Hi gals and guys,
I'm recently bought a Note 4 (SM-N910F). I have 14 days to return it and I want to check for known defects. I've scoured the forums but I didn't find that much:
S Pen working on all the screen's surface (no blind areas)
IR blaster not working or working intermittently
Do you have anything else to add?
Many thanks.
check GPS works
check the SPen button works
check the AFC works if you use fast charge
check knox works and you can create a knox container
check sd card slot and sim slot works
check speaker works and bluetooth/nfc works
camera burst mode with ois in daylight/fast motion and landscape at night with no blurring
Many thanks for your reply, will check all of it right after sending this message.
Anyone else care to chime in?
Hi,
check if overheat under load and the overall gaming performance. Basically if the phone can handle heavy 3d games for more than an hour, it can pretty much handle everything (well for me it does not).
I am in a similar position as you, bought the note 4 a few days ago and not sure if I'll keep it.
I've actually created a thread for that, but it seems no one cares to respond (apart from iNeri)
pls see my opinion so far http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/note-4-sd-805-gaming-issues-t2999200

Samsung devices are made for long lasting uses and is premium quality. Here are some statistics from Samsung Defect Management Facility:
(2010-2014Q4)
1) LTE Modem Defects--> .00000493%
2) Dead Pixels---> .00000291%
3) Battery/Charger---> .00000113%
4) SoCs---> .00000098%
Every other defects are less than .00000001%.
Note: My point is.. You can trust your device, you don't have to go overboard testing if all components are working fine.
Check for gaps around the screen, check the back cover is flush with the screen. Check the buttons are ok.
I do love this phone, but it is cheaply made. The buttons click awkwardly like cheap plastic, there are gaps around the screen although negligable and the back cover is not completely flush.
As for Samsung's statistics, they can stick em.
I didn't see a thread on this so thought I'd post one soon as I just got one from banggood. I'll leave the proper review to techtablets Chris but I thought I'd post a couple of bits for anyone thinking of getting one.
Firstly it comes stuck in chinese (single language OS) as a word of warning this guide killed the OS dead for me: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...interface-language-on-single-language-version
I have since recovered with from win10 pro and used the onda drivers from their site and everything is working great, in fact it is unbelievably fast compared to my Teclast x98 air II 64gb, in fact most of the benchmarks are over double.
I am looking at picking one of these up, but I do have a couple of questions. How bad is the battery life and how warm does it get? Oh yeah, will it work with iPad Air cases?
And most important, is the OS 32bit or 64bit?
I would say you'll get about 5 hours tops with web browsing on medium screen brightness. Its gets quite a bit warmer than my teclast air x98 II but not burning hot.
Depends on the case, the dimensions are identical apart from its fatter by a few mm (also fatter than the bay trail v919) I have a air keyboard which clips over the front that works ok but I could definitely see some cases being a problem with it.
Mine came with single language chinese 64bit, but trying to hack a new lang pack into it caused it to break so I had to install my own win10 pro.

Is the Windows 10 license locked to that Chinese version, or could you just install Windows 10 over top, like a recovery install and still use the license it came with?
My understanding from reading around is that you can backup the key and reinstall using the single language version of your language and it should activate with that key. I can't confirm that works as I put pro straight on.
A guy on another forum who got one (not from banggood) came with win pro in english but it wasn't activated, not sure if he had any issues if/when he tried.

Received my v919 3G Core M yesterday. bought it off China's biggest online shopping site, Taobao. The specs is amazing and fast!
Like you too, I'm pretty disappointed with the single language win10 installed in it. I immediately wanted to install win10 pro myself but just to be safe, I contacted their online customer service.
they told me not install my own version of win10. I found their firmware from Onda's official site and it's 7GB+ from baidu online storage. (taking me ages to finish the download. still downloading now) i'm sure what version of win10 is it though.
pretty glad i saw your post! just want to clear some doubts before I continue with installing my win10:
1. can you dual boot to your android os after installing your win10?
2. is your 3G working fine?
thanks!
Mine came single os and tbh I'm not interested in having android on there, I will at some point probably dual boot ubuntu so I can use it as a on the go dev environement.
3G works but is very slow, I've not seen it go above 1mbps up/down my LGg3 is about 4x faster in the same conditions/signal when set to 3g only. Again not something that bothers my as I will just use my phone as a 4G hotspot if needed.
I have a question.
I don't need Android OS. How to remove the Android OS?
Any guide?
Thanks.
Power Supply Info
Can you tell me some info about the power supply? The specs and the size of the barrel so I can order a second power supply? With only 5 hours of life, I would definitely need another adapter for work..

