official samsung update on rooted s10+ - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

hello guys sorry for my english....i get a notification for software update on my s10 plus,i'm rooted and i have twrp recovery should i update,or i xill loose my root and twrp recovery too ,how can i update with out loosing the root ??,thanks again

Hi !
Same question here but I don't have twrp installed ?
A way to install update via Odin ?
Thx

I no longer root, but I thought it used to be that a phone with twrp wouldn't get the OTA but one with Odin would. You would still lose root with Odin though. Again, I could be wrong.

[Q] Would updating to most recent version work like this?

A week ago, my OTA update failed. Have Towelroot and supersu. No other modifications. Failure message said I should use Kies since my phone is modified in an unauthorized way. In order to update and either retain Towelroot through it, OR unroot through supersu, update either OTA or with Kies and then reroot with Towelroot, would the following work:
I have a SM-G900F.
1) I unroot with supersu. I remove Titanium and supersu.
2) I try to update with either an OTA approach or Kies.
3) If update is successful, I reroot with Towelroot and reinstall supersu and Titanium.
Would this work? Would removing root with supersu make me be able to do an OTA update or is Kies inevitable? And after a possible successful update, will Towelrooting still work, or does the most recent Android update (I currently am still 4.2.2) render Towelroot unusable after updating.
Any help much appreciated.

Dude forget about OTA`s when you are rooted, install Mobile Odin Pro and just flash the new rom with MOP and you`ll keep root. Don`t use a wipe or it will fail.

Sorry, but that's just waay too advanced for me. I don't know what flashing a rom means, I just want the most recent update that came out (at least for Europe) a week ago and be able to have root, that's it. Does unrooting, updating to new version with Kies, then rerooting with Towelroot work? Please can somebody just tell me if that can do it or how to do it? I know I'm a noob, sorry, just need real advice.
please.....somebody put me out of my misery. help?

Just download the stock firmware and flash with Kies or Odin. It's not too complex.
To obtain the latest firmware for your device, open Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > 'Firmware Browser' menu.
my samsung galaxy s5 , is rooted but I would like to upgrade, I can't do the OTA upgrade so I should proceed with Kies , I would like to know whether I have to unroot my phone(how do I do that? via kies?)or just directly proceed with the upgrade, furthermore, my phone was a sumsung galaxy s5 tmobile but I managed to unlock it in order to use it with other carriers, if I install the original firmware and then upgrade to the newest version, can I still use it with other carriers or will return locked? thank you

is there a risk of bricking phone (odin) ? (Samsung Galaxy s3 neo GT-I9301I) - root

Hi guys, i was thinking of rooting my phone with odin but i'm afraid i might brick it ( CF-Auto-Root )
so.. is there any one who used odin and it worked with him without bricking his phone ?
oh and i forgot to mention that i have android 4.4.2 kitkat
because when i use the normal way to download supersu and install it i get
-----
"There is no binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
"if you just upgraded to android 4.3, you need manually re-root consult the relevant forums for you device!"
edit:
i rooted my device with odin and there was no problem

Download SuperSU via this link: http://download.chainfire.eu/641/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip and flash it with your custom recovery.

OTA through custom recovery?

Can we get OTA updates through custom recovery in such a method?
Get OTA files from an unrooted S5 when it's ready to OTA and flash it to a rooted S5 through the custom recovery?
Is there a way to get the OTA files?
I have a rooted S5 and I just used Kies and it installed the update with no data loss for me ******still back it up***** Then I just reinstalled a custom recovery and SuperSU binaries to root.
I think you cant since stock rom OTA needs a stock recovery
Not only a stock recovery but also unrooting the phone.
Samsung OTA must do a rom check is quite annoying, while Huawei's OTA does not check whether you rom is modified but the files to be updated.

ROOT question!!

Ok say i have kitkat 4.4.4 and cannot update to lolipop via System Update because my root was messed up due to earlier update. I want to know if i can update to lolipop using Odin and obtain a root for it. i am on stock kernel now with root and i was wondering if it will work before i flash back to 4.4.
If you use odin to flash you will loose root and any custom recovery you have installed so you will have to reroot etc after upgrade.

Unrecognized system...unable to update

Phone is a SM-N910R4 US Cellular. Was rooted by Odin then unrooted by King root. Now unable to root using Odin and current non root is unrecognized and unable to update system. Any ideas on how I can either get system updated and/or rooted again ? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thx in advance !
try with Smart switch,it will recognized your phone ,and tell you if you have or not have update for your phone.
I also have problem with root and dm-verify verification failed in recovery ,so I couldn't update my phone OTA ,but I was having update OTA,I was downloading and trying to install it and every time its failed until I didn't install SMART SWITCH,and easily update phone to latest firmware.
which method of rooting your phone you trying to root?
I was having problem with magisk, and every time I failed to root,so I use superSu , superSu cf auto root.
for rooting phone:
I was first install through Odin TWRP for my model
then download superSu-v2.82-201705271822.zip
put that file on my SD card and download to TWRP recovery
then flash that file through install in recovery
and you have rooted phone.
works for me so perfectly that i dont have one problem with rooting.
the second way:
its also through Odin
download Cf-auto root and flash it through Odin
than you can easily download from play store Official TWRP app and install recovery.
for me,this is the best and easy way of rooting phones.
