Hi all. I hate to start a second post in here so soon, but I am having a issue where my shield usb connection drops every few minutes. I have tried going to power saving and unchecking the allow windows to out to sleep and disabled usb power saving. I still loose the connection, I still see and can access the shield under my computer. Any suggestions ?

Hello everyone,
I wanted to know if there is a way to prevent the phone from getting disconnected when the USB Cable is unplugged. What I mean is that as soon as I unplug my phone, the Internet Sharing thing on the phone gets 'disconnected' in a way that if I have to reconnect, I'll have to hit the 'connect' button on it. I want it to remain connected, so that as soon as I replug the USB, it automatically connects the internet.
Is there a way to do this? Kindly help me. At times my PC gets restarted, I want the phone to remain in the Internet Sharing mode so that as soon as its restarted, it keeps itself connected to the internet.
Well, the issues with this thing are coming in hard and fast now that they've been in use for a couple of months...
2 of my Pro's are having some severe USB connection issues. When connected and ActiveSync on, the USB connection drops out and reconnects every couple of seconds. This goes on until you disconnect the device - causing it to play the USB connection and disconnection sounds constantly.
I think this may be a cable issue, as I tried a non-palm branded USB cable that I got from some chinese guy on ebay and couldnt reproduce the problem on my computer.
Any thoughts? Anyone else had this?

Did you do a hard reset recently. I've had that happen after a hard reset, when the phone was trying to install ActiveSync to the PC & couldn't because there was already an installed version. If that's the case, go to Settings -> System tab -> PC Setup. There are two options: "Setup My PC" & "Synchronize". Make sure it's set to "Synchronize". That should fix it. If not, then I'm not sure what you're experiencing.
i managed to setup usb tethering on my desktop.
but one problem remains.
when first set up it works good.
but then after some inactivity time the connection gets lost.
like typing a long(5-10) minute responce on the forums usuallydoesnt go through... kinda frustrating.
and then after i unplug the phone the internet connection doesnt work anymore.
it shows tethering plugged in on the phone.
the network connection shows up but it says disabled. and when i try to enable it manually it doesnt do anything but slow down my PC.
i unplug and plug it back in many times with no result
the only way to work around it is to restart my PC which is kinda pain in the ass.
bump anyone can help?
would still like some help.
whats the proper way to disconnect the phone from PC while tethering?
im just getting really frustrated because my wifi keeps dropping out. Everytime I connect to my hotspot it drops out after 30 seconds - it will work for those 30 seconds but then i have to reset it....
Ive tried using connectify and mhotspot which they work its just that after 30 seconds of use my tablet says its still connected but a popup will come up on the tablet saying connection timed out or no connection - any ideas?
Also Ad-Hoc is a piece of **** - whenever i try to set up an ad-hoc connection it just doesnt do it. It will say its connected when i set it up with static but it wont do **** and after 10 seconds it disconnects itself.
Thanks,
Collin
Again, Civato.
You'll get better help there, than here, as he runs custom scripts, especially for WiFi.
I had a similar problem which turned out to be due to faulty hardware (the router, in my case). Before doing anything else, you should ensure this isn't the case with your device...
Hi all,
I noticed a weird problem after I installed the latest Marshmallow update on my N910F. The WiFi will not connect as soon as I'm in range anymore, but it will connect immediately when I switch on the display.
I noticed the behavior because I configured a Tasker task that will wake up my PC as soon as I connect to my home WiFi. The last two days I noticed my PC was off when I came home so I switched on my phone and saw that the WiFi was not connected, I was home for 10-15 Minutes. A view seconds later after I switched on the display WiFi started to connect (and my PC also woke up because of my Tasker task).
Once the WiFi connection is established it will stay stable - I checked my router logs, so turning off the display will not disconnect the WiFi. Of course I set my WiFi to stay connected in standby.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
I was having issue not this kind but whenever i diconnect to my wifi and then again teconnect it again it takes time to surfing the internet about 2 minutes.when i open browser and any site it first shows connection time out then i have to wait 1-2 minutes then it loads the site.i dont know i have noticed new settings under development setting there is network setting in there there are lots of option.one option is connect to lollipop dhcp .i tried to check and uncheck that also but didnt work out.

Today it did not switch on my display when I came home but waited to see how long it would take my Note 4 to connect to my WiFi. After 25 Minutes it connected. I wonder if this is some "doze" feature.
