Hi, on my Pixel 2 XL I managed to add to Google Pay both my credit card (Visa) and my debit cart (MAESTRO).
Please note that a debit card has a longer number and no CVC.
From Google Pay itself I could add only the credit card but from my bank app I could add both: it's like if it has created a virtual credit card for my debit card.
All is working.
Yesterday I bought a Fossil Gen 5, just to find out I had to add the cards on the watch as well. Problem is that when I click "add card" on the watch it fires up Google Pay on the phone where I can select only the credit card, no way to select the debit.
Yeah, typical symptom of the European banking system and it's enormous speed in adapting new technologies. What I did to be finally able to pay via Google Pay on my smartwatch was to get a free Klarna Card. It's connected to your regular banking account and all payments are deducted after 2-3 days from there. Only issue is, you wont be able to identify the store name on you bank statements.

So it looks like there's an update to the Google Wallet app that addresses the security hole found when you clear data. If you clear the app's data and set it up from scratch, it now makes you log in to your Google account before it will activate and allow you to provision cards. This seems to be a good solution to me.
The problem is, they still haven't enabled provisioning of new prepaid cards on the back end yet. Hopefully in the next day or two they will...so...if you flashed a different ROM and now can't access the money on your prepaid card, here's hoping we won't have to wait much longer!
I hope soon, I miss shocking the cashiers.
I have a Visa with Wells Fargo so no chance of adding a MasterCard
So in a week or so my tablet will arrive in The Netherlands and I want to make sure I will receive my $25 credit and the free content. So I already have my Google Wallet linked to my credit card and my billing & shipping address are set to USA by default.
Do you think I will still need to connect to VPN first to a server in USA before signing in to my Google account?
Edit: Nevermind, I found the guide for getting the $25!

In case it helps, I know someone in the UK got the free credit without having to take all those steps, just by ensuring registration, doing a test purchase eg of a free ebook to make sure their credit card details were recognised (apparently the system is very fussy if the details registered are even slightly different from what's on the credit card), and making sure they did all that BEFORE putting their Google Account details in the new Nexus 7.

Strange. I've used the same credit card for months, purchasing several apps and games. Still, I didn't get the $25 credit. I'm going to try the VPN method.
I can't make a account because I don't have a credit card
I wanted to make an account to buy apps, is there around not needing a credit card? I was gonna use Moneypak greendot cards to put money into it.
EDIT: I got an account set up without a credit card, how can I add funds?
Hey, I had a couple questions for those of you that use Google wallet, specifically tap and play. I'm planning on using it, and I verified my identity and all. The first one is how does it show on your credit card? Does it show the transaction of the store like "Starbucks," or does it show "Google Wallet?"
Second question is; do I NEED to use my credit card or can I just use my Wallet Balance, like could I add some Google Play credits on there and use them in store. If that's an option, would it be Credit or Debit when I select payment method in store?

1.The first one is how does it show on your credit card? Does it show the transaction of the store like "Starbucks," or does it show "Google Wallet:
Depending on your banking institute, it will show up as "GoogleNFC" with what store you were at when it was used, for example "GOOGNFC*STORENAME"
2.do I NEED to use my credit card or can I just use my Wallet Balance:
No you don't necessarily NEED to use a credit card, it would be processed like credit so you would select the credit option on the pad not debt.
Hello - I'm working with google on this but they haven't been able to figure it out. Maybe someone here can. Unrooted 6P, but I don't think the phone is the issue.
I tried adding a card (MasterCard)to android pay, but my bank wouldn't allow it because of a security hold. Now, when I try to add a new credit or debit card, the MasterCard shows in the add card menu under the heading "You added this one to your Google Account already, so you'll just need to confirm some details." This card does NOT show on the google payments page. The google tech doesn't see it on his end. He does see pre-auths from me trying to add it. He wants me to master reset the phone, but when I load AndroidPay on another device - it shows the same thing for the MasterCard. I've cleared all data for the app on the 6P, but since it's showing in AndroidPay on my other device, I'm thinking it must be floating in google's servers.
