MY PROBLEM IS INSANELY RARE AND (propably) HARD TO FIX
Hello!
I've had i9505 for over 4 years now, I had many problems with root, custom rom etc but I always find ways to fix them - not this time!
Since yesterday, I can't boot to the system. It started when I was just in my ES file explorer and suddenly some weird artifacts popped up and I couldn't see anything (its not a physical screen problem!) then my phone turned off itself so now, I'm trying this:
Hikd power button --> *short vibration* --> Samsung S4 logo pops up --> black screen --> again vibration --> ... and again and again. It just loops here.
So I left it for a night hoping that when I wake up it will be finally working again but no, NOW it was stuck on 'SAMSUNG' logo (the one with a blue background). So I pulled out the battery and the phone started restarting again (boot loop).
But there is something new about this situation. Every 2 or 3 restarts there are ARTIFACTS on the screen. For now, I've experienced 3 different ones and I managed to catch one of them with camera (see image below)

There is another one with a blue code in really small size, couldn't catch it fast enough tho.
This is what I have been doing with my phone before all this crap happened:
1. I installed 'Udemy' app from Google Play
2. I installed Modded Google Play via Lucky Patcher
3. I updated Lucky patcher
4. I edited build.prop to make my phone visible as s7, but then i changed it back
I think these artifacts may be caused a virus or just broken system files - I don't know :/
And pretty much that's it. I really want to know what possibly could cause this issue.
Please, everyone, I've always found ways to fix problems without flashing phone, so I believe I can now.
I have access to download mode and TWRP recovery.
But one more thing about TWRP - when I try to copy a file or wipe cache, error message pops up "E: Unable to mount storage". Is it possible, that for the first time ever my phone actually got infected?
If I catch any new artifacts, I will show them here.
I would be grateful for any help at this point, thanks

@S4von
I can't see your screenshots in ur post.
You have high chance got infected, why you install Lucky Patcher and Modded Google play? These have high chance to contain malicious stuff. NEVER-EVER use Lucky Patcher again and apps like this.
Try these steps:
Reboot to TWRP Recovery (power button+vol.up+home button) go to Advanced-File Manager-external_sd and delete all folders on ur ext sd card (For example you should delete: Android, .android_secure, LOST.DIR, DCIM, etc) except your personal files/folders.
Now still on TWRP select Wipe-Format Data and type yes-then go back and press-Advanced Wipe-Select Dalvik / ART Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage, Cache and then Swipe to Wipe.
If you have mount errors, go back to TWRP home screen go to Mount-and select the partitions you can't mount. Then try again.
If you still have problems try to flash stock Rom via Odin, if flashed normally but got bootloop - flash TWRP via Odin and wipe everything - then reflash stock Rom via Odin.

I have been using Lucky patcher for 7 years, it's not a virus itself, it helped me a lot - turning off ads, patching or cloning apps etc - its amazing and maaany people use it.
And still, I want to get the best results as possible without deleting data. For example, I had several important notes in my S Note app and I can't lose them, they are too important.

You can use Adaway to turn off ads. Patching clone apps are not legit and you should avoid it. I will say it once again, never-ever use lucky patcher and apps like this again. You should know that apps like this may contain various of malicious stuff.
At this point you are now, you need to wipe your phone and lose your data.
Btw your TWRP is so old....Download and flash 3.2.3-0 HERE. Then try the steps I told you above.

Dude I was trying to help you. You are the one who can't boot your phone not me. Goole Play and Antivirus marked it as Malware. Stay with ur Lucky Patcher :fingers-crossed:
Also let me remid you some of the rules of XDA:
6. Do not post or request warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, then pay for it. We do not accept warez nor do we permit members to request, post, promote or describe ways in which warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained or used. This is a site of developers, i.e. the sort of people who create such software. When you cheat a software developer, you cheat us as a community
I'm sorry but may I ask you where did I request warez?

