New GCam 7.0 crashes on Mi 9T - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

As title says, the new 7.0 Gcam from a Pixel 4 crashes on startup.
Didn't expect it to run on first try, but I just wanted to let our devs know about this issue
If anyone has a fix/tip for making it work let me know!

I might be wrong, but i heard gcam 7 wont run unless its on android 10. Please correct me if u know better.

This version https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog703/ works but it's buggy as expected.

Alright wonderful, thanks guys! Don't know for the Android 10 problem tho

ANDROID 8.0 OREO - Porting For Meizu PRO5

As in th title...
Oreo is coming for some few devices. Samsung, Lenovo, ZTE, Google and others will receive first roms, stock or porting, in next months. I don't know if there'll be possible porting for Meizu phones but... perhaps...
What do u think about it ? It'll be possible to see a porting in our PRO5 ? If anyone reads something regarding this, let us know :highfive:
Depends on whether faust will continue working on the Pro 5 or if he is able to port previous work into a generic 8.0 ROM (drivers etc.). Would love to see a LineageOS for Pro 5.

Bro you cant flash mi 5x rom on a1 as a1 has different parition. This will just brick you device. Actually one needs to change many things in the mi 5x rom to make it work on a1.
Why you have to flash miui when you have mi a1?if you want miui go get mi 5x.
Most people buy a1 over mi 5x is because its clean coming straight from google instead of using miui

Because Xiaomi A1 uses different LTE bands than 5X. The 5X is not very usable in Europe, particularly outside cities with 800Mhz band 20 networks.
It's quite funny to see Mi 5x users who want to flash Mi A1 rom (I'm one of these persons) and Mi A1 users who wants to flash Mi 5X rom .
Maybe we should just create an exchange platforms to trade Mi 5x against Mi A1 haha.
BTW, you're not losing much because even if you could flash the Mi5X rom, you'll only get the Chinese version with a lot of untranslated things and a few bugs and complications. (especially on the google apps side).

The best and easiest way is just trade with someone who want a1 but got mi5x instead l,they definitely would be happy with that.or you can wait and flash latest lineage os which is support flashing another bands based your location, aosp rom could flash another bands via twrp, you can wait or search someone post it on xda.as my experience with previous devices it won't make big difference unless you had problems with signal after flashing new Rom
It's not about trading, Mi 5x IS NOT IDENTICAL to A1! In many countries (the majority of the european countries actually) the LTE runs on Band 20 that Mi 5x DOESN'T SUPPORT, while A1 does.
What we're asking for is to have a device with MIUI (the xiaomi.eu MIUI, not the official one that's only in chinese with bloatware and no GApps) and Band 20 to run LTE.
---------- Post added at 12:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:26 PM ----------
ALSO
Consider that A1 stock rom has ALREADY BEEN PORTED to mi 5x so there's no reason for a Mi 5x owner to trade for an A1 since what he has to do is just flash the A1 stock rom on his device... Pointless to always say "trade for a Mi5x" or "buy a Mi5x instead".
Those are not the same phone!
Any update on this?

Any update on this? I love Mi A1 but I hate stock android so much, it forced me to sell this phone. If there was a way to get MIUI working on this device, I would immediately buy it again. Has anyone successfully got MIUI working on MI A1?

Honestly I don't think this phone will get MIUI anytime soon. It will never come from Xiaomi in my opinion, maybe someone builds a MIUI ROM for this phone but modders activity doesn't look very good at the time.
If you want to enjoy MIUI it'll be best to buy another model from Xiaomi. I know the good thing about this phone are the included international mobile data bands, but it's one thing for another.

Miui rom might be available but only after Xiaomi/Google release the Kernel source code, and then custom builds like LOS and RR will also pop up
I really don't understand people who keep flooding the forums with miui requests... this phone is designed to run stock android, for people who DONT want miui (like me, who thinks miui is an awful, super bloated system), every other xiaomi phone is miui, why not buy that. it's like buying a google pixel and complaining that there isn't miui for it, boggles my mind every time I see this post, and they are everywhere

Sorry to destroy ur dream but MIUI is simply fugly and messy.
LOL please stop spamming how much you want MIUI.
It's pure nonsense.
source codes are still not available for the phone..... RIP xiaomi and google
I don't get it.. Why MIUI!?!?!?!?!?? This device has stock Android.. If you want MIUI then go buy a device with MIUI. Thank God there are so many other phones with MIUI from Xiaomi... ANY OTHER PHONE FROM THIS MANUFACTURER IS WITH MIUI.. GO BUY IT !!!!!!!!!!!!.. When the kernel source comes out the best thing is AOSPA for this device. Paranoid Android will make this device fly..... So would be Lineage OS. And something else.. You people should consider that Stock is the real Android.. Any other crappy skin is builded because the stock Android.. TouchWiz, HTC sense and any other crap like MIUI is there in this world because of Google Android. Stock. And stop asking for MIUI for this device.. You're behaving like you're 12 years old.. If you want MIUI build it yourself..

