Maybe I'm not reading this correctly, but when I use activity launcher to view what bands are available to enable, band N71 doesn't show as being enabled or a option to enable this. Comparing what shows as 5G on my McLaren vs my 7T show no difference at all between the two connections. Attaching the photo from what I'm looking at
This phone's 5G is currently non-standalone and probably difficult to configure. Or menus haven't kept up with the tech.
Could be the app needs an update to see it.
That being said on almost every speed test I have done today. My new iPhone pro xl is faster than the 1+7PT5GMCRN I think I’m sending mine back.

I am a T-Mobile Mobile Expert (ME).
The 5G band used by T-Mobile's OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren is the low band 600Mhz; this means that the range will be significantly increased per tower at about the same speeds as the 4G LTE speeds. Our low band 5G range is 100sq miles per tower.

Thanks for the info. But how do I get my phone to actually display a 5G connection? I'm definitely within range. However, I only get 4G LTE to show.

I have not received my 5G device yet; we have only the display McLaren; no Note10+ 5G's in store they are ship to only so I have not tinkered with the devices as of yet. I can take a look at the McLaren when I go in tomorrow and see if there are any settings that have to be enabled. To my understanding it was all done via signal detection and based on the area you are in. I will have a look and get back to you guys.

Does 600mhz mean band 71? My phone shows 5G all the time but lte Discovery and signal spy say only band 2, 4, and 12. No 71, so why not?

So why no band 71 if 5G is supposedly on the 600mhz network? What am missing?

All three of these are part of 5G
T-Mobile has multiple 5G bands just not all of them are implemented on large scale across the nation yet. For example the millimeter wave spectrum above 24 GHz, it is also referred to as High Band.
"Millimeter wave is incredibly fast, but the signal does not travel very far from the tower and can be disrupted by trees and windows.
We currently have 5G millimeter wave available in 6 major cities.
Speed: Fastest.
Coverage: A couple city blocks."
"Mid Band consists of spectrum between 1 GHz and 8 GHz.
Mid Band has the benefit of being fast while also covering a larger area than millimeter Wave. The breadth of coverage is vast and still delivers a fast experience.
T-Mobile has not yet deployed Mid Band 5G service.
Speed: Fast."
'Low Band consists of spectrum under 1 GHz, this includes our new 600 MHz signal.
Our newest, most powerful 600 MHz low band signal is the foundation of our 5G network. No signal goes farther or is more reliable, so with T-Mobile you’ll get 5G in more places.
Our 600 MHz signal travels several miles from the tower so we have a wide footprint. The signal also penetrates walls and deep inside buildings so it’s better indoors.
Speed: Average.
Coverage: Hundreds of square miles from the tower."

The speed difference for you is that drastic that you would return it? Was it purchased outright or you paying monthly into your bill? Curious since speed itsnt my main issue, it's the terrible GPS locking issues.
Looking at the configurations of the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren in the store; the 5G only shows when WiFi is off. All of the other settings is automatic unless they have been changed manually. You can check the main configurations in Settings>Wifi>Sim>Preferred Network.
I have not been able to get my McLaren to show 5G at all only 4G LTE. I spoke to a store rep which told me there is currently a software bug preventing it from showing. But.... They didn't seem to be too sure how the signals actually work, even mentioned MmWave for some reason.... Could be straight BS, I will do some more testing later today. My speeds are faster but not sure if its because of actually being connected to the n71 or not.

I know T- mobile is rolling out their 1900mhz band across the US this year, and in the last few days I've noticed much better signal strength and I just ran a speedtest and was very impressed by the results. I've had better upload results but this is by far the fastest upload speeds I've seen on the mobile data network.
Showed the 'H' icon next to the signal bars, I wonder if our phones will ever show 'LTE'?
I know I'm getting 4G but never says 4G. Always just 'H'.
Anyway, here's a screen if the results:

Close to 20Mbps!
Haha, I, as well as many others in this forum have been getting 20-25 off HSPA 42. There is an internal setting in the Nexus 4 to enable LTE, and if you connect to LTE, it shows the appropriate symbol, too. Currently, the flavor of LTE that the Nexus likes is only available in Canada (and maybe other places, but not US yet as far as I know), but it's starting to get deployed in the US via T-Mobile. It started off in Las Vegas and Kansas, or will be starting off, so if you're not in either of those places, you probably don't have LTE.
AW: Are these speeds LTE level?
Look under Settings-About the phone- status, there you can see the type of connection
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Its always gonna say h. There are ROMS that replace the icon with a 4g icon but most of them leave them as is. That doesnt mean your not getting 4g , plus those speeds look very good to me
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Those speeds are excellent for 4g, but with lte you're going to see upload speeds as fast as your download speeds.