I was triying to help you but you are rude. Sorry
Copy your personal data to your PC, and flash stock ROM.
If it solves the issue, then it's very likely that installing Lucky Patcher caused it.
To try and prove that, follow the exact steps that you performed that lead to the issue and see if it happens again.
But I don't post aka share this program. I don't encourage people to use it either.
All right, thanks for your help, maybe it will help someone else.

But I've had it installed for over 7 years - You may be right, of course, but it just seems impossible to be causing this issue.
Except of that, I've updated messenger and youtube app. Maybe several factors made the system crash and prevent me from booting.
You know, I'm kinda unlucky. 2 weeks ago I installed Peters Jackons King Kong (PC) on Windows 10 and you know what happened? It broke the system, seriously. This game just crashes new windows 10. First PC, now phone.
And just a question, can I install this ROM without any problems here?

Or should I wipe whole phone first?

I flashed ROM I9505XXUHOJ2 and i can't even get into recovery now :/ Only download mode, I tried installing twrp again via odin but still, cant get into recovery.
Any ideas now? I can boot into download mode, but I can SOMETIMES boot into recovery (which isn't twrp).
I wouldn't answer you after your irony attitude but you seem desperate. Take a look on my guides, you need the "clean install from the scratch guide. Read whole the guide and follow the steps there and I guess you will be able to boot your device.

There does not seem to be any recent onfo on my partner phone, nor very clear if the 5360 rom is compatible
So here is the question. Is there a minimalist rom with equally good battery life. Her phone is much better than my ace
on battery life. but is full of samsung garbage.

As far as I'm aware the 5363 is the o2 variant of the 5360
You might be able to just unlock the phone if not already unlocked (use galaxy toolbox) & flash 5360 firmware and use 5360 roms
Anything you do you do at your own risk - neither myself or xda are responsible for damage caused
I have rooted and unlocked phone ready to install reincarnation rom. I can't boot into clockwork recovery as I get the "error in sideload zip 7 message" I have tried installing clockwork from rom manager but still same. Think it is because the GTs 5363 bt number is not recognised.
can I get around this issue? I did a google search and found a cwm clockwork bla bla that seems to work.
but I will wait for any comments/imput before I go ahead

Why would you install cwm from rom manager? It's not supported - please do some searching and some reading else you will damage your device
There are two ways to get cwm on galaxy y
1- Flash temporary cwm zip in stock recovery - see http://d-h.st/u2m
2- Flash a kernel with cwm built in
If neither work on your variant you will need to flash 5360 firmware via odin at your own risk
I thought that I read that the rom manager is the recommended way of flashing CMW? Your supplied link seems to be a windows install file
How do I activate it please.

Hi.
Here is the CWM link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649475
Please do some digging first before asking.
Also, ROM Manager is not supported on our phones, so do not use it.

Don't know what you are clicking on as it's a zip file
Make sure you are clicking on the right download button & not an ad - Install ad blocking software on pc or an app on phone if required
I never post exe files - all my files on dev host are Flashable zips/tars unless otherwise stated

The reading re my device is quite confusing. but I got the CWM installed thanks. In the interim I have soft bricked the phone. When it boots it still reads gts 5363 in the boot screen. I was expecting it to now read 5360? would it be a good idea to flash a standard 5360 onto the phone via odin .
and maybe work forward from that

With the temp zip I provided by Flashing in stock rom or by Flashing a kernel with cwm built in

