Loving the device so far. Buttery smooth, powerful and very cool looking.

I wrote a whole review
...and the forum lost it when I posted it.
So, if anyone has a question I'll try to answer.
I'll try again...
After owning a Razer Phone 2 since release and getting fewer updates over time and facing a £200 repair bill for the front and rear glass, I've been looking for an upgrade.
My main uses are browsing, messaging and listening to music.
The Razer was great, the loudest phone speakers I've ever heard, so the first test was to put it side by side with the BS3 and queue up The HU Band's 'Yuve Yuve Yu' and press play.
The BS3 was clearly louder, I had to knock the volume down 3 clicks to balance the sound.
The screen is also noticeably larger, filling most of the phone.
Another win over the Razer is the 3.5mm socket although this prevents it from getting an IP rating.

Does the Black Shark 3 have a Metal Back Panel or is it all glass?

No, the headphone jack never prevented any phone to get an IP rating. People need to stop believing dumb nonsense like that.

Ergonomics (in-hand feel)

Please, no "that's what she said" jokes. Rate this thread to express how you think the Moto G5S feels in-hand. A higher rating indicates that it's comfortable to hold for long periods of time, even in one hand. Resist the urge to say "TWSS" just now. Seriously.

While the phone feels absolutely smooth and premium to touch, it tends to slip. I was surprised by the lack of grip on the phone. Has to used with a gripped back cover, no excuses.

Yeah, I gave up on a G5(S-less) to pass it to my father and I'm surprised to see how it was way better on the hands. The G5S is huge and encased on polished metal, which may be easy on the eyes, but a pain to handle.
My worst Moto ever
I am a high end user and I have previously used Moto G3, G5, E3 Power. Over all the Moto devices I have this came out be the worst.
Pros and Cons through my perspective
PROS :
1. Premium Design
2. Very good cameras
3. Above average battery backup
CONS :
1. Over heating on normal usage
2. Excessive over heating while charging, initially when the device is cool and the charger is plugged in it charges with ~2.5A for the first 10 minutes and as the device heats up, the rate of charging decreases to such as an extent that the rate goes down to 330mA and it shows 3 hours remaining to charge and it really takes around 3 hours then.
3. The display is too hard and unresponsive even compared to cheap Redmi and Vivo phones, I have even come across many people complaining the display is unresponsive and sometimes flickering too. My display too has minor flickering, and when I use night mode apps I see too much flicker.
4. (The worst problem I face) I got the device 2 months ago I have been facing a severe and weird issue, I don't understand if the problem is with the display or something else, what I found is when I type something in WhatsApp or anywhere at the usual speed that we type, some alphabets needs to be pressed twice.
For example if I had to type a word "Motorola", it comes out like "Moorola". I have to cut and type again slowly and hardly. When I just type something like "Where are you going", its comes out to be "Whre are yo goig" or something like that.
I have even tried flashing stock rom, resetting the device, clearing data of keyboards and also using stock and 3rd party keyboards but the problem still persists.

Cover delivered.
So far, I have found a few things that I hope will be better. Connection problems, lack of screen "plastic" as all the others have from the box, USB card reader/usb hub aren't recognized correctly. Only accessible via file management. Lightroom app can't see the reader/USB.
When I get a good cover/case for the phone, I will be able to use it as daily driver, so I'm waiting with more updates. Gaming experience isn't impressive, since there is the connection problem.
Updates:
Just received the asus plastic 3 part cover. And I give the others right. Not worth it!
Anyway, I tried to game again with the cover on. No improvements on the ping. X mode does no difference whatsoever. Or on antutu, x mode raises the score from 299k to 301k.
Hopefully the silicone tpu cover will come to Europe really soon. The asus plastic cover feels like something from wish!

Anyone who wants a headphone jack.
Anyone who remembers the price of Nexus devices.
Anyone that would like SD card support
Anyone who had Google nerf their battery saver settings
Anyone who wants a large phone without a notch
Anyone who is not a fan of 2:1 aspect ratio
Anyone who is worried about durability of a glass back
(but at least wireless charging is back)
I will be buying a Pixel 3, but I would really rather have modern insides in my Nexus 6.

