I am having SAMSUNG GALAXY A7 (2015) with Stock Firmware (Indian version), android Lolipop (5.0.2)
I am a photography enthusiast, but months after buying the phone, I realized that IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY SETTINGS FOR ADJUSTING THE SHUTTER SPEED OF CAMERA, or MANUAL FOCUS, etc.
I read somewhere that various camera controls are not present because Samsung do not use camera2API in their source code.
How can I solve this thing?? I tried N number of apps which offer manual controls, but none of them worked.
I am thinking about rooting the device and go for any CM ROM, but don't know whether changing the ROM will help or not.
Need help to use this feature on my Galaxy A7. If it is possible on stock ROM somehow, it would be better. But if it is possible using any other ROM, do let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Hey, I've been using Samsung stock camera since the start and the thing is I don't get regular updates for it even though new updates are out.
I'm on 7.1.16 version. I downloaded the latest version of the stock camera and installed it manually using apk and now the front camera doesn't work it just freezes.
So if anyone can point be out the best camera build/version out there for the S8 it would be very grateful.
Thanks
Are you sure is was for the s8 and not for note 8
Hello guys,
I'm quite a noob at rooting, custom ROMs etc as I just started and I really hope I made this thread in the correct section.
First things first. I have a Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 (J510FN) running Resurrection Remix 5.8.4 flashed with TWRP. Everything is running fine, as it's supposed to run with no problems or anything.
However I have to say that the camera quality is absolutely horrible. It literally looks like the photo has been taken with a 20 year old camera. No joke. Changing the settings in the stock camera app didn't do anything.
So I thought maybe i can flash another camera app and use that since every other camera I used (stock os, viperOS) performed far better. My question is: can I actually do this ? Am I supposed to do anything else besides that ?
Thanks in advance !
Not sure about flashing a custom ZIP but if you have root you could use adb to push another camera app to /system/priv-app
Thanks for the tip, I will try.
Search for "camera port flashable XDA" on Google.
You will find Miui, Flyme, HTC, OnePlus, Sony, Asus, etc.
Almost any camera you want.
Thanks man
I had several samsung phones overall past years . After short time I always root them or flash custom software. Recently I switched from my last modded S5 to S8 plus and.. this phone is working great ! One of the best samsung so far. And here is the problem. I dont want to loose current stability/performance of the phone because its working fine, however I would need few addons that may impact on the software:
This changes are:
- Add Viper4Audio (eventualy beatAudio) - its a must
- Add google HDR camera
- Add modded S8 camera with higher bitrates for recording
- Optional: remove some of the bloatware. Currently I can only disable them, but there are not necessary for me.
+ I dont want to lose finger scanner.
Thats really all I need.
Based on the list above it seems I should at least root the phone, flash twrp to install cameras, custom kernel for permissive mode (V4A)? and maybe just a custom firmware to remove bloatware.
I have a question , if you could help me: What should be my steps to archive above points with minimal possible impact on software (like flash twrp install apps and then get back to samsung bl) ? Or is there a known custom software that has miminal changes but allows me to perform above tasks ?
Im using Samsung S8+ exynos European version.

Also, once you're rooted you can install those manually, same process as the s5 pretty much
I'm still using my rooted stock Note 3 (kitkat), but am running into more and more apps that can't be installed.
I've tried out a couple of ROMs (Phronesis, Lineage), but the camera doesn't work right on those. Blurry in general, and focus is off.
I use the camera all the time and need it to take sharp photos.
Is there a ROM out there that has the camera working well or is it time to give up on the Note 3?
Samsung TW roms camera should work well .
Have you tried installing apps when using a stock Samsung 5.01 ROM?
Hi, I installed on my samsung galaxy tab a6 (sm-t580) a custom rom (one ui port) missing the camera app, I installed the apk of the latest version compatible with my device, by samsung camera as a system app. the problem is that when I open it it doesn't work, does it need some library or something similar? if yes, where can I find it?

First of all why do you have to change the font and color it just makes it harder to read, and sometimes after installing a ROM the camera does not work and you have to do something extra to get it to work. Did you follow the instructions for your ROM to get the camera to work? Has anyone else who uses that ROM reported this problem?