Just flash stock rom via odin

If you don't know what you're reading when it's filled with seemingly bizarre terminology (we've been at that stage one time or another), you do three things:
1) Read on and/or use Google.
Usually definitions will pop out after a while. If I'm not mistaken there are a few threads outlining terminology definitions and usage.
2) Follow everything that they say. And when I say follow, I mean follow 100%, by the book. Reread the instructions over and over to make sure you are actually doing it right.
3) PM another more well-informed member, and don't be afraid to ask.
As for patience, well...
He has dealt with countless people that were in about the same situation as you: thinking that they knew what they were doing and eventually getting into deep s**t with no way out. He has always tried helped them out. Problem is, some of them simply don't want to listen, even if he was correct (which he most likely was). Even then, he tries his best.
Trust me, he knows what he's doing.
Take a deep breath, reread EVERYTHING on this thread, and restart from square one: stock ROM.
If you're too lazy to find (I hope you're not) here is the link for Odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568853
Risky, but everything here is a risk, isn't it? I rarely hear of 5363 users getting stuck here, so this should be fine.
Good luck.
Why would I be sarcastic? there is volumes of stuff on the site all done by this guy.! I show appeciation of this . I can assure you I do spend hours trying to follow information. Some of the links don't work ,sometimes my Firefox security stops progress . very frustrating at times;.
Thanks Mr Smith, now unbricked. I could not find odin 3.184 "spent over an hour trying" 1.85 worked ok . Phone now wakes up as 5360! If the rom is less bloated than the 02 one .I might leave well alone! Stress level falling!
What he meant was Odin3 v1.84.
But, its nice to see things sorted out with your partner's phone.
I 've had time to have a look at the standard rom Iinstalled. Glad the phone is working etc but I still have not achieved anything .
I still need to get rid of the samsung bundled stuff and be able to use the sd card storage. I am still unable to use CWM 5.0.26 "I get the code 7 error and the phone has re un rooted . Update ,Ive now re rooted it!

Root phone
Use Link2sd (playstore) to uninstall system apps
Use the temp cwm I posted a few pages back - place on root (not in any folder) of sd card & flash in stock recovery to get to cwm
Or use a custom recovery that has cwm built in eg hells fusion #50 for stock based roms
Can't give you any more support with this as I'm just repeating what Iv already said
Ok guys, could really do with your help here.
I have an unrooted n9005, which recently had an earpiece fault.
I took it to my local repair store, who took it and said come back in an hour.
After I went back, I found that someone had installed mobomarket on it.
The owner of the shop said it wasn't him, but I can see from the unlock log that it happened for sure whilst with him.
Ok, so I figured what harm could that really do, but then thought to check further.
On rebooting to the odin download screen (vol home and power), the Knox status is now 0x1.
This means they rooted it right? Or is it possible to trip another way?
However, it now isn't rooted (testing using su in terminal) and the firmware status on the odin download screen shows as "official".
My question therefore is, is it possible to root the phone, install malware then unroot it, leaving the malware still active?
Or does the fact the download status show "official" instead of "custom" mean this isn't possible?
This is kinda important as if there is a possibility the phone is compromised, I need to call the police but obviously don't want to do this if the guy is innocent.
(I could for example accept that he used the phone without permission to play something or whatever, and whilst not ethical, I don't need to worry about having to wipe this phone)
Thanks guys, your input would be much appreciated as I intend to go back to him tomorrow.

The real issue is can it be infected or does the boot loader have some sort of checksum protection? That's all I really care about for now...

Just remove any funny apps you found.
If in doubt, just perform a factory reset.
It's more important I know if my data could have been compromised. For example Google chrome accounts etc...

Safest bet is to always assume the worst. Change all your passwords.
If you have proof, I would also report it. Either to a consumer union if you have one, or to the police. Such practises are usually forbidden by law.
This is why I never trust independent repair shops. (It also really doesn't help that the ones here never speak Dutch or English, and are always run by immigrants)
I've now found an app called mobo daemon on the phone too. Sigh.
So just to confirm, to do a secure wipe, I use odin and reflash the whole Rom?
I need to erase the internal sdcard too? (So basically lose everything on the phone? )
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Do you have a bill or something like that? Did he tell you what he have done?
Tripping knox lowers the value of the device and some knox related features are now unusable.
Maybe the shop used Mobo to backup your data.. that means contacts, accounts and so on.. you can trust him or not.. i would tend to distrust him
He said he didn't run anything on the phone, just checked the ribbon for the speaker.
Swore he didn't do anything else.
Now maybe he didn't, but someone looked through ask my gallery, and installed this app.
It's a crappy situation.
So I guess the phone isn't safe.

