Maybe not. Pie update came in the same month as when we got the November patch so that was two updates in one month. This could be them fixing bugs/updating bootloader before updating us to Android 10 this month. Don't loose hope but also keep in mind that it could or could not come this month too
I dont belive...

yaa but that doesn't affect updates (dpi), I changed it from developer options.
My phone bootlooped half a dozen times before finally starting up and finishing the update.
How the f has Xiaomi still not fixed the bootloader. I bought an Android One because I didn't want to deal with any vendor crap and wanted timely updates - where's Android 10?!?!?!.
Not buying phones from them ever again, it's just not worth the savings.

I never had bootlooping issue, but I've read so much about it it's crazy this is still a thing...do you happen to have the 4/64GB variant?

Yep, 4/64GB. It's my 4th update with bootloop issues. I have to keep 'OEM unlocking' enabled just in case.

Thanks. I'm asking because I found this issue to be most common, if not entirely exclusive to 4/64GB variant.
The last Phone from Chinese garbage producer. Even Some Samsung phones with heavily customization are getting Android 10 but we in Android One project still sucking in 9 after many months. Good job garbage producer. Completely disappointed with it.
Goodbye Xiaomi. I will buy a Nokia next time so at least I can have camera2api legally

I know the Moto X Pure has band 12 LTE, but I believe it's turned off because something something T-Mobile. Is there any way to enable it?
Nope, you have to wait for an OTA to enable it. I hear it's on the 6.0 build being soaked.

So moto tests its software on a limited number of devices before releasing an OTA. The test is called a soak test. It's also the final test before the rollout. We know the 6.0 build is being soaked now, so next comes the OTA in short order. Originally I thought moto would roll it out sooner but meh, I don't think I'll take the update until xposed is released for 6.0. Within 10 days seems entirely plausible from evidence and history. But I wouldn't bet my device on it.

Oh okay cool, thanks man! Reason why I'm asking is because I'll more than likely be purchasing the Moto X Pure sometime next week. My current phone doesn't have band 12 (or 2 :c) so I made it one of my priorities to get a phone with band 12 support, especially since my city has band 12 LTE coverage. So long as it's being rolled out soon, I can deal with waiting a week or two.
Why and how did Motorola lose the Nexus position where they would get the updates instantly? This is my first moto device coming from Samsung note4 where the updates take months or never come, I really hope I can experience a fast update period for the first time.

Just to be a little more precise, as far as we've heard, it's currently in a limited test drive. Following that will likely be a larger soak test and then after that the rollout. Before the phone was released I guessed late November.

So just to confirm, there is no way to get band 12 working on t-mobile LTE? We have to wait for a marshmallow OTA update?

No love for the Note Pro. :crying:
Can't say I'm surprised. I was just happy to get it to 5.x. I'd be willing to be Samsung is going to sit on their hand for a bit to see if Apple releases iPad Pro sales figures and if they're good they'll build an updated Note Pro 12.2.

Meh. I'm satisfied with what I've got. If an update in hardware specs comes out in 2016 I'll consider an upgrade but otherwise this thing runs fine. Google now on tap is cool but not something that I can't live without.

To me it is 3 months older than my S6 edge and I paid top dollar for the SOB! It should get at least one major update to the next gen OS. Mine came with Lollipop. It is not at all a reach whatsoever to expect Marshmallow.

It came out in February 2014.
If memory serves, years ago (i think it was google i/o 2011?) Google asked major manufacturers to commit to update support for a period of 18 months after launch of a device. Since the note pro was announced in January of 2014 we are well beyond that time frame so yeah, it's not a surprise to not see a 6.0 update coming.

I'm in no hurry for Marshmallow. I was all geeked up about getting Lollipop. It looks different, but I have seen no difference in battery life or performance in coming from KitKat. Unless Marshmallow is going to introduce something really new (not just be a matter of a few internal changes and a new skin) then I'm good with continuing to use Lollipop.
I'm actually downgrading back to KitKat tonight just so I can root again. =(

Meh . . As an advanced user with a rooted device and a few useful tools (Greenify and Amplify for Xposed) I'm able to get standby power consumption on my wifi Note Pro down to a near negligible trickle. I just forgot my Note Pro at the office last night; having unplugged it from the charger at 100% I failed to put it into my bag before leaving for the night. I just got back to the office 12hrs later to find the tablet at 97% . . it had sat on wifi the whole time and my emails were still all synced.
No doubt that for the average user who doesn't want to go through the effort or doesn't want to root Doze takes a lot of the effort out of accomplishing better battery life. Good stuff for sure, just not necessarily mind blowingly good IMO.
It's posts like these that manufacturers never pay attention to. They are in the business of making NEW product. They do NoT see profit in supporting previously sold product. Sad and myopic.
But...the note pro 12.2 has hardware specs that are hard to beat.
I can see the little guy in Korea going crazy trying to figure out how to monetize having made a great product that people, get this, "want to keep".

There are apps that I desperately need that won't work correctly on Android versions above Lollipop. Is there any way I can downgrade from Nougat to at least Lollipop?
No
You can only downgrade to versions that had a version for this phone. G5+ is a Nougat phone, so you can't go below that.