I'm not sure of the plug specs but I've ordered this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Zozo...Dell-Toshiba-IBM-Lenovo-Acer/32385811075.html
It seems really nice and slim, pretty cheap, and one of the plugs is bound to fit.
The info about the power adapter is on the power brick. Could you post a nice clear pic of the power brick's label? Thanks.

Its 12v 3A but it doesn't have the plug size.
Cases
Have you found a case for it that works? Also, can you post what Windows reports about the SSD, like what does it say in device manager about the SSD. Very curious if it's upgradable. Where are the teardown videos?

There is one thread at: TechTablets.com and another at: ondabbs.cn
i got the v975w and love it but hoping to upgrade soon and want something similar but without certain gripes.
SD card speeds? the v975w has a few issues with sd card read/write speeds
does it have a dedicated charge connection or does it use USB? the v975w only has 1 micro usb which is used for OTG or charge but cant do both at once. kinda annoying i cant plug my portable HDD in while charging
how many USB?
storage (HDD, EMMC etc) how much and what options?
guessing its just an ipad air case (rip off) like the telcast or my v975w?
i prefer that, getting cases/covers its alot easier

No reason why it wouldn't boot to a desktop I guess, as for what drivers are supported out the box I have no idea, I have a bigger ssd on order so I can dual boot it.
I suspect not everything will work, but I'm pretty hopeful I'll be able to get enough working. Battery life will probably be poor though.

Actually I just tried this for you, I booted the live daily x64 off a usb:
Working:
3G
Sound
MIC
Suspend
Rear Camera, although it is rotated 180 degrees (prob easy fix)
Volume rocker
Brightness
Not working:
Rotate Accelerometer
Touch
Wifi (prob easy fix)
As soon as I have a bigger ssd in this thing I'll do some tinkering, I suspect we can get mostly everything working, its already in kinda of a useable state.
EDIT: In fact reading here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Windows-Tablets/Linux-on-the-Stream-tablet/td-p/4829188
The bottom 3 fixes would probably get everything working as this tablet uses RTL8723B wifi and a goodix touchscreen.
I'm looking for a cool, unique phone. I don't use my phone much, mostly for SMS, playing music on the way to/from work, Waze, Uber, and a lot of reading the Web and Reddit. No heavy games.
As some have mentioned, there are sites where it's about $200 CAD, which I'm assuming is them getting rid of stock.
Any thoughts? It's either the Yotaphone 2, something else, or wait until the bendy Galaxy S8
Hi Jonathan
As a very proud and happy Yotaphone 2 owner, I definitely recommend it.
First of all, I'm still in love with its second screen.
My main EPD panel shows clock & battery+ notifications + switch tools (mobile data, wifi...). Think that all these infos and options are always displayed and accessible with a double-tap, and that's perfect. When you discover that it's possible, you realize that should be mandatory for every device, in fact.
I think I use the EPD 80% of the time, it's perfect for all the messaging apps, for example. Twitter also works very well. Generally, I find activities like typing or reading very nice on the EPD, because you can take your time. It may not seem like an obvious edge, but I came to the conclusion that's soothing and good for mental health.
Aging? I think I'm not a smartphone power user, like you, and I don't play much. Yet, it still perfectly handles Internet navigation and apps (GMaps, Pokémon,...).
And, last but not least, the people around me love it. It draws attention, and for some, it's even viewed as some kind of magical device.
Beautiful, nice to handle, build quality, there's so much good to say about this device that I can't do it alone. For me, its bigger flaws were related to my extensive use of the EPD : no EPD backlight, the lack for more and more EPD apps, and their lack of features (compared to the not-EPD apps), but even that is improving with system updates (another big one rolled just yesterday, in Europe). It could also use SD card and second SIM slots, but it would be too close to perfection.
Thanks to the guys in Yota.

