Hi,
For the last couple of days, I am feeling like my mobile has become very slow or lagging. It appears that ram management is bad, sometimes can't run even few common application in the background. Navigation appears very slow.
I am using 4GB version, latest os with may security update. Mobile is not rooted .
I tried clearing cache partition and tried clearing cache of most application. But nothing improved .
Please help me guys!
Is badly placed screen guard affects performance? I have air bubbles Along the side.
Umm.. screen protectors don't affect the phone's performance in any way. But it is possible that you might get touch related issues with a badly placed one which is very rare.
Does your internal storage have enough space left?
Have you installed a lot of apps?
Check if any app is constantly running in the background.

In internal I have nearly 15GB left.
No. I didn't install that many app. Always have more than 1 GB RAM left. There maybe many apps syncing in the background though.

Factory reset once it'll solve your problem.
Facing the same problem with my device by factory reset solve problem for a few weeks then again it starts lagging ,again after reset and it will work for few weeks dats it ,feels like it stuck in loop

Hello,
Being used HD for one week, I found one problem about memory consumption (not a problem actually ).
At startup, about 120M free memory, after using for one day (Opera, view picture, games, stock manager, etc), only about 80M RAM left.
I have tried to use
- oxios memory
- MemMaid 2.0
but it can only free 1-2M RAM, where is my RAM
Yes, I found out the same problem! Try to do a reset and the memory is cleaned again. I use the X button to kill all programs after using them, but it seems to be fludding on a regular basis, also activesync program keep popping up when I'm not connected, and the memory usage slowely gets higher every hour with a few procent.
Does anyone else has the same prob? Didn't use special appz yet, because it doesn't seem to disturb working with device.

Until the phone starts having problems, why worry? With every new device there are threads like this with people obsessing over the amount of free RAM their devices show, but honestly you can just leave Windows Mobile to deal with the RAM itself and you'll never have a problem. There's no need to try and recover all the RAM that you think should be free. The OS will take care of it.
I have the same problem. My guess is it a memory leak in some apps. ITs no big deal, because there is lots of free memory and if it really bugs me, I can do a soft reset every now and then.
Yes, it is not a problem to me until now as there are plenty of RAM available!
I just curious about the kinds of program that consume the memory??
From my observation, WM OS is not doing the job of memory management well.

Clearing your browser cache will retrieve some of it
(unless you have it to cache to the storage card)
I don't bother too much with this as it does not seem to become a problem.
But, I don't "load and leave" applications. I also generally do a soft reset once a week.
However, in SK Tools there is a "FreeUP RAM" application as part of the suite. I just ran it and it recovered 2 mbytes (a bit less than 1 %)
@ Swantony001 :
Hi, there is a thead about stopping Active-Sync activating itself all the time.
Works perfectly for me.

Greetings,
go42
the memory leak does cause problems for me, well with tomtom7 it does. sometimes i get the message "not enough memory" unpon booting TT and am forced to do a soft reset.
its not often, but the fact it happens piddles me off!
Hi, guys!
I've noticed the same thing! Something consumes active memory!!!
I watched some processes... So "cprog.exe" and "device.exe" eat memory from time to time.
I use Soft Reset once a day or in two days.
If anyone gets a new WWE ROM with that bug being fixed, please, let me know .
Memory consumption is not a big problem now, but it's a bit annoying...

