This thread I started to get some help for custom roms for witson head units. This HU similar to MTCB with Configuration OS Android 4.4.4 system CPU Rockchip 3188(PX3) Cortex A9 Quad*coreRAM DDR3 1GBFlash Built in 16GB , But cannot be installe custom roms of malaysk .
I tried various ways to flash but has not worked yet. I am not a developer so would not able do much.
There is no way to enter recovery by buttons , I tried everything I could as per instruction from [ROM][RK3066/RK3188][SD/HD] Malaysk ROMs thread.
I tried these after getting latest factory firmware for back up.
1] extracted custom romes and replaced boot, system, oem and misc img files in stock firmware folder and flashed,
everything works but stuck at recovery. did clean wipe and install from storage but sd card does not show or failed to mount. please check pics.
2] when reboot at that stage , it starts without problem but no sound , what might be the problem? it reboots itself every 2 minutes!!
3] thought reinstall MCU but factory setting password does not work tried 126/ 3368 (stock rom code), is there any workaround.
I feel some problem may be due to mixing up stock firmware and custom firmware file( I don't understand as i am not a developer) . Attached stock firmware folder sceenshot, can anyone suggest how to manage these files.
Russian forum has a thread on these units but no much progress.
can anyone help me out to flash custom roms.

Yes, I do use the sdcard slot to update. for stock rom update, we need insert into sdcard slot( GPS Slot) then restart the unit. then it updates automatically till the end before reboots, it says to remove sdcard. once sdcard removed it reboots thats it. it never stops at recovery mode while factory firmware update.
I cannot use update.img file to update firmware.
I cannot enter recovery mode by pressing any buttons even I tried on pcb board, do you have any idea to overcome it?
yes i could root it with kingsroot.
I am looking for a custom rom like malaysk kind of to flash. I am waiting for someone who could help.
Try another rom friend maybe something wrong on that rom did you try malaysk rom for ur device ?

Get into recovery
Try this
1 Press reset button and power button together
2 After about 5 secs release reset button, but keep pressing power button
3 When booting screen appears release power button.
4 It boots into recovery.
--Update 1-- some units without front USB have a different procedure
Firstly power on the unit and then long press the power button and then reset. Then the unit will get three rings and you loose your hand on the power button and short press the power button again. (thanx @netay)
--Update 2-- some others have this procedure (thanx @R4D3N)
1. Turn off the unit by holding 3-4 sec the power button.
2. Hold the RESET button + POWER button for 5 sec
3. Release the RESET button and keep pressing the POWER button for 2 sec
4. Release the POWER button and wait. The Recovery menu appears.
5. With the Volume knob you can move up/down and long press on Volume/Power button to select the option.

Hello, I have the same problem I cannot enter in recovery mode and install custom roms of malaysk .
I have a Witson W2-F9111T.
who could help me
there is no recovery implemented, no fastboot.. so I have no idea how to flash those
aren't the Witson head units the same as the RoadNavi S160? if so, then Kotix makes a ROM for them, check the S160 thread
Could you share the instructions you got from the seller?.
I'm also in the same lane, I cant seem to find any custom rom for my device, the good part though is that our hardware is way better
Now i have plenty of small issues, so I want to flash the original rom back.
Thanks !

Found this already on the russian website.
I think we CAN use malaysk rom if we use just the system image, and keep our uboot and MCU.
Will try this out and feedback here.

there "seems" to be a 5.1 release, however the build.prop shows 4.4.4 ?
Do you have firmware 5.1.1 from Witson?
I've updated my radio to 5.1.1. In my opinion nothing has changed, besides the information in the settings version of android 5.1.1
I think this is an old android only has written 5.1.1. The system looks the same as when you press the Application Manager can see the logo android 4.4 kitkat on the notification bar.

I think it's a hacked 4.4 to show 5.1
If you look in the build.prop of the download then it clearly shows a 4.4///
aaah... typical chinese cheating here, even on a firmware
Yes, i see build.prop earlier
As such a large company can just cheat customers.
Hello,
I need some guidance. I flashed the latest version of malaysk ROM. Unfortunately both recovery and the rom give me a blank screen. I know the screen works because I see the malaysk logo when I attempt to go into recovery.
I am presuming I could use a PC and fastboit mode, but how is this fine on an android head unit.
I have a 1 din, flip screen type, KLD5, RK3188 model.
Please help me.
There seem to be a lot of units flashed with the latest rom that have lost the bootloader and recovery.. I'm not seeing any fixes for this. Has anyone fixed a unit that is now stuck at the bootloader with no recovery possible?
Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
I did not try it, but this might work:
Holding the power button while turning on the unit will get you into bootloader mode. **This is battery power not acc power** The screen will be black but plugging in a usb to the front usb will prompt the PC to install the RockChip bootloader drivers - this might help http://www.cnx-software.com/2013/11...install-rockchip-usb-drivers-in-windows-xp78/
(From http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Hui_Fei_Type#Bootloader_mode)
I don’t have a power button on my HU, I wonder if the RST button or the smaller reset button above would work?

