If you're on T Mobile use msm tool and go to 9.0.11 then use twrp and flash 9.0.12. If you don't have tmobile then just msm 9.0.12

if I unlock, flash recovery and re-install 6.x stock rom would this work with my android security/firmware level at 1st November 16?
How can I get back to normal from here?
From a very tired stressed out silly guy haha
Thanks!

Secuirty android version is 2016 november so just ideally would like to confirm if i try flashing 6.x it would work?
or do i need to work out how to downgrade the security version first?

Hi...
Flash twrp recovery, if u haven't, and take a nandroid backup.
When update to new version u can restore the backup from twrp.
But if u are already on oxygen OS and u update to the new version, apps and data will remain.

It's for non rooted users that backup appd data and storage. Not sure if works 100% but worth a try[emoji3]

You need to unlock your bootloader if you want to root and get the benefits.
If you want to upgrade from oos to oos, then download the latest oos rom from the website and go to settings > system update, tap the three dots on top right and select local upgrade( should be there, not sure about 3.0.1) then navigate to your downloaded rom and it will install, without needing to unlock bootloader and losing data.

I seen that Magisk was updated to version 15.0 so I was wondering if anyone had problems with it and how you updated from the previous version. Thank you.
I was getting reboots on v14.3 and v14.6 on Oreo Beta 2 but I have not gotten a single reboot since flashing v15.0 earlier today (been running for maybe 8 hours now.)

Just updated.
No issues yet. Safety net is okay.
I'm also using it with no problems. I rooted the phone using the intructions from Magisk to root the pixel phones and it worked great, no need to use twrp.
So far so good on 15.0
No reboots o Android auto for my 2 driving sessions. If I was on 14.3, would have happened already
My phone bootloop if i update from 14.5 (beta) to 15. Fortunately i had a backup and i restored boot partition through twrp...
No issues. Went straight from Stock, to Beta 1, updated via OTA to Beta 2. Then followed the instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/how-to/guide-rooting-essential-ph-1-magisk-t3701976

Its pretty stable and 100% better than Nougat. Do a factory reset always upgrading to Major Android versions...

You do have to download the official ROM from Xiaomi website, then use the Mi Flash tool to flash it.
Just download the rom from few topics here of the latest Nougat, backup your data, go to the MiFlash tool and flash the nougat rom, but remember, do not flash flash_factory.bat.

You have to flash the stock ROM of a older version of OxygenOS via flash_all_partions.bat, the easiest way. There is one for OxygenOS 9.0.6

Thank you! The first thread did the trick. I want to sell my OP6T (going back to the Pixel 2XL), but was running the latest Open Beta. I couldn't find a way to go back to stock, nothing seemed to work but this tool. Had to unlock the bootloader to do it, but now it's relocked and I'm rocking the stable again. Thanks again!