Can someone confirm, if the phone is rooted, the system status will change to "custom"?
And if flashed back (So root removed) this would clear any malware?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
I'm on 4.4.2 and rooted, but system status is official (my knox is 0x0). Used towelroot then (it's been a while since i rooted).
I'm not a wizz, but tripping knox usualy happens while rooting, when unrooted afterwards you cannot acces/see anything they might have installed/put in the root of your device.
I would do a full wipe including sd card, just back up the things you absolutely want to keep like pics etc, and follow advice in #6, just to be safe.
If the shop guy reflash official firmware after rooted the phone it will show official again.
You could flash twrp, wipe everything then reflash official firmware if that's going to make you feel more secure

Went back there today to ask to see the security cameras. Shop has 5 - 3 point around the area, 2 focus directly on the desk (where the phone was supposedly the whole time).
Surprise surprise, all the cameras worked except those 2. Went to the stall (it's in a mall market) as they have one that points at the store. Again, camera not working.
I've got the phone back now (and rooted it) to have a look around on there, but honestly I'm not sure what I would be looking for.
Now though, my Download screen status says "Custom" (I assume because it's rooted)
Now am I missing the point here, but if it said "Official" before - this means it had to be a clean flash? (in which case it's impossible for any malware to be on it?) - or can it still be infected? And why would they flash it back anyway? Maybe get off all the password data then remove root to hide tracks?
Thing is, I am trying to download the official ROM to reflash, but I'm on a 128kbps connection and it's going to take days.....
Righty - been through everything and going by the "Unlock log" - here is what seems to have happened:
15:17 - Phone handed into store.
15:22 - They start playing around with the gallery
15:25 - Go into settings and enable USB debug mode
Phone now shows no use (so I guess this is when it is being rooted) until:
15:47 - When suddenly Mobodaemon is installed onto the device
And then no access until:
16:22 - Which I assume is the time it took Mobodeamon to copy across everything and perhaps flash back?
Then no access until I get back at 16:57
So from this, I'm guessing they did a complete backup of the phone using Mobodaemon - so have access to every saved password on the device. So now I'm going through my Google Chrome listing to see which are the most important ones I need changed.
Actually one thing that puzzles me, is they didn't have very long to download the official firmware to reflash it. Mine is the HK model which is 1.5GB, even the fastest Thai connection has issues with over 300K/s.... curious!
They probably already had the official firmware ready to flash, assuming they perform this kinda 'repairs' more often.
http://mobo-daemon1.android.informer.com
Doing a quick search on Google i could see that the app is used to wirelessy manage your contacts etc etc but for someone to use the app the phone and pc need to be connected to same WiFi network.
What did you have the phone in for repair?
Yeah, or just plug it in via USB.
My plan now is this.
Copy all of my photos and music and data from the phone to my PC.
Use Titanium Backup to backup just the settings of some apps which i dont wnna lose (not the apps themselves, as I assume they could be compromised)
Install the TWRP as suggested and choose "Wipe" - which means the whole phone will be cleared right? Including the internal SD.
Re-flash the official image - install the apps from the app store. Root the phone again, re-import the settings using Titanium backup.
Then turn on phone encryption (this can be done on a rooted phone?) and set a proper password.
And I should be all good right?

