Hi, I installed on my samsung galaxy tab a6 (sm-t580) a custom rom (one ui port) missing the camera app, I installed the apk of the latest version compatible with my device, by samsung camera as a system app. the problem is that when I open it it doesn't work, does it need some library or something similar? if yes, where can I find it?

First of all why do you have to change the font and color it just makes it harder to read, and sometimes after installing a ROM the camera does not work and you have to do something extra to get it to work. Did you follow the instructions for your ROM to get the camera to work? Has anyone else who uses that ROM reported this problem?

I am having SAMSUNG GALAXY A7 (2015) with Stock Firmware (Indian version), android Lolipop (5.0.2)
I am a photography enthusiast, but months after buying the phone, I realized that IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY SETTINGS FOR ADJUSTING THE SHUTTER SPEED OF CAMERA, or MANUAL FOCUS, etc.
I read somewhere that various camera controls are not present because Samsung do not use camera2API in their source code.
How can I solve this thing?? I tried N number of apps which offer manual controls, but none of them worked.
I am thinking about rooting the device and go for any CM ROM, but don't know whether changing the ROM will help or not.
Need help to use this feature on my Galaxy A7. If it is possible on stock ROM somehow, it would be better. But if it is possible using any other ROM, do let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Hey, I've been using Samsung stock camera since the start and the thing is I don't get regular updates for it even though new updates are out.
I'm on 7.1.16 version. I downloaded the latest version of the stock camera and installed it manually using apk and now the front camera doesn't work it just freezes.
So if anyone can point be out the best camera build/version out there for the S8 it would be very grateful.
Thanks
Are you sure is was for the s8 and not for note 8

In my experience, it's often more stable to root the stock firmware and then remove the bloatware (using Titanium Backup or Link2SD). That way you have a rom that's tailored for the device and you don't have issues like the camera not working on custom roms, certain video codecs that aren't supported, ...
Unless there's an official CyanogenMod or LineageOS for the device.

That is what I want, but can't seem to get it done. The newest Magisk is not working. Older versions aren't. Anyone got it done? Just need root to get storage rights for external SD for Syncthing..
ok, got root working now. used the "old" way, supersu, for an old ROM..
I'm looking to use the NFC Card Emulator app with an S8 to emulate my apartment's NFC access card.
I've already done this on my Pixel with no issues--all it really needs is root. But with Samsung phones it's a bit more complicated since apparently Samsung stock doesn't allow you to write to the NFC configuration file, even with root. Supposedly it is possible with a non-stock ROM.
So, before I go on a possible trial-and-error ROM flashing spree, I'm wondering if anyone is aware of any S8 ROMs here that would work for this (or if anyone is actually emulating NFC now and if so, what ROM are you using to do so). Many of the ROMs are stock based, and I'm not sure if that would entail the same limitations on NFC writing.
Cheers

The Xposed one? I hope your have an exynos cause it doesn't work with any snapdragon rom as they are all based off stock

No, it's standalone on the Play store. It can use Xposed to broadcast NFC with screen off, but doesn't need Xposed to work. My Pixel is on stock 8.2 beta 2 and obviously not running Xposed, and the app works just fine so long as the screen is on (even without unlocking). I have my elevator access card written to it so I just tap my phone to use the elevator.
The S8 that I'm trying to replicate this on is one of the Exynos chip models, it's the G950FD. On the app itself, it warns that Samsung devices on stock ROMs won't be able to use the app because Samsung locks the NFC config file, but that any non-stock ROM (and they give Aurora ROM as a specific example) will work fine. Aurora ROM says that it's based on "Samsung Experience 8.1" which I assume means that it's stock based. What I'm wondering is, does that mean I should be able to use any stock based ROM (as long as it isn't actually just stock) and have this work.

Really, I was thinking of that specific app as I installed it from play store. When it didn't work I apparently mistakenly assumed it was due to Xposed when it sounds like it was due to the stock s8 ROMs NFC bits. Good to know! Thanks for the info.
Did it work after all?
Is there no way to do this?
I really want it
I moved to the custom ROM LineageOS 19.1 (Android 12) and so far I really like it.
But what I miss from the ASOP are the Samsung Gallery and the Samsung Camera. They worked well for me and I currently evaluate alternatives.
But what I also tried, installing this apps from the APKs I backuped. But this doesn't work. The Samsung Galaxy Store says that f.e. the Gallery app isn't compatible.
Is it even possible?
