Hi there,

I am already facing a critical problem with the sd card.i cannot install most of the games that is movable to sd card(ex:clash of clans will insall but free fire shows error).i have tried both play store and installed manually but it never installed.i unmounted the card and every apps installed like a charm but when i mounted bqck again and tried to move them to the card it showed me error...i have tried to
1.format the card from settings and windows
2.change file system from twrp and windows
3.repairing the card from twrp and windows
4.tried 2 different sd cards
5.tried installing in cm12.1
6.factory reseted twice
7.deleted .android secure folder
8.finally flashed twice using odin
None of them fixed this issue for me.i remember it wasn't like this 6 years ago.finally i have collected the logs using catlog and the last log was something like this.

I can't upload the logs(where can i upload it?)i am really annoyed with this error and this is slowing down my device.
Any help will be highly appreciated!

bad sd card?

I tried to update to the 2.33 jachero rom got a bootloop
tried an older version got a bootloop
tried the dudes build got a bootloop
i then used and old sdcard from my sidekick and i got on the dudes build
i tried to use apps2sd on the stock 1gb card which i previously already had and it said i didnt have a partition on it which i did previously so it set it up and rebooted into a bootloop
is this a bad sd card?
any ideas?
Is it trying to move the /data to the sd? If it is, that would be the issue, Least it was for me when I went to 1.51
sorry havent been on here in awhile been on vacation
i tried upgrading to jacshero2.3 at the time and i just got a constant bootloop nothing would happen so i took an old sdcard from my sidekick lx and put back on the dudes build and it worked but i cant reboot the phone from the sd card i tried to install hero on it will bootloop.
also i lost appstosd nothing saves to the sd but if i open partion manager it says i still have ext2.
and if i use appstosd it says i have to partition my sd card and if i try it the phone reboots and bootloops
Yea sounds like you need to redo the sd card.. Id just save the apps and apps-private folder and wipe the rest. Then put the apps and apps-private back on after you wiped the card then relink them.
is it a simple copy and paste
it started up today wit the sd card so ill reformat it
Its not a simple copy and paste.. Usually if you use linux you need to make sure the attributes are saved as well. cp -a

[Q] Frequent reboot after installing new apps

My nook color stays not much longer than 1min after loading all the apps & just after that it reboots. I've tried installing a fresh rom couple of times & wiping each & everything but just after installing all the apps again, it reboots. Have tried both by installing it manually & restoring through titanium backup as well, but same result. It works fine only when I remove my micro sd. I know that some apps doesn't works when installing in micro sd & that's why I've installed all my apps in internal memory. I never faced that issue when I was using Phiremod v6.3 build. Recently after moving into the latest nightly build, this issue occurred. Please tell me how can I resolve this issue? I've been trying to find the solution from so many days but couldn't able to find. Thanks
You could use ROM Manager to restore the last ROM if you did a backup or just reinstall it. I am a little confused about what you mean by loading all the apps. Apps are generally loaded as you use them, not at boot up. When you first boot up you can usually see the SD card icon at the bottom of the screen before it gets mounted. It is possible the card got corrupted. If you don't have anything on it but app backups and it works fine when the card is out you could try reformatting the card on your PC or with a camera that uses micro SDHC cards.
You also might have a misbehaving app loading on startup.
When I first boot the system, the sd card icon shows at the bottom of the screen & disappears after loading all the games from it. After that I can see all my apps & games in app drawer but after a min, it gets reboot. I only have games in sd card, not a single app & neither any app in my internal memory which loads at startup.
Well if the nook boots and runs just fine without the SD-card inserted, then we can be pretty certain that something on the card is messed up. Lot's of possibilities: Corrupted .apk file, partially corrupted file structure on the SD-card itself, Hell it could also be auto-update panicking because it's trying to update an app that has yet to load off the SD-card.
First thing I would try is formatting the SD-card within CM7.
Also try turning off auto-update
If that fails, connect the SD-card to your computer and scan it with windows to check for any file table corruption.
If that fails, it's hard times ahead for you. You'll have to go through the apps one-by-one to see which one is being the little bastard.
Good luck.
Thanx for The help. But all I have on my SD card is just game. Before installing anything on my internal memory, I restored my games backup 1st to my SD card through titanium backup. It was then working absolutely fine. After that I installed apps manually just to see which app is causung error. But all were installed without any problem, used for a while then I manually reboot. Since then I am getting this issue.

the infamous "SD card is damaged" message

my phones just done this to me today again .. i forgotten not to take it into the chillers again ( the last 5 times I gave in and reformatted the sd cards , but I know their is nothing wrong with it
if i drop into recovery mode i can easily access the sd card
i swap the sd card for other *working* cards and the same issue so I am now thinking its software related with the installed OS
I did a nan backup restore of the OS install ( going back to an old install all worked going back to the current install it failed )
this ruled out dysfunctional slot
so where may the issue be with the install
I am assuming because of condensation on my device at the time it marked something as bad , how would I clear the error ?
first of what rom do you have? there are many that wont read your card until it is formatted correctly. this includes sometimes swap, maybe ext, and of course fat32. in other words a little more info needed, but worse case if you have a backup, just flash new rom, flash backup and call it a day.
i've noticed this happening to me alot these days as well, but i also noticed that if i go to settings- storage and unmount then re-mount the card it usually works fine from there on. maybe u can try that see if it works.
I was getting this message for no reason as well. When it did happen, I would take the SD card out and start it up on a PC with Hiren's BootCD and boot into Linux. I'd open up the partition manager, run a check on all partitions and after everything's said and done, put it back in my phone.
Worked everytime... then they became more frequent & eventually my SD card died. An 8GB card reduced to a recognizable 4GB. never thought that could happen.

Click to collapse
You need to create an ext4 partition I had the same problem these days. Good luck.

Download apps directly to your SD card

I'm new here and I'm not sure if this has been asked or addressed before.
My situation is that I recently got an SD card to hopefully combat the constant insufficient storage issue. What I learnt is that it wasn't that easy. I tried many proposed solutions (link2sd, manually trying to move apps to the sd card from the application manager, using abd to try and change the install location and then finally rooting) but none proved to be the answer.
When I tried using abd, at first it would give me an error message but after going into Terminator emulator and changing it from there, it said that worked, even did pm get-install-location and it said that it was set to the external and even went as far as running cmd from my computer and this time it said it also worked. I downloaded some apps and once again they were downloading to the internal storage.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me with this or at least point me in the right direction.

Deleted 1 Picture in Gallery-->SD Card and All Pictures Got deleted :(

As you read in my title...
I Went to the Gallery the other day and i saw a pic that i didnt like so i deleted it, then i didnt see any Deleting Progress bar or anything and the Pictures Were gone. I ejected and took out the SD card then used a Card Reader to Try and Recover it with softwares like Dr.fone , Wondershare Data recovery, Easeus data recovery, but there was no use cuz everytime it just started scanning the SD card the SD card ejected itself. I think that the SD card may contain a new and improved kind of virus cuz also when i tried to scan it with ESET antivirus and AVG antivirus it did the Same thing (Auto Ejected itself).
So here i am today Asking your Help.
Any Help would be appreciated thank you.
Sounds like your card went bad to me. All the symptoms you describe match a failed card. It's not a virus.

You can use a recovery program to get the pictures. Well most of them