Battery life is going to suck.
Really looking forward to getting the Pixel 3. I will be replacing my Nexus 5 with the Pixel 3, and I'm hoping for 5+ wonderful years with my new love!
The main criterias for chosing the Pixel 3?
- Pure Android
- Strong developer community
- Flagship phone (specially camera-wise)
- Operatable with one hand (!!)
It all depends on the price in Switzerland now! If it's going to be 700USD in the states but 950 in Switzerland, i might reconsider and go with the Nokia 7.1...
I don't understand why people think they need these $600+ priced phones. I consider myself a semi-heavy user and get all the power and functionality I need out of my $250 moto x4.
I currently have a Note 9 and it's more phone than I need, both in size and features. As an example, I'm sure the S Pen is a great tool for many people, but I forget that I have it. I'm going to pre-order a Pixel 3 next week and sell my Note 9 once I receive the Pixel.

If only it were $600+. We need a section in here to review price. At $800 for the base model, it gets 0 points from me on asking price.
I'm looking to upgrade from a Samsung A3. I really want to try a Google device but I don't see how $800 for the base Pixel 3 can be justified when the S9 starts at $720, is currently in the mid $600 range, and will likely be around $450 come Thanksgiving.
Wow. Getting almost as expensive as iPhones...

Don't complain bro, in Canada flagship phones are outrageously priced. The pixel 3 costs about 1300 cad (1000 usd) IF you are lucky and pixel 2 was one of the cheaper flagships. (Pixel 3 costs more)
Sent from my Samsung SM-A520W using XDA Labs
Whaaaat?? I thought it's the same price in Canada as in the US. It doesn't officially come out in Switzerland, but i ordered the 64gb Version vor 889 USD. That's an ok price in my opinion...
I stopped by Best Buy today to check out the PIxel 3s and they look and feel great! The "not pink" xl was interesting to see in person. It's an interesting shade of a pinkish, orangeish, beige? It's hard to describe, but the pics I've seen online are accurate. The notch on the XL really looks better in the real world than it did in the pictures online. The standard sized pixel was in "just black" and looked great too, very light. The screens looked really good with rich color, you can really see the improvement over the PIxel 2XL's screen. I ordered the white Pixel 3, and I can't wait to have it!
Well, I do not see any so-called hands on reviewers showing a white screen and rotating it to demo if the blue hue is present nor a speaker volume test.
Its like everything I read on these sites are being careful not to say ANYTHING negative about the device.
So I predict a blue hue (or reduced version of said) and lackluster tinny sounding speakers that distort at upper volume levels. Not me, not for nearing $1K. But we shall see.
I had to go to Verizon and pick up a Pixel 2 demo to see it there because none of the mainstream media reviews mentioned it.
Canceled, I have three main priorities for spending near $1K on a phone with extended care plan, taking for granted signal strength and call quality are good.
Speaker volume for media, notification & ring tone, felt vibration, and display quality.
I went to Verizon and sampled two P3's and Two P3xls.
(1) I played a UTube video and it was pretty loud enough so then I sampled ring & notification tones and could hardly hear them. Pitifully weak. I know I would not have heard it in my pocket, I played all of them checking the phone settings and was put off by it. No wonder no hands on reviewers mentioned it or words on the vibration motors..
(2.) Vibration is token. Put it in a case and forget it. I use a wallet case on the job and no case elsewhere. It is imperative I hear and feel calls and texts on the job. Its not going to happen with this phone.
(3) The display viewing angle is unacceptably limited with some of the same disaster of last year. If you think side to side is bad tilt it forward.
Folks, if you are an executive that wears thin silk suits working in quiet offices or areas you may be able to hear it ring as is or and feel the vibration in your pockets.
No sir, not for $900.00 + US, its not a premium device, its sucker bait and I'm sure they will hook plenty. I'm sure I could load my own ringtones and perhaps they be louder but this is buying something and having to fix it.
Another bad sign was how hot they were. Yes they are plugged in and on the verge of hot, say Very warm. Not a sign of a smart charging system.
To each his own and good luck but I still like my 5X better than this thing. Sure, I had to root it and load Ex-kernel and max out the volume and vibration, and load load a tweak to fire both speakers, but for what I paid for it in the raw is more like it.

I don't fault you for thinking this, it's all a matter of perspective and opinion. I do think it's odd, however, that people scoff at $1,000 for a device that they probably interact with more than almost anything else in their lives (not advocating this, but generally true).
Think about the difference in price between a base model vehicle and what people generally buy. Whether it's a bigger engine, navigation, safety/security upgrades, people basically always pay thousands more than the base price for features they use occasionally in a device they maybe just drive to and from work.
People spend their money on what's important to them. Since phones are probably one of the most universally "important" items currently in our modern society, it's not that odd to me that they're also expensive on the high end.
As a side note, getting two of them through Project Fi will get you a $799 bill credit. So at least for me and my wife, they're about half price in net cost.