Interesting, I've received different information. I've spoken with level 3 tech support numerous times about the roll out of their 1900mhz band during 2013 across the US, and they confirmed that their version of LTE will use the 1900mhz frequency (which, incidentally is the most highly used global frequency for high speed data - I'm a British and Australian Citizen as well as US Citizen and use my phones worldwide). The 700mhz frequency is for Verizon LTE phones, so T-Mobiles decision to run 1900mhz will mean that AT&T customers can move to T-Mobile with their existing phones
Their current 3G and 4G runs on 1700mhz - of course your phone will only get 4G if it's hardware capable of 4G.
Here's an article that will explain it all for you:

I don't need an article.. T-Mobile is deploying band 4 LTE over 1700/2100mhz frequencies. The 1900mhz band is being refarmed to HSPAP which will allow AT&T users to use HSPAP on T-Mobile. This also allows T-Mobile to stop using 1700/2100 for HSPAP since they will be using it for LTE.
If you are calling T-Mobile and expecting their "level 3 tech support" to know anything, you're doing it wrong.
Also the article you posted even proves my point.. "Refarming 1900mhz for '4G HSPAP'"

Thanks for your clarification. Good to know that we will get LTE regardless as the phone supports all those bands.
And, yes their tech support had been I'll informed before.... I was hoping that since several different people had said the same thing that there was consistency... Seems consistently crap information. However, 1700mhz currently is 4G, so moving it to 1900mhz is to improve signal strength through buildings etc right?
I've since looked at comparisons between HSPA+ and LTE... seems that LTE has a significant edge uploading, not that great of a difference download (especially as download speeds are often limited by the site you visit, regardless of how fast your carrier speed).
I'm sure I'll be happy with HSPS+ as I rarely upload much more than photos I take on my phone camera, and current 4G is plenty sufficient as it is..

Yes, that was me and as usual, Verizon has no clue what they are talking about.I'm not returning my WiFi model but if I had known this would be out within 2 weeks of my purchase, I probably would have waited. On a 2 year it would have been almost the same price as the WiFi. Not like I'm ever leaving Verizon anytime soon due to their network in my area being better than any other carrier..

So I just came from Verizon to check out the tablet. I went into settings and tried to do a system update, I didn't get the error that some people with P905 were getting about being custom. The update check came back ok, the system is up to date with the latest software. I went into download mode, everything was 0X0, nothing tripped of course but I couldn't figure out how to check if the bootloader is locked. I couldn't find the Phone app or the SMS text messaging app so I'm assuming this version cannot make calls.