Since I don't have a PC rn (I'll get one ASAP) I need to use Limbo and a couple other emulators to run (albeit slowly) some old PC software. It worked on my Oppo Find 7, but this phone doesn't run anything other than Windows 95 because of emulator compatibility issues with Android Nougat. Even Damn Small Linux crashes on boot with Bochs for Android.
So, if I understand this correctly....
The G5+ sucks because a 3rd party developer hasn't updated their own app, because you want to run 22 year old software on a completely different architecture, and it doesn't work pristine 100% of the time?
This is why this phone sucks?
Why don't you have your parents buy you a computer instead of a cell phone then?

Nooo, my phone is great, I just don't like the Android version. And FYI, it runs Win95 fine, but I need it to run NEWER software (still a bit old) like my OPPO Find 7 could.
I won't ask my parents to get me a PC because, one, they wouldn't get me one for some bullcrap reasons, and two, they always get me really bad PCs that crash all the time, and I'd rather just save up for my own PC.
So.
I received the OTA last night.
As I was downloading it, I went over to XDA and found that people were having problems with this update.
When I checked on this forum, there were people having the same problem but it seemed that some were not.
I looked on the internet to see if anyone from Xiaomi had addressed this problem and found none.
so I took the update about ten minutes ago and guess what?
Well, I'm writing from my One Plus 5T.
BOOTLOOP!!
I'm astonished.
It is connected to using the THEMES APP.
Everything looks fine, then you try and change your theme.
Suddenly you are booted into recovery and from there, a continuous BOOTLOOP, there's nothing you can do about it.
Listen, a bad update is possible, not everyone is perfect - but an official STABLE update that breaks your phone is UNACCEPTABLE.
I love Xiaomi and was quite perplexed at the complaints I was seeing - so yes, it's my fault, I went ahead with the update.
I couldn't find any information so I wanted to do this so that other people can save themselves.
I was an extreme Xiaomi fan....I was eagerly awaiting the Mi 7 Ceramic - I now am not. I have Xiaomi products everywhere, I've been telling all my friends and business partners about Xiaomi....
This is Global. The Mi6 is the standard-bearer for a global Xiaomi...but it won't work like this.
Never in my whole time on Android have I ever received an official update that broke the phone. Never.
Note: I am on the Stable track, all stock, never tampered with, OTA directly to my phone from Xiaomi. Directly.
This cannot happen.
Xiaomi needs to be careful here - they need to pull that update immediately AND reach out to those who cannot now use their phones.
It's a huge breach of trust and exactly the kind of thing which if not dealt with quickly, will spread globally and it will be very difficult to rectify.
Xiaomi is not the only manufacturer out there - mobile business 101 is you "...take your users with you."
I am astonished just looking at my phone loop, and loop, and loop. On an official update. Incredible.
Huawei/HTC/OnePlus...Vernee even: everyone's out there.
I might even just buy a Nokia and see what they're up to.
I am incredibly disappointed - and embarrassed.
So.
DO NOT UPDATE!
Or be like me and join the club. What do I use this phone for now? And it's less than 3 months old. A Ceramic Coaster?
I don't know what to say.
Incredible.
I have updated, and I have no problem ... although the old notifications have returned.
P.S.
Ok - yeah, I was pretty angry.
I just did a factory reset.
It works from there.
So it's a simple fix.
I just wish Xiaomi had said - reset your phone.
It's an update.
*Sigh*
I've updated my phone now and... Just dont do it. Buggy af.
Is not the same update as the one released as @beta [email protected] a few days ago. But it seem that factory reset after going from 7.1 to 8.0 is a must with MIUI.

Ah. I wish they had said that from the word go.
Worst update ever. Double notification, permanent Android system notification, buggy animations everywhere. I updated to 9.2.2 a few days before 9.2.3 and was like OMG good job Xiaomi can't believed this update is so good look at those awesome notifications and stuff! I was loving Xiaomi so much, I'm always nervous when buying Chinese electronics because I'm never sure about after sale but after having my phone several months and having bought another Xiaomi phone for my wife, I was just 100% into Xiaomi. I was putting cash aside to buy the new laser projector and vacuum robot for our new house.
So anyway. When I saw 9.2.3 just after updating to 9.2.2 I was like wow I can't believe I'll receive even more awesome features.
Oh man.
I hate my phone now.
This update is the worst thing that happened to my phone. I lost my trust in Xiaomi. It took time to gain trust. Took a few minutes to lose.
Do not update.
Do NOT update.
Wish I had seen this warning earlier. Was messing around with themes today, and after 3 applied themes the phone suddenly rebooted to recovery. And nothing else.
My phone is locked, USB debugging disabled. Cannot fastboot anything.
Guess I will try the wipe option. Sigh.
Any ideas when we get Oreo finally after this ROM has been withdrawed? Ive seen this Thread: http://en.miui.com/thread-2069213-1-1.html NO Mi6? Is this a Joke?

I only have double notification with gmail and it is gmails fault, because sometimes it isnt double.. (and when you google it, you get many results).
ROM is stable for me, the only "funny thing" is, when I go to the updater it says
"no update available
MIUI 9.2.3.0 | Nightly"
But why nightly?!
My update is gone. I had it through OTA but now when I refresh it's gone. Does that mean they pulled it out?

Yes, and you're very lucky you didn't update your phone. I'm a xiaomi user for 2 years and this is the second worst update I ever had
I really wanted to update, but after reading all the bad reviews, kinda pushed me away. Anyway waiting for the one in April, hope it will be fine.

What do you think of its performance so far?
Any obvious issues?
I was looking at the xiaomi.eu version and thought about installing that, should be pretty much the same as miGlobal right?