I have my pixel 3 in hand and have compared it to the 2xl. The vibration motor is a huge improvement. I can't imagine how you can't feel the vibration motor on this thing. It'll rattle the phone at its highest setting, and the speakers are definitely a marked improvement over the 2nd generation. I'm not sure if they're louder, but they come off equally as loud and with more clarity at max. In terms of the screen, I can't speak for the 3 XL but my 3 is vastly superior than my 2XL. The viewing angles are significantly better. There isn't a huge color gradient shift when tilting the pixel 3. The black crush isn't nearly as bad (still there, but less so). And I can't think of a single phone that doesn't get warm/hot while charging with the screen running at 100% brightness. Your argument is really confusing to me.

paint peeling off next to volume rocker
I've ordered my OP7Pro on the Community Drop day. Used it with a case from day one. Still, on both sides of the volume rocker the paint (Mirror Gray) peeled off.
Immediately notified the vendor's customer support. They didn't take it really seriously from the start. Needed to follow-up 3 times until they officially answered me. Unfortunately, the response was negative, saying that the peeling off of the paint is not covered by warranty. So, if I want, they can repair it, but I will have to pay the costs.
So, I'm pretty much disappointed by this, since OP is selling this device as a premium one, and this paint peeling off never happened to me before, not even with less premium devices. Also, completely disappointed by how OPS's customer service works and, of course, by their final feedback. Probably my last OP device.
Royal Look & feel
The material used in one plus are of best quality and can be felt by the user as well.
Mine feels and looks like new. No cover, just randoom screen protectors.
Really good overall....but it is HEAVY! I had 6T. The weight is very noticeable. Even in my pocket it is a bit annoying.
Thicker, heavier than the 6T. Can't compare to the 7T...but can imagine that is even lighter than this thing.
Overall build and quality is up there with the best.

Coming from a Note 8, I always felt it was a bit too big in my pocket pants as I usually place it inside my right pants pocket. Samsung was offering a sweet discount on the new Z Flip 5G, so I sprang for it. When folded, it's a bit thick but fits inside my pocket like a champ. The phone itself is very nice looking, I got the Mystic Bronze. It's very striking in appearance, jewel-like. Definitely a fashion statement. I've had strangers ask me what phone it is. They are invariably surprised at the folding aspect of this phone. This is the future, everyone will be sporting a folding phone in a few years. I'm just living in the future today.

It's a great phone. I don't know why you wouldn't want it. Yes, it's expensive but it's worth every penny. Love this phone.
So, I've had it for a week, coming from a S9+, I love it. As has been mentioned, you can get some significant discounts, I would not have pulled the trigger without them.
I read a lot of reviews and felt pretty informed by the time the phone arrived; however, there are some things that I have learned in the past week.
The Screen - The reviews cover screen quality and I was not disappointed. Two things I did not encounter in any reviews that have been eye opening. First, polarization. When viewing the phone vertically the screen is almost unreadable while wearing polarized glasses. This is annoying, once rotated beyond 45 degrees it is usable and is perfect when viewed horizontally. For me, this is a problem when driving as I use the phone for GPS, not a big deal, but I did have to go find a new phone holder for the car that will support the horizontal mount. Also, this makes quick checks of the phone and prolonged use out in the sun a challenge, either take off the glasses and squint, struggle to see through the polarization, or flip sideways. Second, the screen protector. Many reviews mentioned the screen protector and all seemed to present a reasonable level of durability, although, Samsung seems to expect a replacement during the life of the phone. Unfortunately, within two hours of getting the phone I had inadvertantly gouged the screen protector. I tried to open the phone by sliding my thumb in the middle and flipping up (thumbs up). My thumb nail (just cut the day before, definitely not long) dragged across the screen as the phone opened and left a long dent. It was still there the next day when I put my own screen protector on (yeah, I know, Samsung says don't do that), but now I couldn't show it to you if you asked. Samsung's screen protector may have eventually 'self-healed' but I wasn't waiting around to find out. My recommendation, get a removable but strong screen protector, just be careful when you take it off, don't take off Samsung's. Finally, just to reiterate what was in the reviews, the screen is a fingerprint magnet, your own screen protector will help with that.
App Pairs - Something I used once in a while on my S9+, app pairs are not available on this phone (right now), but the rest of the Edge features are still there. There is now an ability to switch into split screen mode with applications from the edge bar, it is confusing and more difficult to execute. What is worse is that the phone and OS/UI will support them, SmartSwitch copied my existing pairs over, I just can't create new ones. Samsung, give me back my app pairs, please.
That's about it, as I said, it has been great so far, I'll update this is I come across anything else.