Hi MonsieurSun, thanks for your opinion.
I also interested in that device and this is one of the forums with more Info about it.
I have been reading and I have thought about buying a case tpu but do not know whether to buy also screen saver. I would like to know your opinion also on better version of firmware and the various extensions to the EPD screen I've seen on the forum. Thank you and sorry for my English.
Hello
You are asking about the accessories, right ?
I just bought a plain black bumper a while ago, and nothing else. It cost around 10€ and saves the phone from bad falls (it did for me twice) and protects both screens. My screens still look like pristine ones, one year after purchase.
The most recent firmware EU .124 I already mentioned contains a lot of nice improvements and fixes, though it also brought one new and annoying bug : the EPD screen randomly (haven't found any specific pattern yet) freezes when typing SMS. It can be de-frozen with a simple lock/unlock, but it happens often to me. This is the only drawback so far, the update is very, very useful, but it's pretty obvious and upsetting.
As for applications, I installed several EPD tools from the store or from the forum, mostly the ones adding switches, but I ended up disappointed. My wild guess is that most of them would need me to root the device to bypass some privileges to work well, and I don't plan to root it. Typically, I wanted a mobile data and GPS switch, but these just invoke the parameter page where you have to switch the... well, switch, yourself.
I also installed a Playstore clock app with more infos, but the clock does not refresh itself every second, and minutes can go by without displaying the right time. Pretty useless.
To sum it up, I think that most of these apps work fine if you use them on a rooted phone, unlike me.
The EPD apps delivered by Yota work fine, and there's a thread around here just about ideas for new EPD apps.

Does it have a SD-Slot?
No, it does not have any extra slots. I still don't have any issue with its 32 Go storage, but I guess some will.
To me, the extra screen is a nicer bonus
And I should also mention something about its charger. It's a nice-looking one (lights up when charging), and it looks very fast compared to most ones I saw before and since. Full charge from zero is done in less than 2 hours. I saw some deep review about it somewhere in the forums...

But is your yotafon working fine anyway ?
Yd206 or yd201?
Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a yotaphone 2.
But which one should I buy?
Hardware info about both is a bit fuzzy.
Am I correct that yd206 has Snapdragon 801 and yd201 has Snapdragon 800?
Im on European 4g T-Mobile network, so supported band might be an issue.
Please if someone has any info, respond here
Thanks.
The only chinese shop with the current low price (120-140€) that offers the international version with all 4G LTD bands is coolicool.
Check it there. I orderded there a couple weeks ago. Still waiting to receive it.

Efox has it too for similar price (http://www.efox-shop.com/yotaphone-...moled-fhd-bildschirm-android-44-4g-l-g-297740). Efox has not-so-great user-experiences lately, so might hesitate to buy there..
I like to hear whether there are more differences between the two models (Snapdragon 800-801?)
For this price I also can buy the Xiaomi redmi Note 3 Pro or LeEco (LeTV) Le 2 X620, which have double the Antutu score AND are supported above Android 5.0.
But they are less cool, without the E-Ink :-/
Quite in two minds here...

Antelife, tinydeal, coolicool, efox-shop, myefox ...aaand probably some more I don't remember a.t.m - it is all the same seller. AFAIK they even share the same PayPal account (AUKEY INTERNATIONAL LIMITED). So it doesn't really matter which one you'll choose - but I'd advise you to pay with PayPal and use their protection if sth. goes wrong.
I have ordered my YD201 @efox for 129€ + ~15€ taxfree shipping to EU, but with code YP15 you'll get 15€ off so it's like a free shipping.

Both models have snap 801 (there's a new review by s7yler on YT - he had YD201 and you can see on his video that cpu-z shows 801).
Only difference is in radios (and preinstalled OS).

I had 2/16 version of RMN3P - grreat device ...with medium screen and camera quality. As ygrigory wrote before - it is overall newer and better device (spec-wise ...but still midrange, so I'm not talking about build quality here). If you will have EPD as a fancy gadget, I guess that in a long run you'll regret buying YP2. But if you read a lot ...you need to answer yourself - do you really need a higher Antutu score?