VERY good point!
Its theoretical possible to compromise the partitions of your note which won't be touched by wiping and/or flashing a new rom..
but honestly, it's enough
Heyo, lets get started ruining this device even more! See if we can't brick it ey?
Anyways first off the battery is draining like a madman, 1% every 30 seconds or so. The thing is not getting the performance in games that it should be, using other devices with lower end hardware as a reference(1.1ghz quad core, adreno 305, 2gb ram one touch, and 1.2ghz quad core, adreno 306, 1.3gb ram kyocera), it keeps micro-stuttering while browsing chrome and doing basic actions with the UI, also when the battery is draining too(funny, sometimes while I have the charger plugged in and do basic activies such as chrome, youtube, read books, mess with menu settings the battery actually charges instead of deplete, but sometimes, seemingly always now, it depletes just as fast as though it was unplugged).
Anyways I have decided to try and customize the device with the plethora of information on here and all over the web for this device(after doing a lot more "research" of course and laying everything out for myself step by step to try to minimize failure.
First question is how much of a chance is there to brick the device installing TWRP alone? Really want to get that on there before doing anything, then install SuperSU from there with zip flash. And does it matter if I use a .tar or .img version of TWRP to flash with odin? The latest version of TWRP is in .img format and the tutorials I read say to use a .tar.
After that witch should I do try first, custom rom or custom kernel? What custom rom would be best at this point in time(5/13/2016) for this device, 100% compatible and fully tested. Also a kernel(unless overclocking can be unlocked within the custom rom, in witch case less chance of me ****ing up yet another android device).
One last thing, I really hope that even I am successful in doing all of this without ****ing up the phone that it does not turn out to be a fruitless effort, how much performance gains can I expect from all of this, custom rom, debloat after root, set sd as default storage after root(package does not belong to 2000 afterall), and then maybe a slight overclock on the cpu and gpu.
And thats all assuming that one day after getting all of this to work that one day I don't wake up and for no apparent reason boot up the phone and find its bootlooped or something without ever changing anything once all of this is done, I mean if I get the thing working as I would like it to work theres no more reason for me **** with it is there? Also I guess no reason to even have the thing if it aint gonna function how I need it to function right?
Thanks for the help though anyways, if anybody even decides to help me this time in a manner that they are not just "helping" just because the end result ****s me over.
Thanks again.
Oh one other problem I am having with the phone I was hoping a custom rom might fix, my Apps will not register as the correct size in Application manager. A 2gb game is showing up as 50mb total data, and when using "Move to SD Card" it only shows only like 200kb of data on the sd card, it does with with every single app on the phone. I know should not be like this because the last 2 phones I had were able to move every single byte of data from every one of the same exact apps to the SD card without an issue. Plus the application manager not registering the correct app size is just bugging me.

Well first it sounds like you need a new battery, I suggest having a couple and an external charger (it's great for gaming, just pop in a new fully charged battery). To install TWRP with Odin you need the tar file. The chance of Helicon with TWRP is almost zero, recovery is always overwritten when you flash a stock tar in Odin. So if something is messed up, just flash the stock tar and you are back to stock, grab it at www.sammobile.com . When you Odin TWRP make sure that you uncheck Auto Reboot in Odin. I would suggest my ROM as it is still being updated every few months, but I am biased. I use my S4 for gaming and this thing can handle PSP emulation when it is tweaked right.
Wicked X is my ROM and it's located here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3115583

Ok thanks, a little reluctant to install an OS with the name "Wicked" though.
Any ideas why the stock Application Manager is being wacky, done several factory resets. For instance I have installed Fifa 16 about 5 times now just to see if it would fix the data readout in App manager, the Game is at least 1.5gb total data, app manager shows it as about 50-70mb, when using "Move to SD Card" it shows about 700kb of data on sd card.
Whats the deal?
Also before flashing TWRP with odin I have to unlock bootloader or something?

No, bootloader is already unlocked. I can't tell you on the other without more information. What ROM are you on? Have you done any modifications? Have you Odined a full stock tar?
I bought this phone used on cl. Fully stock not a single mod on it as far as I am aware. The only thing I have done is factory reset.
It seems half the time as well when I Uninstall apps the data stays in misc section of storage manager. I have to go into recovery and clear cache and I get my space back. And misc section of storage manager will be back down to its normal size.
@ your comment about loader. You absolutely certain and no bs that if I attempt to flash something (even just twrp) it ain't gonna fail and go tit's up because I didn't unlock bootloader or something?
Just lost 2 phones already simply from uninstslling gltools after it failed to produce my desired results. Install went fine, but uninstslling rebooted the phones and got one caught in boot loop other just sits on manufacur er logo.
If asked why I was stupid enough to try it a second time I'll say I wasn't 100% sure it was absolutely gltools as the culprit.
Anyways this is the first device I have had with so much support with custom recoveries. Roms and kernels and even access to stock rom files. Would love to successfully apply some good stable/safe/and better running mods than the stock stuff though since I am convinced this hardware should be running better than it currently is!! But not trying anything for a while though till I've read as much as I can at least and have at least a few options for recovery should somehring go wrong.
Don't like being stuck with thumb up my ass stacking bricks, I am no mason.

