I installed this rom:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-slm-version-t3704143
(I wanted an android 7 stock rom - not MIFavor - but incredibly I couldn't find it)
after that, I tried to remove with Titanium Backup many system apps that I didn't want, like Mi Assistant, Es file explorer, Z-backup, an app with russian characters which I have no idea what it does, an app with chinese characters which I have no idea what it does, etc.), but the problem is that they keep coming back even after removing them with Titanium Backup :| this has never happened to me before, and I have no idea how to solve this.
Try this zip. Backup before flash.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HVaIpyizIBmp65snGpbUDFYkvkfW4-JG/view?usp=drivesdk
thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work: first I tried with this method, then I installed the zip you provided, but again it didn't work.
As before, if I uninstall system apps via Titanium Backup, and then reboot the device, the apps are still there.

In TWRP's terminal do
Code:
reboot disemmcwp
If that doesn't work do it from your computer with
Code:
adb reboot disemmcwp
I tried exactly as you said, but again it didn't work. I unistalled apps with titanium backup, they disappear, then I reboot and the apps are again there :'(
Apart from that the phone works perfectly (the root remains, xposed works, etc.) so I have no idea why this is happening
Oh I have a a2017g and I dont' have Magisk, if that changes anything.
just a quick update, I have already installed busybox 1.21.1, and if i try to update it to 1.27.2 with busybox app from play store, nothing happens/changes.
edit2: I even try to install the "dm-verity and forced encryption disabler zip" listed here, but again it didn't work.

Try Magisk. AFAIK with Magisk you can make changes to system without actually modifying system, so it might work.

Could you explain this? You were looking for LineageOS maybe?
To be able to delete apps you should get a computer with ADB, connect your phone, then from the computer issue "adb reboot disemmcwp". Doing this from TWRP or a terminal emulator doesn't work

Don't use Titanium to remove the apps.if you have run the above command to disable write protection, download mxplorer or any root explorer and go into the folder and delete them. For some reason Titanium doesn't delete them properly
I was having the same problem with with all the b13 roms. The b13 bootstack it the problem for me. What phone model are you using? If you are on the U model trying installing the b32 bootstack by drakenfx. That's how I solved that problem. I am not sure on the g model though.
thanks again for your help! in the end since I couldn't figure it out, I decided to factory reset everything and start from scratch with Magisk and LineageOS. With them I succesfully managed to delete system apps with titanium backup. now i have only a small issue with adblocker, but i will create a new topic as the problem is different from the one i talked about here.

yeah I wasn't really clear. I was looking for an android vanilla experience, and then add gravity box to personalize it. however i am quite happy with lineageos, so i just may stick with it. only issue is that i couldn't find dark theme for drawer/settings, but i will look into it.

i think you're using the stock system, a.k.a. MiFavor. LineageOS is the vanilla android experience you wanted, that's why I mentioned it.

Ok so I flashed glite but I can't uninstall superuser. I have superuser elite and want to use that but I cannot find a way to delete the regular version. Also, when I uninstall and reinstall it works fine but after reboot elite no longer works and it's back to the regular version then uninstall reinstall etc... so what do I do to fix this problem. I even converted elite to a system app lol which didn't work.
No one can help me with this one?
Bump
Dont know why you have to delete the regular version as when you open elite and update it,I get a message saying on next boot will hide the su icon,I only have one su icon, which is the elite one, didnt have to manually delete anything, also from time to time I get the message that my su binary is out of date, let it update it and Im all good again, you seem to be having alot of problems at the moment.
What do you mean converted elite to a system app?
That was my experience before, now I so that and on reboot it goes back to the regular one every time! It's frustrating!
maybe you try it with titanium backup?

