OP7Pro fingerprint animation - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

So, as when OP6T McLaren Edition was launched...
Is there a way to have the OP7Pro fingerprint animation in our 6Ts????

Probably wait for OOS 9.5 to arrive and then enable it from 4A settings DB editor if it's available

Yeps thats the way you do it

No.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

Where can I see these new animations?

Only the ripple seems to be slightly different otherwise they're the same animations so far

If you wait till I get my OP7 Pro (will be attending the popup event tomorrow). I'll port the fp animation to the 6t!

I got my subs theme ready for the 7 Pro, the 6T has way more frames, 174 compared to 80 from the 7 pro. I already sold my 6T, so it would be to much work renaming every file and make it match. So sorry, if OnePlus gives the 6t the same frames on the 9.5 update. Then I'll release my new version for it aswell.

He got his substratum theme ready for his 7 Pro, the OnePlus 6T has 174 frames for the fingerprint animation compared to 80 frames from the 7 pro. That's 174 file to rename and make the frame match exactly like the 7 pro animation. Matching 80 to 174 frames is a lot of work unless a new os update 9.5 brings down the frames of the 6t to 80. Then it will be easier to get the animation from the 7 pro.

Thanks for all you do for the Android community. That was quick work getting your subs theme rebuilt for the 7 pro plus I am surprised the frames have reduced as much as they have. However I suppose that efficiency at work. Thanks again!! #neversettle

I recommend renovate ice with the notorious kernel, it has always been smooth and battery life is great.
I HIGHLY recommend the Note 8 port "IronMan-Rom 7.1.1".
https://forum.grifodev.ch/thread/139-rom-stable-n-7-1-1-aqia-13-11-17-sm-n950f-fd-n-ironman-rom/
The performance, for me, is noticeably faster and the battery life is great! Yesterday on it's first cycle I achieved over 6 hours screen on time and as for today had over 2 hours screen time (general web browsing, bit of Youtube, downloading apps from Play Store etc) and still got 70% left.
Very happy!

Thanks mate, I'll give it a try, just downloaded.
I'm coming from Oreo beta - I don't recommend it. Magisk doesn't work, kernel is not battery friendly, % is dropping from 100 to 80 in no time..... also lags here and there, not everything is working as it should. Yeah beta definitely, there's room for improvement.

Nice - thanks for the heads-up!
I was tempted by the Beta, but then I knew I'd miss the little features that I'm used to (like long press back button to kill etc.0) not to mention the stability factor. But I was itching for a change in rom. I was on Batman rom for a while and then I saw the Ironman rom Note 8 port and I haven't looked back! Everything, for me, works flawlessly - got Substratum theme, using the kernel that is provided and honestly I would say this is the best possible rom available for the S8 (I was even getting tempted to jump ship to the Pixel 2 XL...) but I feel very settled once again
Let me know how you find it!

After few days of testing all I can say is AWESOME. Stable, smooth, battery friendly. And tons of customizations. It reminds me of good times on Lollipop when Xposed was working and I was using Wanam app to change everything...
One thing is driving me crazy though. Substratum! It's not working properly. I have the Sungstratum paid add-on and SwiftDark theme (I have paid for that too!). It shows that all themes applied successfully, but after reboot nothing is changed (sometimes notification bar and settings are themes, but not always). What theme are you using?

Haha yeah I remember those days!
I also had an issue with substratum but since resolved it...
When you open substratum and then it's settings, do you see sungstratum listed there (like in my attached picture)?
My issue was I was using Titanium backup to restore it and substratum, but fully uninstalling them both (and the Swift Black theme) and clean installing them from the play store again, and rebooting, made it all work

I just bought Swift Black theme from play store. Uninstalled everything: substratum, add-on and themes. Rebooted. Installed everything again: substratum, add-on and black theme. Granted all permissions for substratum (I'm using Magisk). Applied theme. Restarted UI only and voila it worked for every app including dialer, contacts and gmail. Then rebooted. And dialer, contacts and gmail is all white again...
Ugh. I think I'm gonna liaise with substratum support but I don't think they would help as they already mentioned that on Samsung it CAN work (but that not mean it would).

Perhaps yeah post on the substratum thread regarding the layers not sticking. I do remember having that issue but doing those steps resolved it.

