hm2014811 <-> wt88047 - I don't understand it

Hi,
I already read multiple threads which are somehow related to this issue, but I still don't really understand it:
What is hm2014811 and what is wt88047? Where is the difference? Really different devices? Or somehow Android 4 and 5? It would be great if someone could explain all the details (or direct me to some page/thread where it is explained). Is it important which TWRP version to use?
Here someone asks I have a HM2014811 does exist a way to install a WT88047 rom?
But I got a used Redmi 2 2014811 with 1 GB RAM, too, and can only install wt88047 roms, as it seems. Previously I had some MIUI 8.3 and it was too slow. Currently I'm trying Lineage OS 14.1. Could it be that all of them are designed for 2 GB RAM?
I have TWRP 3.0.2 from here.
I'd like to go back to Android 4, to see if the device gets faster. However, it tells me that the ROMs are for hm2014811 and I have a wt88047!
Since some threads seem to tell me that installing a different TWRP would change the device type, I tried to install this older TWRP 2.8.7.2. However, it doesn't boot. It stays at the "MI" in the center, and while that's still shown, I can access fastboot and install the above 3.0.2 again, which works.
Any explanations, suggestions? What clean and fast Rom should I install on my 1 GB device, and how?
Thanks a lot,
Alex
[SOLUTION] - for error hm2014811
Hello,
Here is how it works:
Use this TWRP image: twrp-3.3.1-0-wt88047.img
Flash the recovery image like so:
1. fastboot devices
2. fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-0-wt88047.img
3. fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-0-wt88047.img
4. Wait as the phone reboots into the newly flashed TWRP recovery
5. in TWRP recovery on the phone go to Advanced -> ADB sideload and enable it
on the PC run:
adb sideload lineage-15.1-20200119-nightly-wt88047-signed.zip
Good luck!

You can flash it using SP flash tools, take scatter file from your ROM and then flash with SP tools...
Here is Fastboot Guide, but you can face adbd and large image error with fastboot.
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash recovery recovery-new.img
Please, help me to find usb vcom drivers for my device : LENOVO C2, k10a40, MT6735. Thank u again

You can get all news about Mediatek driver and tools (like Flashtool) here:
http://www.androidiani.com/forum/mo...l-flash-di-telefoni-con-chipset-mediatek.html
The latest driver (ADB + Preloader) is 5.1632 (the link that I posted), and is good fro XP up to Windows 10 and didn't rqeuire to disable driver sign.
The latest version for Flashtool (for Windows and Linux) is 5.1728
In the link that I posted are available Gogle Platform Tools (adb.exe/fastboot.exe) usefull for flash boot or recovery without using Flashtool.

Hi
great tool for mtk user y have à mt6797M ( elephone s7 4G )
if I understand correctly I need the recovery stock (I have) and a port recovery ( don't have ) but there are none in the link you give., I tried with MT6797 + helio + x25 + 6.0 but I have a MT6797M with android 7, I'm not sure try to flash .
is it possible for you to make a port of the MT6797M Helio X20 M ?
And my fil name: image-new.img not recovery-new.img it's normal ?
Thinking i got same request as Bradco but MT6753M chip Cubot Cheetah 2
I was not able to find the "1st kernel file", guessing it is xx.img-zImage file.
Here my device nougat stock recovery (or at page 4 device review)
With my device at the moment TWRP seems to work only on Marshmallow. It would be nice if someone like to share an updated recovery
BTW
It took me a few retries to check extracting recoveries requiers 3 or 4 times press enter instead of just a singel press any key
@toBsucht Psp @Bradco we have twrp for both Phone 1. Elephone S7 and 2.cubot cheetah 2 no need to Port again. search Forum..

yes there is this twrp: TWRP 3.0.3 by Jemmini (I have it) available on needrom and xda
it works with android 6 without problem but not with android 7.
This TWRP 3.0.3 by Jemmini is based on rom: S7_4g_20170110092009_v1.9.zip which is a rom android 6: https://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-12895-1-1.html#.WdiBplu0OM
My rom got this one: s7_4g_20170814163417_v2.4.zip which android 7 v2.4
I tried this :
1. clean install the rom: s7_4g_20170814163417_v2.4.zip
2. start the phone
3. flash the twrp : TWRP_303_Elephone_S7_4g_v1.9
4. reboot the phone but it is blocking on the logo ( I access the recovery but can not start the phone )
5. y tried 2/3 times but once the recovery install it remains on the logo.
after searching I found only this recovery TWRP_303_Elephone_S7_4g_v1.9
I do not know if there is an update because all DROPbox links are down.

yes sorry,
I explain just my situation, the subject of my post is well on the port of TWRP for processor MT6797M and not on elephone s7. I must speak well of the phone to explain the problem correctly.
Ps : y test this tuto : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32965365#post32965365
but y don't find the file BoardConfig.mk
Pretty much same here!
i took a look to default.prop it use a string:
ro.build.version.sdk=24 (stock v14 recovery)
ro.build.version.sdk=23 ( twrp recovery)
even more that needs to be updated in default.prop file from old TWRP to enable it on API24 i.g.
ro.build.fingerprint (seems to be a littel more work)
i stopped repacking TWRP since i note bad image maybe brick my phone.
Also someone told me marshmallow uses ID_creation code = MOB30J; Nougat uses ID_creation code = NHG47N .... idk
funny i removed a additioinal password request. Another user now got additional :highfive: and idk how it occur
Yes Guys, This thread is only for tool Not for Specific Device. So you can ask only for Port base [MT67XX] not for twrp. if you need twrp You can contact Me or create yourself using tool.

thank you in advance
As already written it is not that easy to use if some errors occur. Also i did not 100% on it which files i have to remove if tool say "delete following":
1. kernel (is it x.img-zImage?)
2. kernel offset (i guess i found)
and that flase "press ANY key" message! Just as a little sidenote for your update.

