Avin Avant 2 head unit J- Android Jelly Baean 4.1.1 - Android Head-Units

Hi there, I'm not sure if my issue can be resolved but I thought I would check. I have a Android 4.1.1 headunit which I used a lot when I first got 4-6 years. I stopped driving that car but have decided to take it out again and I notice that a lot of the apps don't seem to connect to the internet including Play Store, they all seem to say no internet connection. The only app that seems to work is Spotify. The once that don't work which I would like to use are: Google Play, Waze, & Firefox.
Is it possible to upgrade the OS if this could be what's causing the issues as apps get updated ? Or is there a way I can get working apps for this device if upgrading is not an option?

Google Play S4. Stock 4.4.2 - Bluetooth trouble in car

So I bought my Google Play S4 from the Play store maybe 6 months ago. I unlocked it at one point to be able to write to my memory card. But I didn't run any custom roms, and I'm currently running the stock 4.4.2 rom on the phone.
After the update, I got an error nearly every startup. Realizing I hadn't cleared the cache or data since I'd updated, I did this over the weekend and that error went away. First day of use had no problem, but yesterday the phone's battery drained 85% in just 3-4 hours. I put it on a charger at work, got through my dinner plans, and went to pair the phone to the car as usual last night.
Normally when I paired my Note II or S 4, there would be the usual deal, but when it wanted to access the address book, etc... there would be a check box for "don't ask me again". Left unchecked, the phone would disconnect and reconnect to the car fairly regularly. Obviously, I'm used to leaving that box checked and accepting. But after the wipe and reload of 4.4.2, I have no checkbox. And whether I accept syncing the phone book, etc... the phone isn't staying connected to the car!
Anyone else having this problem with 4.4.2? I'm starting to wish I hadn't upgraded past 4.4, since it seemed to work fine for my purposes. And I'm already tired of the problems upgrading seems to have caused.
Same problem to me on S4 I 9505.
The phone disconnect and reconnect to the car bluetooth module regularly (5 - 10 seconds) and when is connected from car's bluetooth can't acces the adress book at all.
I wish I hadn't update yesterday to 4.4.2 and have remained at 4.3 where everything was ok.
LE:
Tested now with my second phone (HTC Desire 600 dual sim) running 4.1.2 and everything it's ok.
Seems that the big problem is in the 4.4.2 not in the car, neither in the car's bluetooth preparation module.
Hope somebody will repair this bluetooth bug soon.
HATE GOOGLE FOR THIS!!! :crying:
After many hours of searching for an workaround about this bug/issue, seems that it's a Google bug, not a Samsung.
Same (plus many others) problems with bluetooth are present in last google 4.4.2 firmwares in Nexus 4 phones.
It's an older issue, has been reported to google since the date of 30.11.2013 and seems that google didn't find a solution for this since now.

Xtrons TL702AP can't access play store?

Hi guys,
Thought I'd ask here because xtrons suck. I recently purchased the TL702AP : http://xtrons.co.uk/tl702ap-7-andro...ereo-with-screen-mirroring-function-obd2.html
I noticed that maps doesn't load and also play store doesn't work. It opens says checking info and gets stuck or if you wait says cannot connect to Google services or something like that. I contacted xtrons and they told me I needed to do an update and sent me a zip with a system update and a mcu update. I did those and it still doesn't work? Then they sent me play store and play services APKs to try but they just fail to install. I'm at a loss as what to do now, and xtrons don't work weekends so contact with them isn't going to happen over the weekend. Any ideas?
Thanks
Xtrons won’t connect to google
Same here? Did you ever find a resolution? I updated with no change? I can’t believe this is a common problem with xtrons? Wish I had heard of it before?? Now I have overpaid for another problem to work out
Im having the same problem. Did you find a solution?