Hello there,
I have been a reader of XDA for many years but this is the first time I'm at a loss...
I have this radio: Seicane S088713 but with the T3 processor. Sorry I cannot post links (I'm a newbie!) but you can see it if you search for "9 inch 2004-2008 Chrysler Aspen 300C Android 6.0"
I managed to root it with Kingroot and all seemed fine for a while but I must have deleted something by mistake and now the unit is stack on the android screen.
Any idea how to enter recovery mode? The radio does not have any buttons or reset pin.
Also tried the Alt+PrtSCr+i but all I manage to get is the unit to reboot.
Any ideas? I have looked a fair bit of info on this particular radio but there's no much on it.
Have you find the way to get into recovery mode in the meanwhile?
I have a seicane with allwin T8, would also love to know how to enter recovery mode, if there even is one lol.
Recovery - worked for me
Did you repeatedly hit the "i" while holding the "alt + prnt scrn" buttons?
Even after the first boot screen starts?
It takes a little patience and practice if it will work at all.
If you have a poweroff button, just push it for quite some time and then push again and wait for the head unit to start, it should start right on the recovery menu after that.
I've only tried it once, and it did.
Hope you'll get there too.
Hello,
I upgrade my T3 P3 Quad Core Headunit to Android 7.1.1 using the rom given at:
4pda.ru
/forum/index.php?showtopic=837879
(With the help of Google translate)
I missed upgrading the recovery in the process because of which I cannot run the system upgrade now.
I would be grateful if someone who has upgraded their T3 P3 Quad Core headunit to Android 7.1.1 could post a copy of their Recovery.img file (can be obtained using the terminal of and application such as Rashr).
Thanks.

1. You are mistaken. Recovery does not perform the update function.
2. If you had Android 6 and you upgraded to Android 7, then now you need to use the method of emergency firmware update.
3. What firmware do you want to install?

Thank you for the response.
I installed version V8.3.2_20180105.162617_AKW1-mod and would now like to upgrade to V8.3.2_20180119.100305_TW2-ZHC-mod.
Both of these are Android 7.1.x. When I run "system update" the processing icon shows for 1-2 minutes and then android reboots. However, after boot up the rom version still shows the same 20180105.
If I boot into recovery the version shown is android 6.0.1. Was assuming that the system update isn't working because the recovery was not updated.
Would appreciate your guidance on how to upgrade the Android 7 version & if the recovery update will help or not.
Thanks.

You need to rename the firmware files, as you did the first time.
Use these methods of emergency firmware update.
1. Hold Home (mechanical button), press Reset, and keep holding Home until the update starts.
Instead of the Home button, you can connect the KEY1 (Steering wheel controls) wire to the ground. Or press the button on the steering wheel connected to KEY1.
2. Yet another procedure might be needed for some units: Using a USB stick prepared as above and inserted in the unit, turn ignition to ACC, press Reset, turn ignition off, then after 5 seconds turn it again to ACC.

Hello,
Sorry for using this topic but I'm a new user...
I have an Android 7.1 radio that doesn't work correctly after disconnecting the canbus box from it.
I did a video https://youtu.be/PcQrKQD8FKs
Can you help with is?
Hi Intrusion4,
I know it's an old post but I'm having the same problem on a Allwinner T3 P3.
At first the Bluetooth stopped working 6 months ago but that didn't bothered me too much, instead this morning i found the GPS icon blinking and everything not related to the Android OS stopped working (Radio, Music Player, Navigation, Car Info, etc). I can't raise the volume and brightness either just like you in your video.
Do you still remember if you solved it and how did you do it?
Thank you
hello, i have a 10.25'' android screen in my Mercedes , the system gave me an error ''unfortunately, the process com. android. phone has stopped'' and crashed so instead of doing a software reinstall im trying to wipe up the cache partition but the problem is that the screen doesn't have a physical keys in order to enter the recovery mode , it only has a reset button that only helps to do a software install but it doesn't help entering the recovery mode . any ideas on how to enter recovery mode without physical buttons please ?

Hello,
I've a similar problem.
I've my rooted 10.25'' android screen in my Audi and so with an app like "EasyReboot" I can reboot in recovery mode.
But when I'm within the recovery mode I can't select any line to for example make a backup on SD.
I tried to connect an usb keyboard but It isn't recognized (It's well recognized when the HU running).
I've just remark that when I touch the screen with 2 fingers, the first line is selected (Reboot now).
So maybe a finger touch combinaison ?

For me i cant download any app , basically i cant use the system, the error popped up and never goes away, i want to clean the cache partition but i dont know how to enter recovery mode in order to do it.
For me I would just use the shift & arrow keys to select the line I wanted.
The arrow keys in my keyboard didn’t work without the shift key.
Also the keyboard didn’t work until I pressed the pinhole reset button

someone got how to enter factory reset ??
I have (almost) exactly the same problem like steck31: I get into ecovery mode, but there I cannot do anything, except make the first line green. on my device, it's not by two fingers anywhere, but by one finger in the upper right corner.
Any solution?
For people struggling getting into recovery mode at all:
Connect a PC and the HU into same network (WiFi on the hu), then install adb (many instructions for that on the net), and type:
adb connect 192.xxx.xx.xx (IP of HU)
adb reboot recovery
Ok, I have a solution for what I wanted to do in the recovery mode: Erase the device.
This can be done like described here:
while releasing the reset button, keep tapping with FIVE fingers on the screen, then the device gets into "erasing".