100%, Sprint doesn't lock bootloaders (though Samsung has started to). You may have to turn off the an option in Settings/Security, I think it's called Write Protection, it won't let you Odin anything if it is on.
I have a sprint sph-720T
I installed TWRP using ODIN
then reboot in recovery, put OCTOS-M on to internal memory and wipe the cache davik
install the OCTOS-M from zip file then install GAPPS from zip.
BOOOM! you have a rooted android 6.0.1 ! longer battery life.
EDIT: if you need direct links to the files, just ask.

I just downloaded Wicked 10.9 but am not sure I have all the files needed. In the first page it mentions to load the 720t conversion file and a kernal file.
Later I saw that the kernal file was include. I don't know if I should flash one, two or three files.

Three, the v11.0 update last.
Hello everyone I ordered this phone a few days ago it's the chinese version and I'm having a lot of trouble...
First of all the battery takes way too long to chargd ( 2 hours) and then the battery drains completely about 30% an hour without any use.
I cant screenshot no matter how I try, three finger pinch or holding the lower volume button and power button.
I tried factory reset but now my Google play store doesn't work.
Is there anything that can be done??
I don't understand much about this but I'm willing to try everything... thanks in advance

If I leave my phone in a drawer, unconnected to WiFi and with all apps closed it still goes after 3-5 hours from 100% to 0% and I still can't screenshot.. I looked at how to unlock the bootloader but I don't find any tutorial that fits build number 13 so I have no idea if it'll work.

You bought your phone from an online chinese store, right? Chinese phones obviously don't have Google stuff on them. That's why vendors from aliexpress etc. flash a different firmware on them (Usually A2017G firmware). You can install the stock firmware if you download an update.zip, put it on the root of the internal storage, and install it from the Updates menu
otherwise unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and slap a custom rom on it. But be careful to flash the A2017 modem and universal bootstack before.

Okay okay, sorry
-Chinese phones don't have the so-called "GApps" or Google apps, because they use their own stuff, can't blame them lol
Also you can't just sell an Android phone without Play store and expect people to buy them, therefore these Chinese retailers take the system from the "A2017G" (the International version of the phone, different modem) and put it on the A2017. And that's a lottery: you can get a good performing phone or something that barely runs (too common imo)
What you can do without getting your hands dirty is install the original system officially. You have to find a zip file (official update zip) that has the system (it's like 2.3 GB fyi) and put it in the root of the internal storage, which is the folder that you can open after you plug your device on your PC (it should appear as a phone, then when you open it there will appear one or two folders called Internal storage and SD card (if you have an SD on the phone, that is) and you just open the Internal storage one and throw the update.zip inside. After that you just go to the settings of your phone, then Updates, and Check for updates, it should find the zip and you get the option to install it. After that voila, you get OTA updates and all.
What I'm unsure of is if you'll have Google apps after installing this update.
So to get Google apps, in case you don't have them, you can't just install the Play store, you need to get some special apps into the system itself (Play Services is the most important, you might have heard of it). To do that you need to install them from a custom recovery (TWRP is the most common, it basically is sort of an extremely simple operating system that runs on the RAM of the phone, so that you can do whatever you want with the system, like delete it and change it) and install the google apps with a zip that does it for you. There's a Windows exe going around, called the axon7toolkit (google it) and it does everything for you in theory (unlock the bootloader, install TWRP). After you have everything set up I guess you should ask again, that's a rather lengthy process too.
I think @front firing speakers has a way easier method, would be better for him to tell you how to get Google apps. But the part without strikethrough applies anyways. If I find a link for the official update zip i'll let you know
---------- Post added at 11:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 PM ----------
Okay, found an android 6 zip file. what I'm unsure of is if the actual ZIP you have to use is the one you download or if there is another zip inside that one. As a rule of thumb, open the zip on your PC and if there's a bunch of folders and files like META-INF and stuff like that, just rename it to update.zip and put it on your phone. If you open it and find another zip inside, just unzip the one inside and put it on your phone.
edit: forgot the link lol