Damn never experienced this problem before *touches wood*
Yeah i have experience the memory leaking up starting from 38% to 44% in a matter of hours.
No biggie, but if it comes down to problems like jonajuna experienced then, yes that is a problem.
My Arc keeps crashing asking me to force close apps and the homescreen it lags like hell and it is getting worst all the time so bad that even opening my texts takes a couple more than 10 seconds... (I do have around 2000 texts though)
Unlocking the screen is laggy scrolling on threw the 5 homescreens is laggy...
Sync turned off.
No timespace widget.
Even after removing all widgets to test it it was laggy
I used advanced task killer to kill all the apps to try the quadrant test
and I only got 850-950 MAX!!
Compared to youtube videos that seem to get almost double scores why is my
Arc is slow is it faulty?
Is it because I only have 40mb of phone memory and about 500mb sd card memory left?
Will I just have to flash my phone and does that mean I will need to flash every 2 weeks???
I think you have installed some applications which caysing this problem I had this problem, then i flashed my phone again & installed apps again (didn't restore).. But i didn't installed all apps at once, i spent time & installed 2, 3 apps everyday to check if the app would make phone laggy or slow. Since then my phone is working awesome, my 16GB memory card is almost full, 400 MB internal memory is full (After root i have removed many useless system apps)... I have more than 4000 sms & there is no lag or slowness Quadrant score is 1650
the only time i experienced lag was with adw launcher and no fc's yet, other than that the phone has been fast - then again i don't have as many apps or data on my phone as you. one thing i did notice is that my lcd's touch sensitivity seems to be lower than other arc's, maybe a defect, but it's pretty maddening in addition to all the reboots i've been having. i've been reading about others that have issues with the battery staying in place and like me, the random reboots, this is my first android phone, so not sure if these things are normal or if it just the arc.
It's definitely apps.
Mine is superfast...
Apps and possibly task killing the wrong things.. you need to make sure that if you're going to use a task killer, you really shouldn't us it on Auto.. and you should make sure to IGNORE anything that is a system task, or anything which persistently restarts.. killing those only wastes battery.
Android isnt exactly the most stable os out their but if you know about the os and know its ins and outs it can not only be the fastest but the best os out there.
My recommendation is look up articles about using and optimizing the os, trust me it will do you a ton of good.
Hi,
It seams that sometimes Android must be reflashed on a Device, especially on Tmobile Devices it will fix most of the problems.
Another tip: Uninstall the update of gmaps and reinstall it, on my device it blocks login to gmail and gtalk from one day to another! -.-
Greetings
Alef
Nope the ARC does not Lag very often and i think its ur device's memory thats giving you the trouble along with that huge pile of messages .... or the Corrupt software that might have crept in ...
My advice would be to flash ur ARC ASAP and limit that 2000+ messages and u will see a difference. Avoid putting too many apps as well.
Arc is a Size Zero Lady ... Don't burden it with Heavy Foodstufff ...
Might create Digestion problems. Keep it Light and it'll stay FIT.

What do you mean "isn't the most stable"? I've been able to keep my phone on for weeks without a reboot. Seems stable enough to me.
Ok turns out I had 110 apps I deleted al the heavy ones and am down to 60 now!! My phone now got 1200 on quadrant. I dont kill any system ups or have an auto task killer set up I just kill uneeded apps before I run benchmarks?
Plus I noticed I have some orange apps that keep coming up even though I never used them... I might have to debrand and try again but my phobe is much much more stable now thanks!!
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
chances are it wasn't the number of apps you had which was causing the problem, but that one of them (or possible several of them!) which you deleted were badly written and hogging the processor when they should have been sitting quietly in the background..
Orange is well known for screwing devices with bloatware also.
Wow!!
That's a lot of apps you've installed and most likely loads of them are badly written like iceman said; I installed a file browser on mine not long after getting the phone which would pause the whole system for up to a minute, plus battery was highly drained.
I guess this is result of massively varied hardware for one mobile OS. (Plus bad programming)
I have a SM N900 Exynos running android 4.4.2 factory non rooted device.
I have bought it from an authorised samsung dealer not even 3 months ago.
I have noticed the phone freezing under load, like i had 4 downloads open on UC browser each of 200mb and was listening to songs via earphones on the native music player also had musixmatch open. At this stage my phone became very hard to control kept on lagging to a great extent till the point i pulled down the notification bar and system ui stopped responding and screen went off and only the capacitive keys were lighting upon touch, no haptic feedback. I had to restart my phone.
I have noticed this a lot whenever i have a lot of things going on, well this is an octacore device with 3gb ram. This shouldnt happen ever. It should be responsive all the time.
Also if i open a few number of apps and press the home button to go back to the main screen, the phone starts lagging. Shouldnt the memory management be good like the phone closes the unused applications by itself whenever ram is low instead of me going to recent apps and clearing some of them to regain performance.
Anyways i have some 128 apps in appdrawer including the system apps if thats any help.
Thanks in advance any help would be greatly appreciated.

The device comes with 3GB of RAM not all available to the user. First of all you have an Exynos device so you have 2.7gb RAM. I believe that they opted for a bigger RAM choice for the system to handle itself excluding user input.
So essentially you have half of the RAM to use for your other applications (1.35gb).
Anyways, have you tried clearing tasks in Task Manager? Stopped junk apps from wasting start up memory? If you have, then you really should reflash stock or Factory wipe, in order to see which apps you reinstall to prevent unnecessary slowdowns.
Are you using power saving mode while multitasking?? if yes then turn it off and try again, another tip is that phone are like mini laptops without fans they need to rest from time to time, so try to restart the phone or shut it off for few min, then test again, good luck.

Yeah you should check for this too ^^ (sorry not trying to tell the quoter but I have more to say)
I have over 650 applications installed (including system) and have no problem with lag, I even have Hyper fluency enabled on my launcher which makes it use double the amount of recommended RAM to make it look and feel better. No lag.