Hey guys and girls,
I want to buy a full android watch and spent the afternoon reading through the forum and watching the YouTube videos where all the watches are presented...
Now I narrowed it down to the Lemfo Lem5, the Finow X5 Plus and the No.1 D5+...
As far as I understand the Lemfo and the Finow are pretty much the same, right??
The main reason for this thread is, that I landed on a big smartwatch selling page and there it said that both the Limfo and the Finow DONT have WIFI... But everywhere else it says that both models have WiFi on board... So to be 100% sure I wanted to ask you guys who own the watches...
Thanks in advance for your help...

I am the same, I do not know which of these three models to choose, which one has the best after-sales service and best community? What is the best of the three?
Enviado desde mi SM-G935F mediante Tapatalk
Three of them are very similar, so you have to take the visual aspect into consideration, I am most in favor of LEM5 it looks the best for me.
I have one question regarding FINOW X5 Plus.
Is it waterproof? Or just IP55/54?
I can`t find this info...
Lemfo has IP55.
1- LEM5 and X5+ are the same watch under different brands
2- All three are supported by a +8000 member community specifically geared towards these round full android watches. This includes a large number of custom faces, firmware, custom apps, tech support and so on.
3- The D5+ is part of a larger family of watches spread across multiple brands as well.
4- All three of them have wifi. Most of those selling sites couldn't get the specs right if their life depended on it.
So what it comes down to really picking is 1 button vs 3, LCD vs OLED, smaller watch vs larger watch.
EDIT
About that IPx4 or x5 rating, don't trust it. IPx5 is 12L/minute water jets from any direction with no issue. Basically this;

The reason why I wanted this is that I am using windows phone and the app situation is not really awesome... I thought a full android watch could fill that gap in some situations. But now I figured that NFC is necessary for some apps (e.g. mobile payment at my local grocery shop). Do you know a full android watch with NFC?
Thanks a lot!

EDIT
About that IPx4 or x5 rating, don't trust it. IPx5 is 12L/minute water jets from any direction with no issue. Basically this;

I`m only curious about waterproof during heave rain or washing my hands, not more.
On LEM5 spec it`s mentioned about it, but not as it comes to X5+. But for me, X5+ looks better and I`m keen on it more. I only need some proof I can use it during washing hands or heavy rain.

If you want contactless payment you don't need NFC. Hexxa Atenea has chip & PIN support via an insert in the band. If you live in the U.S. though, forget it. The U.S. only recently started using the decade old older chip & signature system, which is incompatible with chip & PIN.
If you want NFC, you will not find a single smartwatch with fully working NFC. Not Apple, Wear, Samsung, or full Android.
having the same doubts, I bought three and teste: D5+, Finow X3+, and LEM5.
LEM5:
the good: it's prettier, larger, has three buttons and I really like the interface.
the bad: the battery. it last for 8 hours when I basically do not use it
D5+: ,
the good: battery life. this lasts forever.
the bad: only one button. the interface is not that cool
Finow X3 Plus:
the good: battery lasts ovefr a day with regular use. the two buttons make it easy to use.
the bad: visually my least favorite one, screen is a bit small for my eyes, not a fan of silicon band.

What you have done here is collected just about all the copyright protected faces and launchers ever made and distributed them without permission.
You do not own any of them. You did not make any of them and you have been reported - not just to the XDA admin team but to outside agencies as well.
What did you think you were doing ? It's a blatant act of piracy .......
hello
I gave the same dilema... I want of those, but don't know which one to choose...
is their thickness the same as below? Is the screen from the No.1 D5+ the IPS or OLED one?
Lemfo lem5 1,39"-400*400 48*48*12mm
No.1 D5+ 1 1,3"-360*360 46*46*13mm
Finow X5 plus 1,39"-400*400 48*48*13mm
tks
The new Kospet smartwatch, Kospet Optimus Smartwatch, it has dual operating system and dual processor, it look like a good feature, but it could be just a gimmick and just little impact on the overall performance of the smartwatch.