Joying Sofia unit bluetooth audio breaking up

I began having problem with my joying sofia head unit. Bluetooth audio breaking up as if bluetooth signal is weak. After doing a factory reset everything was back to normal. Then after updating google play store (which is automatic), started having problem again.
What I have found is latest version (or versions) of google play services is causing this issue. If I uninstall update and fall back to the factory version, everything is working as it should again. However, youtube will not run without having the latest version of google play services.
Anyone having same issue? Any solution?
Bump.
No one has this problem?
This issue is known on the current update. They said they will fix this in the next update

the only solution for the moment is to downgrade to 1 Septermber firmware or 25 July.
The latest firmware has an issue with the latest version of the Google services and BT streaming acts weird.
Joying knows about the problem and promised an update so next year... maybe... ?!

Are you using the stock launcher or a different one? Mine works flawlessly since the update... if I'm using the stock Joying launcher, which I don't want to use. There are two apps, one is called Bluetooth, for phone pairing and calls, and another called BT Music, for listening to music over Bluetooth... obviously. My issue is that whenever I use the launcher from Joying, both work fine, but whenever I use either Car Launcher AG or WebCarGuru, every time I select the BT Music app it takes me to the Bluetooth app for using and connecting your phone, despite it saying that it's connected to my phone already. Anybody else having this issue? Or found a better app to play music via a Bluetooth connection to another device? One with aux capabilities would be nice too since the stock aux app kinda sucks

I'm using the stock launcher for that very reason.
That was the issue I had with older joying radios as well. BT Music and BT Phone apps are actually the same app and I think they are just opened with some different parameters. For some reason, 3rd party launchers are not able to open BT Music app correctly.

Well that sucks... thanks though. Anybody found any replacement Bluetooth music/aux apps instead? I'd greatly prefer using the launcher I just bought, but if that isn't an option then what can ya do.

If your radio/steering control has a "Source" button then I seem to be able to access the BT Music app that way with a different launcher, if that would be something you'd be interested in. Found that out by hitting source on my BRZ steering wheel on the way home to see if it actually did anything at all, and lo and behold it solved my problem lol

That works because steering button control does not go through the launcher.
Only downside with src button solution is you have to go through all sources until you get to BT music. There is a way to mod source list or assign a button to a specific app, but I believe that requires rooting.
Hey Guys
I just got my unit today and its on July update. I have the same issue but honestly i have no clue where to get the latest Dev update from nither how to update the unit. Could some one please guide me how to do the update ? Thank you so much
5-15-19 - Emailed Joying about my Bluetooth breaking up. The update fixed my problem. Here is their reply:
Thanks for your pictures.
1)First, you need to factory reset the unit. Please follow the steps in the attached file.
2)You can upgrade your head unit with below:
(Urrl link to file removed)
Here I want to confirm the upgrade steps again as below:
1) Download and unzip the updated file with a windows computer.
2) Pls format your SD card or USB disk, copy the unzipped file directly to SD card/USB disk, (do not copy the whole folder or create any folder)
3) Insert an SD card or USB disk directly to the head unit, it will upgrade automatically.
Note:
Better to use FAT32 C10 no more than 32GB memory card or USB disk.
Pls, try a different SD card slot or different USB port if there is an error message or can not update automatically.
Pls, try a different SD card or USB disk if there is an error message or can not update automatically.
Pls kindly have a try.
If still have problems, please let me know.
Thanks!
Google Play Services Update breaks Android Head Unit Launcher
Hello,
I am having a similar problem with updated google play services . It causes the stock launcher on my Head Unit to keep crashing. Even the latest updated of play services does not rectify it. The only work around is to download another launcher. The only problem I have is while using the head unit the message comes up to choose which launcher to use.

