I have been using vysor since i had my Samsung galaxy S4A and it has been working flawlessly which is why i bought it. Ever since I changed phones from s7 to s10+ I've noticed that after a bout 3-5 minutes of playing I get a blue lock on the screen and it makes me pull to the side to unlock it. What i don't understand is why this started happening when i have had two phones (S4A and S7A) both worked perfectly without getting this annoying blue lock screen and now i cant even play/macro a game without the screen locking. Anyone else use this software getting the same thing? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can you just right click with your PC mouse and sweep upward on the mirrored phone to unlock it?
I just found this thread long after I got Vysor (and scrcpy) to work (almost) flawlessly on Android 11 (with USB setting up the initial adb connection and then switching to Wi-Fi thereafter)....
In early May I updated from Android 11 to Android 12 and I found out that Android 12 has a fantastic new Developer option "Wireless debugging" feature where you can set up the adb connection to the PC completely over Wi-Fi (no need for the initial USB connection!).
I just wanted people to know new information related to using Vysor completely over Wi-Fi (no USB connection is ever needed again!).
This always on Wi-Fi Vysor capability is new in Android 12 because Android 12 has a new Developer option for "Wireless debugging".
However, Android 12 also has a new Developer option for "Enhanced MAC Randomization" which randomizes the MAC address on every Wi-Fi connection, so with that added desired Wi-Fi simplicity in Android 12 comes also the added desired privacy of MAC randomization on every connection (the difference being Android 11 only randomized the MAC per SSID, as far as I understand it).
All this new Android 12 functionality has implications for your Vysor (and scrcpy) setup, based on my tests over the past couple of months.
Of course, if your router is using the MAC address to hand out the IP address you might need address reservation since the router can no longer expect a consistent MAC address if you set that new Android 12 Developer option but you can set the Android phone to request a "Static" IP address (if you want the adb connect commands to be consistent in the IP address in day to day usage).
I have found that rebooting the PC causes me to need to reconnect via an adb command on the PC before Vysor will work, and, for unknown reasons yet, often the Android 12 "Wireless debugging" switch gets turned off (mysteriously) - which affects the Vysor (and scrcpy) connections from one day to another.
It's no big deal once you figure out the commands and switches though, where the screenshots below show the settings I currently have on my unrooted Android 12 Samsung Galaxy A32-5G phone from T-Mobile (many of which are for privacy and functionality reasons).