Here are the Note Pro 12.2 Network specs:
Network: LTE Band 13/4 (700/1700 MHz)
Global Network: EDGE/GSM (850/900/1800/1900), HSPA/UMTS(850/900/1900/2100))
I hope someone smart here can let us know if this will work with AT&T or T-Mobile (Barry!) I see it has the 700, 1900, and 2100, but I don't know if bands 13/4 are compatible.
Let me see if I can help you out.
Here is some detailed information on their support site for what frequencies T-Mobile supports and what is required to use their network.
T-Mobile network & coverage details
T-Mobile 4G LTE
T-Mobile's advanced 4G LTE network is smoking fast! With incredible speed, you can do more using our nationwide 4G LTE network. Check our 4G LTE markets to see if you're covered.
T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network uses 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz frequencies. You'll need a phone that supports LTE 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz frequencies. Check Tech Specs to view your phone's capabilities.
Once you're registered on our 4G LTE network, you can take advantage of incredibly fast download speeds, and even use voice and data services at the same time.
T-Mobile 4G (HSPA+)
With 4G, theoretical maximum download speeds range from 21 Mbps up to 42 Mbps.
Our 4G network operates on the 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz frequencies. We use 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz frequencies to use voice and data services. You'll need a phone that supports 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz to connect to our 4G network.
Once you're registered on our 4G network, you can take advantage of incredibly fast download speeds, and even use voice and data services at the same time.
T-Mobile 3G (HSPA)
With 3G, theoretical maximum download of 14 Mbps.
Our 3G network operates on the 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz frequencies. You'll need a phone that supports 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz to connect to our 3G network.
On our 3G network, you can use voice and data services simultaneously.
T-Mobile 2G (EDGE)
EDGE, our enhanced 2G service, delivers a theoretical maximum download speed of 236 kbps.
GPRS, our 2G service, delivers a theoretical maximum download speed of 114 kbps. Typical speeds are between 35 kbps and 45 kbps.
Voice and data services cannot work simultaneously when on GPRS or EDGE.
Data speeds vary depending on its operating system, processor, battery life, running applications, peak theoretical speeds, and distance from the cell site. USB laptop sticks almost always offer higher speeds than smartphones, because they use the power of a laptop with larger batteries, processors, and other technologies. Also, downloading information is faster than uploading. There is no way to predict an exact speed with so many factors affecting your experience.

Received my Verizon Note Pro yesterday. Activated without any issue. I've only used LTE a little bit on it, speedtest wasn't overwhelming, but that was probably a cell issue. Other than that, seems pretty much like the wifi version I've played with. Oh, in case anyone thinks about it, if I had to do it again, I'd skip the "travel bundle". I don't tend to use screen protectors, the vehicle charger is only 1A and even says on the box "Not designed to charge a tablet", and the Speck case is ok, but not great. (Not sure how long the clasp is going to last.)
One potential difference from the wifi model - this one supports 802.11ac. I don't remember seeing that for the wifi model?

It should once it's unlocked. These are the bands for the Latin American LTE's tabs that support 700MHz. I'm guessing the non-700MHz bands are the same for both AT&T and VZW's branded devices. The loss of 800/1,800MHz which are on the international LTE devices will screw up Europe and Asia as some big carriers there use one or both those bands.

AT&T uses band 4 for 1,700MHz like VZW but uses band 17 (vs. VZW's band 13) for 700MHz. Historically, putting a AT&T LTE SIM in a VZW device hasn't worked so I'm assuming both bands must be supported by the radio for both uploads and downloads. T-Mobile uses the 1,700MHz band 4 channel singularly and unlocked AT&T devices have gotten T-Mobile LTE and vice versa. I haven't read anything about VZW devices with T-Mobile LTE SIMs connecting via band 4 but on paper it should work. Band 4 is band 4.
Bands supported for LTE are exclusive to LTE. To get full T-Mobile GSM data coverage the GSM part of the radio would also need to support 1,700MHz which it doesn't. So GSM would only work in T-Mobile markets that have been refarmed to 1,900MHz. Unlocked, the radio in the VZW N12 would fully support AT&T's GSM data network.
One other difference between Verizon and WiFi versions - the Verizon unit doesn't get some of the offers that the WiFi does. No remotePC, no 50 GB dropbox, etc. Does get the Google Play store credit, and Gogo, but that's about it.

I don't have a WiFi model to compare against, but subjectively I'm happy with the speed and it seems to handle full screen video content well. I'm not into tablet benchmarking so don't have the tools/methodology (desktops, on the other hand...) to provide anything objective.

We can extrapolate from Note 3 which is 1080p. Anomaly 2 benchmark and Epic Citadel are actually useful since they're not synthethic benchmarks but actual game engines. They're free to download from Google Play. Do us a favor and run them at highest setting and report score or fps. My impression of the Exynos is that its graphics performance is weaker so it'll have a negative impact on UI experience which should be solved with Snapdragon Verizon variant.
I got an N910U for use on AT&T in the US. All the phones in my house get full bars since I am on a hill near a lot of cell towers. Except the N910U usually has 0 to 1 bars and only rarely gets LTE. I used LTE discovery app to see that it is almost always on band 2 where the signal is very poor, but very ocassionally switches to band 17 and gets full bars! Then it quickly switches back to band 2 and gets 0 or 1 bars. I tried flashing the other two modems I could find, but it did not change how it acted. I am about to send it back for a refund and get an N910T instead to see if that works better, but it would be much easier to find a solution to why it won't use the strongest signal,
Nevermind. I thought I did adequate research on this phone before I bought it for AT&T, and every Q&A on Amazon asking if the U worked on AT&T LTE said it did. But were wrong. The U does not have 700MHz band 17. So I must return it.

