent enough to run most apps. Suggestions?

I have tried roms for this device from nougat to pie and most reliable are nougat roms.
Try K.E.M, is lightweight debloated stock nougat 7.0, thats works flawlessly but only thing - in stock kernel, magisk refuses to install modules. Here i recommend flash Genesis Kernel 1.04 and cpu governor blu_active = no lag and good battery life, and magisk work flawlessly.
Next would be ParanoidAndroid 7.3.1. Iam using it and have very good stability and battery life, but fingerprint is out from settings and audio mods seems not working, viper4android works for time but after restart - No driver installed again. So use built-in equalizer for example Poweramp. And doesnt work with Genesis Kernel.
Next would be stock Marshmallow.
Other roms i had changed after day or two.

WhatsApp slow at uploading videos ? OnePlus 8 Pro.

Have tested this on an iPhone and another Android phone (Sammy 10 I think)
1. Take a video with normal OS cam, say 1 min long, 1080p or 4K
2. Upload direct to anyone via WhatsApp.
The upload will be very very slow as if it's a massive video, but it isn't?
Changed from WiFi 2.4GHz to 5GHz, 4G, 5G...
All the same.... This is a first for me, I'm not on Facebook and have very minimal apps, doesn't happen all the time but recently it's been horrific.
Probably just Facebook throttling servers but thought I'd ask as it doesn't appear to happen on the iPhone or Sammy I tested?
Latest OOS 7.7, rooted with stock kernel, no power saving.
PS: telegram, web downloads, email, all yield great results, just WhatsApp.
Anyone else having this?
Cheers
