Hi,
This is my first time trying to root an android phone
I'v flashed with Magisk from the github, Used ODIN to do so,
Had OEM unlocked Grey out (already unlocked) in the settings before doing so, and USB debugging etc,
After i successfully flashed with ODIN
I was watching a video and was told to finalise the steps you have to boot into Recovery mode to wipe the phone
Now i followed the button process the person in the video did Vol down + Power to Restart the device from Download Mode
Then Volume up + bixby + power and he said to release the power and bixby after the bootloader warning but i did this and i'v not been able to reach Recovery mode
My samsung is just constantly stuck on the boot Logo after the bootloader warning
but i can restart the phone and reach Download mode again
Would anyone be able to assist thanks
Flash stock firmware.
Also, please keep your issue in your thread. As this is not a patched Odin issue. Thanks

Hi all,
I have a GT i9505 with cyanogenmod 11 installed.
I rebooted into recovery mode using the power menu option instead of the volume up + power + home option, which brought me into a cyanogenmod simple recovery mode. Soon I found my phone is stuck in this mode, pressing reboot phone only sends me back to this simple recovery mode.
I plugged my phone into my computer (that has kies installed), but windows 7 would only provide me with a "dee dee" noise and not able to detect my device.
I am quite frustrated now and don't know what to do. Do you guys have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Nelson
Have you tried entering Odin Mode (Power + Volume Down) and reflashing a custom recovery again?
If not, download Odin 3.07 (you will find it on Google), put your phone into Odin Mode (as I told you earlier), and download a recovery in .tar or .tar.md5 format. Put the file into PDA (or AP if you use a newer version of Odin on your PC) and press Start. Check ONLY Auto-Reboot and Reset Time and not Repartition or anything!. Then, it will flash again the custom recovery and you should be able to enter it using Power + Volume Up.
It may be a bootloader problem. Since it won't boot in anything else but recovery. I had a similar problem with an Galaxy S Advance and flashing a bootloader did the trick.
OMG Thanks Villa_Man!!! You guys rock!
one more thing if you guys don't mind.
When I pressed power + home + volume up, it will still take me to cyanogenmod simple recovery instead of cwm which I have installed.
I am currently booting into cwm via the cwm app. Is there a way that I can change my default recovery to cwm so I can boot into it via the hardware button method?
Cheers guys
Can not boot into recovery due to AT&T update wanting to install, and stuck in BTLP.
My S7 Edge is stuck in a bootloop, USB Debugging is off unfortunately cause the packages all started to crash on the phone for no reason, and now it turned off and entered a bootloop. I can not enter recovery mode cause every time I attempt to enter recovery it prompts a AT&T update and will not let me get pass that yet the update fails every time. I have attempted to reflash to original firmware although ODIN gets stuck on setupconnection every time. Please help!
I had this happen once. I had to enter bootloader (not recovery) and reflash using ODIN. Try some of the different ODIN builds floating around in these forums if you're having problems

hi i have the same problem , can you explain how to enter the bootloader please ,
Bootloader aka download mode: turn device off. Hold volume down, home, and power button at same time.
Remember: volume down for download mode. Volume up gets you into recovery
I was troubleshooting my home button that works from time to time.
So i flashed latest firmware for phone, but im pretty sure i flashed HOME_CSC instead of the normal CSC *FML*
So now when i boot download mode i cant choose by volume buttons, and booting download mode with "adb reboot bootloader" will just reboot rom normally...
Edit: Download mode boots, when using hardware buttons, but cant choose continue in download mode to be able to flash TWRP/Firmware with Odin again.
I guess if i could root it with some 1click method i could try issueing reboot bootloader command from root, but i guess that wont work either and there is no 1click methods AFAIK
Any suggestions?
Would usb-jig work to bypass bootloaders continue screen?
Are you able to boot into recovery?
Yeah i can boot into recovery, i can boot into bootloader too, but i cant press continue..
I can use the Phone semi normally, sometimes home, power or volume Buttons stop working though
In recovery all buttons work, but its the original recovery, so there is not much todo in it afaik?
So I followed this https://forum.xda-developers.com/ta...wrp-install-twrp-root-samsung-galaxy-t3111934 and the best thing ever happened..... Nothing.....
It's a sprint galaxy tab 4 7 inch updated to 5.1.1 SW version T237PVPS1BPL1
So how do I really root?
When in download mode, after flashing twrp, holding power, vol+, and home takes me back to download mode. If i start with device on (or off) and do exact same method, I get stock recovery.
I'm no noob, but most has been htc where the bootloader has to be unlocked first. I have recently rooted 2 samsung s5 devices for my brother doing odin to flash recovery and then flashing superSu. And i have used that crappy app on my tab that floods your device with bloatware (king root) that set off my knox crap. Which has been removed and I lost root.
I'm also aware that some devices, if you don't get into custom recovery as soon as it is installed, then factory one takes over.
So i flash recovery, and progress bar shows finished, but if i hold power, vol+, and home.... It just goes back to download mode.
If I reboot the device, and then hold down above said task, it goes to factory recovery.
Does this fall in the "don't reboot device and go straight to recovery" device? If so, how?
Or, is it not installing recovery?
And why do I get download mode from download mode, and recovery mode from device on/off in normal mode while holding same buttons in each situation?
So here is my situation: SM-G950U with a fresh clean install of stock 9.0 firmware via Odin. Phone reboots, and begins setup. However, I'm met with FRP warning. No big deal, since I know a way around that, but I need to reboot to download mode first and install safestrap to do it. Problem is that neither button hold combination does anything except boot the phone normally. Vol up nor vol down + Bixby + Power provide results from a reboot or a powered off state, except boot the phone normally. I cannot use adb commands either because developer options are not yet enabled because I can't get passed the FRP screen. I should be able to access both modes regardless of what stage of setup the device is in, correct? I know I have before. Is this some kind of security patch? Is there any other way to get to download mode to use Odin? Or a method to bypass FRP without Odin or a custom recovery, or safestrap? I'm really stuck on why I can't force it using the three buttons during boot/reboot. Thanks in advance for your input.