SM-N910U Galaxy Note 4 does not support band 17, therefore the device does not support AT&T's main LTE band. The device, however, supports several AT&T's supplemental LTE bands, which include band 2, band 4, and band 5. You will only receive LTE signal if you are located in the area where one of these three bands is broadcasting.
Also, you will never receive the strongest signal that AT&T provides because AT&T utilizes device prioritization. The cell tower that you are connected to is programmed to provide best service to AT&T devices. The tower will constantly inform your phone to connect to 3G which is less congested in order to allocate network bandwidth for AT&T branded devices on its LTE network.

Thanks for the info. Does that mean I would still have a low priority if I got a N910T to use on AT&T?

Yes that is correct. If you ran a speedtest with N910T and N910A (AT&T version) side by side on AT&T's network, you will notice around 5mbps - 20mbps difference between the two. As far as I know, AT&T is the only carrier in the US that utilizes this practice.
Can we change it to get the full Band access? I believe there was no any hardware limit on it, Most is on the software settings.
Has anyone heard if this model will work on Verizon? All other carriers suck in my area.
I highly doubt that it will, given that none of the previous models have been able to. From my understanding, GSM technology is faster and allows for better connectivity than CDMA networks like Verizon, which is why it is the only type supported by phones made in places other than North America. I could be wrong, but judging by the past I don't think it's very likely
Well they're trying to make this a global phone so if Verizon is CDMA:BC0 then it'll work as that's what it's listed to work on along with 33 others network bands.

No Band 13 = big problems for Verizon trying to get LTE working normally. It would work on the network I suppose but that is Verizon's main LTE band and also the only one that doesn't overlap with other carriers, like 2 and 4 do.
From the Oneplus website:
LTE/LTE-A
DL 3CA/256QAM, UL CA/64QAM
Supports up to DL CAT12/ UL CAT13(600Mbps/150Mbps) depending on carrier support
depending on carrier support
Bands
FDD LTE: Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/30/66
TDD LTE: Band 38/39/40/41
TD-SCDMA: Band 34/39
UMTS(WCDMA): Band 1/2/4/5/8
CDMA EVDO: BC0
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
again a new phone...again completely ignoring the largest carrier in the US
They came so close... I have Verizon and T-Mobile, so when I get mine I'm going to pop a Verizon SIM in and just see what happens.

So this should work on sprint?
I put my Verizon Sim in my OP5 and it did get signal, but it showed 1x and right above it 3G. I did a quick speedtest and I was at about 1MB/s. I get around 70MB/s with my iPhone. So I guess the answer is that it does work, but it does not work well. I also don't know about MMS, I tried SMS and phone calls and that worked fine.
Will be tested on VZN as soon as mine arrives on Friday, if its not working on Verizon, I will be sending it right back to them.

It should function but it DOES NOT have band 13, which was mentioned in a few places now. Considering the price and the potential compromise, it's not worth it.
It has bands 2 and 4 but missing 13. No go for me.
Why is it so hard to add band 13. You have all the rest on there. Idiots.
We Verizon users hate Verizon devices but i will not switch networks. If one plus wants to be a true flagship killer and sell a lot of phones, they should include all bands. Verizon is the biggest network out there.
Thats my opinion.

I totally agree with you my dear Bulgarian friend, makes no sense at all to me. But I will see and give feedback as soon as mine arrives on Friday. I know from a fact that if you live in a fairly big city, band 13 is really not needed, down in ATL I am good with 2 and 4 on all devices. Tested on Mi Mix, which also lacks the band 13, but it has 2 and 4. Anyway I will let you all know on Friday.

yeah, I'm usually on band 4 here in my town, but when I'm in my office building, it does switch to band 13 since it needs that lower frequency to penetrate the building. So I'd imagine I wouldn't have signal or very weak signal in my office. But I'll try it, mine's set to arrive on Friday as well.