Just bought a HD2. Nice piece. But however 2 things bother me.
The windows market place is just a joke compared to iPhone. Is there any other place where we can source application. Surely there must be more than just those 150 apps ?
Second, I must with humility confess that I have not been able to connect my HD2 to my Wifi at home. He does offer the Wifi. I enter the key but it won't connect. I'm assuming it might be because the IP adress hte phone is using but I have not been able to change.
And on top my wife is having fun because with her IPhone she was able to connect very smoothly.
Can the more experienced elder of this forum guide the new comer that I am. Have to admit that the user manual is a bit short on the technical side.
Thanks...
you dont have to use the marketplace, googling will bring up thousands of apps and games
i agree its a little annoying about the windows marketplace but iphone is a money making tool for apple via itunes! 80% of there apps are total bollox and have been created to make a quick buck for some 14 year old wannabe designer!
Just search via the web and you'll get the apps you want
regarding you wifi it does sound very strange as my phone connects instantly to my router and took me 10 seconds to set up. Please dont be put off by the HTC as i assure you the connection issue will be a simple get around.
Try restarting your router if that fails then go into your router settings and change channel on the wifi signal or just basically have a play around!
WiFi security
Hello,
just an idea:
what security connection have you got on your WiFi router? Mine was WPA2 and it didn't work, changed it to WPA-PSK, TKIP and it works...
I hope I helped!
Michele
whensetting up wifi (this applies to wep encryption, if you are using wpa then ignore this) it is important to know that your routers authentication can be set to "open" key, "open or shared" key, or "shared" key.thing is your phone can only be "open" or "shared" key. in theory if your router is in "open or shared" the phone should be able to be set to "open" or "shared" but in practice I have never seen a winmo connect correctly inn this circumstance.
go start settings menu all settings connections wifi networks and double c check the encryption settings properly match your router settings.
(open key doesn't mean no encryption)
Hi folks,
I have two Nexus players at home. When I first got the initial one, I had it setup on my 2.4G network (network connectivity was very strong so it did not matter). Recently, I upgraded my router that supports 802.11AC (2400mbps). Since the router was further out and since AC provides a better streaming experience, I added the 5G network as well. It turned out that it was still connecting to my 2.4G network (based purely on signal strength, I assume, which is absurd). So I had it "forget" the 2.4G connection. The next day, I had my replacement for the Nexus player (had a issue with the remote but they sent me the whole thing anyway) and bought a second Nexus player. I logged in with the same account that I had used and surprisingly both of them were logging onto my 2.4G network without even asking. It left me puzzled. I tried "forgetting" the network and it did not work. I tried intentionally giving a "bad" password and that did not work either (i.e. the second option at least kind of worked for one full day where it did not connect to the 2.4G connection). I have since done a factory reset with two options. A) re-login with the same account and B) login with a different account. Not too surprisingly, option (A) allows me to "connect" to the 2.4G connection whereas (B) does not.
I have since tried to figure out where this password is saved and I cannot seem to find it. The only logical way for me to NOT connect is to turn off the 2.4G connection (which is not possible because some of my devices still do not support 5G) or rename the connection (logistical issue but can be done). My concern is "WHERE IS MY PASSWORD SAVED AND WHY AM I NOT ABLE TO DELETE IT AS I WOULD ON ANOTHER DEVICE"
I called Nexus support (they are practically useless unless you are requesting a replacement) and I got the following (no I am not kidding, these were literally the things that they told me):
1. "The Nexus player has no GUI". I refuted this claim and explained that the device was fully self-sustained in that it did not require a phone to be its alibi and that a network can be "forgotten"
2. "The Nexus player has no firmware". I again respectfully refuted this claim as well but it was getting a little hilarious because I really thought she said "no GUI" to imply something else. To this, the rep said (and in a very authoritative tone), GIVE ME THE ADDRESS OF THE FIRMWARE. I explained that all firmware does not have to have an IP address (I work at a company that makes hardware and specifically work on the DSP which has no direct access or IP address except via a host processor). I then asked "Can you do a software update on the device" and she responded "I don't know" and then went on to say the following
3. "THE NEXUS PLAYER HAS NO OS!". SHE LITERALLY SAID THAT.
At no point in time was she did even accept that the password was saved "somewhere" in the cloud and was attached to my google account that I had no access to which I believe is very creepy (because now I do not know what other information is "stored"). Then she said "let me send you to speak to the manufacturer because we have nothing to do with this device" or something to that effect!
I am curious if anyone of you can try this out and tell me if the player continues to connect to a network that you ask to be forgotten. I am curious also what you think about the issue.
Saving WiFi passwords to your Google account is a standard feature of Google's Backup & Restore, if you have this enabled. The option to disable this doesn't seem to be exposed by the Android TV UI, though.
And that support conversation was hilarious

That is precisely my point as well. When information that pertains to me is stored, I need to have the option (within reason) of being able to delete it. When such an option is being provided on their Android devices, they only have 2 options on the Nexus player. Save it on the device and a factory reset removes it OR allow the option to delete such info. Not doing either seems like a violation IMO.
I've been looking for a way to solve this exact problem.
I have a 5ghz SSID and a 2.4ghz SSID and I want my nexus player to ALWAYS use the 5ghz, but because I have the same Google account synced to all my Android devices I can never "forget" the 2.4ghz SSID on my nexus player, it always gets restored. To make matters worse, the nexus player prefers the 2.4ghz connection because the signal tends to be stronger.
The only solution I've seen is to dump and disable android backup on every android device I own (2x Nexus Player, 2x Tablets, 3 Phones) to prevent it from syncing both network connections, but it doesn't appear to be possible to JUST remove wifi networks from being synced.
Intersting to read that. Do you at least have a reliable connection when using the 5GHz? (meaning a stable connection over a full week, without connection drops?)
By the way: If *anybody* could shed some light on whether the Marshmallow preview finally enables us to use DFS channels on the Nexus Player, then this would be great. I cannot really flash the preview as it would wipe the player and I'd need hours to set up all my apps again from scratch... and since I know that some people have been testing this, I prefer to ask. Apparently got new neighbors last week who are now polluting the lower 5GHz band which used to be perfectly free... so I wanna switch to the DFS channel frequencies, however the Nexus Player can only connect to the lowest four 5GHz currently, which are the non-DFS ones (all my laptops and even a friend's Samsung tablet from 2013 support the 5GHz DFS channels though)
The Marshmallow changelog contains the following commit: https://android.googlesource.com/platform/frameworks/opt/net/wifi/+/dfc7d48
Has anyone been able to check if this has any effect on the Nexus Player with the latest firmware?
Edit: besides this there's also: https://android.googlesource.com/platform/frameworks/opt/net/wifi/+/6f59b02
For the two people caring: The Nexus Player supports DFS channels and can successfully connect to those after the Marshmallow update.
Mine got the update without me noticing it at all and when I realized it had received the update, I wanted to check the wi-fi and saw it was already connected to my 5GHz wi-fi (which is on one of the upper DFS channels).
Hey folks,
Anyone tried using Vysor with the S7 Edge and got it to work successfully here?
I can't seem to get it to work. I have USB debugging mode on and tried both MTP and PTP but I keep getting the error:
'An error occurred while connecting to the Android device. Restarting the Vysor app, or disconnecting and reconnecting the Android may resolve this issue.'
I've had this working on my Moto X and N5 before.
Or does anyone know of a good alternative app? I was trying out Teamviewer Quicksupport but it looks like it keeps the phones display on all the time.
Thanks.
Had to restart my computer after installing the Samsung drivers! All good.
Had it working on Note II before. When I have connected S7 edge it just continued to work on the same computer.
For those who are struggling:
This error usually happens if something else is using adb.exe
Probably your phone sync software or any other software that can communicate via adb. Close the application (not only with exit, use task manager and force close) and it will be ok.

