I have a Lenovo tab 4 plus TB-8704V and having a lot of performance/wifi issues. I found that verizon has this update listed on their site(TB-8704V_RF001_191028), but my tablet says that it is on the latest version at TB-8704V_RF01_181122
Any idea if I can download or install this update manually?
thanks
could maybe us Lenovo't recovery tool or Qualcomm flasher to install it. Let me know how you go.

Unfortunately I can't find where to download it. I found another newer update on a post here, but it appears to be fro the 10" version and is a different number.
how to update to the latest stock
You can use the Lenovo's Rescue and Smart Assistant to update your tablet to the latest stock (8.1.0 with 2020 security updates). I just did it to my TB-8704v.
Reboot to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader), were you see the "Fastboot" and laying down Android guy.
Launch the Rescue and Smart Assistant, go to Lenovo Tablet, product name Lenovot Tab 4 8 plus, model name TB-8704V, HW code - 11 (this will give you Oreo 8.1.0), click Rescue Now.
Follow instructions.
You tablet will be flashed with the stock Oreo firmware, TB-8704V_USR_S001026_1906291850.
Do system updates twice to get the latest security updates after the rescue.

Thanks a ton for the tip!
I had the same issue - tablet on 7.1.1 but not able to detect the new updates. Downloaded Rescue and Smart Assistant from Lenovo's website, followed the instructions and voila!
One difference from the steps you described though - putting the device in fastboot mode didn't work for me. With the tablet in fastboot mode, the Rescue and Smart Assistant app was stuck on "Download Recovery File to Phone" for ~15min without making progress.
So I ended up following the instructions in the app - power off, hold the volume up button (but NOT the power button so the tablet stays off), then plug into the computer. The app was then able to flash the tablet as expected, even though the tablet's display remained blank throughout.

Hello everyone,
First of all, I apologize if this post is in the wrong section. Also I'd like to say how awesome it is everyone that is involved in these projects.
My Issue is I can't get ANYTHING to work, I have tried so many roms that apparently work for my phone and I always, foot errors, signature errors though the adb. I have tried every program to unlock bootloader but apparently does not work unless you are running V2 551 2.40.*.* so I went and downloaded this, and wants again can't flash the ROM. The unlock bootloader was weird, I went through all the installation and I don't even know if it worked to be honest. I can boot into the phone via power and volume down, and get a menu that includes, apply apps from ADB, wipe/restore phone, fastboot mode * which goes as far as my phone saying *FASTBOOT !!!* then thats it will not continue. The power and volume up does the same thing. So basically I'm starting to think this piece of crap phone will never have a decent operating system on it. The phone is in developer mode and USB debugging is on also. * Basically have done every single tutorial I can find and nothing works*. Also the twrp doesn't even work. I have even tried flashing back to an older version on the phone and get the same ADB errors. I have installed all the ADB and also minimal adb and fastboot and all drivers for the phone as well. * TRYING NOT TO MISS ANYTHING*
My phone specs:
Model: ASUS_z00LD
Android: 5.0.2
Baseband Version: 202c10_10.0.0_160120

Did you try to unlock bootloader the official way? I myself unlocked the ZE550kl following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-2-laser/general/ze600kl-official-bootloader-unlock-t3273263
You can check if bootloader is lock or not from fastboot by entering "adb>fastboot oem device-info" should show up somewhere between the lines "Device unlocked: true"
After unlock only then you can install Official recovery TWRP 3.0.0-0 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/zen...recovery-twrp-3-0-0-0-touch-recovery-t3317513 .
If needed TWRP will also help you root your phone once is installed.
Good luck!
I have a note 3 and I'm trying to install the stock firmware on it. I found that Samsung has a section on their website where I can download the firmware, but they want me to name the specific model number of my phone. I know it's an n900, but the model number they want is more specific than that. Here's the link to the downloads page that I'm trying to use:
samsung.com/us/support/downloads
an example of the sort of model number they want is this: SM-N900AZKEATT, or SM-N900AZWEATT
Can anyone tell me where on my phone to look for that sort of model number? Thanks in advance. (If it helps, I originally bought the phone in Taiwan, from the carrier "FarEasTone".)
enter download mode (power + home + vol down) and you will see your exact model.

Unfortunately, I believe I installed custom recovery software at one point, and because of that my screen looks like this when I start up in download mode. Is there another way to find my exact model number?

What I'm trying to do is to revert my phone to stock everything. Stock android, stock recovery, stock firmware, unrooted. I'm not even sure if I ever installed custom firmware, but I want to reinstall the official release just in case. Do you have any idea what order these different steps should be performed in? If the first step is to reinstall the stock recovery software, that seems to solve my problem, because I can reinstall the stock recovery software, get the exact model number from it, and then reinstall the stock firmware. But if, for example, the steps need to be done in this order: unroot, stock firmware, stock recovery, stock OS, then I need to find a different way to get my phone's exact model number.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts that you ( or anyone else ) can share.
Use Phone Info app from play store .

