Hi all,
Apologies if this issue has already been posted somewhere. I did a search, but couldn't find anything.
The iHeartRadio app quit working properly on my Moto G4 last week. Among other things, I couldn't change the radio station it was set to. I fiddled around for awhile but couldn't make it work, so I uninstalled it and tried to re-install it from Google Play Store and it wasn't there! I did a bit of checking, and found a notice that it was no longer compatible with our phones. Huh? I'm running stock Android 7.0.
I did some more research, found the apk for iHeartRadio version 8.3.0 (two versions behind the current one) online and installed it. It seems to work, but it doesn't integrate with AndroidAuto, I suspect because it isn't in the Play Store. I'm working around that by using a different car app.
I sent a note to iHeartRadio techs and got a canned response:
Thanks for reaching out to us. I had our of engineers take a look into the issue you were experiencing and unfortunately our most recent version of the iHeartRadio app is not compatible with Moto G4 devices. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
Our team of engineers are currently working hard on a fix for this issue and we'll be reaching out to you once this is resolved.
Please note that you can still enjoy iHeartRadio by listening on another compatible mobile device or by visiting www.iheart.com on your desktop / laptop computer.
Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

I'm curious about why our phones won't work with this app, and wonder if any of the experts here know.
Thanks!
I began having problem with my joying sofia head unit. Bluetooth audio breaking up as if bluetooth signal is weak. After doing a factory reset everything was back to normal. Then after updating google play store (which is automatic), started having problem again.
What I have found is latest version (or versions) of google play services is causing this issue. If I uninstall update and fall back to the factory version, everything is working as it should again. However, youtube will not run without having the latest version of google play services.
Anyone having same issue? Any solution?
Bump.
No one has this problem?
This issue is known on the current update. They said they will fix this in the next update

the only solution for the moment is to downgrade to 1 Septermber firmware or 25 July.
The latest firmware has an issue with the latest version of the Google services and BT streaming acts weird.
Joying knows about the problem and promised an update so next year... maybe... ?!

Are you using the stock launcher or a different one? Mine works flawlessly since the update... if I'm using the stock Joying launcher, which I don't want to use. There are two apps, one is called Bluetooth, for phone pairing and calls, and another called BT Music, for listening to music over Bluetooth... obviously. My issue is that whenever I use the launcher from Joying, both work fine, but whenever I use either Car Launcher AG or WebCarGuru, every time I select the BT Music app it takes me to the Bluetooth app for using and connecting your phone, despite it saying that it's connected to my phone already. Anybody else having this issue? Or found a better app to play music via a Bluetooth connection to another device? One with aux capabilities would be nice too since the stock aux app kinda sucks

I'm using the stock launcher for that very reason.
That was the issue I had with older joying radios as well. BT Music and BT Phone apps are actually the same app and I think they are just opened with some different parameters. For some reason, 3rd party launchers are not able to open BT Music app correctly.

Well that sucks... thanks though. Anybody found any replacement Bluetooth music/aux apps instead? I'd greatly prefer using the launcher I just bought, but if that isn't an option then what can ya do.

If your radio/steering control has a "Source" button then I seem to be able to access the BT Music app that way with a different launcher, if that would be something you'd be interested in. Found that out by hitting source on my BRZ steering wheel on the way home to see if it actually did anything at all, and lo and behold it solved my problem lol