My phone runs good without lag, but after opening a good number of apps it slows down. Then i have to manually open multitasking(holding the home button) and swipe away a few apps. Shouldnt the phone automatically exit some apps when running low on ram?
Well as far as i know no one exits apps after using them, after they are done using a app nearly everyone uses the home button instead of exiting the app.
And no, no powersaving mode is enabled.

Just last month, a friend of mine had a problem similar to this: the phone responds to button press but there is specific period of time that the screen won’t respond. We ended up replacing the digitizer. It is a piece of glass on top of the display panel that conducts touch commands. Digitizers come with their respective circuits that when messed up, some, if not all, screen functions won’t work. But it seems that your problem is not the digitizer, so try booting to Safe Mode and observe the phone’s performance while in there.
If the screen still freezes randomly, some of the core functions may be causing the problem and there’s no other option but to perform factory reset but first, back up all your data.

Since i bought the phone in around 4 months the phone has frozen under extreme load only twice. Would you still recommend a a factory reset?
I observed that if a lot of apps are running in the background and phone starts lagging, I just swipe away a few apps from the multitasking area and everything works fine thereafter.

I am on a standard unmodified shield 500GB. Its actually a replacement from Nvidia as my old one kept locking up and crashing. I have noticed since getting this one yesterday that youtube keeps freezing at the beginning of videos and force closes more often than works. Is anyone else having this problem?
How much space do you have remaining on your device ? I've had similiar issues with many apps when running low on storage space.
Freeing up space solved my issues.

I got it sorted out. Spoke to tech support and they turned out to be very helpful. Cleared the YouTube cache and data from settings and restarted and the app seems to now be working without issue. I'd already done this myself but I didn't restart the device after clearing data and cache. All working fast again now.
Hello guys,
i created this first thread on this forum because my Moto G4 Plus doesn't work like it should.
I have display burnings (and i think it's getting worse).
I don't have a rooted device and i can't use a trick which requires root because i've banking apps which requires an unrooted phone.
Additionally the phone is getting slower and slower. When i click something sometimes i have to wait 2-3 seconds until it shows the expected result.
Chrome is slow. Google photos is slow. I think every app is slow except of one or two.
I can't remember that it was like this at the beginning.
Does anyone can help me?
Thanks,
Daniel
If you're getting display burn in, you could try the S-filter app as mentioned in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g6/how-to/guide-how-to-fix-screen-burn-image-t3820594 credit to the MotoG sub Reddit page https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoG/comments/91hjne/how_to_fix_image_persistence_on_all_motorola/
I'm currently testing out a similar app - iBlue from the Play Store and it seems to be limiting the display burn in (I have a LG LCD panel on my G4 Plus). I'm not rooted (and in fact have re-locked my device's bootloader).
As for the slowdowns, is this persisting across networks (i.e. do you see the same behaviour on Wi-Fi and on 3G/4G LTE)? Have you tried to wipe cache or consider wiping data and starting over with a clean device? How much free space is left on your device's internal storage?
I'm using Twilight at the evening for a blue filter. Is it a similar app and should i only use one app?
My free space is low. I think the smartphone is slower if the battery is empty. I didn't recognize any difference between wifi and 4g/3g.
I will try a cache clear.

If Twilight works for you, you may as well stay with it. I did notice slight lag when the filter was on, though the trade-off is worth it for less burn-in and easier on the eyes.
Hmm, you may wish to clear some space on your internal storage - if I recall, my device slowed down when I had less than 1-2 GB of free space internally. Also, if your battery is nearly empty, your device will slow down because of Battery Saver (if you have it on), since battery saving clocks down your CPU/disables the high powered cores so you've only got 4 low powered cores until you charge. It may also be that a low battery can't provide enough power to your CPU for full operation.
Ok, a cache clear helped a little bit. I will try to reset my phone and test it if it helps.
I also noticed the slowness when the battery is low... then it is very slow...
Something on this device wrong... Motorola misconfigured anything. This shouldn't happen.
Your device should slow down when your battery is low as I wrote above, especially if you have Battery Saver active on your device. Does your navigation bar turn orange at below 15 % battery?
Only at 5%
danieldaeschle said:

Thus, at 5% your device CPU clocks down and shuts off the 1.5 GHz cores, leaving you on the 4 low power 1.2 GHz cores at a reduced clock speed. Under those conditions, your device will slow down until you plug your device in https://www.howtogeek.com/242472/how-to-use-and-configure-androids-battery-saver-mode/
Instead of doing a factory reset, I'd uninstall some unnecessary apps if possible, see if you can free up some more space - it doesn't have to be a full wipe (which will erase all your data).
I always uninstall apps which i don't use and i clean all cache data and junk data with the Android Go Files app.
Maybe i have to remove old pictures from my phone...
I cleared my storage now by deleting apps. I have 3gb free space now.
