hello, i have a 10.25'' android screen in my Mercedes , the system gave me an error ''unfortunately, the process com. android. phone has stopped'' and crashed so instead of doing a software reinstall im trying to wipe up the cache partition but the problem is that the screen doesn't have a physical keys in order to enter the recovery mode , it only has a reset button that only helps to do a software install but it doesn't help entering the recovery mode . any ideas on how to enter recovery mode without physical buttons please ?

Thanks for the reply , I do have a USB plug , i will connecting a keyboard but what should i press on it in order to get the recovery mode ?
Hello,
I've a similar problem.
I've my rooted 10.25'' android screen in my Audi and so with an app like "EasyReboot" I can reboot in recovery mode.
But when I'm within the recovery mode I can't select any line to for example make a backup on SD.
I tried to connect an usb keyboard but It isn't recognized (It's well recognized when the HU running).
I've just remark that when I touch the screen with 2 fingers, the first line is selected (Reboot now).
So maybe a finger touch combinaison ?

For me i cant download any app , basically i cant use the system, the error popped up and never goes away, i want to clean the cache partition but i dont know how to enter recovery mode in order to do it.
For me I would just use the shift & arrow keys to select the line I wanted.
The arrow keys in my keyboard didn’t work without the shift key.
Also the keyboard didn’t work until I pressed the pinhole reset button

someone got how to enter factory reset ??
I have (almost) exactly the same problem like steck31: I get into ecovery mode, but there I cannot do anything, except make the first line green. on my device, it's not by two fingers anywhere, but by one finger in the upper right corner.
Any solution?
For people struggling getting into recovery mode at all:
Connect a PC and the HU into same network (WiFi on the hu), then install adb (many instructions for that on the net), and type:
adb connect 192.xxx.xx.xx (IP of HU)
adb reboot recovery
Ok, I have a solution for what I wanted to do in the recovery mode: Erase the device.
This can be done like described here:
while releasing the reset button, keep tapping with FIVE fingers on the screen, then the device gets into "erasing".

Holding down the volume keys and turning the power on doesn't work with the vibrant.
Try this instead.
Do a Factory data restore to factory default settings, dial in:
*#*#7780#*#* Follow the onscreen instructions. You should probably make sure you have full battery or that the phone is plugged into power before doing this, and if it freezes, I don’t think it’s a good idea to ever do battery pulls during a restore, you may brick the phone. Also the phone will reboot on its own, and may take a long time to start back up, may get locked onto that galaxy “s” screen..give it some time, don’t pull your battery out. Again do at your own risk.

tried doing that with no luck... ,,, this is really weird error... it says "no reset was performed because the System Clear service is not available" thats totally insane, i tried almost everything i could find over on internet... any more suggestions?...
You're supposed to hold both Vol Up and Vol Down at the same time. If that doesn't work there's always this:
adb shell
su
rm -r /data/

thanks for everyone who helped...

I had the same problem, couldn't download anything from the market or do factory reset. i found this solution on the web and it worked.
1. go to your settings
2. select "applications"
3. then select "manage applications"
4. press menu and select "filter" then "All"
5. scroll down to:
a) "Checkin Service" then select "clear data"
b) "Download Manager" then select "clear data"
c) "Google Apps" then "clear data"
d) "Google Talk Service" then select "clear data"
e) " Market" then select "clear cache"
After this I was able to download app from market and reset to factory default.

If you formatted everything instead of just doing the 'wipe' options (ESPECIALLY the /system partition, formatted or wiped), its dead unless you can get into recovery and flash a ROM.
I dont know how to enter the cwm....

Hi,
you can reach the recovery, if you connect an USB Keyboard to the Ouya.
Power on the device and press ALT+Print(S-Abf). Then press the "i" key for a about few seconds, stop pressing it and repeat the precedure.
After 5-6 Times you should reach the recovery and you can sideload an Image.

Yes, ADB reboot bootloader will take you into fastboot mode. You'll need to tell windows to use the ADB drivers again, but I was able to boot the CWM recovery image this way without flashing it.

Very glad to hear it! I didn't see much mention of fastboot, so I was somewhat concerned.
Hello everybody (please apologize for my bad english...)

ERROR: Cannot read recovery_header

ERROR: Cannot read kernel image
ERROR: Could not do normal boot. Reverting to fastboot mode.

