Use orangefox as recovery and if you get a compatibility error try to delete the file compatibility.zip from the rom zip

Confused on 3rd steps
we need to follow following procedure:-
1) boot on cwm recovery.
2)factory wipe/reset.
3)then goto mount option.
3)then mount system and firmware and format the system.
4)then unmount system.
6)Then flash miuiv6 ROM by suhas.reboot
7)then option came rom will flash stock recovery when boot disable it.
It will boot surely
If ROM boots then flash gapps I used Paco version
I am having confusion on 3rd step as you said we have to mount system and firmware.... but you said format system only... do we need to format firmware ??
kindly reply fast..

now you can go to further steps.

this method is not for latest version . this is for older one so all of you need to download this MIUI.
and flash this one using all these steps. you will get success. and you can update your rom using MIUI inbuilt updater.
there ' s an updated MIUI 5.4.3 version after this . i wanted to try the updated one .
- so u mean instead of using the latest 5.4.3 version , i should try the older 5.3.6 version from the link you have provided ?
- should i downgrade to official kitkat from the cm12.1 64bit I ' m currently on or i can flash it as it is ?
- and whats the exact wiping / mounting process then to install MIUI6 successfully ?

first of all.
you need to downgrade you version. u r on cm12.1 right.
so go to that guide which i provide you.
now download MIUI 5.3.6 rom which is older version.
flash MIUI 5.3.6 rom
after first boot and copmplete your setup vizard.
you vill see "updater" app in tools folder.
go to that app
on above left side you will see 3dot press it and there you will see manuall select file or like that option
now navigate to MIUI 5.4.3 rom
not it will boot in to recovery
give it confirm and reboot.
NOW you r in MIUI 5.4.3
Hey there. So, I tried installing Miui 7 (weekly updated one) after following the steps accurately, but it says, failed to extract dir from system to system.I tried running it from both internal storage and external, and re-downloading it,but to no avail. Help please ?Oh, and I was running ED300's cm12.1 update 8 (now on update 10,which actually sucks very much)

Reboot to recovery>>wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache>>install zip>>select MIUI zip>>reboot
Note: Sometimes, the MIUI rom shows error at first time. So again select install zip and select the MIUI zip, without rebooting.

Okay so I need more help. I think I'll also be flashing phantom kernel.after installing miui. Haven't started yet but will soon. The problem is that I'm a complete noob with kernels. So... What are the things I'm gonna have to do ? CM12.1 just keeps getting worse with each update .??

It's possible but you need to disable dm-verity in twrp (or flash lazyflasher) else it will not boot, and it will wipe your internal storage partition during installation so make sure to backup your data and place your rom in microsd rather than internal storage.
I think you better use xiaomi.eu rom rather than official, since it easier and not wiping your internal storage during installation.
Just flashed the official ROM through TWRP, disabled verify in the options just in case, threw some mount errors but installed correctly.
I just did it and it works fine.

Hello, do you have to type storage password in TWRP?
Flash an another TWRP, like latest 4PDA TWRP => https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RXCY8_a2dwUXGF7uO5B3yg9Tu93hkRdR
And use "Reboot to System" in TWRP.