Yeah we will have to test, to be honest in the office I am on WiFi so not an issue, but then again are we going to have VoLTE, text and call is questionable.

yeah, I have wifi at work too, but I wouldn't receive calls or texts (does Verizon send calls/texts over wifi? I don't think they do unless the phone supports that option, which I doubt this one will).
I dont think so too, it will be interesting to find out. I am glad they are going the step forward to include more bands, but VZN strikes again. I am sure even if they added band 13, without VZN whitelisting their IMEIs, its still unusable. We will see.
Quoted from android central
So no Verizon compatibility?
Nope. It may look that way because the phone technically supports one of Verizon's legacy CDMA frequencies and a handful of its LTE bands, but OnePlus has no intention of ever officially supporting Verizon.

Pretty much.
Hi! Ive been reading and I did some researching but im still confuse. Is the IN2020 the NA version or CN? With the IN2020 can I get 5g using Tmbile? How bad is it? Is better to wait for the NA version? Which band are missing? Any help please!
I'd like to know as well. Bought mine on eBay and it's IN2020 with international ware. I'm on Verizon with no issues but still curious.
I've got IN2020 via Wonda Mobile for the UK and it works fine, it has been flashed with OOS.
I've managed to pick up 5g via Three which was unexpected as I wasn't aware that there was 5g in that area. It's super fast, faster than my 4g in the city but no way near the ones I see in the US. I believe for the US the IN2020 will be missing a few bands so you might not get all of the 5g networks out there.
If you check Wonda they list what bands the phone caters for.
Yeah I have it on tmo in USA and I get 5g works great!

How much download speed were you getting via 5g?
it might show 5G but i doubt it's getting the throughput.
I saw this on chinese a OP7 showing 4G and was just getting 3G speed since it's missing Band 20

Strange the indicator states I have 5g but getting 60mbps, nowhere near the 1gb/sec.
I dropped down to 4g and got 30mbps. I wonder what's going on?
Could be that indicator just says it has 5g as a previous user stated. Damn, sux that it isn't actually 5g but eh works well enough for me.

Okay so after some digging here is what I found: This ebay listing where I purchased my device:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/OnePlus-8-...hash=item342648c8ac:m:m9cL3Ly1MTYuW6lfrhtO1Xg
It states: 5G band 41(2500), 78(3500), 79(4700)
same here: https://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_8_pro-9919.php
Looking at the t-mobile website: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/coverage/t-mobile-network
it states: Frequencies that can provide 5G:
Band n71 (600 MHz)
Band N260 (39 GHz)
Band N261 (28 GHz)
Band n41 (2.5 GHz)
so... t-mobile USA supports it?
I just received the IN2020 version today but the OEM unlocking is greyed out????

TMobile 5g speeds are about the same as 4g rates. Maybe a 10% improvement but not much difference. Sometimes my 4g speeds are faster than 5g. Obviously their network needs some help, lol but it'll get there.

Yes this phone support n41 but we don't know can it use US band B2 / B4 as anchor band for n41. Someone please test this in 5G-area. Please then send log to me. Here is instruction how to get log file: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g...droid-phone/#OnePlus,_Oppo_and_RealMe_devices and that log file can send to https://cacombos.com/contribute so i can parse log if support n41 in USA. on Cellmapper App example should see then 5G State Connected when really connected to 5G-network. Don't trust 5G icon because it appear from UpperLayerIndicator message.
I have listed some 4G combos supported in T-Mobile USA network: https://cacombos.com/device?model=IN2020&combolist=america_tmus_plmns .

I don't know if in USA have any map where used different frequency. n41 is used in Sprint network but should be available for T-Mobile customer after merge.
Current 5G NR NSA (Non-Standalone) network require 4G LTE for signaling - data could transfered LTE+NR or LTE / NR depends configuration. 5G SA (Standalone) then works only with 5G band but i think take few years to get implement to network.
T-Mobile's N71 is one of the most exciting things to happen to phones. 600MHZ 5g? I would definitely get the IN2025. I just grabbed a IN2025 from Amazon for $899 because it has a damaged box