Yea it isn't in the apps list for tb or apps manager
im using the beta 3.0-4 but nothing shows in the logs anyone else having this problem
Yea tried everything you can think of, uninstalling with tb making elite a ROM app, manually deleting it from tb and by mounting rw, nothing works for me, it's hard coded to repropagate with reboot
Bump still there
Is anyone else able to install the latest update to Google Keyboard from the Market? I am unable to. I think I broke my Razr at some point, sadly. I manually updated to the new keyboard before they put it in the market (way back when). I have been able to get it to update in the past, but now, something is wrong, and it won't update...it keeps either telling me my certificate isn't correct, or it is already installed.
Things I have tried:
Making sure the following were the stock versions, and then removing all of them:
in /system/app:
Latin.apk, LatinIME.apk, LatinImeDictionaryPack.apk
in /system/lib:
libjni_latin.so, libjni_latinime.so
in /data/data:
com.google.android.inputmethod.latin
com.google.android.inputmethod.latin.dictionarypack
com.motorola.android.inputmethod.latin
I have tried wiping davlik-cache and cache, tried rebooting. Tried installing from market, and downloaded apk, using adb and pm install. It seems to either, if all the files are present, tell me that it can't install, as it is a different version of the certificate OR if I delete them all, it tries to install and reports the app is already installed.
Any suggestions?
Just to help anyone else find this post, some of the error messages I encountered that would help them find this in searching:
From the pm install, errors: INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_INCONSISTENT_CERTIFICATES and INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS
and from the dialogs in Android, when trying to do it from the market:
Application already exists, and Package file was not signed correctly.
Are you rooted? If so, have you tried uninstalling the keyboard with titanium backup, rebooting, then installing the new one from the play store?
Yep, I'm rooted, I should have mentioned that. I tried uninstalling with Titanium Backup, no luck. There must be some other thing that is colliding with the keyboard, something that I need to delete or clear, no idea. I am sure it is an odd problem to me, cause I got the keyboard manually before it came to market, but darned if I can figure this out. It really stinks, cause now I have only one choice, Swype. I really like and miss the Google Keyboard.
Only other thing that I can think of is if you are running a custom rom, do a dirty flash and then flash gapps. Otherwise you might have to do a complete wipe and start over.

If your problem is in somewhere in data then a factory data reset is an option. But before you try that my restore thread allows you to try 3 different systems (stock, stock deodexed-debloat & if your are unlocked: a Telstra deodexed-debloat) and keep your data. They all need to be done is a series to keep data.

I managed to get this installed...I'm not sure exactly what I did to get it to work, and I still think I am somewhat broken, unfortunately. I removed the data directory, left all the .so and .apk files from stock, EXCEPT I took the Google Keyboard apk and manually stuck it into /system/app. I THEN did a pm install -r googlekeyboard.apk and it managed to install on top. I think I also (although not sure it helped) removed a rename line in /data/system/packages.xml about the package.
I don't have it linked in the market (in spite of trying with TB) and I don't have the Google Keyboard Settings app showing in my app tray, but the keyboard is there, selectable and seems to be working.
Cheers

Hi, I've got a problem I cant fix.
I wanted to downgrade Google Search so I uninstalled updates and it went back to stock. I then installed the version I wanted. v3.1
Now, this is my problem. I DONT want it to show in Google Play as an update so I tried to make a updated APK like I have with many other apps where I like older versions.
Now I used Lucky Patcher and that didn't like making the modded APK but it did back a backup. So I clicked RESTORE BACKUP. and guess what? It deleted the app instead of restoring it.
Now when I try to install it from either any APK or even directly from Google Play it keeps saying the device is full and fails to install.
I have over 1GB free. I've deleted about 10 apps and still keeps saying device is full. I've reinstalled those 10 apps and they fit and install without problems and I still have over 1GB free.
HOW do i get Google Search reinstalled? I dont want to reflash it as I will loose ROOT and that was a big enough ***** to install the first time.
I have a stock recovery menu. Rooted Galaxy S4 i9505 4.3 official firmware.
I did delete delvik cache and the cache in recovery menu.
I cant find any other ways to restore it? I tried titanium backup with the backup I have of it but that never ends when I click restore. It doesn't finish, doesn't do anything just sits there saying its restoring but never stops still I kill it even after 30 mins it was still restoring.
Anyone??
I did try Titanium Backup and made a update.zip and that fails both from SDCARD and ADB as its not signed and its stock recovery.
Do I have to install a custom recovery? Can I use the one I used with 4.2.2 or do I have to get a 4.3 version? That was i9505-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.2-4.tar
Anyone?
I'm stumped. I dont have a clue whats going on and why it wont install and why its saying its full when its got 1GB free.

Thanks for the reply.
Was hoping not to do that.
BUT, everything still works without it anyway and as it stole the use of my Bluetooth button it wont be missed but I do like the Google Now alerts.
What happened with me was the latest few versions stole the link to the bluetooth button. Before when you pressed the button you had the option of S-Voice or Google Search and now the newer versions dont have that option and always use Google Search and you have no way to revert back to S-Voice. I had Google Search disabled for a while but I want to use Google Now so I need the app but not the new version so an old version works fine. I think the last is 3.1? I didn't try 3.2 but I know 3.4 has that forced Google Search now.

