Hey guys, I saw the announcement of the N9, and it looks great. Do you think it will be possible to port MeeGo from it to our HD2s?
That's what Steve has pointed to in a recent tweet. Since the build he was running was based on the source wasn't really that good, he was actually waiting for the N9 to be released
Brilliant, thanks for telling me!
I look forward to what Steve can do with the release!
There is another guy called WeeZel working on that thing too,
the project called "WeeG0", he said once he accomplish something he will be posting it here in XDA-Dev.
I will make sure to look out for WeeZel too!
Thanks for letting me know!
My friend has the N950, which is a MeeGo developer phone,
I asked for a ROM dump and I might be getting it on Friday when he has some free time.

say could you give me a copy of the rom dump as well. Just want to play around with it to see if all this excitement is worth it. Is it alright if i pm you?
Hope the MeeGo dream come true. Bored of microsoft OSes, bored of Froyo/Ginger, give us our shot! Thx to those guys who they are really skillful in developing and porting all these OSes to Leo & thx to the htc team who created The Beast. HD2 is a legend. MeeGoGoGo!!!
Hello, any new news about port on HD2 or some other Android Phone´s?
update on this? the n9 is in sale since two weeks. I'd love to have MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan on my HTC Desire
Firmware Download
Hey guys and girls, i bought a Nokia N9 64GB this week and Meego/Meemo is fantastic, it has its little querks, but im sure i can change them.
Anyways, i dont know if this is what people where wanting in terms of a ROM dump or a firmware, but if you use the Nokia pheniox service tool you can get the relivent files from their fimeware archive to flash as a last resort

In total its about 1.3GB with 6 files (this is for the unlocked swiss version), if theres a problem i can upload it somewhere for people to download
I hope this will be of some use or if its not, someone will tell me exactly what they are after. Otherwise i dont know if a source code request would be help achive the goal. (My hope is to get more people onboard)
The way i see it, there is alot of talk about the death of meego and yes alot of people have/will jump ship and move onto Intels next attempt, but there is enough fans out there to keep it somewhat going and since Nokia has decided to sell a product, they should support it for at least a year if not two.
I have had a long look at what is avaliable on the Nokia store and the quality of the free apps is outstanding, the paid apps are for the most part in the same boat, but there is a fair few ports of rubbish found on the competing stores asking for your hard earned cash.
err, i dont know else to add, but
Ciao!

Sailfish/MultiROM for the OnePlus One
I'm familiar enough with the process of porting/building SailfishOS that I could probably get it running on the OnePlus One in less than a weekend. The hardware looks similar enough to the Nexus 5 - at least as far as the Qualcomm parts are concerned - that it should be a fairly simple port.
I've been trying to save up for a new phone for a while, but I haven't found one that I like enough to buy at unlocked-phone prices.
Call me cheap, but I felt like I overpaid for my Nexus 4 - which I probably did, because I traded a tablet for it.
I don't tend to develop low-level stuff like this for phones I don't own or at least plan to buy, but I have a long history of "porting" Linux distributions (mainly Debian and non-Unity, "desktop" Ubuntu) to Android phones by modifying the kernel to load the root filesystem from a microSD card, among other things.
Before you get too excited, remember that I may or may not be able to get everything working immediately - just look at how long camera support has been missing from Sailfish on the Nexus 4. On that note, the Sailfish camera HAL is in flux right now, but once it stabilizes, getting the cameras working should be easier.
By the time I get an invite and get around to buying a One, there's bound to be other people working on it, especially if this is as important as I think it is.
TL;DR: In a few weeks I should have money, in another few weeks I should have a device, and shortly after that there should be code.
I'm pretty confident that it should be relatively easy to get the port started, but don't expect miracle-speed progress towards getting all the hardware working.