Hey, I'm not too sure if that's possible given you've got a snapdragon, but I'd certainly ask to find out for sure in their thread here:

I use the Soldier ROM with NOX kernel. I don't know if is the best, but is better than the stock ROM.
Old thread but I am finally looking to root my S8 as it's getting really slow and battery is pretty ****ty. Thinking a lite rom combined with an optimised kernal is the way to go, problem is there is so many and I couldn't find this covered anywhere.
The phone is fine with Stock Pie and NX 29 kernel.
I won't back to custom roms. I used renovate ice, hades and Alexis roms, but all these 3 have awful photo quality.
Photos mean to be viewed even after 50 years, so they must be good.
That's why I prefer stock rom. Camera is such a great piece o hardware. Cheers

Yep, I'm disappointed too. Two things are changed for me.
1. I get again "hint" for the new assitant guesture on the corner of the screen every time I lift the phone or unlock.
2. I use Pixel3 and 4 wallpapers. Until the todays update the Wallpapers was not moving too much unless I swipe the screen. Now The wallpapers moving much more as I move the phone. The "Bird's-eye view Zion National Park" now moving in every direction. (maybe it was broken only for me as it was not moving with the Gyro sensor)

Thanks for letting us know the changes. I had weird issues at times with back gestures. It used to get hanged and i was unable to use the swipe to home gesture. Hope it is resolved but i really doubt so looking at the size of the update. I think we might get a good update on Christmas. That's my only hope

I'm using elemental kernel, November update isn't updating and I'm suddenly not able to flash a new kernel in the elemental app either.
Only changes I've made are installing a new battery.

You can check out the tons of AOD apps in the app store that done require root. I've had the most bug free experience with some app called AOD and edge lighting. It seems to work well. Definitely eats up the battery though.

Why does my gcam slow motion function run at about 20fps?

Title days it all, here are my specs
OnePlus 8 pro Android 11
Rom: crdroid 7.4 instantnoodlep
Gcam version:GCam 7.3.018 Urnyx05-v2.5
Config: nrG--Urnyx05-7.3.018-v2.0
On stock OnePlus rom the slowotion camera worked fantasticly, I happened to use it quite a lot. Since going to crdroid and using gcam I notice though I can set videos to film 144fps, as soon as I try to use the slow motion feature on gcam it will pause for a second and visibly drop frames while filming. Checking out the footage is even worse since, ya know, a 20 fps video slowed down is basically a slideshow. I've included an example and a matlog just in case, but does anyone have a workaround for this? I'd hate to go back to stock for something so arbitrary
Edit: literally won't let me upload the text file for some reason, so here's the logcat
GCam cannot do slow motion. One of the reasons the OOS camera getting ported to AOSP /Lineage type ROM's, amongst others

Check the OnePlus 8 unified forum, it's in the OnePlus 8 section.
Evo X I'd recommend.
It has the OOS camera with working slow motion and wide angle, plus Google photos provides unlimited back up for free at original resolution

Fire TV Cube (2nd Generation): FireOS 7.2.7.3 anyone updated his cube? can we now turn HDR off?

Can anyone who installed the FireOS 7.2.7.3 on his cube check if HDR can be turned off now ?

No, most of them have probably blocked the updates.
Not everyone wants the new firmware.
Most of them would never buy a cube... lol

I must confess I`m pretty happy with the firmware as it is... The only annoying bit on this version is that resolution keeps falling back to 1080p HDR because my TV doesn´t support 4k60 HDR... which is kind of stupid considering content FPS.
So, do you guys recommend blocking updates?

Man... I might be wrong, but I get the feeling that you have been using the Cube with HDR on all the time simply because you didn't took the time to configure adaptative on Display settings.
That would be pretty lame heh? I mean, to blame the firmware for this... and have the nerve to complain about views and stuff.

with all my respect to you and all members, adaptive wont fix the issue and you can google and see how many are complaining that even when you choose adaptive on HDR content it still display them badly.
I'm not that stupid to complain before trying all the options.
PLUS i didn't complain from adaptive or whatever , i complained that a lot of people viewed and now answer . MY question was if there is an OFF option nothing more, as simple as that.