Here's what happens when I power the phone holdind Volume - :
PB92100
SPL-1.07.0000
ENGID 0xF
PCBID 0x80
MicroP(LED) 0x05
TP SNAPTICS
Please, could anyone help me to solve the above? has anyone experienced this?
Thank you
First of all, do you want android or Windows?
for android, when you see "ENTERING FASTBOOT MODE" then you can reinstall the Recovery and go!
Thanks for replying.
I just want my phone work again, so either Windows or Android...
But with android, i already intalled LK Boot (the message appears in blue now) then i installed the recovery from SC Dard but when the phone boots, it's only showing the black screen with message (in blue). With windows I stuck with the ''Invalid vendor ID'' while installing with RUU (I can't determinate my Vendor ID). So please help

You had Android before as you said, so you can come back to android easily. just be really sure you have reinstalled the Recovery correctly! (Even this happened to me, but at last you will Pass!)
have you tried to manually enter recovery by VolumeUp?
Please tell us the ROM you want to use.
I can't enter recovery manually, only with PC (with CWM LK Boot Recovery's update.bat file). when i power on the phone holding volume up, the phone displays this message (in blue = meaning that the LK Boot is installed):
nand id: 0x5500bcec maker=0xec device=0xbc

press VOLUME DOWN for FASTBOOT
flash_read_image: failed (319 errors)
ERROR: Cannot read recovery_header

The rom i installed is Phonerty-MIUIv4-2.10.26
Thank again for replying

nand id: 0x5500bcec maker=0xec device=0xbc
press VOLUME UP for RECOVERY

Good,
When you can't enter Recovery manually (Volume Up), means either it hasn't been installed correctly or you button is damaged. Yes LK Boot is installed (the blue texts) but the Recovery (graphic interface) seems hasn't been installed.
if you can enter Recovery by PC, why not format and install ROM there (don't restart)? you may pass anyway!
and the last thing, did you hold both Power and Volume up? you should just power then release it, but hold Volume UP, what we see in the text you showed us, the phone hasn't detect the pressed Volume Up.
Have a nice try!

I've also formatted before i install the ROM but no succes...
I don't think there is a problem with the volume up button 'cause i use it in the recovery and when i press both volume buttons and power button it leads me to the WP reset option (factory resset) and i use the volume up button to confim the action (restoring).
And, is there a way in can check my Vendor ID? 'cause i would like to install WP but fastboot doesn't give me the CID, the command ''fastboot getvar CID'' returns ''CID: '' then nothing. I'm so desesperate...
BR.
Going Back to WM you should have the right ROM, or contact HTC for the right one, read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21617447&postcount=2

Alright then,
You said you can't enter Recovery by VolumeUp, right?
if right, connect USB to PC, Click on Update.bat, press number one, then number two, and restart phone (don't unplug phone), when entered fastboot, press number two again, you may now enter manually recovery. if you couldn't pass, press number two and on your phone you would see recovery interface, format and install the ROM, unplug USB and restart phone.....
Okay, will try. thanks again

yeah I mean those 4 arrow buttons which you should touch them. if you touch the arrow, the selection above will move. And there is no need to move by using Volume keys in Recovery.
using PC, it should be possible through terminal ADB, which are some codes for connection. but I don't support this way.
I recommended that you do it by using touch, if the four arrow touch doesn't work, then how can you use it with Android? especially the Phone app is in the four arrow button direction.

Hi friends,
I have a Samsung galaxy J5 2016 (SM-J510F/DS). It is continuously rebooting, it reaches till android home screen and reboots from there. While in the home screen it shows a msg (Android is Starting.....), and then it reboots. I have observed that all the button presses and touch is working for a short duration in between the reboots. I have searched all over internet and tried numerous ways to enter to recovery mode, download mode, nothing is working. My home button is also not working. Can somebody suggest me a way to enter to recovery mode so that I can do a clean wipe and start new. Please help. Thank you.
Hi,
Did you tried to make reset from within phone settings ? May be you are able to enter Recovery Mode after that!
( My Samsung Galaxy J 3 pro was almost in the same condition rebooting again & again, One Repairer even said that the display has gone but I was able to enter the recovery mode > Bootlaoder > Download Mode & flashed latest stock rom with ODIN > Working perfect now! )
I turned off the phone before it reboots. Once it was completely off, I pressed ''Volume Up + Home + Power'' Buttons all together, released them as soon as anything appeared / flashed on the screen, an installing update screen appeared & then I was right in the Recovery Mode with all the options.
Thanks.
Thank you for the reply, but my home button is not working.

I want to boot the phone to bootloader mode. However, when I come to the recovery mode, it says "[libfs_mgr]Error updating for slotselect" at the very bottom of the screen.
If I continue to choose Reboot to bootloader, it prints the same error message again a second time, and very quickly (less than 1s) reboots to the OS. So I can't go to the bootloader.
If anyone knows what happen and how to fix it, please help. Many thanks.
My phone is a totally new one:

I have the same problem on the SM-A528B and any rom that installs even the originals with the bootloader locked to the original settings, still, my tele keeps blinking as if it had superimposed images... If anyone has a backup of the ROM STOCK, obviously without the data and EFS and can make it available I would appreciate it, I think it's some partition error, but so far I haven't been able to find any tutorial to clean and reinstall from scratch...

This is what i did to solve
from PC adb reboot recovery --> Reboot to recovery
Select reboot to bootloader ---same time press both volume up and down and press power key to select.
somehow booted to bootloader downloading mode..try and update, thanks.