when they find the way i will buy it,no reason to buy,is the same Android 7.1 as the others nothing more. For Android act as a phone same problems or issues, not Bluetooth phone call, same display 1.39" , bigger is better as the Lemfo LemX, the resolution i can said better a little, yeah waterproof at least we can swim for 30 minutes,,we dont about the speaker if is louder or decent even the where are place it, Amoled no good for outside. So for the other MCU(SoC) the nordic, can do a lot of more, they call it Lite OS and as you can see and search this SoC in cheaper regular Bluetooth Smartwatch can do; Health, outdoor activities,Bluetooth notfication and call answer and rejection and fitness with better implementation of the GPS..
So will see
The second processor will dig in if you go to the limited mode where you basically don't have a smartwatch, but a watch. Is this what you look for when buying a smartwatch? I would say no. This is a really poor made device imo. With its gigantic battery for a smartwatch it will stay in stand by mode for 5-7 days. Please note that this is only stand by. If you actually use it, it will last 2-3 days(for example take a look at banggood where they list this). Ofc they say this is with 4g, but it is unknown what the "persistent" mode is.

its really a dump idea because its not implemented, for what reason i need a bracelet mode if i am using the watch as a phone and i wont get get nothing, the only way to work is with a second small display in the band.
I had one of the first Kospet devices and I liked it but it lacked the Lite OS and the always on display. I purchased the Optimus Pro and it arrives this week. The 3GB/32GB version.

I just returned my Kospet Optumus Pro - nothing but problems
Pay attention to these details:
Fresh out of the box - you must setup the watch for language and body height/weight/gender - then when the QR code pops up - follow the exact procedure on video below to install the SPECIAL VERSION of WiiWatch 2 app on your Android phone
https://youtu.be/WquMzVsXBmk
Avoid the WiiWatch 2 app on Google Play Store here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.weitetech.WiiWatchPro&hl=en_US
This is crucial procedure for all owners of the Kospet Optimus Pro - as this special WiiWatch 2 app version is required to install all the latest firmware for each processor in the Kospet Optimus Pro
On my Kospet Optimus Pro, problems began right after I installed Google Chrome Browser - (to gain access to all my Google account password credentials for all the URL web sites I participate on ( lots of forums)) - the Heart Monitor stopped working, and the raise watch to enable the watch display stopped working too. Next I entered the new Low Power mode , and thats when I discovered the Watch internal silent alarm buzzer would start, and never stop and just remained buzzing the whole time - sadly I made this discovery after the watch had been sitting on a desk buzzing for 15 minutes straight!
Only recourse is turn off the watch - but that did not function until after I placed the watch in the USB charging cradle , then it responded to the upper right side power button ( long 30 second press) - after a full 2 hour charge , I removed all apps, and verified I had the latest firmware version
Kospet Optimus Pro firmware reports
Build Number = Kospet_Optimus_Pro_V1.5_20190523
KERNEL VERSION = 4.4.22
Thu May 23 16:56 10CST 2019
Baseband Version MOLYLR12A R2.MP.V5.23.P10
SERIAL NUMBER - 0123456789ABCDEF ( WTF?)
Frankly it smells like I may have a counterfeit Optimus Pro - other owners might want to review their "About Watch properties and inspect their serial number , as surely a S/N of "1234567890ABCDEF" is not valid!
https://youtu.be/0Ne11J7U-0w
Here are the results - no third party apps installed and no Sim Card installed
= non stop buzzing in low power mode at all times - and no remedy from Kospet Support -they point me to the useless "FullAndroidWatch.com forum
https://discourse.fullandroidwatch.com/t/kospet-optimus-pro-constant-buzz-in-low-power-mode/47540
And tell me "Update firmware and reset" - did that several times - no fix
Had to return watch to Ebay seller

Greetings, mate can you tell me your experiences with this watch please, how are you satisfied with it? How long last the battery? Are there any good apps for that circle resolution? Thx.

the most of the apps will work as there is an option to make the screen square. there is also an other option to optimize 3th party apps.
as for the battery life it's not bad at all. I use mine with sim card installed and I did not run out of the juice at the end of the day yet. so surely 1, maybe up to 2 days of "normal" use
in the "long standby" probably a week or two on one charge. I switch between the two modes depending on if I want to take my phone with me or not.
much on this watch remains to be fixed (gps integration with the stock fitness app, a working tethering app etc), but for what I use it ( 2nd phone and audio media consumption) I'd say it's pretty cool.
best regards
Kospet watches are nice to wear BUT they are not compatible with the VERIZON network. Sprint only offers a Dara plan, no voice or text. No matter who you have the phone can not make bluetooth calls.
It turns out to be little more than a wrist watch that doesn't offer near what you think.
