I recently bought an android radio for Mitsubishi Outlander II and it doesn't play very well.
Maybe i can root this headunit for viper4android or something else like custom rom for better quality?

The factory menu and reboot to recovery code is 0000 for my device.

how you updated the soft?
zip file for sd card and for radio,
zipped up? 3x reset before uploading?
Settings and Last one android Upgrade. So Head Unit reboot to recovery and there I choose the zip. No 1x time wipe and factory reset before thats it

I bought this 6 months ago. First month usage then the sound is gone. Send back to the local seller in Malaysia. After the repair my unit have the sound but it gone crazy by random frequent reboot. When I asked for the firmware from the seller he simply refuse to give me. I really like this unit with android 9 and the built-in 4G capability. Tried looking for the stock firmware or any root or mod for it but with no avail. Any help would be really appreciated.

This chipset have 3G capability only right? Because the sim signal icon on my unit sometimes shows 4G.
Downloading the firmware now but failed once. The speed is around 50-200kbps but always at the lowest speed that is below 100kbps....phew.

Are you updating with the firmware given by balkanera? Are you sure it is not working? I just finished download the fw that I left downloaded overnight. I feel unsure to update the fw now....gosh.

It's definitely not running Android. Might be a WINCE unit, or proprietary. I very highly doubt you can load anything else onto it. If you do want an Android radio you have to be sure to search for "pure android car radio". Also suggest not getting a AN21-U unit and try for the units with a RK3188 processor and look over to the unit with the MTCB MCU. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcb-android-head-unit-general

You need to open unit. There is board number written inside.
You need firmware for board version, not for the model. I installed firmware from gearbest and it bricked my unit (it was listed for model 7018b).
After few days searching i found out on other website about that.
It will be like this:
Model: 7018B
Board: 7022B-C500-V0.1
and then you can find firmware. Also you cant flash firmware through sdcard as there is no working firmware for that model.
You need to use CH431 programmer and flash directly eeprom chip.

I have a strange problem with this device.
All other phones got connected via bluetooth and play music fine.
Only Oneplus 7T when connected
music stutters.
Any workaround for it.
I have purchased a 7018B , 2GB , 16GB internal storage. It came with Oreo 8.1 installed and works great with Sygic GPS as well as Google Maps & Waze. I have also installed VLC for music playback. I have about 20GB music loaded onto a 32GB MicroSD. Great value - does all I want it to do.

I believe 2din vs 1din does not make any difference in terms of ROM version, screen resolution does. Is there a chance you've downloaded wrong resolution ROM? If so, just download yours and reflash.

Long story short the file i ended up flashing i got off the russian forums because thats the only place i could find files for my specific unit but i didn't read the small print at the bottom that had files linked somewhere else and i wasnt suppose to do a certain update because it makes the screen stop working an I was originally trying to fix the battery threshold level to keep unit from restarting from acc to on position it took the update fine just when it restarted the unit the screen hasnt worked since so I've been trying to find a way to either make a auto update recovery disk of some sort or connect a pc to it through adb or something an anither thing to note is i have no back up or anything of my unit an its been a pain trying to find one i messaged the original seller to see if they could help me out an send me the stock files

No, but I still have the unit and to be honest they sent me another one and it still work i suppose i got break it out and get my tools out and dive in getting my hands dirty and try to extract the firmware file myself from the unit
Hello guys i just got this unit a month ago rk3399 px6 android 9, 4gb + 64gb with ips display. I realize this unit is quite hot after 15-30 minutes of running music or video. After looking at other people installing heatsink & fan, i start buying the tools i need ( drill, mini grinder, 4cm usb fan (i choose usb because i can unplug when i dont want to use it by opening my drawer), heatsink ( not yet arrive), and super glue.
I just finish install the fan and i was happy with the result. Before installing the fan the temperature is around 42-78 C and after installing the fan the temperature is around 32-52 C.
The hardest part is making a hole in this project
The only problem i find in this unit is the brightness, i have set it to the lowest number but at night it still too bright and hurt my eyes. If any of you have solution please share.
You guys can share knowledge in this thread about STM32.

thanx for the reply I did it a couple of times but still nothing. I think maybe the device lost its factory settings. how do I enter the factory settings menu on this device? And where can I get the firmware for this device as well. Will you be able to make a dump of the software for me from your unit maybe it can work after reinstallation.