I got it installed and fixed a few other apps at the same time.
I went to root /data/data and found the google search was a 0kb file so I deleted it and it installed fine after that. I also had a few other apps that were playing up so I deleted those folders and they now install and work fine.
So in the end no need to reflash just remove the corrupt files and its all fixed.
I did find out Google Search 3.3 is the last of the good versions, 3.4 is when it steals your bluetooth's connection and uses it for its own without letting you choose default.
As S-Voice is a Samsung feature those not with a Samsung phone wont care but those like me that use S-Voice will be annoyed that the latest Google Search removes the choice. I recommend to disable so it goes back to default version then get v3.3 and install that and use an app to remove it from updating in Google Play then all will be good.
it's solved right?
but anyway maybe you could try to flash gapps . Don't now if it will works but i good to try anyway ;D

When uninstalling on stock, you only delete apk file. You have also to delete corresponding odex odex file in system/
Then, you have to remove also corresponding folder in system/data/data
Then, you can try to reinstall the app.

Now trying to stop Google Play from upgrading and also removing it from the update list is another problem.

I do that and it doesn't work with Titanium Backup.
I want to remove it completely so it doesnt even see it in the Google play store.
In Titanium Backup you can remove it from Google Play but that option doesn't work as I've had it removed twice and its updated both times.
So far its working. I've turned it into a user app and removed it from the store and its not updated yet but I will give it till tomorrow and if it auto updated like the last 2 times I will just uninstall it again and not use it. Its more trouble than its worth anyway.

I want it installed, I want to use Google Now but I don't want to update to the bad version and I don't want Google Play to keep telling me there is an update so I want it removed from Google Play.
As I said Titanium Backup does have a "Detach from Market" option which does remove it but after a few hours it updates anyway so that option doesn't work.
When you make a custom APK it's not seen in the Market so that works but Google Search doesn't work when you customise the APK.

I've unticked that box so Google Search won't auto update but it's still in the update list and it still gives notifications that it needs to be updated.
It needs to be removed from Google Play, that's the only way to stop it from updating or asking to update and it's the only app I can't customise that I've tried. I've modded many apps and they work and they are removed from Google Play but this one I can't.
I also want other apps to auto update so I dont want to turn that option off.

YES YOU CAN.
Just install Market Fixer and that removed it. But it does sometimes show up after a reboot. I rebooted twice and it showed up the first time but not the 2nd time.
So it looks like I've fixed the problem.
Titanium Backup's 'Detach from Market' doesn't work but Market Fixer does the same thing and that does work.
The problem I think is its a system app, its used by my Google account, its used by half the system so its not easy to hide from the App Store. As other apps aren't used the same way they are easily hidden but Google Search isn't.
My 6p was stock rooted using the "old" method with modified boot image (i.e. not systemless). I manually flashed the 6.0.1 update and apply superSU 2.62 (i.e. systemless root). The youtube app worked after the first boot, but when I rebooted the 6p the youtube app no longer works -- I kept getting "Please check your network connection". I uninstalled the app, clear app data/cache but to no avail. I even reflashed 6.0.1; again, the youtube app worked in the first boot, but no afterwards.
I've been on wifi all the time, and I could watch youtube from my browser by going to m.youtube.com (and use adobe flash).
Everything else works after the 6.0.1 update. I really don't want to have to do a factory reset. Please help!

Thanks. I tried that but it didn't work ("App not installed"). In fact I tried to install an old version in multiple ways:
* just install it from ES file explorer
* freeze the current one first using TB and then install
* put a copy of the old one in /data/app/com.google.android.youtube-1 and then install
* put a copy of the old one in /system/app/Youtube and then install
Same error message.

Never heard of that -- could you give me a reference? (I'm not disagreeing with you; I just want to learn more about it).
When I upgrade from 6 to 6.0.1. I reflashed everthing except userdata and recovery; in particular I had to reroot my 6p. I assume that would have erased the old root processes? (this is a question)
Please help me get back youtube!

uninstall all updates to the youtube app. then, flash clear youtube 10.43 LP-MM - from here http://teamblackedout.com/Transparent/ . I flashed it using TWRP, it installs as a system app, replacing your stock youtube app. so if you want to keep the stock youtube app make a backup or know how to pull the stock gapp from the stock factory images.
my youtube didn't work earlier, this is what i did and now it's all working right again
Edit: important that it's the MM version (marshmallow) if you grab it from that link

Yea I noticed that was weird. You can do it by hitting the uninstall button in Google play. It'll ask "do you want to uninstall updates"
Or from that system app menu you mentioned, you can select De activate app and it'll ask you if you want to uninstall updates

if TiBu doesn't say "updated" then you just have the stock system youtube. i flashed the team blackout zip right over that system version and it fixed my problem. if you're problem is the same as mine, it should work.

