Today, the Moto X has dropped to $130 for Att and Verizon and $150 for Sprint on contract at Costco.com (3rd party called Wireless Advocates), plus those crazy taxes of course (approximately $50, I think). I bought my X for $200 from Costco two weeks ago and called today for a price adjustment, which they offer for 30 days beyond your purchase date.
Not only does Costco offer an amazing 90 day return policy (which I took advantage of to change from the HTC One), include an accessory pack (kinda worthless), and offer free shipping and activation, but there's an additional rebate offer on Sprint's Moto X this month only for a bonus portable battery pack (Motorola brand, I believe). A battery pack could seriously come in handy with our non-removable battery situation.
Costco also offers warranty by Square Trade for $99, which I believe is a good deal, if that appeals to you.
I know the price for a Moto X is lower now at Best Buy and Amazon, but factor in what Costco offers and see if it might work better for you.

Keep in mind after 14 days your in a contract. You can't change phones after the first 14 days without approval from the management. You can return it up to day 90 but your in a contact.

Just making sure we are all on the same page. Even swapping to a different device after 14 days requires approval though.

I don't recall any approval process. I simply called Costco, told them I had a problem with the call quality of the HTC One, and that I'd like to change to the Moto X. As soon as it became available, they processed the exchange. I had to pay upfront for the new phone and will (hopefully) get the refund when they process my return. Maybe there was an approval in the background somewhere.
Anyone know if this is online only or if it would be the same price in the store?

The only one listed as being available in the warehouses is the ATT model, and the price could be different. Give 'em a call.
Already a couple Pixel XL posted for sale on Swappa.
Never takes long for that. It's called capitalism as individuals seek inflated monetary compensation.
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
yep some people buy just to sell on while they are rare as they know it is quick money from the impatient.
Swappa is outstanding.
Trying to cash in on other peoples impatience. Especially with Google phones since there have been several times Google has totally screwed up orders on new releases. Funny thing is those people buying them just to sell them just make it worse for those that are waiting for their personal orders. Watch out for warranty issues on resold phones as I got caught on it on the Nexus 4 on a phone purchased on ebay never opened and Google refused to cover the phone after 2 months. I will never buy a new phone from a third party again.
So I pre-ordered both the XL and the regular pixel and was going to cancel one, but they both shipped earlier than expected. Should I just sell one on swappa - or just return it to google. I am well within 14 days to return.
I'm in the same boat as you, but after trying to sell it, I'm just gonna return it. There's too much of a chance selling it, whereas returning it gets me back all my money.
Since you have 14 days, I'd keep it sealed and list it on Swappa. If it doesn't sell in around 10 days then you can just return it to Google instead.
My .02 cents: just return it. Less hassle and guaranteed refund.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Which one are you sending back?
Honestly, I'd just return it. I've sold over 60 phones on Swappa and, while most transactions have been fine, the few problems are enough to sour the experience. One example: I had a phone that was within its return period but returning it would have required a 200 mile drive back to the store. I listed it on Swappa and it sold quickly. Three weeks after the buyer received the phone, he left me a message saying that the phone would not boot and he wanted a refund. I asked him why he didn't say anything during the first 3 weeks. He finally just stopped responding but the headache of dealing with this type of stuff makes me avoid selling when returning is an option.
Absolutely. I only had 1 bad experience on Swappa where the buyer came back 3 months later. Finally, after going through PayPal procedures, dispute process, etc I prevailed. Just a note: PayPal policies overrides Swappa's policies. So yes, refunds are the better way to go overall if you don't want to risk that one off where a buyer could be problematic.

True the same the other way around with a less than honest seller. Not original cables, 3rd party charger, not really "mint" as youd describe it, box doesnt match device ect. Not following through with daydream vr code, not responding to warranty transfer. Usually small enough details not to be worth the hassle of returning or disputing..
Due to bad experiences at both eBay and Swappa, I no longer prefer either of these methods for selling.
I first check the going rate on eBay & Swappa.
Then I deduct like 10% from that average selling rate and list my phone on Craiglist for that price and advise "Firm Price, will not sell for one dollar less - and no trades".
I still get the jerks asking me if I'll take $200 for a phone I listed at $300.
But it minimizes some traffic.
And once the cash is handed over, there are no worries about the buyer trying to scam me or return the phone over some BS reason.
I have no issues buying a phone from Swappa though.
I'd buy there before buying from eBay.
Just mentioning my personal experience and preferences.
Not telling anyone what to do.
It usually does take longer to sell on Craigslist even when it's a mega popular phone.
There are a few XL's on there as of today that are only slightly more expensive than buying from Google (maybe $50 more). I'd say that's a prety good deal since Swappa adds $10 on top of whatever price you post.
I've bought and sold from Swappa with no negative experiences.
I have an extra pixel from Google if any one needs it. Just give me what I paid for it, been here on XDA for awhile now.

