I started having this problem with GooglePlay a while back.. It does not download apps, just shows "Waiting for download" and sits there forever.
the unit is Joying PX5. I am tethering internet from my phone but also tried WiFi from other sources. Tried clearing cache and all storage info for GooglePlay, no dice. Flashed the unit with the newest ROM and MCU suggested by Joying - no joy. the _only_ way I found to download from GooglePlay is to Disable Google play in Applications. An older version of GooglePlay then gets installed automatically (not sure which, can't find version in Settings, but the interface is different), presumably from unit's ROM? At this point I can download normally. Until exiting the app, at which point it returns to the newer version (19.5, I believe, an interface looks different as well).
Any ideas on what to do to avoid this dance?
I sometimes have this problem. Best thing to do is goto app settings and then to play store and clean cache. Also do a clean up your unit using something like all in one toolbox or ccleaner. You're best to thus regularly to keep your system clean. Also disconnect your WiFi on the head unit and then reconnect.
It may be you only need to do one of the above. But plays store is a ***** when it wants to be. Cleaning the crap up seems to do the trick a lot of the time. Just remember to stop your downloads when you do any of the above and completely close the play store by force stop.
Hope this helps.

As mentioned, clearing cache, clearing data did nothing WiFi is routinely disconnected and reconnected. None of the other things, like Force Stop, work either. The only way to to Disable and then re-Enable the app, which seems to install the older version of GooglePlay and keeps it until exit, allowing me to download multiple apps without a problem.
It appears clear that the latest version of GooglePlay doesn't seem to work on my head unit, I think the question is to how to force the old version to stick around and not get automatically updated.

Have you tried apkpure to see if their is a newer version on their than the one you are having problems with? Most times they have newer versions of apps on there than playstore has.
As for putting it back to older version if it works is a good idea, just make sure you turn off automatic updates from playstore. That way you should be able to update the apps as and when you want to.

The PlayStore updates itself regardless of settings in "Automatic update", this is fairly standard operation for any Google product, including Chrome, etc. The version that ends up not working is the latest version, same as on my phone and tablet.
If you are still having problems try going to androidpit.com and looking there. Their is some solutions on there for same problem you're having.

I'm having an issue with the PlayStore, normally you set an app downloading, it downloads, installs blahblah, but what happens with me is it starts downloading, does, lets say a half, then just stops, there's no data activity, and it won't move, I have to cancel the download and start again. I've tried .27, .33 and .48 radios and there all the same. Have also tried latest CyanogenMod nightly and stock 4.2.2. I can't comment if it's my carrier or not as I don't have another sim to try. I'm currently using the old playstore (v3).
Anyone else having these issues?
I have been having the same issue with stock recently. Though if I leave it, it does carry on after a while.
I think it's the Play Store.

I think the playstore interruptions are caused by competition of simultaneously downloading and installing. What I mean to say is, if you're on the old playstore, it might be trying to update itself, which is interrupting the download of whatever app you wanted to download, and then it's getting stuck. Have you tried updating your playstore first, before downloading new apps?
I'd rather not install playstore through the apk on XDA, just personal preference, so I'm waiting for it to update itself.
These issues are present for me and I'm on the new 4.0.25 play store
However while they play store download has stopped/ going very slow, I'm still able to use normal H+ network data and download at >6mbs through the browser so I would think that the issue is with play store servers and not your device.

yes!! lately its been happening to me as well. Glad i am not the only one. Once I reboot then its fine for awhile. Same goes for Youtube ;O. Whats happenning to Google apps lately.
Ive tried all the major roms including the stock rooted ones and the custom ones by jrkruse and others. One thing remains clear, we still havent figured out how to fix lollipop's bluetooth cache problems. This happens on all of them and on many different sound systems ive tested.
Ever since switching to Lollipop, the MUSIC app sends the correct track info to bluetooth..... UNTIL i use another app like dropbox or pandora to play a sound, then when i go back to MUSIC it gets stuck on the wrong track info.
It also happens when i do a voice search with google now or sometimes with my Volkswagen's voice search. Its a problem with Lollipop's bluetooth app cache. When I go into bluetooth in app manager and manually force stop and clear cache then reconnect, everything is fine until i try using another app again. Never happened before Lollipop. Kitkat must have automatically cleared its cache whenever another app took control of sound output, which makes sense. I feel like this should be the next big thing to work on for custom ROMs. Ive seen a lot of people having the issue but I dont see anyone working on it.
Has anybody else experienced problems with updating/installing apps recently? I first noticed when I couldn't install anything from Underground. Then I found that the Play Store wouldn't install or update, either. I have:
1. Cleared cache/data/updates from play store and play services, which works for about two minutes each time I clear data from play services.
2. Completed hard (factory) reset, after which it updated apps and then promptly started doing the same thing.
3. Used the trick where I remove play store from the recent apps list, which works sometimes.
If I can find apks, they will will install and function, though sometimes the install comes with an error message. No app will download and then install. If I install from the play store website, the website thinks it is installed, but it doesn't get to the phone.
Oddest part? Galaxy apps works perfectly.
If it matters, it's an Exynos S7 Edge.
#1 above makes me think that the issue is from a recent play services update, and perhaps my problem will clear after the next play services update. My phone is perfectly usable, except for that updating thing.
Yep, same problem. Except I have the Snapdragon variant on Verizon. I've gone through all the usual wiping of caches, factory reset, etc. Same conclusion: I believe it to be a play store issue. Except I know my play store has updated versions at least 2 times since the problem started with no improvement though. Sometimes I have to reboot before the apps will finish installing.
Funny thing is, I was able to install XDA Labs with no problem sideloaded, while Play store was still hanging with a normal update. So I definitely don't believe it to be a Samsung issue anyway.
Hope someone finds a solution, it is annoying...
Amazon Alexa app crashes in all custom ROMs I have tried. I have tried clearing cache, uninstalling, etc, etc. but the same bad behavior remains. Runs fine if I revert to stock. Anyone else run into this?
Same here. I am on newest lineageOS.
Yep, that is my experience as well.
I use the alexa app on my stock tablet and have removed it from custom roms on my phone.
Haven't found a workaround yes but would appreciate one.
Works fine here on Dirty Unicorns on 3 devices and SAOSP on another.
Try turning off cellular data when trying to use the app. Any problems I have had with the Alexa app have been solved with this, doesn't seem to work well with it.

