I need to buy a tablet, but i want one that can run lineage. Any size is ok, but the bigger the better.
Thanks.
Amazon Fire (mustang) 7, but it's lineage 14.1. Be sure to read before committing.

Look to buy Lenovo tablets usually cheap. Lenovo tab 4 8" or Lenovo tab 4 10 plus runs lineage 15.1, 16.0, 17.0

I am looking for an new tablet. As I like the 8 inch formfactor, I would like to buy the 2019 Galaxy Tab A 8.0 T290:

Is there any TWRP and / or LineageOS / CrDroid / Resurrection Remix under developement for this tablet? I dont like the stock ROMs. Thx
I'm interested in this as well. Am considering this tablet as a replacement for my venerable Nexus 7 and I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on a tablet that doesn't have an active developer community. Heck, my Nexus 7 is running Android Pie!

I´m running a LG Tab 8.3 atm, but it´s that slow with Pie, I need a new one....but it´s hard to find a 8 inch tablet, as I know there´s only Samsung and Huawei that do 8 inch tablets with actual hardware
i have an older 7" galaxy tab a (sm-t280) that i use specifically for watching movies on netflix and amazon prime.
it's slow as molasses and frequently has issues connecting to wifi. it's also very un-hackable so there's not a lot i cam do to make it any better. im getting kinda sick of it.
given the hackability of these walmart units, and that they're running similar hardware to the commonly lauded fire tablets, im wondering if i should pick one up as a replacement. was thinking about the 8" model.
thoughts? a better performing unit over my current tabA?
Coming from an older Tab model myself I can tell you The ONN doesn't feel as premium but far better than most "cheap" tablets on the market. I have the 8 and 10 w/keyboard. I also have a Fire 8 (2017). I have the Fire fully debloated and unlocked/rooted. I tend to grab the ONN 8 most often. I actually wouldn't buy the Fire again if I had the option. For the money, I think you're gonna be pleased with the ONN 8!
I am considering getting a Yoga tab. I really like the built in kickstand and features of the yoga tab series. I am wondering if the Yoga tab 3 is worth it, or should I look at the Yoga smart tab. The 3 seems to have better GPU, similar in other specs. I currently have a tab 4 plus, but Prime video stopped being supported recently. I use it mainly for video watching and light gaming.
Yes
Just got one. Yes definitely still worth it. Outrageously good ad useful for what's now a 3+ year old device. Love it and I haven't even put Lineage on it yet.
Bought mine a year ago works perfectly. Sound quality is better that anoy other tablet I have had.
Mine still works pretty well, I was wonder about change stock rom to linage but first I should change my battery, anyone knows where buy it one?
I purchased this nice little tablet to replace my much loved Nexus 7 2013 2nd Gen as it's about the same size with better specifications.
I've unlocked and rooted the tablet and now looking for a decent custom rom... I guess I should have looked for the rom before unlocking but the cart before the horse seems to be my way.
Anyway, are there any custom roms for the M8 FHD?
I was thinking about dabbling with building a custom rom but I don't have any Linux coding experience.
I'd love to get Lineage or asop for this nice little tablet.
Unfortunately there's not much community support for this tablet even though the build is one of the best for us not wanting a 10" tablet. I've searched around here, other ROM sites, and have posted things in Lenovo's forums. From my experience, the Lenovo Android 10 ROM is garbage. It breaks widgets and notifications.
After unlocking mine I was able to go back to their Android 9 image which is still pretty good. It has some issues, but overall it functions well. I don't use the tablet often though.
One frustrating thing is that since Lenovo seems to not care, even though its an FHD tablet, they won't get the Widevine certification needed to play HD videos from the major players like Netflix.
I wish there was more support and love for this 8" tablet. I purchased a Samsung Tab A 8" at the same time and it was really sluggish compared to the Lenovo and didn't have much support for it either.
Too bad this was to be my Nexus 7, 2013 replacement... No roms makes for a boring tablet
I have to agree with you guys. I've had this little tab since June and it has been great. It has been well worth the $100.
I also agree that Lenovo needs to support Android better for its tabs. They have some great hardware that sometimes gets crippled by software. That's definitely the case with my old P10. It's really a great tablet that I would still use but it loses Wi-Fi every 5 minutes and the problem is 100% software.

Hello there,
the post describes my question really well.
searched, but had no luck to find another custom rom. Lineage OS is just not for me.
If there isn't any alternative, how can i get into custom rom development?
There are Lineage 12.1 (aka Anadroid 5.1), Lineage 14.1 (aka Android 7.1) and Lineage 16.0 (aka Android 9.0) ROMs available for the suez.
I tried the 16.0 ROM out, but it's pretty buggy, and doesn't appear to be under active development at the moment. The only release was in feb 2020, and it hasn't gotten any new commits since. Since that ROM is buggy, I decided to try out the 14.1 ROM. It's a little on the old side, and it's a release from 2019, but based on my limited testing this week, it feels relatively stable.
There is a 12.1 ROM available as well. It was actively developed for quite awhile, with the last release coming in 2020, so it's probably by far the most stable. Unfortunately it's based on what is now an ancient version of Android, so it won't work for what I need.
It's a shame there isn't more development for this device, because the HW inside these tablets is decent, given the price point, all thanks to the Amazon subsidy. If you replace the craptastic Fire OS with something better, they are a bargain. I bought several of the douglas/karnak devices for Android testing, and as gifts. I only bought a single Fire HD 10, when I realized how great the screen is (1920x1200) and that the CPU inside is nearly twice as fast as the 8" devices. I got mine as a mint condition refurb for $30 in December.
For comparison when I benchmarked mine (using Lineage 14.1) it performed on par with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7" (from 2016). That tablet tablets still goes for $99 as a refurb.
It's worth noting that the Fire HD 10 actually proved to be faster in single threaded performance, so it should feel snappier, if someone gets all the bugs worked out.
Overall it was roughly even with the S2, because it can only 4 cores simultaneously, while the S2 can use all 8. That made the overall multicore performance roughly equal.
Hopefully someone takes up the mantle and builds a more recent ROM for the suez, but we'll see.
If your still searching for the needed to unlock it, or need the Lineage ROMs, they've been preserved on archive.org for posterity.
