moto x 4.4.4 bluetooth - not fixed

For those anxious to get 4.4.4 you might try liquidsmooth which now incorporates it and runs on most if not all moto-x's. It's been upgraded to 4.4.4. Unfortunately, bluetooth is still not working correctly for me and if I try to pair the phone with my car, the car's system goes into a slow endless loop where the phone is connected and then disconnected. I am going to try to see if there is some way to get the phone working with my car....it's very frustrating because the moto-x has never connected correctly (galaxy nexus was flawless in this regard).
I am guessing that it isn't built on the 444 kernel, so, don't get too discouraged yet

What year make and model do you have? I have a 2011 Ford Edge and 2011 Ford Fusion, both of which use Ford Sync (Suck), and I have no issues with either.
Also, are you stock, or running a custom ROM? You seem to be running a custom ROM, and in that case, all bets are off.

It is 4.4.4 kernel. I think I've found the issue and it's unique to "techies". I have a pebble smart watch which uses google...the connection to the car system (2014 MB) uses bluetooth. If I don't wear my watch, the connection to the car works...no loops/etc. When I wear the watch in the car, the car/phone link goes all screwy. I suspect that one of the bluetooth stacks doesn't like to share....and I'd bet it's the moto-x stack which can either use the bluetooth or the car link, but not manage both together, even though everything is paired correctly. I haven't checked to see if pebble and the MB use the same protocols...it may be that they both share txt even though I only need phone on the car link.
I'll post more when I get further into this....I just stumbled on the cause today when I didn't wear the watch and repaired the phone with the 4.4.4 kernel.

I've heard them all, but we've had precisely zero issues with the Fusion, and one with the Edge that was fixed free of charge due to silent recall.
My only issue with Sync is that my Fusion has the Gen 1 version, and the most recent software update removed the key reason I chose this car over the then comparable Sonata. Without that feature, I would have gone with the Sonata.

N6P unable to detect Ford Sync bluetooth

I recently purchased the N6P to replace my dying N4. The transition from one device to the other has gone pretty well, except for one issue. My N6P is unable to find the bluetooth signal from my Ford Fusion. Upon turning on bluetooth and searching for devices, the N6P cannot find the Ford Sync signal. I've rebooted the phone many times, Ive tried it many times in safe mode with no success, Ive turned the Sync's bluetooth on and off numerous times, the phone is still unable to detect it. I have also tried deleting all the paired devices on the Sync settings and had no luck with the N6P working. Aside from a factory reset of the phone, what else can I do?
My N4 was able to connect to the Sync right up to when I stopped using it. My fiancee's Samsung Galaxy (something) can detect, connect, and function with the Sync's bluetooth. I am beginning to think its something with the N6P. Ive tried it on all three versions of the OS Ive had on the phone. The original OS version didn't work when I first powered up the N6P, the next version of the OS i updated to didn't work, and this morning the phone ran the latest update and the bluetooth doesnt work.
I'm at a loss, I'm ready to return this phone and go back to my dying N4.
Edit: I am currently running Android 6.0.1.
My wife's N5x has the same problem with our ford sync, I think its related to the bluetooth disconnection bug I've had since the may update.
You can still connect it by opening the bluetooth screen on your phone so that it is visible to other devices and in the sync setup tell sync to search for devices and select your nexus phone.
My wife and I both own Nexus 6p's. I just bought a brand new Ford F-150 and my wife has a 2014 Toyota mini van (forget the model name off the top of my head, but still a fairly new vehicle). Neither one of our Nexus 6p's will connect to with vehicle. Prior to our Nexus 6p's (which I really had to talk my wife in to getting a Nexus 6p) our LG G4 and Note 5 connected flawlessly. I even bought a Bluetooth thing that plugs in to my trucks aux and that works after turning the Bluetooth on and off a few times. Totally freaking unacceptable. We both have Nexus Protect on both devices, but don't think a new Nexus 6p will fix the issue. No problem at all with Google maps other than audio coming through my brand new trucks speakers. Smh. Both of our phones are not rooted or changed in anyway. Out of the box stock.

Confirm working in Nissan Frontier. Wonder why its certain auto manufacturers?
Works in 2014 Toyota Camry.
Mine works with zero problems in my '13 Fusion Ti. I also have a bluetooth adapter for torque plugged in with no hiccups. Is your sync software up to date?
Mine detects fine , but once connected I loose all system sound. i.e I can't hear map prompts anymore. Anyone knows a fix for this ?

