new xperia arc user, successfully unlocked bootloader and rooted phone, installed titanium backup and busybox, and removed some preinstalled apps, however whatsapp still showing as being installed , even though titanium no longer showing it as listed, any ideas. if i click on app, it launches as normal?
That happens sometimes and you have to do it manually by going into system apps and remove it. Reason, I am not sure.
thanks, sorted it be reinstalling from marketplace then uninstalling again with titanium, after reboot its successfully gone
i have this kind of prob on others apps also..
i uninstalled it at the market place

4.Is it ok to uninstall T-mobile TV,Apppack?
5.I cannot move non-system app to system folder. It says"Cannot move because Read only" even I mount as R/W.I know I can easly convert non-system apps to system apps via TB.But I would like to know, why I cannot mova apps to system.

Nandroid backup is done inside of clockwork recovery which you can use rom manager to boot into.
Custom roms will usually come with busybox, but if you want to update your version you can download busybox installer from market
Not sure what you are doing with google maps, but if you uninstall maps it shouldnt give you a problem reinstalling another google maps apk manually or from market.
If it says read only on system folder then you have not changed to write access. What file browser are you using?
You can absolutely unstall any of the tmobile bloatware including tmobile tv. If you want a precooked rom that has all of this stuff removed and is stock in every other way then check the link in my sig for my mysense rom. It may be exactly what you are looking for.
Hi all,
Pardon me if I am asking a relatively dumb question.
I have an S7 edge on 6.0.1, G935FD, rooted.
Microsoft Office, basically Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and One Drive, came preinstalled.
I cannot seem to create a new file.
I have two options for the file's file location. Either it saves in the cloud through One Drive or at the local device storage.
If I choose to save to the cloud, I can create a file.
If I change it to local device storage, I get an error which reads: "Office can't create your file right now. Please try again later."
Here are the things I have tried:
Delete cache.
Clear dalvik through TWRP.
Deleted updates and reupdated.
Uninstalled apps through System App Remover.
Reinstalled updates, tried to convert app from system app to user app then uninstalled and reinstalled.
After all that, I still have the same issue.
Any advice?
Try to use system uninstaller, remove those apps, reinstall from the playstore and try again
Also if you have xposed framework try to hide root from those apps
Didn't try any of those as i'm not rooted
EDIT: just rooted my phone (SM-G935FD) using chainfire autoroot and Offices apps are working fine including save, try to unroot then test again if working using chainfire method to root again
Settings -> Applications -> Word -> Permissions
I'm on the Nougat beta so not sure if the order is exactly that but something similar anyway. Check if Storage is enabled. If it isn't, enable it and do the same for the other Office apps.
Thanks. I'll go ahead and try these.
Thanks, I've checked permissions and they are a-ok!
I used the system uninstaller by jumobile and it's leaving a data folder com.microsoft.excel and i cant delete it. I think it leaves it there so in the event that i do a full system restore the apps will get reinstalled.
Update. I was able to get it to work!
Moved it from a system app to a user app, then uninstalled. Rebooted the phone, then downloaded microsoft excel in playstore. Fixed!!
I think it was in the order of how I did the steps with the reboot.
Hey
I just installed the newest lineageOS with gapps nano and the newest Magisk root, afterwards I installed Titanium Backup for app recovery.
Now I am only able to install apps (by Titanium Backup) that don't require permissions.
After some googling I found out that normally this happens when you have an app that does some kind of overlay. But I literally only have the apps that come with lineageOS, with gapps nano, Magisk Manager and Titanium Backup.
I really have no idea what I can do now, maybe somebody can help me
Thanks in advance
P.S.: I know, my English is bad...
I installed this rom:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-slm-version-t3704143
(I wanted an android 7 stock rom - not MIFavor - but incredibly I couldn't find it)
after that, I tried to remove with Titanium Backup many system apps that I didn't want, like Mi Assistant, Es file explorer, Z-backup, an app with russian characters which I have no idea what it does, an app with chinese characters which I have no idea what it does, etc.), but the problem is that they keep coming back even after removing them with Titanium Backup :| this has never happened to me before, and I have no idea how to solve this.
Try this zip. Backup before flash.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HVaIpyizIBmp65snGpbUDFYkvkfW4-JG/view?usp=drivesdk
thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work: first I tried with this method, then I installed the zip you provided, but again it didn't work.
As before, if I uninstall system apps via Titanium Backup, and then reboot the device, the apps are still there.

In TWRP's terminal do
Code:
reboot disemmcwp
If that doesn't work do it from your computer with
Code:
adb reboot disemmcwp
I tried exactly as you said, but again it didn't work. I unistalled apps with titanium backup, they disappear, then I reboot and the apps are again there :'(
Apart from that the phone works perfectly (the root remains, xposed works, etc.) so I have no idea why this is happening
Oh I have a a2017g and I dont' have Magisk, if that changes anything.
just a quick update, I have already installed busybox 1.21.1, and if i try to update it to 1.27.2 with busybox app from play store, nothing happens/changes.
edit2: I even try to install the "dm-verity and forced encryption disabler zip" listed here, but again it didn't work.

Try Magisk. AFAIK with Magisk you can make changes to system without actually modifying system, so it might work.

Could you explain this? You were looking for LineageOS maybe?
To be able to delete apps you should get a computer with ADB, connect your phone, then from the computer issue "adb reboot disemmcwp". Doing this from TWRP or a terminal emulator doesn't work

Don't use Titanium to remove the apps.if you have run the above command to disable write protection, download mxplorer or any root explorer and go into the folder and delete them. For some reason Titanium doesn't delete them properly
I was having the same problem with with all the b13 roms. The b13 bootstack it the problem for me. What phone model are you using? If you are on the U model trying installing the b32 bootstack by drakenfx. That's how I solved that problem. I am not sure on the g model though.
thanks again for your help! in the end since I couldn't figure it out, I decided to factory reset everything and start from scratch with Magisk and LineageOS. With them I succesfully managed to delete system apps with titanium backup. now i have only a small issue with adblocker, but i will create a new topic as the problem is different from the one i talked about here.

yeah I wasn't really clear. I was looking for an android vanilla experience, and then add gravity box to personalize it. however i am quite happy with lineageos, so i just may stick with it. only issue is that i couldn't find dark theme for drawer/settings, but i will look into it.

i think you're using the stock system, a.k.a. MiFavor. LineageOS is the vanilla android experience you wanted, that's why I mentioned it.
I'm attaching a few screenshots