For a month I was also getting adb connection issues until I figured out what the problem was, and it turned out it's due to adb being sensitive to the changes that happen on the phone in Android 11 and Android 12.

tl;dr: When my phone (Sony Xperia Z5 compact, Android 6) connects to a wifi with no internet, I want to use the local network on the wifi but use the internet from my mobile data. Instead what happens mobile data doesn't switch back on while connected to wifi with no internet.
I have been trying to find a solution for this since forever. My camera creates a local wifi connection which I can connect to to view the camera as well as controlling it. The downside is that while connected to this network my cellular data gets switched off, despite this wifi network not having any internet. So while using my camera I have no way to access the internet. It wasn't a huge problem up until recently when the app I use is introducing livestreaming. I really want to use it but I am unable to find any way how to keep my phone connected to this wifi network (and being able to use it), while any internet data goes over 4G. I am using android 6.0.1. I am quite sure I was able to do this on my previous phone with an older Android version but I cannot find said option (smart network switch or something?) anymore in the wifi settings. Nor any recent similar topics with people with the same question? Anyone that knows more about this?
My phone is rooted. If I need to do any system changes I can do that.
I didnt get what you were trying saying.Do you know that you cant use mobile data and wifi simultaneously unless your device is rooted. If your phone is rooted then try using "download booster"

Err, sorry, lol. I have wifi network that has no internet, just a local network. I'd like to be connected to that wifi network AND be able to use internet over my mobile data both at the same time. As it is right now, my mobile data gets disabled even when the wifi network has no internet access.
I have talked to two friends of mine about it and both say this is already possible in Android. One friend sent me a screenshot of an option he has in his wifi settings called 'Switch to mobile data' which gets enabled when the wifi network has no internet. My other friend said he doesn't have this option but claims it has been a default feature of Android since lollipop. He tested it on his phone and indeed it works as expected. Both have an unrooted phone with stock Android. So now there is me with my brand new phone and Android 6 and I can't find this option nor does it seem to do what I want by default. I'm confused.
As I mentioned, my phone is rooted so if there is a way to turn this feature on using root, I can totally do that if someone knows how.
As i said try using "Download Booster" It allows you to use wifi and mobile data at the same time just google it.