As said boot to download mode you stopped half way through .

Hi
I managed to screw up by flashing a Nougat-to-Marshmallow downgrade (1st of two) update.app whilst still on Marshmallow.
M3 now shows Huawei logo in a loop.
Entered fastboot & rescue mode using Vol-/Power, and saw AP_S_ABNORMAL.
HiSuite system recovery procedure led to "Your device is not supported for system recovery".
Since my M3 bootloader is locked, I guess there is nothing more that can be done.
Still, if an experienced user has any angle, it would be most welcome!
Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue. My wife dropped her phone in some water so i disassembled the phone. It was also trying to upgrade the firmware as i was taking it apart but i pulled the battery from the device (I panicked). So i have got everything working again. but i can't boot into the device. It only displays the time after startup. I have tried factory resetting, dowloading firmware and putting it on the sdcard in the dload folder but, alas, so far no luck getting it going. I also entered the fastboot & rescue mode using Vol-/Power, and saw AP_S_ABNORMAL message. In addition to that it also said PHONE_LOCK and FRP_LOCK.

It's a pretty delicate device. I bricked mine with an unlocked bootloader. There's no low level chipset utilities like there is for the qualcomm chips. I'm so stupid I got the M5; won't be piddling with this one. If someone normal would only make a decent LTE TAB I'd gladly run screaming from huawei.
Try the "dload" method. Create a "dload" folder on the sdcard and put the second "update.app" into it. Now boot into recovery by shutting the device off and starting it with all 3 hardware buttons pressed.

I did this but it says update failed.
Hi everyone. While I was attempting to root my tablet I ran in to a problem. It turned out since I had updated to 8.1 it had an RMM state that's prenormal, which makes it impossible to root. I found a guide to use Miracle Box to downgrade it to 7.1 where I'd be able to root. However in this process when I saw Miracle Box was done I decided to unplug the tablet. Well it turns out the tablet was still loading it, so unplugging it caused an error. Now whenever it boots up I'm stuck on the error screen which says to use the emergency recovery mode on smart switch. Well, smart switch won't find my device. Neither will kies. I've tried downloading 2 different stock roms for my exact device and using odin to install them, but I get an error on odin and it fails. I have tried two different versions of odin too, 3.12 and 3.13.

Here's my tablet screen.
I have no idea what else to do here to get my device back in usable state. Please help!

What error are you getting? There is no picture of your tablet or the error. Also did you try patched Odin? If SmartSwitch won't recognize it do you have the samsung USB drivers installed from here? https://developer.samsung.com/mobile/android-usb-driver.html
Howdy everyone...
OnePlus 7t Pro McLaren edition (International Edition **NOT T-MOBILE**)
Model: HD1913
Current Software Build: Oxygen OS 10.0.5.HD01AA (OTA update when I first unboxed).
I am having issues trying to return to stock. I rooted the phone with a combination of a couple guides found here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/how-to/10-0-3-patched-boot-image-oneplus-7t-pro-t3986351 and . I noticed after doing that I was missing the stock Oxygen apps and my build information was missing data. Not a huge deal, but I need to wipe the phone and start from scratch anyway, for other reasons. I decided to go back to stock if I have to redo everything anywhere.
First thing I tried, I got the stock firmwares (https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/how-to/oneplus-7t-pro-repo-oxygen-os-builds-t4003455). And this is where my issues started. My software build is weird... I have the HD1913, however my software build is HD01AA. Per that post, I should have HD01BA. I grabbed both of them for giggles, put them on my storage and booted into TWRP. Tried to flash the HD01AA (since that was what I have now), and it failed. Tried the other one, same issue. I'm getting a bunch of errors while trying to mount the system ("System unable to mount: invalid argument").
Second thing I tried, was to use the built in software update that OnePlus says to use (through the system update). It wouldn't install them (surprise).
Third attempt... Using the MsmDownloadTool (https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/how-to/op7tpro-unbrick-tool-to-restore-device-t4002909) I downloaded both versions cause I don't know which to use, and followed the instructions to get the phone into the mode. Turn the phone off, hold the vol up button and plug the cable in (very simple). It shows up connected in the software. Exactly 5 seconds later, the phone reboots and boots normally... I repeat this process aprox. 2.3 million more times. It does not matter what USB-C cable I use, the port on my computer, or how long I hold the buttons. The phone will boot into the download mode (or whatever it's called) show up as connected in MsmDownload and then reboot.
The phone works. I am still able to boot it up.... All I want to do is get this phone back to stock. I don't HAVE to, but now that it's fighting me, I have to beat it...

Okay - After sacrificing an iPhone to the Android God, I got it.
Instead of using the button combination to get into EDL Mode, I found an article that gave an adb command (adb reboot edl) to get to it. It did not reboot this time, and I was able to flash HD01BA to it, which matches what the phone should have...