MULTIROM for the Oneplus is a port, the Sailfish support is a reflection of this. You'll need a working image of Sailfish .. AFAIK no-one has made one yet for the Oneplus.
Anyone know if this is being developed?
I would love to see sailfish on the oneplus one. Does anyone know if this is being currently worked on or if there a compatible version out there on the net?

were you part of the lollipop port for the fassy? or are you just a close bystander?
aries kernel and aries-common was already updated. the only work that needed to be done was to bringup the device tree. i provided the files to xc racer and helped him with partitions. then i tested the build and showed him what needed to be fixed. he is responsible for the bringup, i'm responsible for debugging, and humberos did the kernel. several people did aries-common. i'm now going to be the maintainer for this device. and will be responsible for improving performance, compatibility, and doing bug fixes. the kernel still needs a lot of work.
EDIT: and hhp was my tester and will remain so.

My fascinate is my best dev device I have! My only other dev device is my LG Lucid, but it is very buggy and I can't get binary blobs or even compile for it. My other devices have locked bootloaders, that's no fun.
FYI, Ubuntu 14.04 with LXDE desktop environment is probably the best dev environment, because Unity just takes too much power!

screw off with that. i have arch on my p4 box. i'll let you see my kernel later hehe. ubuntu even with lxde would make me puke. i sont even have a mouse plugged in. tty1
p.s. windows 10 pro makes me happy. uefi bios updater. alpha drivers for everything. all 'paid' version software. vmware ws pro puts out enough power for me to make every now and then builds ok. i grew up on xp.
as you can tell though, im a rolling release type of guy. anything less is unacceptable.
I love the T580. The screen is nice, speed is good, and though it has smaller storage it's livable.
So of course I want to break it.
I'm willing to put in the time to try my hand at building LineageOS for it, but I'm not too familiar with the innards of the Tab A 10.1.
I try to get devices that can and will eventually be rooted for custom ROMs, but it seems the Tab A is falling under the radar.
If anyone has any tips on how to begin to build for this device, I'll start researching it on my off time. I'm finishing a semester of college with a paper and test coming up, but I could use something to take a break from it all.
I would love lineageOS on the galaxy tab A 10.1. I think this is probably somewhat more doable now that lineageos has been ported to exynos devices (S7)., though still rather difficult given the historic challenges of exynos processors.
I would start by checking out the development threads for the S7:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-unofficial-lineageos-14-1-galaxy-s7-t3529197
Also check out the exynos lineageOS repos:
https://github.com/search?q=org:LineageOS+exynos
I believe the SM-T580 has the 7870 octa processor, which hasn't (to my knowledge) been worked on yet.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exynos
I also believe that the 2015 galaxy tab s2 had an exynos processor, and it has had CM/Lineage for a long time.

Everytime Samsung adds internal storage, they also pile in more bloatware. I'm happy to add the storage I need with the SDcard.
It looks like Samsung's new 2017 A series of phones will have the Exynos 7870 chipset, and they're testing for Android 7.0 now. Maybe when it's released we can get the device/vendor/kernel for it, as someone will probably work on getting Lineage to those phones.
Edit: Found a device and kernel github. Now all we need is vendor and we can do an initial build, correct?
Putting the githubs here for notes and comments on usability.
Device:
https://github.com/Siddhant-Naik/android_device_samsung_exynos7870-common
Kernel:
https://github.com/jony1512/android_kernel_samsung_exynos7870
I'll throw my name in the hat for beta tester. I'm super excited to see AOSP on this beast of a tablet.

Yeah, I've had a T810 and T710 and tried all of the custom ROM. Not a single one of them was fully functional. No mic, no bluetooth, no fingerprint, no Netflix or Hulu. The list goes on and on. One ROM will some fixes and another one, other fixes, but not one of them has all the fixes.

Unless there's a way to pull the vendor files to at least try to start compiling, probably. I've been looking but I don't see anything popping up for this device.
I'm going to see what I can do when I have time next week to see if I can make my own vendor files. If I can get that going maybe I can make something work.
I don't know how any of this stuff works (I am just a huge cyanogen/lineage fan), but Android 7 is on it's way for the SM-T580 and maybe this will change things?
wi-fi.org/product-finder-results?keywords=SM-T580&op=Search&form_build_id=form-E2SKAR_pL0qT-lyXzsaO3tC2FxauQYig4_Bdh2ULq1o&form_id=wifi_cert_a pi_simple_search_form
So I tried to compile LOS14.1 yesterday to no avail. I don't know if I'm doing it right and if the name of the build is mine (it shows #1 as full-eng, and the list doesn't include the board name build). I keep getting errors when it tries to build ninja saying it can't find "bacon", but did I mean "racoon".
If anyone has any experience building let me know what you do. The tutorials I've been trying to use aren't really set up for troubleshooting even when you follow them to the letter.
So Nougat is hitting the T580. Any one know how to pull the drivers and other needed files to make Lineage?

