I think it started after I updated to the new Samsung UI.
So I plug in the tablet to the usb (it sees it as the mpt device in 'mobile devices' section of my computer), navigate to the folder. When I am dragging files over to copy it gives the warning, that I won't be able to play back it (which is wrong). Than it thinks for a moment and states, that cannot copy file due to device was not recognized ot something.
I've installed the latest version of Kies for Win7, so all latest USB drivers are installed.
And anyway, how to turn off this crapy MPT connection? I want to use the tablet as a USB flash.
I'm not sure what causing that, but it might be worth reinstalling the drivers. If you start Kies, there's an option to do that.
No, it does not help. I reinstalled the driver via Kies and also manually.
I can copy back and forth small files, but as soon as I wanto to copy a 400Mb movie - it just looses connection with device.
the movie has to be no more than 3gig, either resize the movie with handrake or split the movie in half with HJsplit 3.0 and then transfer it, i would suggest using wifi explorer pro to transfer, works %100
Ok, this i an weird problems.
Connected via usb. I could see my Note 4 on Windows Explorer.
Could see Internal Storage and SDCard.
Could access both Storage.
However when i try to view the Folders contents. The crash error popup and Windows Explorer is restarting.
When i try to copy or move out the folder. Windows Explorer just froze. Can see mouse icon on busy mode. Can move the mouse. But cant minimize or close Windows Explorer. Need to shut it via Task Manager.
The process continued. Tested it with iPad. Same problems. I wouldnt hope that to happen on External HDD though,
:crying:
Try using a different port, preferably one directly on motherboard, and of course try a different, high quality cable. Good luck.
I'm about at my wits end with this issue and I don't know where to look for a fix.
Basically my Galaxy S6 Edge+ (SM-G928V, Android 5.1.1) will mount to my PC and I won't be able to access the files. I open the phone's drive and I usually get several unlabeled hard-drive thumbnails along with a few 0b blank files (File type: File).
In addition if I try to manually copy a file to the phone while it is in this condition I get the error dialog "The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected." I usually use Winamp to sync files to my phone and this prevents me from doing so.
I have tried dumping the system cache to fix this to no avail.
I have done a factory reset 3 times. It fixes the problem initially for about 2 plug ins and then reverts. Anytime I want to add new music, I have to factory reset.
I have updated the portable device drivers on my computer.
I have enabled developer mode and switched from MTP to PTP back to MTP.
I have tried using a different USB cable.
I have also tried booting the phone from safemode. Didn't fix the problem
I don't know what to do anymore. I suspect the issue may be with Windows 10 itself because I can access the files fine on the phone.
I have been using Windows 10 since last summer. I have had this phone since October. This issue only appeared this past week
I have no SD card to remove, this might as well be an iPhone.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
Here's the situation. LG G6 us997, oem unlocked but not rooted. USB debugging is enabled and File Transfer (MTP) is the selected mode.
When I connect via USB to my MacBook pro (running osx 10.12), I am able to use adb to connect to my phone (push/pull files, etc). I am also able to connect to LG Bridge to initiate wifi file transfer (i.e. it recognizes my phone via USB).
However, when I open Android File Transfer it gives me a No Device Found error. If I switch the USB mode on the phone to "charging" and open AFT, I am given an error that suggests it sees the phone but knows it's not in File Transfer mode. It tells me to switch to MTP and reconnect, but then I again get the No Device Found error.
Here's the really strange thing. I performed two experiments. First, I plugged my G6 into another Mac (a mini) that had Android File Transfer installed, and instantly the file explorer popped up, working perfectly. That suggests to me that my cable isn't bad, and that my phone settings are probably okay.
But then I plugged my friend's Samsung Galaxy S6 into MY computer, and Android File Transfer popped open as it should, working perfectly. I'm not sure what this suggests. The weird thing about THAT is that plugging that same S6 into the afformentioned Mac Mini does NOT work!
So I'm stumped. I can always push/pull files via adb, but sometimes I want the simplicity of a drag and drop GUI, you know? A little more info: I think LG Bridge and AFT (and LG pc suite which doesn't work) can conflict, so I've definitely uninstalled those applications to minimize variables, rebooting between tests. I've also rebooted my phone between changes, and locked and unlocked it, and toggled File Tansfer to Charging modes repeatedly, and plugged and unplugged the cable, tried different usb ports, and switched cables.
Any ideas?
I 've been trying to connect my new S10+ by USB to my Ubuntu (Linux) laptop to transfer some files. After connecting, ensuring MTP file transfer is the selected USB option, and allowing the connection, I cannot browse the phone's file system or transfer any files from my laptop. I also sometimes see an error that the MTP process has died.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Any solutions?