I can verify that I have this experience as well in one of my cars with an aftermarket bluetooth Sony head unit (that supports A2DP streaming). Haven't checked in the Nissan yet (no A2DP), but I will tonight.
Bluetooth on this model sure has some "quirks".....
I have a 2015 fusion Ti & N6P I have had zero issues. however i will say my bluetooth connection is much more stable after updating SYNC to the latest version. Bit of a pain because you have to create a ford account to gain access to the instructions/files. but here is the URL to get you started: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/how-tos/keep-your-sync-up-to-date.html
I also have a Ford Fusion 2015 and I have no problems connecting to SYNC. It also connects just fine with my wife's Ford Escape. Which month's build are you using? Is your radio up to date? I don't think I've ever updated the SYNC software in either vehicle so I'm not sure it's that. Make sure BT is on and you have the BT page in settings open so that both devices can see each other. Then go into the car's phone menu and add a device. That's how I did it. Make sure the vehicle is not moving or preferably in park. Good luck.
It magically connected right after I posted above. Now I'm afraid to install the June security patch lol. Working flawlessly in my F-150 though.

Bluetooth pairing issues on 7.x

Hi all,
Since upgrading to Android 7.x, I've had problems connecting my phone to other Bluetooth devices, particularly my car heading it for hands-free. The headunit in one car works fine, the other car keeps connecting and disconnecting after about 1-2seconds in a continual loop. Before 7.x it was connecting fine. Even now my phone makes the notification sound of connecting when I'm in that car even when I choose 'forget this device' on both hu and phone, only way to stop the notifications is to turn bt off.
I've googled and found it's quite a common issue, but yet to find a solution. I joined the beta program and update everytime but yet to fix it.
My question is, will this problem be fixed if I install a custom rom like PureNexus or is it a flaw in 7.x affecting every rom? If that is the case, is it possible to downgrade to 6.x? I really want to be able to connect to my hu with hands free again, it's been months now with no luck!

Hello,
Backup your data's and try to factory reset.
You can install a custom ROM, but I guess it doesn't fix drivers issues which are closed sources.
Otherwise you can downgrade to a 6.x stock firmware.
Option 1 and 3 needs you to unlock your bootloader. Backup important datas, unlocking bootloader wipe all datas!
Good luck...

I suggest you fully wipe your phone and install the May Google image (N2G47O). There was a major BT rework introduced with 7.1.2 that fixed an issue just as you describe. I went 5-6 months without being able to connect with one of my cars (2014 Cadillac). When the 7.1.2 beta came out I did a fresh install and it immediately fixed the problem. BT has worked flawlessly since.

You need a completely clean 7.1.2 install.
There is a setting somewhere (I don't know where) left over from previous OS version or app.
My phone was doing the exact same thing with my BMW, and only my BMW.
Clean install of 7.1.2 fixed the issue for me.
I wiped my 6P today hoping it would resolve my BT issues with my 2015 Toyota Highlander. No such luck, it still boots my Toyota in an endless loop until I disable the BT on the phone. The car works fine on my Samsung S3.
What is the process to do a Clean install of 7.1.2?

[Q] Android Auto not working in vehicle

I have been using AA in my Civic with a Nexus 5 for about a year now. I got a Nokia 6 yesterday, and today when I tried plugging it in to my car.... Nothing.
The AA app launches in standalone mode, but no luck with the car.
Anyone else tried the Nokia 6 with AA in a car?
Had similar problems with Nokia 6 & Honda accord 2016
My Honda accord 2016 was working fine with iPhone.
Yesterday got new Nokia 6 and tried connect via Android auto is not working. Tried to change the data cables still no luck. Please help

I contacted Nokia support via web chat.
tl;dr: They don't see it as a problem with the phone.
Here was the conversation:

Hi! How can we help you today with your Nokia phone or accessory?
Hi I just bought a Nokia 6 Amazon phone. Iamd very happy, except I cannot get it to work with Android Auto in my car.

Hello, thank you for contacting Nokia Mobile Care
You're welcome

When you try to connect the phone with you cat, what happens exactly?
It just charges. AA does not get started.
I had a Nexus 5 before this, and it worked perfectly with AA.
18m ago
What is AA?
Android Auto
18m ago
Is it your AA up to date?
Yes
16m ago
I hope this information should be useful for you: https://support.google.com/androidauto/answer/6348029?hl=en-GB
Yes I have tried that.
13m ago
Did you download the Android Auto app?
The app works fine in standalone mode, but it should connect to the car's infotainment system when plugged in.