That appears to be just a download manager if I am correct? I don't need to download anything. I just want to be able to use my existing apps to use my mobile internet when I am connected to wifi (that has no internet).
This is the exactly the thing I'm after. Screenshot from my friend's phone (LG G4 with Android 6.0): (*link removed). My other friend who also has this functionality working has a Nexus 5 with Android 6.0.1.
* Forum doesn't let me post screenshots.. But basically in his wifi settings he has an option called "Switch to mobile data". The box says "Internet unavailable via connected Wi-Fi. Stay connected to Wi-Fi, but use mobile data. Data charges may apply."
Again, I have Sony Xperia Z5 compact with Android 6.0.1 and I can't find this. Have I bought the wrong phone or is it fixable? At this point I am more than happy to even take a custom rom route.
You cannot use wifi and internet at the same time as they are completely different hardware components, using different air waves, so there's no conflicts between them. Better use internet through your wifi or use bluetooth tethering. As for the "switch to mobile data option" it disconnectes you from your wifi if it has no internet and connects you to your mobile data so it doesnt lets you use your wifi and mobile data at the same time

It actually clearly mentions that it keeps connected to the wifi. He tested it and indeed he could use the local network on the wifi side and use the internet through his mobile data simultaneously. Both friends haven't rooted their phones or anything. This is just a default functionality for them. I have now tested it also on my older phones (Oneplus One and HTC One M8) and all phones can't have both connections open at the same time.
This wifi network is created by my camera by the way and I can't change much about it. The DJI drone I control does the same thing. When I am connected to the camera or drone I lose my mobile internet connection.
I don't have any other device that has access to internet here. We don't have cabled internet, only mobile internet.
Interestingly, in the developers options there is an option called "Mobile data always active" ("Always keep mobile data active, even when Wi-Fi is active"). I've tried it many times, rebooted my phone but this doesn't actually do anything. Even with this option on when wifi is connected the mobile data gets turned off.
This is beyond annoying!
I too have struggled to find a solution to this problem. I do not have a WAN connection to my home network. It is LAN only. I have four PC's, three Sonos speakers, two hdhomerun TV tuners, and various hand held devices that all use the LAN. All I want to do is be able to use my Moto X Pure to control Sonos and file sync to my LAN via wifi and simultaneously use mobile data for WAN stuff. I know the mobile connection is active with wifi enabled because I can see it when running if config, up route show etc... I am trying to learn about the routing tables to see if I can fix this myself. I love my android devices and am loyal, but this is beyond dumb! Any suggestions????
How to fix for android
okay so for anyone who doesnt know still go into the about phone option in your phone settings, then click on kernel version, build model, etc til one pops up with a flash notification saying click so many more times and youll become a dev. once you done that go into the developer menu and scroll too wifi assist or force mobile data upon wifi connection. exit out , open your app , bobs your uncle
Thank you for the answer.
I tried with my Huawei but it doesn't work. Could you tell with which phone you made it work ? Thank you !!
Ok here we go, after 12 years this my first post.
Above suggestions related with developer options nothing to do with OPs requirement. Those option only allows the device rapidly switch to mobile data when the WiFi signal gets weak. Since you always close to your DSLR camera it solves nothing because WiFi signal is always strong.
Root cause of the problem is you can not have 2 default gateways (i.e. router address) for your networks in any operating system (Actually you can but you have to set static routes, which is a pain in the ass for regular users)
iOS handles this in a very simple way. Set your wifi connection to static IP address instead of DHCP and leave your default gateway or router address blank. Viola you can have 3G/LTE data while you connected your camera and now you can sent your downloaded pictures via Whatapp while you still connected to your camera via WiFi. (In my case Panasonic Lumix)
I stumbled upon this thread via Google since I needed the same thing now with Android. But iOS way failed. Actually I am shocked that you cannot leave WiFi Gateway address blank in Androdid 8.0! Save button grays out if you leave it blank. This is really weird. At least with Galaxy S8 Duos with Android 8.0
So anybody know how to setup a WiFi network without a default gateway, please share.
Is this phone specific or something? Never had that happen, I have no problem with wifi being on without internet and using cell data.
I don't think the UI really exposes anything like it directly but you can technically have multiple gateways; it's not something your average user will understand (policy routing)..
Having said that, if you're attached to an AP you should at least see a /24 route out your wireless interface (standard dhcp lease). It's quite common for the AP to have client isolation but are you sure you're not using something like Wifi Direct or even adhoc?
Similar Experience
I have been through this experience long ago. All I did was to sell the phone and bought a new one.
This has actually been bugging me for years but now I finally open this question to forums: So I have at my home several wifi-devices. And my wifi comes from my phone that creates the hotspot. Apps for controlling these wifi-devices always require wifi-connection to the same wifi-network they are themselves. So i need to have a second phone to control them because my "main phone" cannot be both hotspot provider and connect to the same hotspot itself. Is there any workaround to this ? Using android 10 with Zenfone 7. I would love to get rid of that 2-phone system at home. And i' not looking for solutions that require more devices
