Lockscreen issue after manual update - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Questions & Answers

Hi! After I manually updated my ZB602KL X00TDB variant from v340 into v53 using the update provided in this link, https://www.asus.com/ph/Phone/ZenFone-Max-Pro-M1/HelpDesk_BIOS/
Now I got a hard time to unlock my lockscreen using pattern or PIN because it turns blackout when I swipe the screen to unlock my phone. Luckily, the finger print is enabled so I'm still able to use my phone.
Did somebody could help me please?
PS: I don't want to reset my phone because it will erase all of my application and data stored in internal storage.

Its Better for you to downgrade to Oreo. Last time when I Upgraded to V50 from Oreo. I have also faced similar type of bug. And after some days the Finger print Unlock was also not working. I was in great problem. Finally I downgraded to Oreo and currently using Custom ROM.

How did manage to downgrade your device? Is factory reset or erasing user data involved?

Just set a dark wallpaper at lockscreen to view pattern dot
You may have set a light wallpaper at lockscreen. Thus the icons and text turned into black. Change the lockscreen wallpaper you will see pattern or pin in white colour.

Unique problem !

hello everyone...its been a while
i recently downloaded cm 12.1 for the 1st time just to give it a shot because i was tired of stock 4.4 performance. i decided to encrypt my phone and i opted for a 6x6 pattern on my lock screen and also when restarting device. after using cm for a few days i noticed i did not have the option to decrypt my phone which i knew was strange and also my gps was not locking onto locations, so i decided to revert back to stock firmware which atm is 5.01 for tmo...i flashed through odin and when i restarted my device it's asking me for a 4x4 pattern unlock instead of a 6x6 so im stuck....i need advice on how to wipe internal hd as im guessing thats where my problem is located. so for the time being there is no way for me to use my phone smh
thanks in advance and i hope someone can give a helping hand

Can't replicate. I'm not sure, but maybe try this:
Revert back to cm12 -> remove lock screen pwd -> odin stock?

A very unusual issue with the fingerprint scanner

I've had my phone for a few months now
I flashed the Skydragon 6.0.1 ROM yesterday and I wanted to move back to 5.1.1
So I did, I flashed the TWRP for 5.1.1 and I flashed the Stock OOS 2.2.0
But now, my home button works and Im able to register my fingerprint but after I selected use fingerprint to unlock it doesn't unlock
I've tried every solution on the Internet such as
1) Force stop com.oneplus.fingerprint and hard reset
2)Use software nav buttons
3)Factory reset
Nothing seems to work
I love the fingerprint feature in the OP2
Someone please help me out.
When I dialled *#808# and checked the finger print auto test and it said PASS
So Im sure its not a Hardware error
You should probably flash the old modem back. Can you please get into the security settings inside settings and tell me if you have a force close. If you get a force close you have to flash the old modem.
By saying modem I mean firmware. You can find it in OnePlus 2 Android development > taker18's cyanpop's second post.
Or in blissmallow thread second post.

I have the exact opposite issue. My FPS works with all ROMs except H2OS 6.0.1. Let me know if you find a solution. Might help me fix my problem.

"Sometimes you might need to use your backup PIN, pattern, or password:
When your fingerprint isn't recognized after a few tries
After restarting your device
After switching to a different user on the device
After more than 48 hours have passed since you last unlocked using your backup method"

This is not what i meant, it is not asking me for any password, when i use the finger print sensor sometimes its opening a dail pad...
This happens to me to, usually after a failed attempt at reading my fingerprint it will then open the phone app after second successful attempt (and this with official CM13 and not OOS so it's ROM independence).

fingerprint unlock not working anymore?? HELP

Hey!
today I noticed something very weird on my OnePlus 5 (64GB)
somehow unlocking the phone with the fingerprint scanner isn't working anymore!
it always says that I have to use my code, like when you unlock it the first time after powering on!
the hardware is working, fingerprint scan works for example fine with my banking app and the option is still available in the settings menu!
Android 7.1.1
security patch 1st september 2017
francokernel 4.4.21
xxx nolimits rom 4.2 based on oos 4.5.14
rooted with magisk
xposed framework v88.2 installed
I did not make any changes to the phone, it simply stopped working!
I have already removed the security unlock and added new fingerprint scans, it did not work...
can anybody help me?
Are you using Greenify? If so, make sure "Alternative Screen Off mode" is enabled in Settings.

Just restart your phone and all works fine again...
If your fingerprint unlock still doesn't work I would try stock OOS instead of xXx No Limits and see if you still have the issue. I found that ROM extremely buggy both times I tried to run it and the other stock based ROM I tried (Freedom) really wasn't much better.
okey I fixed it by wiping cache and dalvik
thanks for your answers

Proximity sensor stays in "close" position

Nexus 6p, unlocked bootloader and running 8.1DP.
Whenever I make a call and put the phone to my ear the screen turns off and never comes back on. I tested the sensor with the device info app and I the sensor stays in the "close" position when engaged untill the app is restarted.
I did some research and I found that some users had this issue with the Nougat update but no relevant solutions were found and the 7.1.1 update fixed the problem.
I would like to avoid factory reset or locking the bootloader if possible.
Can anyone think of a possible solution?
I tried the Proximity sensor reset app from the play store and that does absolutely nothing.
EDIT: Stable 8.1 doesn't fix the issue, even after clean install and manual flash and wipe.
I'm on SuperXe 8.0 Oreo built and it works flawlessly. I remember having that issue on nougat ROMs use to drive me nuts. Every time I needed the keypad I had to fight to get the screen back on. ?
Not a factory reset. Manually wipe the phone and apply the latest 8.0 image.
So after manually flashing the 8.0 image everything worked. I thought id give 8.1 DP2 a shot and I wiped and flashed this manually. It worked during the restore but stopped working after all my apps were back, so I thought it may be an app that's causing the problem. Strated in safe mode, issue is still there. I guess Ill just have to wait for the stable 8.1 release. If anyone else is facing the issue please post here.