What happens when you try to connect the phone in your car?
The phone starts charging, but that is all.

For this issue, please contact the Android support, because this is a issue between Android operative systems
https://support.google.com/android/?hl=en-GB#topic=7313011
That is disappointing. I will be returning the Nokia 6.
7m ago
One moment please
Please check the compatibility list of the devices for your car
You can also contact with the support for your car
What does that mean? AA is a standard, such that if the car supports it and the phone supports it they should work together.
Is there a higher level of tech support available?
2m ago
We are Nokia Mobile Care
You are just trying to send me somewhere else.
But we don't support issues with Android Auto
Hmmm... That is terrible customer support.
Good luck selling phones that don;t support Android standards.

Same Issue on Honda Civic AA not working with Nokia 6
Please help my Nokia 6 failed to connect AA on my Civic. swapped cables etc.. and other android phone's works on the same car.
I am having the same issue on a Honda CR-V 2017 model. My old Motorola G phone works well and this phone is not getting recognized at all.
Issues with Nokia 6 while connecting to AA
I had the same issue with Nokia6 and Accord's AA. It did pick AA couple of times, when the USB plugin options pop up on phone:
Then choosing " USE THIS DEVICE AS MIDI" let me get on to AA. It worked fine for that single time and again back to same problem.
This is working only when my phone detects the cable as USB. I tried using multiple cables but no luck.
I am wondering if there is any setting on phone where I can choose the USB cable default option as MIDI...
Maybe it will help you too, but i had the same problem with my nokia 6 to connect with AA to my ford.
First I try some cable to connect with my laptop. The moment i could see the data from my nokia on my laptop, i know i have a data cable and not a charging cable.
With this data cable i connect my nokia 6 to my ford.
Also i read on some forum about debugging USB on a nokia.
"enableusbdebugging.com/2017/01/enable-usb-debugging-nokia-6.html
I follow this url and debugged my nokia
After that i connect my nokia with AA to my ford and it worked all perfect.
But next day i try connect my nokia with my ford, it did not work anymore:crying:

My car is a Nokia 616 bluetooth phone. Nokia 6 united easily. Similarly, Jolla Sailfish did not succeed. (Switching on as a bluetooth device).

Same here. Nokia 6 TA-1021 and Kia Optima. Phone just goes into the charging mode, and that's it. Every other phone works perfectly. Still can't find a solution.
Nokia 6 Android auto compatibility issues solved !
For those who are having problems with Nokia 6 not being able to connect to the car head unit using Android auto, below is the solution: 1. Please ensure all the relevant softwares are up to date 2. Use a high quality USB cable. Amazon basics. Sony. Ivoltaa cables are good enough. 3. Turn on USB debugging on your phone. 4. Go to settings - battery - battery activity manager - turn on Android auto & maps from the list below. 5 . Reboot the device and you are good to go.
Yeah same here.. I tried connecting my Nokia 6 to Hyundai i30 2017.. nothing happens.

There's another problem with the Nokia 6 and bluetooth music.
For a lot of users it will connect, but there's no audio coming through. Calls will work, but no music.
Nokia fails to officially acknowledge the problem and will give you a tedious runaround before halfheartedly admitting to the problem. Without giving any promise on a fix.

Yeah that exactly same happens here aswell.. I thought its some kind of bug in Android Oreo beta. It connects the bluetooth but as a phone device but not a media device.
So only calls work though bluetooth but no music. I restart my device to get it working.

OnePlus5 - Multiple Bluetooth Devices simultaneously

Hi Guys,
So I have been frustrated by this lack of ability to multi connect devices for a while now, since I bought the phone. I honestly had thought the multiconnect was a standard, but I am beginning to wonder.
I am running Android 8.1.0 under OxygenOS 5.1.1 (build OneplusA5000_180420.
I can connect to my "generic" smartwatch, it can act as my bluetooth handsfree, music player etc and works.
I can switch off my smartwatch, and sit in the car, and it can connect to my car, and I can do everything on there (handsfree, media etc etc), and it works.
I can't however, get into my car with my watch connected, and have my car connect to the phone at the same time. Reading up, this seems to be a rather frequently seen issue? It worked perfect on my old Xperia Z3, but I cannot at all, get my phone to connect to two BT devices at once....
Any ideas? surely this should have been fixed by now?
