Fossil gen 5 optimisation - Other SmartWatches

I have just got this watch switching from the Huawei Watch 2. The HW2 had it's own optimising app built in to the watch to improve it's performance. It worked well IMO and was wondering if the Gen 5 had something similar, or there is a third party app that can do it?

I own this watch and i don't feel like i have issues with performance. (Snapdragon 3100 is working great)
I do feel like the battery could be improved with development.
But there is no so much development except the official Wear OS or Fossil updates.

Is it really worth it ?

Hi guys
i'm going for Huawei Nova Plus now
is really good phone and worth the price of it ?
how is the performance in real life ? for web browser and camera ? battery ?
what about the battery UI manual mode is it full control ? can someone give me screen shot for the manual settings ?
can i save pic in RAW mode ?
and anyone tried EMUI 5.0 beta
does it have the same features like Mate 9 or what ?
If you can get the Moto z play, everything is better but the design. My experience with the 5 inch nova is that it is overpriced and I'll get a discounted S7 instead.
I sold my htc10 for the huawei Nova. I totally love my phone.
Even rooted with xposed and 200 apps i get a screen on time from over 5hours and still have 50 percent left....
This must be something about 9-10 hours sot.
For me, it is just the contrary. I find moto z play overpriced. I'm just 2 days with nova and I'm very happy with it. Ofc if you expect a flagship performance from it, you're looking for other devices. But for a midranger, it is pretty good
Here Moto Z is over priced same goes to Lenovo p2 plus Lenovo and build quality pls Nova is the iPhone 6s of Android if we put them side by side we will find alot of similarities plus if you like Nexus 6P Nova is Nexus 6P lite
Plus paying for gimik such as Moto mods that u will use maximum 2-3 time's and pay extra Nova is not just mid range device but upper mid range so it's one Step under the new flagship's but better in last year once the mid range devices even today are with 1.5 to 2 GB RAM same as the last year aka see the Samsung LG HTC and etc you will see no more than SD615 in good cases Sd620 or equivalent SoC
For me the performance of Nova is as good as the htc 10 which really is one flagship at the moment.
At some points i get a better performance with emui then with sense... Few games, just working and multitasking, browsing and text...
We only need a kernel dev in our forum ?
Once huawei releases the source it is all open. Waiting for this before buying the device.

Which Android Wear 2 Watch?

I am looking into a new Android Wear 2 watch, but can't really decide what the smartest buy is. Obviously taste makes this a loaded question, but if you were to buy a fully loaded AW2 Watch, which would it be?
The new Casio (no Heart Sensor), Huawei Watch 2 or ?
I like the looks of the Tizen based S3 Classic, but that nonexistent app store makes it a no go.
What would you recommend?
I like my Asus zenwatch 3.
I can't say enough good things about the Huawei 1. I bought it and the HW2 Classic at the same time and the HW1 is much better for me.
I tried both Zenwatch 3 and Huawei watch 2 international edition. I think I like the huawei more.

Need a new watch?!

So I am looking for an Wear OS watch. Any ideas for a good watch and overall good. I had a Sony smart watch 3 and it was nice for what it was but looking for something better. Got a Nexus 6p for my phone.
Maybe Huawei Watch 2 or Ticwatch Pro.

If you want a cheap but good quality wear OS device, I suggest Ticwatch E. Changeable straps, android oreo, 24hr battery life, good build quality.
I can recommend the TicWatch Pro. A really nice device. First I had a Ticwatch E, but it's a plastic device and the haptical feeling is really cheap.
In terms of quality and design i can recomand emporio armani hugo boss ot tommy hifigher watch but in terms of features and battery all three are averege. Ticwatch pro is best option on marchet rigt now but all big producers are lawnching theyre new watches like huawei watch 3, lg urban 3, moto 360 3rd gen all are wright around the corner.

I really enjoy my Fossil Sport. Battery lasts me a day and half to two. Good for fitness, waterproof, and has the new chipset so it should only get better with the next WearOS update.
Also it's on sale now for less than $200 so it's a steal!