Since they are reseller, ask them to contact seller in china who help them selling the unit. Maybe they will help.

I dont think this unit can be root. Since no one support/help modified the firmware or software.

This unit seems good to me. It is new so there are not firmware and mods but we need some a modder that looking to it. For firmware I think bangood is only a restseller would find the product or.

I have a 'blue aluminum' PX6 with STM32 arrived some days ago. From outside it looks just fine however when I started to test it thoroughly it was proved to be disappointing.
I attach software detail in a screenshot.
From software/OS point of view my unit is very unsophisticated.
- OS has been customized by the manufacturer, almost nothing like android 9 on a phone.
- 'Radio' is a startup app and cannot turn it off, very annoying for me.
- 'Settings' app is very customized with limited functionality, really basic.
- The system does some iteration of boot cycle sometimes, I have not yet figured out what is the trigger.
Personally, I would install a custom ROM such as for MTCD/MTCE variants as soon as I have it, sadly no ROM for STM32 variant yet.
I am very sad that such a "modern" hardware has such poor software.

I am also unskilled to extract the ROM from my unit (STM32).

I have mine rooted... No problems with the firmware... Never got any errors or anything... Maybe I was lucky and they sent me one which was made with attention

Uhmm... I just installed supersu and copied all files needed for root in their places... Reboot, Then busybox and there I have the root...
I have recently bought a POS 8227L headunit.
Initially after installing it all, it worked well. Until all google functions disappeared, with no hope of getting them back.
So i did a factory reset. After re-configuring the touch screen, connecting google and re-downloading the apps, i attempted to set up the steering wheel.... After using the factory code of 8888 I tried to access Protocol Settings, every time i click on that it kicks me out of the menu, when going back in i can access every other area except protocol settings. That's the area i need to change the canbus settings for the steering wheel?!!
What am i missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes I did, I was sent some by the seller, however it wouldn’t install for me. It just crashes on install.
I am in the process of sending it back to the seller. It’s a ****ty unit.
The unit was also a faked version 9.0 it is actually 8.1.

After using the factory code of 8888 I tried to access Protocol Settings, every time i click on that it kicks me out of the menu, when going back in i can access every other area except protocol settings. That's the area i need to change the canbus settings for the steering wheel?!!
What am i missing? Any help would be appreciated.

I have the sme type of unit and got a firmware update from alibaba ( 4 days of searching and writing a ton of sellers to find the right one hehe
I installed the "update" and its all oke now ( for me )
Steeing wheel setup is the part what i dont get working at all.
I have a Mercedes E200 from 2001 and a CanBus converter with the "china lead" wires Key 1 / Key 2 & earth
But the type of canbus converter seems not be in the list ......... ( i think )
On the BMW E83, the setting is actually for a VW Passat weirdly enough, so I’d do some research on what other people have used. As the BMW setting isn’t actually there either.
I have given completely up with the stereo, and got a full refund on it. It’s currently sat in the garage where it’s been for the last 2 months!
What did you need the firmware for in the end?
And do you have a link for it? I may try on mine to do that.

If you are losing Chrome & Playstore then this can be the solution for your Android car stereo

I gonna look for a place to dump it with a download link its about 700MB

Those are made for this radio (different sellers, different screens - Same radio)
I can upload them to if needed
For what i needed the Firmware:
I had the same problem as the original starter, logging in on the playstore and after a reboot Chome and the Playstore where gone.
Did a reset, and again after logging in and donwloading Waze and some other stuff the playstore was missing afer a reboot.
After the update there is also a DAB+ icon but there is no DAB+ in the radio i guess

From the beginning the micrphone is very bad. You must olmost Yell else they don't hear you.
Look at the plugs on the screen 2 Point are for a external micrphone i used the cable of the Subwoofer en places that on the Point for the mic

On the back where you put your AV-Sound cable there are also empty spaces i thought pin 20 is +microphone and the one above it is the microphone -
Ik shall look for a picture
Other type radio with external mic cable, but the plugs are the same ( 19 and 20 is external microphone)
The plug for the AV ( the big one on the back, right side of the connector the top and bottom last pins)
When you go to settings you can show the picture of your "connections" on screen and check there yourself to be sure.
IM now at work and can check anything else .
