Hello! Does anyone have an issue when you are calling a contact from your address book and for a slight moment appears only a contact's phone number , than it rapidly changes to contact's name ? Not a big issue but slightly annoying. I've tried to replace all contacts to Samsung account from Google account but it didn't change anything. Sorry if the topic was already discussed, couldn't find anything about it.

I have had no real issues with my N1 since I got it. I have been using CM's roms. The other day I noticed that when I was making and receiving calls the wrong organization was showing up. I noticed that if I deleted a contact and reentered it it fixed that contact. I have 200+ contacts with multiple entries and would like to see if anybody has an easier way to fix this problem.
Thanks in advance,
Manny
same here.
the organization is shown up wrong in the in-call page.
in my case, the contacts were synced via Gmail. I've checked there and the information is set correctly. even on the phone, if I go to edit the contact details, the organization is shown correctly. only when in the in-call page, the information is wrong...
tried to re-sync several times with Gmail after changing some information, only to test, but it won't correct the situation...
Same here. Contacts sync'd from Google/Gmail. Everything shows up find on both Google and phone's contact list, but in-call display shows something different.
I though it was me lol!
Yeh i noticed that, not sure if it was doing this on older cyanogen roms or not.
Funny...I get one contact picture for all of my contacts that have an organization assigned??? She's not even in the organization.
I am glad that I am not the only one. I even turned of sync and deleted all the contacts on my gmail and on phone. Then restored a back up to my gmail account and let the phone sync up but it didn't fix it. The only way I have corrected it on some contacts is to delete them and reenter them. Its okay when the only have one number but when they have multiple numbers and emails it will be a hassle.
i hope this gets into cyanogene's issue list and will be fixed within the next release.
I have the same issue.
Is anyone experiencing this issue syncing their contacts with Facebook? This was an issue for me when I first got my N1 and not syncing my contacts with Facebook fixed it.
same issue here.
Me too got same bug
I am glad that I am not the only one, but I would have expected someone to have a solution. I will have to do more searching.
Wrong Organization
I am also getting wrong organization for the calls coming in. It is quite disconcerting, because I need this data to be right. However, I fulfill this need by using the name and number to figure it out myself, and by asking the caller who they're calling from. This should be fixed soon.
I have model Nexus One, firmware 2.1-update1, baseband 32.24.00.22U_4.03.00.21_2, kernel 2.6.33.1-cyanogenmod [email protected] #1, mod version CyanogenMod-5.0.5.3-N1, build #EPE54B.
P.S., with all my "should"s, of course I am very grateful for any and all work that's gone into this for otherwise uncompensated work. I'm leaning toward learning this programming myself, so if anybody insists and points me to the right primers, I could fix it myself.
Hey everyone,
I've searched and haven't found anyone else complaining about this issue, wanted to see if anyone else had it:
Running DamageControl 2.08.1
I have 1 facebook friend/acquaintance that apparently has a single space entered for his mobile number. He's not listed in my google contacts at all, only a facebook friend.
Since the hero syncs contacts with facebook friends it looks like it thinks anyone with a blank number is this facebook friend. The result: Any phone calls from people with blocked caller id shows as this guys name. Also text messages from the USGS earthquake list come in as if they're from him as well.
The only solution I can think of is asking him to change his number on facebook or unfriend him. Has anyone found a way to sync facebook profiles with people in the google phone book only and not every facebook friend one has? Or a way to remove a single entry from the facebook syncd people?
Thanks for any ideas

I had this randomly happen. Not sure why or how and it only happened once. I can back you up and say it happened, I don't know any more :/
I reset an Inspire 4G today because the user's Google Account address was changed. Before resetting, the contact's name would show up when called. After resetting, the contact's name will not show up. Every call is UNKNOWN even though the contact and phone number is listed in the Contacts.
All contacts are synced via Google Sync. All contacts exist just like before with the old Google Email address.
All that was done was a "Factory Reset" and a new Google mail.
Anyone have any idea on how to get a contact's name to display when they are calling again?
I'm bumping this in hope for information.
By any chance maybe its your contact who changed a setting to block their number.
I have a friend who switches to private alot on her phone and forgets to change it back. In her case it simple setting in her blackberry

Nah, no blocking enabled for any of the contacts. Yet it happens for all of them (at least 20 called and don't display anything but their phone number).
I've actually always had a similar problem with my contact recognition. My problem isn't that serious though.
As far as mine goes, it simply cannot differentiate between my sister's and my dad's cell phone. I found a pretty simple fix for that. I'm not sure (at all) how this fixed it, but all I did was swap the primary number with some other one.
(In my case setting my dad's BB as his primary as opposed to his iPhone seemed to solve it).
Sorry for such a rubbish question. I have searched, promise. Simple problem: The Photos for my contacts display in the People App and even show up when you tap on the grey square to bring up their contact information. It just doesn't show in the conversation/thread view. Bit annoying considering the photo is clearly stored in the contact info. Any ideas folks.
cheers
Go into Gmail Settings > General Settings
Scroll to the bottom. I have an option that says "Hide pictures in messages"
What's the status of yours?

That option is for showing images within messages, i don't believe its is related to contact pictures in conversation view.

I've seen the same problem in Gmail, Latitude and G-Talk.

Ok, it seems to be related to the very bizarre way android treats email addresses. Even though we all know email addresses are NOT case sensitive, Gmail and android don't appear to be able to treat them consistently. If the incoming email address does not match the case in the phone book exactly it won't show the contact photo.
What's even more bizarre is that i have two emails from the same person and it displays the first part of the email differently, once with upper case and once with lower case! I doubt very much that the business outgoing server is changing it so it must be either Gmail or Android?
Anybody else seen this behaviour?

YES! Annoying, isn't it? And they've commuted the bug in the latest Gmail 4.5
Anyone who cares, please Star this issue if you think it needs fixing

Thanks so much for finding this! A name in my contact list had the domain part written in all caps. I changed it to lower case, and contact photo showed up instantly on all of my email from him. Great find.
I've also noticed contacts with multiple email addresses do not show images consistently and is very annoying even when the case matches perfectly.
After updating the phone to official android 10 my contacts is so weird. There are multiple entries on their own which when checked on Google contacts web is perfectly fine. Also searching for contacts doesn't show the contact for few names. This is a huge bug anyone else facing this?
Yes, me too.
Those entries which has something written in the "Company" field do not show up in search results.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Oh damn! That's bad. Most of my contacts have company field. They should fix this. For now use the contacts app to search that's still working fine. I figured it's the contacts section in the phone app that's not working properly.
Phone apps couldn't find record from Contacts
Exactly, I'm also infected by this bug.
When I tap my finger on Phone icon and tried to search by typing one-by-one First, Last name; number, address, company, email so on but there is no any record. Again I move my finger on Contacts app and try to find someone by mentioned search terms, Contacts only get the results.
My nokia after update to android 10 have one bug,
so I often restart myself when I'm using it, is there anyone who can help?? Please help me give me answer