The zip did remove the youtube system app. I then rebooted and successfully installed an older version of youtube. However, this older version (10.11.55) still gives me the "Check your network connection" error, and according to xprivacy this older version got installed as a system app!
When I first fired up the newer installed, older youtube I got a spinning circle on the screen. It seemed to try to log into my account and couldn't; maybe that's the network connection problem it refers to? BUT: (1) the play store works, (2) I've never logged into youtube (account blocked by xprivacy), (3) when I remove all xprivacy restriction the app still didn't work, (4) when I tried to manually sign into youtube it did not recognize my account!
I'm really confused. Suggestions and comments are most welcome!

10.11 may be too old a version. I just know 10.43 worked for me. i'd try that one if i were you
edit: if you flashed the 10.43 zip already, then installed 10.11 over it, you'd just need to uninstall updates to youtube and try to run the system version (which should be the 10.43 you flashed). also, try wiping YouTube app data in TiBu

I installed a 64bit 10.43 youtube apk, but that didn't work either. So I uninstalled it from TB, but the youtube icon still showed up in the application tray even through the app not longer worked when I clicked on it. Instead of using the cleaning zip I used instead the root explorer option in ES file explorer to remove this left-over youtube apk. Reboot, youtube now was really gone from the app tray. Then I reinstalled the 10.43 apk, and wa la, it worked even after multiple reboots!
I don't exactly know what happens; I'm just glad that it works THANKS!
I'm on A2017U 7.1.1 B32 TWRP installed and rooted
I've uninstalled the system youtube app and youtube vr
Placed both the installer and apk in the Download Section of my phone
Flashed in TWRP
Nothing shows up. Any suggestions?

If you have Magisk, use the module. The thing os that Android seems to prioritize the app that's in data as opposed to the one on system. So what you have to do for it to work is get a file manager (i recommend the new Root Browser, it's probably the least bloated out there), go to /data/app, then find youtube (maybe com.google.youtube?) and delete the folder. After that just go back one folder and return again, check that it isn't there, and then go to Play Store and deactivate auto-updates (open the app description, and open the 3 dot menu).
If you don't have magisk all that stuff will work. Just remember that if Play Store updates the app you'll lose it until you reboot

There isn't a youtube folder where you instructed me to look. I think Titanium Backup removed it on it's own.
I might just have to reinstall this ROM, install Magisk, and use the module. Ugh spent all afternoon/evening unlocking and rooting this thing. Almost there.
Appreciate the feedback

What did you do with titanium backup?? Did you uninstall the app after flashing iYTBP?
Try rebooting twice, the app might get replaced

I used Titanium to uninstall the original Youtube app that came with the phone.
I've rebooted twice. Still not showing up in either the App Drawer, or Data/APP folder.
Reinstalled the iYPTB via twrp again, rebooted, and still nothing in either locations.
I'm at a loss, almost ready to go magisk tomorrow.

You didn't have to do that... It might have uninstalled the /system/app one
One other thing. Use root browser to get to /system/app, find the youtube folder. Check the apk's thumbnail. If it is iytbp's then you almost definitely have com.google.youtube on data or auto-update on play

It's the original Youtube App. Interesting. What now LOL? Youtube isn't installed anymore. I can't go into the play store and turn off auto update or anything.

So now you don't have any youtube app on /system/app? Install Youtube via play store, then use Apps2SD or Link2SD to make it a system app (TB just can't) and then flash iYTBP again

Using Link2SD When I click. "Integrate update into system" I get an error "System Device busy or Resource busy"
Update:
Flashed iYPTB again after reinstalling YouTube, and now it's the Vanced version! Awesome! Finally got my phone to where I want it
And yes, I unchecked auto update from the play store

That's the problem.
You need to have a working youtube app before flashing the iYPTB zip on TWRP, but you should clear data and cache of this app beforehand.
PS: I also have Magisk but didn't use the module.

Might just say to heck with it and reinstall everything with magisk next weekend. Working great as is right now though
This is way late but might be helpful in the future.
I've never had luck with the Vanced installer for some reason.
Anyway, awhile back @raystef66 made an installer with the black iYTB which worked perfectly.
Besides installing new builds manually one could also swap out the builds in the installer with a newer one, white or black, I guess.

I used it, it's nice and all but the Magisk module works the same and installs the latest version. Since you use microG you may not have trouble with auto-update, but sometimes I had to reflash the zip if play updated it (Auto update is disabled and still sometimes it just decides to ignore that...)