SMS sync / send from head unit

Hi all,
Happy New year
I see this has been asked lots before, but I haven't as yet found a simple easy solution. Has anyone ?
I want to access my sms / email from head unit over bluetooth ideally. Headers/ notifications would be nice too.
I thought about using a bigger device such as a tablet, but would have much the same issues Plus charging, storage etc.
Wont be used when driving but when I pull up and go through them and can respond. So not really interested in apps that read them as they come in.
Head unit is a new px5 erising, mtce running android 8 untouched. Works great as is.
Phone is stock S6, android 7. un-rooted. NO usb port. (can only charge wireless)
Happy to install any apps as needed.
I have tried several apps, such as botifier, btnotifier, carmode, easyconnection, hotspot control, several smart 'device' syncs and havent got any to work. Sounds easy but have a couple issues. I dont always have data on as on payg, as most apps seem to want.
Plus not keen on google apps reporting my every whereabouts so dont have Android Auto, telling google execs what colour pants i'm wearing to sell data to advertisers to hound me..
2nd I dont fancy turning on hotspot and messing around to pair up wifi. with every journey (although I have considered getting a small AP, router for the car for both devices to connect to and thus be on the same local wifi network if that helps.)
I'm aware there are about 15 different protocols for it to work on BT which is a p.i.t.a that I dont know which I have on either device. I dont (need to) play music or do anything else from phone.
So is there an android app yet that installs whats needed and just does the simple job of remotely without fuss or needing several trips round the moon to display / reply to my sms texts on my head unit while phone is in my pocket?
Thank you.

Help Autoradio PX5

Bonjours,
I bought an android car radio on Amazon for a Citroën C4 : ZWNAV Android 9.0 Lecteur GPS de Navigation stéréo Voiture GPS ou Citroen C4 C-Quatre C-Triumph 2004-2012 avec Europe 49 Pays Carte SD Carte
All the advertised functionality works perfectly except that I have a big problem.
I can not add a google account, each time I put my username then the password, its remains blocked on "Verification of information".
I disabled the two-step verification, it doesn’t change anything and changed password, created another account.. etc like whatever I do it doesn’t work. I even did a google update, google services, cleared the cache, data, reset the auto-radio several times and nothing changed.
When I install apps via APK, it makes me spit, bug the screen and so force either to restart the car or worse to unplug and reconnect the car battery, I also feel that it does not bug when the radio did not connect to the internet.
I would like to know if anyone would have a solution to offer me to connect my google account or change rom t 'en que ça fonctionne très bien.
Thank you in advance the community
I'm having the same issue on a 10.1 inch 2GB/32GB android head unit branded Hikity from Amazon. Everything works great on the head unit but none of the google apps can connect to the internet. Maps, youtube, google play all say can't connect even though wifi is connected and I can come inside and see it on my router. All I've been able to find is that it may have something to do with the apps trying to communicate through SSL. I can see my ip address in the wifi page but the apps can't access the internet.
I've sideloaded the 4 apps needed for the play store onto the unit and done multiple factory resets but nothing has allowed the google apps to access the internet. I went to 3 friends and families homes to try their wifi but the same issue. I also went to McDonalds and Starbucks and connected to their wifi but the problem is in the software on the head unit. The apps just can't see the internet, they just keep telling me I need to connect to the internet. I've built over 100 pcs and I'm tech support for friends and families pc's and phones/tablets but I can't find a solution and I've been searching for 3 days and have spent about 10 hours in my vehicle trying different fixes.
If you find a solution please let us know, but if I was a conspiracy theorist I would say the cheap chinese head units simply don't like SSL connections because they can't collect data on them very easily. Let's face it they aren't making a lot of money selling that thing for $80 to $150 depending on what store you look at. I believe a custom rom that just gets rid of the chinese android install would likely fix the problem. My issue is that I have no idea if those are available and haven't seen anything that looks like it would work easily from a USB stick since my unit doesn't have an SD card slot but can read from the USB slot.
I hope someone sees this that has an answer for both of us it seems like we have a very similar issue with google apps connecting to the internet.
I I would like to change the rom because I have the impression that it is the Chinese rom that poses a problem on the car radio. For my part Youtube, Google maps and others works but I still can’t connect my Google account and this is a problem for me.
hi! I found a solution in this topic, and for me it worked perfectly: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-software-development/rom-hal9k-mod-v4-mtcd-e-head-units-t4046361