Indeed i cannot understand. It's inconsistent, fugly and buggy.
I would give it to you that it has a lot of gimmicks that causes a lot of compatabilities issues and break a lot of things.
Really useful features? Hardly any.

Gcam in official android pie update

How to enable this guys? I am currently on custom rom but I want to move to official rom now. If anyone know how to enable gcam please mention here.
I would also be keen on finding out how to use gcams on official android 9.0 pie for mi A1
You need to find the post in this forum to enable google2api first. Warning it may wipe your device. So have a backup.
Then there are many posts here as well on various versions of gcam that can be installed. Fyi, it's not perfect, especially on pie. But it's fun to play with

Mid-Spring Xiaomi MiA1 Ultimate Upgrade List and Best Third-Party softwares to use?

I'm fairly new to using android and now wanting to delve into messing with my phone per se (In other words, I'm a noob). I haven't done so since I last jailbroke my iPhone before.
I'm really interested to wipe my phone's data and start anew and pimp my phone out, to get the most out of the Xiaomi MiA1 and essentially have the Ultimate MiA1. I've read about GCam and custom ROMs and the sorts, but there's just so much that I can't really pinpoint a path for myself. I'm interested to see what you guys have on your phone and what you can recommend to me? I know the "best" is subjective, but I do want to hear what you guys think is the "best" for you even if it isn't necessarily for everyone, it may definitely be for someone
I'm on Android 8.1.0 (skeptical to upgrade if it means losing flexibility) currently.
Also: I want to keep a backup of my data before wiping it up, what app can you guys recommend to do so?
Choose a pie rom for sure!
I've been using the bootleggers rom and it's great
But it's the only one I've tested
you should know that all Pie roms have problem with Gcam autofocus. It can be fixed with changing aspect ratio to 16:9 but it's hit or miss (for example, doesn't work for me at all).

Wait what? LOS16 autofocus on Gcam works fine in my experience without doing anything. Just make sure you are using gapps since they are required (might work with microg but I haven't tested that)
EDIT: I'm guessing you meant stock Pie. Should probably edit that so that people don't misunderstand like I did.

I haven't tried a lot of roms, but from what I tried until now I think stock 8.1 is the best in terms of stability. (I have tried Lineageos 16 unofficial and Pixel Experience 9.0 official).
if you choose to use stock, I do not recommend to pie as stock pie works horribly for me at least. also stock pie has a lot of bugs like autofocus bug in Gcam and downgrading is not that easy.
I use Stock 8.1 November update and I'm rooted with Magisk and TWRP recovery.
for the Gcam I use the recommended Gcam 5 Arnova's v8.3b1: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/GCam-5.1.018-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.3b1.apk
If you want the night sight feature you need to download Gcam 6.
also in order to use Gcam you need to enable camera2 api.

ANX Camera doesn´t work

Hello,
I´m trying to install the ANX Camera to my Xiaomi Mi 9 phone. But I have the problem, that it crashes, if I start the app.
What I installed with Magisk:
48MPFixQ_181.GlossyIntelligentCock.zip
ANXCameraHotfix.190.BootloopFix.zip
ANXCameraUnity_190.BountifulDistantHapuka.zip
ANXFrameworkUnity_190.BountifulDistantHapuka.zip
Does anybody knows this problem and how to solve this?
Best regards,
Bob
Same issue here!
I'm on Revenge OS 4.0 (Android 11)
What ROM do you have ? As I know, ANXCamera V190 doesn't work in PE but it works with the other ROM !
It doesn't work on Android R.
With Android 10 Roms I use:
ANXCameraUnity_185.SaltyIntelligentPlainsqueaker.z ip
48MPFixQ_160.DisloyalInnocentVelvetworm.zip
If anyone got ANX working on android 11, please let us know how
Anx is still not supported on android 11 yet. Alternative way is to use gcam
Hello,
For me it's working in PE rom
Just forced close the first time, relaunch, ask for permissions and here we go
I flashed ANXCameraUnity_185R.SaltyIntelligentPlainsqueaker.zip
For me doesn't work on most of the A12 custom rom