Will try that tonight. Thanks for the idea.
I will post my results.
At least I am not alone in this.
The regular pre conversations app works for me on all devices, however it does not when I add a phone number. Basically I have a problem with the new conversations. It starts to load I get all icons then a faint conversations label and then it crashes. I have tried almost all ROMs available for my moto x pure, no exaggeration. I am using DU at the moment and it does not work. Amazon thought it may be that I did not have an activated SIM card and had no data. So, I purchased and activated SIM card after having phone for almost 2 years and data does not help. Turning data off changes nothing for me as well. My sons phone is a samsung stock and his SIM card has never been activated but it works fine.
I also have been having troubles with TP-Link Kasa the most recent update is causing it to act the similar. It simply ignores my sign in. I have come to conclude their is a security validation check being used by amazon and tplink.
This kind sucks...I don't know why certain apps does this. Android was built on open source however I notice slowly they are closing Windows/doors.
Alexa app crashing solved for me!
Whenever I would hit the listen button the app would crash, if this is one of your symptoms try turning off notifications, it worked for me, found the answer in a post for Miui phones.
Ime using MaxiCM(CyanogenMod-Mod) on 5.1.1 and for me it crashed as soon as i logged in and it got Internet, using the App offline works fine but yea, no use for it.
Has anyone else noticed that their device certification in the Play Store suddenly shows "Uncertified"? My tablet is totally stock, never tried to root or unlock the bootloader. I just noticed that I couldn't download or update any apps, then suddenly saw this.
Any ideas about what's going on?
Fix
I'm not sure about the "Uncertified" status because I never checked, but I suspect you are having the same issue many other owners have after updating to 7.1.1. I had the problem as well, in which I could not update or download any apps in the Play Store. I would recommend looking at this thread: httpsCOLONSLASHSLASHforums.lenovoDOTcom/t5/Yoga-Book-Android/Lenovo-Yoga-Book-Android-Nougat-Breaks-Google-Play-App-Store/m-p/3834779#M466. (Replace the capitalized words with the corresponding symbols because I'm too new to post external links. The solution it lists about disabling adminstrators and removing VPN's and then restarting did not work for me initially. I ended up doing a factory reset, which solved the problem for a short time. Once it came back the solution from the thread fixed it and I haven't had an issue since.
It's absolutely sickening! Since weeks Google Services stuck on my both devices (X90F and X90L) I tried all the suggestions (factory reset and so on ...) given at this thread:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Yoga-B...aks-Google-Play-App-Store/td-p/3813570/page/3
Nothing works permanently and now, suddenly Play Store says: "Device not certified" . Both devices are not rooted and System-Build is LenovoYB1-X90L_100081_171013 / LenovoYB1-X90F_100083_171013
Turning on battery saver seems to be a viable workaround.

Not really
Btw I registered the uncertified devices now at https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/. But nothing changed in a positive way. On X90F sometimes over night play store runs and apps were updated. With X90F I always I have to stop play services and play store, delete cache and play store data. Then, after restart apps were updated too.
On both devices are running the identical apps and on my old Nexus7 (LineageOS Android 7.1.2) with same apps, activated builtin administrators and AdGuard-VPN all works flawlessly :good:
I think Lenovo urgently needs to deliver an update to get the devices recertified and pass the Android compatibility test.
Encountered the same. Is there still no fix or update from Lenovo for that?