Hi Dude, After seeing your message, I tried this on the Honor 7X BND AL10 with EMUI 8 (Manually updated) with the Lineage OS (ARM 64 A-ONLY DEVICE) using the fastboot method. I wiped everything including system and I tried with both stock recovery installed and Twrp recovery installed and I also tried wiping using fastboot "fastboot -w" command. After that I installed using the fastboot and it went well and shows as finished but when I tried to boot, it just doesn't boot at all. I don't even see the lineage OS boot logo or something and eventually it goes to Huawei E recovery.
Could you please tell me which version exactly you flashed like aosp or RR or Lineage and Arm 64 A-only device or AB-device etc... A lot of people would really appreciate that.

Try Flashing AOSP 8.1 ARM64 A-Only device system.img as its more updated than lineage or RROS.
Only, A-Only system.img should work on our device as per treble wiki on github.

Hi, I already flashed the AOSP version and it's booted up and working fine but I wanted the lineageOS as it has all the built in customisations. I just don't know why the lineage os didn't work as it was reported above the it's working. Maybe it's the variant thing? I have BND AL-10. I don't know Anyway thanks!!

I installed it without any gapps or anything just bare minimum just to see if it boots or not. Here is what I observed during my short stay:laugh:
1. There is no VOLTE
2. The camera is working
3. I can't talk much about battery but there is no crazy drain as such so yeah
4. I don't know why you said it's the latest but the security patch is the same based on March, 2018 and it's android 8.1
5. The launcher seemed like the ice cream sandwich (Took me back to good ol days)
6. It felt smooth and unusual lag
I can't say much and suggest whether or not you can use it as a daily driver when I never used it as a daily driver. It's your call.
Hit the "Thanks" button if you really feel like thanking me:good:

Thanks for your detailed steps you documented.
But I did much simpiler. (but i did not flash gapps- so that would need to add some steps)
1. starting from stock EmUI 8 with stock recovery
2. Reboot to recovery perform factory reset.
3. when reset is done, while still in recovery plug in usb to phone and pc
4. select reboot, When screen goes off press and hold volume down. You will boot to fastboot
5. fastboot flash system C:\Users\Mr\Downloads\system-arm64-aonly.img
(your path to file will be different, unless you are also user "mr")
To return to stock do same steps but point fastboot flash to the stock emui system.img
Huawei camera works?
Which will you think better? Aosp lineages rr?
Thx
I tried flashing treble and lineage from twrp but neither worked on my bnd-l24. After flashing it just boots to the fastboot screen.

Hi, Could you tell me which model and variant of Honor 7x you are using. I tried this on BND AL10 and it doesn't boot with all the stuff above. However, I could boot into AOSP GSI.
For BND AL10 users, Only the AOSP GSI is working but both the RR and the Lineage are not working. I tried all three with same method.
1. Wiped/ Factory reset
2. Installed using "fastboot flash system system.img"
I posted this message because I wasted a lot of time & data LOL so maybe this would be helpful to others. However, if somehow you manage to do it on AL10, please post it here.

I posted this message because I wasted a lot of time & data LOL so maybe this would be helpful to others. However, if somehow you manage to do it on AL10, please post it here.

thanks for your reply! is that OOS android 10?
i thought that it would be more stable if we try to use miui 11 android 10 vendor. but, the problem is we must be on twrp for android 10 and with that twrp i cannot find System partition to flash .img, just System image.
There's one in K20 Pro Telegram, that one should work on our device, doing a couple of changes.

Error 7 while flashing any ROM except Lineage OS but that too does not boot.

Hi Fellas,
Need your help in making my old lenovo A6000plus working again.
I have tried flashing 4 roms so far and got error 7 on 3 out of four. I cant download many roms and try them because of low internet data availability. I hope you can understand.
Out of 4 roms i was only able to flash Lineage OS android 10 rom by dev harsh. But unfortunately that just seems stucked on booting screen and taking eternal to boot. i waited like 4 hours to get that finished but that never did. I guess something is wrong there.
I need your immediate help to make my old phone alive again. i want to give this phone to my younger brother so that he could study from Internet.
I am using TWRP 3.2.2.0.
Consider me kind of noob in resolving issues while flashing.
Thanks in advance.
the same to you
The question is same to you
TWRP Error
Try installing the newest PitchBlack Recovery, I also had problems with stock TWRP, especially 3.2.2, the Pitchblack recovery is based on TWRP 3.3.1, and should solve your problems, if still not, check that the bootloader is unlocked, the system partition isn't read only, and format every partition (not the sd card ofcourse XD)
You can download PitchBlack recovery here: sourceforge.net/projects/pbrp/files/a6000/PitchBlack-a6000-2.9.0-20181119-1229-OFFICIAL.zip/download[/url]
It's a sourceforge link, since they no longer support the a6000
Have a nice day and hope this helps :highfive:
