There's no fingerprint sensor either which is very strange. Only Biometrics being reported is the face unlock.

If you're talking about the Irish pricing you know that Europe pricing is different than US pricing. It's not a straight £995 converted to USD.
We've already been talking about the supposed leaked prices here:

Alright, so who will sell the cheapest Xooms on release day?

I'm hearing Costco will sell them $100 lower than Best Buy. What about the official Verizon stores?
The costco thing isn't garunteed its just assumed. I asked a costco phone guys and that's what he expected the price to be since they sell the galaxy tab for $100 less than everyone else.
Today I have confirmed costco will have it for 699 and it will requirea one month activation.

Costco doesn't do preorders.
I just talked to my costco guy again and he said they expected $600-$700 so yea I would expect $699.
Imagine if it was $599 at Costco. Lol.

We all need to call our local Costco and figure this out, a 22nd release date and $100 off would be amazing.

I just called my Costco and they had nothing in their inventory about the Motorola Xoom, strange. It's stuff like this that makes me iffy that EVERY Costco will have it on release day, especially if it's not even on their website.

True, but as i said i actually read the first email myself. It said "as soon as the 22 they would have a live demo, as soon as the 24 they would have the sell units." I think the key is AS SOON AS. This means depending on previous sells and the area the costco is in, it may be different. It may be they are holding out info too. Let me see if i can get the item number real quick. <Not in the system yet> Also make sure you are asking for the phone kiosk, not the main store.

Do we get taxed?

I'm located in BC, Canada. Does anyone have experience to buying google devices on play.google.com?
Those of you in Canada, did you have to pay tax? Or is it $309 outright?
One more question, can we preorder the phone or do we have to wait til Nov 13 to buy the phone online?
Thanks~!
I'm sure there will be taxes collected somehow... as for when we order I'm not sure. Hoping earlier then the 13 so we get it on that day. So in other words a pre-order.

When you place your order it will be from Google Canada Corp. You will be charged HST and shipping. There are no pre-orders.
Thanks for the promptly replies! I think I'll buy it in stores to save on the shipping. How soon do you think Futureshop or Bestbuy will start selling the N4? Right on the 13th?
Thanks~!
Doubt it. Maybe 2-7 days after. There hasn't been any leaked info about anyone carrying it in stores in Canada yet. Same with carriers. The only carrier that I have seen that has any info on if they will be carrying it is tmobile. That's it.
I could be wrong tho.

And you will have to pay tax on it aswell.

For profit. They know people will pay $20 or 30 more because they won't buy it online. You might be able to price match it if your lucky.
Profit. Cover costs like shipping. Marketing etc. Wouldn't be surprised if I see if for 450+ in stores.

Not really. They get bulk discounts. You will be surprised on how much bestbuy/futureshop actually gets them for.
Well hopefully it won't be too expensive... When I got the nexus 7 from best buy when it first came out, they charged the same as play store (259 CAD).
$403.20 after tax
dayum
btw, anybody here on wind/mobilicity?
As an employee of best buy in Canada I can tell you that the company won't be selling the phone outright. (Galaxy nexus wasn't sold either) Makes absolutely no profit (all profits come from activations not phone sales) so your best bet, and mine, is the Google play store.

Are you talking about the nexus 4 specifically or (smartphones) in general? If in general I doubt they'll be able to get that much of a discount, especially off the 8gb version.

I didn't make any profit from selling my S3 ;'(
UK buyer here. I was under the impression that the £279 for the 16 gig included tax.
After having another look on the "Devices on Google Play Terms of Sale (Great Britain)" page it states:
All prices include VAT.
All applicable taxes will be presented at checkout, even if they are not displayed on the product page.
So what is it, the price shown includes VAT, or it doesnt and an extra 80 quid will be thrown on top of the 279?

I hear you! Tuff Tuff decision. I had an order placed with B&H but cancelled because of the uncertainties and Verizon's price point. Ugh, what to do? What to do?
So not only will it be $672, and the headphone promo, but you can also get the Stylo V 2 phone for $1 month over 24 months ($24 total), and $300 device credit on select smartphone trades. I'm sure Verizon will limit which smartphones will quality for the $300 trade, and I doubt my Note 2, 3, 4 will quality...... Unlike Tmobile thatis $200 trade for any working smartphone.

I looked to see what would happen if I selected the V20 on my primary line and the Stylo 2V on the second line. It does discount the Stylo 2V down to $1/month ($24 total).

Pixel / Pixel XL manufacturer warranty almost up

Was discussing RMA options with a google rep because my pixel xl developed some screen burn, and he said something along the lines of "Good thing you called now, cut off dates coming up.". Curious to what he was referring to, i asked what he meant, and this is what he told me..
"Manufacturers warranty for the first gen pixel is ending on the 21st."
For your pixel. Did you buy it 1 year ago on the 21st?
BS, my warranty leaflet (UK) says it's a 2 year limited manufacturer warranty.
Europe has such better warranties than the US
Verizon now has the Pixel on sale for $5 / month. That is incredible. $120 over a two year period. I didn't read the fine print but then again I didn't see any either.
where did you find this? i've been unable to find that special.

I hit the same thing, AFTER it took my credit card. You don't need to use that link just google squaretrade sartphone plan.
I called the number and was told they no longer offer that plan and it was my fault for using google to find them. I explained I was on a page in their site that took my credit card and that he's telling me it's an old unsupported page that you can only get to through google.
I asked to talk to manager and was told they were all busy and one would call me back.
I've used these guys in the past but from that experience I'd stay away from them at all costs. They now have credit cards under false pretense. If I don't get a satisfactory answer within 24 hours I'll be reporting them for PCI violations
UPDATE: Got a call from a "Manager" who obviously had no more clue than the idiot I talked to earlier. He kept saying "well if we charge you, we'll refund". He obviously has not idea about credit card security or his company obligations. I will be reporting them to Allstate and filing a PCI complaint first thing.
I guess I'll get Upsie a shot.
I have used Worth Ave Group. For 1100 in coverage it is about $100 with $50 deductible. Covers accidental damage and theft but not loss.