Wow! When I hear ? a few, that got me excited. I've found the kernel and binary source and soon my computer will be chugging along. This is my FIRST custom rom. Hope it works
My sister actually has a SM-T580 but she won't let me do any testing on it. ROM should be ready this weekend. I'm going to need some help with testing.

Which Android version/ROM?
Hi all,
Does anyone know what roms are compatible with the Tab A 10.1 2019 version? I see a lot of roms for 2016 version but not for the 2019.
Running stock Nexus, and I don't have any complaints except that you hardly can customize it yourself. I have a bought icon pack but can't use it for example.
Greetings Rick
I've actually just flashed a number of ROM's for this baby in the last few weeks - there are plenty to play with.
I settled on this as I think it was the best overall:

Have fun.
Thank you for the time to respond Where are you looking for when finding a Rom. Im on Nexus stock aosp based. But there are still some things I would like to see different. As I only use the tab for 1 game. Still chrashes, issues with keyboard. So I don't mind customizing it.
Greetings from Holland
Yeah it's a good tab, for its price. So I'm kinda buffels by the fact that there is hardly one on this forum.

There are two other custom ROMs for the T510. LOS 17.1 and a Nexus version based on Android 9. I've been using the Nexus 10 one for months and have never had a crash or keyboard problem. Maybe it is the one game you play that has the problems.

Always a posibility, still i seem to have a habbit of trying stuff out.
Don't know if I should post this under OP but it's in the same line of it. Like I said love to tinker around with software for 10 years ago or something I got a budget phone that in the end would not update Android anymore so that was the moment I came to the conclusion that my model then was a better version of the original. Kinda like in this case, tab a 2016 and 2019 will differ in chipset etc. But tab a is tab a. So I started to go head in and toke a dive into the Android world, met some interesting people including the legendary Mr Carvalho. But... Im not posting this because I like to write or want you to read a book so let's cut to the case, im reading up a bit with customizing etc. Starting where I left off, installing ADB drivers again MTK drivers C++ all that good stuff. But then I kept reading, and correct me if I'm wrong but did you guys crack the code? The sometimes impossible to port source code? Or am I getting that GSI wrong. The software from the OD will be used to power the custom Rom so finding and combining code is almost a thing of the past? I tried to flash one last night to see if it really was that easy. Managed to get the tablet into a recovery bootloop. Installed the Nexus Rom again now the Los version. So I guess I did something wrong I think to know what it whas but before I make a paperweight from it, I think it's better to ask first.
So GSI, restrictions? Things to look for. Is it possible on this device?
Device is Treble ready
Supports A/B Arm
So it should right?
Off topic. This is a question for the Nexus Rom. Why are some Samsung features disabled? Like screen recording. Used multiple now all end up recording 0 or no internal audio. Other Samsung features like the camera, mail service etc. Only thing I'm searching for is the screen recording function with internal sound. Anny way to enable it or an alternative?
Thanks in advance.

Utter nonsense. The only thing "Tab A" tablets have in common is the name.

I understand that.
wHEN TO PAY
So I would like to start by saying great job, I agree with house things where set in place in the long run, I would say lets wait on future runs, just because it was future runs that caused an issuee. Either way thqanks for the recommendations but this seems like it will be a judge appointed issue., i appreciate everything but+
I use the Nexus, Android 10, AOSP-based rom from Magedanz. I works great, I tried LOS 17.1 and LOS based Nexus as well, but settled on the AOSP based due to the lack of support of the 400GB microsd I have in my T510 from LOS and the LOS based Nexus rom not able to read my microsd. The AOSP rom read it just fine and was able to format it correctly.