I got a fossil q g4 explorer and the Micheal Kors I like em both
I was finally time to retire my gear s2
Im a mechanic and its lasted over a year no issues But I the battery is killed over in the last few weeks
Is it still OK to "resurrect" a 1 year old post? Damn, last time I used xda was a life ago.. Anyway, back here for searching the same thing: Which smartwatch to buy.
I researched a bit and as for now, the 4 best choices are:
1) Fossil Sport
2) Ticwatch Pro
3) Huawei watch 2
4) Skagen Falster 2
But all of them are "some months old" already. So, not sure if waiting for the new generation or "f*** it imma get it anyway".
2) Ticwatch Pro
I have almost all Wear Watch (and Huawei 2) but the Ticwatch Pro is for far the better. 2nd LCD screen for always ON and not light emited like a lighthouse. Large OLED screen 1.4". Better battery life for all wear watch. Real innovation for a watch.
Last 4 posters: did you know that it's a year old thread?
Anyway I'm using Fossil Gen 3 and happy with it. The Gen 4 only ads NFC...
If you you are interested in a ticwatch, there is now a limited $50 / €50 off using code "Mobvoi50TY" during checkout. Will make the Ticwatch Pro even a better price/performance

It runs wear os 2.x. got few updates and all ok. Gen 4 added NFC and heart monitor, so I got gen 3 as don't use those 2 apps.

Help me to decide a smartwatch

Hi guys, I do not decide between 3 smartwatch, could you help me decide which one to buy?
Samsung galaxy watch comes with tyzen and rotating bezel
Huawey Watch 2 comes with android wear without rotating bezel
Huawey watch gt new model, I do not know if it's better than the Watch 2
Important points:
I think having a rotating bezel gives a positive point to the clock
So I have read tyzen is not well optimized strong point for android wear
Then i dont decide between samsung or huawey... By the way i love cool watch faces like fallout pip boy or super mario faces,..
Which of the two operating system / clock has the most support on wahtcfaces?
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME GUYS
Huawei Watch GT is just a Fitness tracker, almost zero smart.
Huawei 2 very Good smartwacth, maybe the best for Health and battery life but Wear OS little annoying.
Tizen Watch, not bad at all, more stable than Wear but not many app, but many watchface.

Well maybe pokemon go no... But android wear is better on this compatiblity point... Then +1 to huawey wath 2
Which is the best smartwatch then? XD
Yes Huawei Smartwatch 2 is the best of Wear Watch with better battery life. Just the screen really tiny with 1.2" vs 1.3" for Gear S3 or 1.4" for Ticwatch E. But all Wear Watch other Huawei 2 has a real bad battery life.
My vote goes for the Huawei watch. The Huawei Watch 2 is one of the most popular mens watches watches in recent time.
Some of the key features that give it an edge over Galaxy Watch are:
It comes in two editions (Sport and a Classic)
It has a 1.39 inch Amoled Display, which is much superior than Samsung’s 1.3 inch
The watch also boasts of a built-in coach functionality.
However, the Samsung Watch does possess one advantage which is it rotating bezel. It helps improve the interface.

Huawei watch 2 has an 1.2" display so really smaller than the 1.3" for samsung Galaxy watch (and S3). But some new smaller Galaxy watch has smaller display in 1.2" like the Gear S2.
1.39" is for the Huawei GT wich is not a smartwatch but an activity tracker.
Samsung Galaxy Watch is the best rated in reviews, has decent battery life and some apps that you can install.
Huawei Watch GT also has great battery life but it's a brand new closed platform with no app capability and Huawei don't have the best reputation for updates and bug fixes. Could be a great platform in the future but it's a hell of a risk at the moment.
Huawei Watch 2 is Android Wear so lots of apps but OS is so poor on battery life meaning no continuous HR monitoring or sleep tracking.
I would go for the Samsung - good platform and some apps.

Ticwatch Pro 3 different info on WearOS vs FTSN vs Mobvoi app

Is anyone else seeing this on Ticwatches that the info on the FTSN is different to whats on wearOS.
For example in the screenshot below the FTSN shows i hvae done 4073 steps while WearOS shows 1435. If i go into the Mobvoi app it shows different info from the other two.
I can see there are reports on the mobvoi forum of incorrect counting of steps but i dont see any that details different steps between FSTN vs WearOS vs App and i opened a thread on their forum to report this it was not posted. mobvoi seem to screen the threads and responses and only allow some. I can understand some differences between them but 4k vs 1.5k it seems like something bigger is going on.

The Ticwatch pro 3 is a cool watch, but it's junk compared to my Active 2. WearOS has gone to the dumps and now they are partnered with Samsung anyway and the Ultra is 299. No way is that worth that price. I returned the Ticwatch and went back to my Active 2. I don't see a good future for smart watches.
This Wear OS 3 Situation Really Sucks
Today should have been a big day for Fossil. The company announced its long-awaited Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch, the follow-up to the mostly enjoyable Gen 5, with upgraded specs across the board that should provide a dramatically improved experience. Unfortunately, the story from today’s...

i agree wear OS is useless and only seems to be getting worse.
just checked it on mine(pro3 LTE) and there is no difference
perhaps it has been fixed since your first post?
