any way to charge the p600 faster?
I believe its the exnoyos octa processor. this is seriously making me consider snapdragon version of note pro 12.2 since it will be usb 3.0, any idea what that model will be. called?
curious, what , if any of p601 or p605 have that snapdragon 800, the quick charge 2.0??
thanks

There are many threads on this but anyhoo.
There is a way to charge P600 in 4hours from 5% to 100%. Put it on charge from 5% to just over 80% and then unplug and plug it straignt back in. Dont know why but it charges slowly from 80% if you dont do this.

Pretty sure the slower "trickle" charge after 80% is to help prolong battery longevity and to prevent overheating. Li-ion/Po cells are very sensitive and dangerous so dropping too much energy in a very fast manner will age the cells faster and also could cause them to overheat and possibly explode

Phone heating up whilst charging

Hello all, I'm currently using my Exynos Galaxy S8 and whilst charging via the included Adaptive Fast Charge adapter, I've noticed my phone gets warm. I'm not using it during this period and I am unsure whether it is something worth getting worried about. I hope someone can help me shed some light on this, thanks!
All samsung will heat while charging so dont panic
if fast charge is on of course it has a faster current output
Please don't be panic almost Samsung mobile will heated while charging, but if you are using fast charger fast output generated.
aslong as its not getting over 60c on cpu and 50c on battery its ok in my opinion.

Slow Fast Charging of Huawei P10 Lite

My Huawei P10 Lite is charging very slow and just increment by 1 % in 5 minutes. The charging is slow in summer and it is fast in winter. The phone back and charger gets hot in summer. When I switched it off and then apply charging to it, it charges fast. I don't know what is the problem with it? In summer,my area temperature reaches to 40 Celsius degree. Please help

You pretty much answered the question yourself. To prevent overheating it charges slower. When it's turned off it generates less heat and can therefore charge faster. When ambient temperature is high it charges slowly.

It's doing exactly ehat my xa2 should be doing, conserving battery life (capacity)

I think it should not do this way.As the model is made for different regions so mine is made for my region and it should not charge slow then. What you say?

It's physics. There is absolutely no way for them to counteract the effects of warm temperatures other than to slow down charging. If you had air conditioning you'd probably be able to get fast charging to work.
The variants of a model generally don't have that many differences. It is a mass produced product after all. Mostly it's down to software. Occasionally RAM/storage configuration (which is also the case with this phone) and on rare occasions it goes deeper than that.

Battery longevity with Dash charging

As a first-time owner of an OP phone, I am really amazed with both battery endurance and charging speed.
However, I am a bit concerned about the battery longevity by using high V/Amps during charge, especially as the charging speed is not a top priority for me (most of the times).
As I still can't shake the habit of overnight charging, I was thinking about using an weaker / non-OP charger for overnight charging.
So, does anyone else share my concerns?
I've owned the OP 3 for two years and I've been using dash charge every night. The battery life is still good and I could get through the day. So I'm not too worried about it.
The current conversion is done by the charger and the cable, not the phone
The shorter charging time will produce less heat
=> Theoretically, it will help the battey's longevity

Yes. I almost always slow charge all my devices. When slow charged my devices last longer on that charge. Even at 0.5 amp it still doesn't take that long to charge my 6T.
The battery degrades due to heat since Dash takes most of the heat away from the battery and puts it in the brick we should be fine and to mention the battery management controler will only draw the power it needs and won't draw over the limit so no issues there. But coming from previous OP devices I've noticed the Battery quality isn't as good as other OEM's and definitely degrades much faster but OnePlus will replace the battery very cheap or you could do yourself if you can source an OEM part and adhesive

i'm using the default charger (out of box, 5V 2A) on RN7 (chinese rom), battery doesnt heat up as the app (AccuBattery) saying temperature upto 36 or 37 C, once i seen shooted at 39 C (max)
but in any case phone was slightly heated on top from behind (adjacent to back camera), i think it may be due to processor but the battery temperature was fine

Battery temp depends on ambient temp too. It's about 36°c ambient here. So may be that's the reason for heating.

i think it is not normal if ambient is 36 and on charging battery temp goes upto 45, you can also check different phones with different chargers
or you can try charging your phone via laptop/PC, it will slow charge the device but you will see the temperature rise of battery be negligible
keep in mind that charger as well as charging cable both may contribute in heating up of phone
by the way which charger are you using?
just for information (not related to thread) you can visit the website regarding temperature and battery life

Thanks for Ur reply.
Yeah, for high ambient it's ok to have high temp. I thought the same.
I am using charger that came with the box.
Saw many people complaining about the same. So thought of creating this thread.

keep in mind that im using chinese rom (comes with the mobile), lucky me my mobile dont get heat up, same is the case with my friend we purchased the same RN7 chinese and both got lucky because mobile isnt heating while charging, although im thinking to purchase QC4 charger but don't know will it improves battery life (cycle) or degrade it at the cost of fast cahrging

A custom kernel could be a solution for heating, or just charge at lower amps.
Reg. Qc4 make sure u charge in an AC room ?lol

I dont think QC 4 require AC room, as my friend owns vivo v15pro with fast charging (5V, 4A). no heating issues, im concerned because RN7 is a budget phone and normally budget phones dont offer QC3 or QC4/+