That works because steering button control does not go through the launcher.
Only downside with src button solution is you have to go through all sources until you get to BT music. There is a way to mod source list or assign a button to a specific app, but I believe that requires rooting.
Hey Guys
I just got my unit today and its on July update. I have the same issue but honestly i have no clue where to get the latest Dev update from nither how to update the unit. Could some one please guide me how to do the update ? Thank you so much
5-15-19 - Emailed Joying about my Bluetooth breaking up. The update fixed my problem. Here is their reply:
Thanks for your pictures.
1)First, you need to factory reset the unit. Please follow the steps in the attached file.
2)You can upgrade your head unit with below:
(Urrl link to file removed)
Here I want to confirm the upgrade steps again as below:
1) Download and unzip the updated file with a windows computer.
2) Pls format your SD card or USB disk, copy the unzipped file directly to SD card/USB disk, (do not copy the whole folder or create any folder)
3) Insert an SD card or USB disk directly to the head unit, it will upgrade automatically.
Note:
Better to use FAT32 C10 no more than 32GB memory card or USB disk.
Pls, try a different SD card slot or different USB port if there is an error message or can not update automatically.
Pls, try a different SD card or USB disk if there is an error message or can not update automatically.
Pls kindly have a try.
If still have problems, please let me know.
Thanks!
Google Play Services Update breaks Android Head Unit Launcher
Hello,
I am having a similar problem with updated google play services . It causes the stock launcher on my Head Unit to keep crashing. Even the latest updated of play services does not rectify it. The only work around is to download another launcher. The only problem I have is while using the head unit the message comes up to choose which launcher to use.
I did have some problems with my Ullgo Android 6.0 QuadCore, so I did a factory reset (reinstal).
When player was up and running again, I realized the factory instalation dosent contain the Navi app, the DAB+ app or the phone handsfree app.
I have reinstalled a navi and DAB+ app, but the phone handsfree, I dont know the name of it or where to find it.
Someone please help me where to find it so I can download and install.
Thanks in advance.
Terje_N, Norway.
Anyone?
Have you tried to contact a manufacturer of your HU for BT app?
Meanwhile you can try to use one of the Play market dialers - you are to be lucky for it to work without factory app, but who knows...
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=dialer&c=apps
The Fu%¤/¤ Ullgo dealer dosen't respond to customers that get problems.
So NO... I dont get any help from the dealer...
And I dont know who is the manufacturer, and dont know how to find out who it is.
Dont buy anything from Ullgo on AliEpress...
Why dealer? Reach them via www.ullgo.com

I have a refunde case going on by AliEpress cutomer service.
After I bought mine, an other customer from Denmark that have bought the exact same unit as I did....put feadback in the add for this unit.
Telling he have the exact same experience as I do...
The unit dosent work as it should. They try to help you out with some updates, but when that dosent solve the problem...no more help to get.
> Didnt you read what I wrote.
No, I am still unable to read your "wrote" from future, sorry.
Ullgo is the dealer...
This is your best bet;
https://github.com/lbdroid/HFPClient
It is *impossible* for any of the play store dialers to work, because they are for PHONES, you need an HFP-Client dialer that sends commands to your phone over bluetooth.
Hi there, I'm not sure if my issue can be resolved but I thought I would check. I have a Android 4.1.1 headunit which I used a lot when I first got 4-6 years. I stopped driving that car but have decided to take it out again and I notice that a lot of the apps don't seem to connect to the internet including Play Store, they all seem to say no internet connection. The only app that seems to work is Spotify. The once that don't work which I would like to use are: Google Play, Waze, & Firefox.
Is it possible to upgrade the OS if this could be what's causing the issues as apps get updated ? Or is there a way I can get working apps for this device if upgrading is not an option?
I installed the Eonon GA9449 radio and connected the A0585 dongle for Android Auto. After downloading the APK file on the Eonon radio, I turned on USB Debugging in the OnePlus 6t Android phone settings. I used the original OnePlus usb cable to connect to the dongle and could NOT get Android Auto to work. I then tried a different data cable and Android Auto would still not work.
WHAT ELSE IS NEEDED TO MAKE ANDROID AUTO WORK?
Is there another application or APK I need to download? (By the way, I never saw Android Auto as an icon or application on the Eonon radio.) Also, what is the "Auto Kit" application mentioned in the following video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHoAZFoSPhwIt because it was not mentioned in the instructions. The instructions mentioned the download of an APK file and provided a link which we successfully did.
I just installed a EONON head unit and I'm facing the same issue. I've reached out to the support team but no response as its a weekend. Were you able to fix the issue you had?
Anyone get it figured out?
Its been since summer 2020 that AA was working fine so I cant remember installing "autoplay" but you can find it here Autoplay . Im going to try installing Autoplay to see if it works.
Heres my thread to try and revive this topic to hopefully figure this out. This has made me realize how laggy the headunit it. AA has been so awesome its all Ive used.
Also I have reached support and waiting response.

Not yet, but I saw the thread that you created and the response that EONON sent you. Also, apart from this issue, for some reason my head unit also keeps randomly restarting while I'm driving, which is pretty scary when the navigation cuts off suddenly.
EONON did reach out and they are working on a solution. But I was able to make mine work by disabling the Chrome app entirely. I didn't use Chrome anyway so doesn't hurt me.
I so have a question about Eplay though. My android auto google maps never goes into dark mode which usually should happen at sunset or be controlled by the headlamp. I have the day/night set to auto in my Eplay app settings.
There is and app called Auto Kit I downloaded directly from the radio web browser and installed it.

I hope this helps!