okay I have the Chinese axon 7. I imported from Ali express. it works perfectly fine. Just get on latest build via zip file (b013) in my case. then other updates follow on.
Good thing about A2017 is that you get updates first. it's on b16 now and 7.1.1.
you need Google play store, Google play services, and Google framework.. Download these from apk mirror.
set up Google account and its all good.
elsewhere on this thread there is a way to enable the Google assistant.
forgot to say, I don't root my phones. because of apps that won't work with rooting. such as sky tv

Do this: Unplug your phone if it is connected. Turn the phone on, go to Developer options, and turn OEM unlocking on, and USB debugging on. After that turn it off and try again, volume down and power.
If it fails, then install this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
After you install it, with the phone on, connect it to your PC on the back ports if possible, open the Command prompt (if you have Windows, just search "cmd" on the search bar), type "adb devices" (without the "") and if something appears below "List of devices attached" you can just type "adb reboot recovery".

My friend's an IT so he set up Meraki for me which I can enroll in instead of MobiControl, but a minute later this pops up:
I still have access to the settings but cannot enable USB Debugging.
I flashed a combination file which got me to the "factory binary" where I can unlock OEM and enable USB Debugging, but I don't know where to go from here:
I flashed a stock ROM, but that doesn't get rid of doordash and MobiControl during setup.
Please help!
Which Android version did you flash? Did you finally get rid of MobiControl?

I solved this. Basically, I accidentally bricked the tablet, which I assume is what caused Samsung Knox to fail and thus Mobi Control didn't try installing on a fresh flash of Android 8.1. Fuller story below:
After 3 days straight of trying to reset the tablet, including flashing the combo file, trying anything I can think of, re-flashing the stock rom and seeing if the problem is gone, I finally fixed it.
What ended up happening was, while re-flashing the stock rom on my 4th attempt, I flashed the AP but not one of the other things (I guess CP?) which resulted in the tablet getting bricked.
Long story short, I held both volume buttons and power to boot into a blue download mode (as opposed to a black one via holding power down + volume and selecting download mode, since the volume down + power nor the volume up + power combos weren't working) and flashed the stock rom to it properly.
Upon setup, I was still required to set up wi-fi, but it didn't attempt to install mobicontrol! I've been using the tablet normally since. Who would have known accidentally bricking the tablet was all I needed to do!

Make sure you're using the right version of odin for your tablet and you're flashing the right version of android.

After tried 5 versions of Odin, include 2 different v3.13.3, finally got a good news. I can flash T387v firmware Andriod 8.1 and 9. But the bad news is I cannot brick it, no matter flashed only AP or BL. I tried to flash with T387W or T387T firmware, I got PIT error messages.
Which version of firmware were you using?

Thank you. It looks like it's Android 9. Did you update it to Android 10?

It's Android 8.1. If that file I mentioned is 9, then it's not the one I flashed, but was instead on my to-do list of troubleshooting steps. I was going to try flashing Android 9 and 10 but I got it working with 8.1 so I'm keeping it on that. Plus, the newer the android, the more secure Samsung Knox will be, so it will be harder breaking it.
Any idea where you downloaded it from? I cant seem to find a link.

Android 10: https://samfrew.com/download/Galaxy__Tab__A__/1hjk/VZW/T387VVRU3CUI2/T387VVZW3CUI2/
"The fact that it has MobiControl installed suggests it's a company device, and is therefore administered by that company's IT department. It's probably going to be difficult to remove MobiControl unless you talk to that IT department about it."
The above is a quote I found regarding Knox and the MobiControl app. Which tells me that this thread, although likely unintentional, is violating XDA Forum Rule #9:
9. Don't get us into trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users and those that write great code.

XDA does not wish to be held liable for circumventing device security regardless of intent of the user, which is why I'm closing this thread.