I don't know. you would have to Go through the check out process and fill out the Finance application and pass credit check...i assume. May also be different if u buy through Project Fi vs Google Store.
Ask Google...their chat box support is usually very quick and easy.

meh....with Bluetooth greatly improved and now APTX and LDAC support comming...BT audio is fine.
U can also buy a good BT to headphone adapter to make any wired headphones wireless.
I use a USB external DAC (Fiio E17K ALPEN 2) to power my big headphones for serious music time anyway..so headphone jack...not a big deal to me.
I can see folks loosing a dongle easy enough though...

Well,,,,u dont pay $100 a year to Google for speedy delivery...do ya? Amazon spoils up too much.
And no surprise that it takes longer for orders to ship when a big sale or price cut happens. They are probably overrun or backordered.
Once the Pixel 2 comes out, Google will only sell the 1st gen until no stock..and not make any new ones....I believe that is what happened with the Nexus devices....i have been told anyway.

I thought that they doing the sale just to get rid of the last years pixel model? It is really good for me actually because the only reason why i didn't upgrade my n6p last year is because pixel was too expensive but now its around 560$. Hopefully they are going to do the same thing next year for the 2.

Get 325 rebate for adding a new line with pixel 2. I already ported my number out of T-MOBILE to Cricket and will port it back to T-MOBILE once I get my phone.
On top of that I turning in my phone to Google for 410 so since I am buying a regular pixel 64GB and not getting protection the phone will essentially be free
*Update* my little scheme doesn't work if you cancelled after 10/03. So you have net add a line.
Would have been cheaper to add a line. There is no requirement to keep that line active after the card ships which is 2 months tops. For me that's $30 total just to get a $325.
Not necessarily, I have 4 lines so I am paying only $5 more instead of paying $25 more

You'd have to switch to the One Plan.
You would add a line and then wait for the card to ship. Once that is done the processing is finished which the requirements. For me with kickbacks will cost me $30 total to get the $325 card at the most. If they ship within 4 weeks then it'll be $15. The Pixel doesn't have to be on that line, because the Pixel won't be in their system.

This is exactly what I'm planning to do. In addition, if you are over 55, you can switch to the 55+ plan as soon as the rebate is shipped which will allow 2 lines on the ONE plan for $60. Only one person has to be 55 so have your mom or whoever is over 55 open the account and have unlimited everything for $30.

Where can you get $150 off?? I purchased through Google store for $75 off xl
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
On the Canadian Google store the pixel 2 XL is currently 150$ off with a free home mini
Yes I was pretty upset about that. Over here in the states just a few weeks after the pre-orders they offered a $100 gift card to the google store AND a free google home mini when you purchase the Pixel 2/2XL. They then later changed it a couple weeks after that to $75 off the Pixel 2/2XL plus a free google home mini. What the hell google. Those that pre-ordered should be at least offered that $100 google store credit.
I cannot comprehend how this would be a surprise to anyone. A few short months after any new device released, it gets bogos and other discounts like crazy. This isn't new or surprising. It has been like this for years.
Complaining about it after you decided the device was worth full-price to you (by buying it at that price) just seems incredibly cheap and shallow to me.
Of course, on the other hand, if you bought it within the return window of this deal, there is nothing at all wrong with returning it and buying it on the discount. That's just being smart with your money.
What did you expect they would do for the holidays? You should expect the possibility that the price would be reduced then when you pre-ordered it. Much like so many other things sold during the holidays.
We paid more to get it first. Those who waited a couple of months get it at a discounted price. This has been happening for many years with cell phones, and almost all new technology, for that matter. Have you been living under a rock?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Pointless thread.
I'm kind of surprised that someone willing to pay $1,000.00 to be one of the first to get a device, would get miffed missing a $100 discount offered to buyers that waited a few months
I know $100 is $100, but anyone willing to drop more for a phone than most people pay for a pretty nice laptop, seems like they have a little disposable income.

That or they don't need a nice laptop because the phone does everything they need and more. Just saying, personal preference here, but I can do way more stuff on my Smartphone than I can a tablet/laptop, plus it fits in my shirt pocket.
That said, I paid "full" price for prepaid 2 XL and am not at all upset about holiday (or after holiday) deals. What's more shocking is that some people that pre-ordered just got their phones a few weeks ago, is that true?
When you buy a device to have it before everyone else, you can't expect or be frustrated with sales afterwards. You buy a device for the price you agree to by buying it. Now if you didn't get the device until after a sale started and paid full price before the sale, you can call any customer support and most of the time get the newly discounted pricing. I agree with the others... No reason to be feeling anything other than like a customer who purchased a little too soon if pricing is a concern.
Purchased mine in Australia the other day $300AU discount from retail outlet. Normally we pay here $1399AU for 64GB I got mine for $1099 one happy camper
Bought the Pixel 2 XL 64GB 2 weeks ago with a 200 euro discount in Germany (Saturn) for 739 euro`s. I wouldn`t have payed 939 euro s to be honest.
I bought mine from Saturn as well for the discounted price of 739 EUR. I made the decision to spend the required 939 EUR and found the discounted price just the other day when I came to make the purchase. Sweet gift that was... ?
