Hi...
Flash twrp recovery, if u haven't, and take a nandroid backup.
When update to new version u can restore the backup from twrp.
But if u are already on oxygen OS and u update to the new version, apps and data will remain.

It's for non rooted users that backup appd data and storage. Not sure if works 100% but worth a try[emoji3]

You need to unlock your bootloader if you want to root and get the benefits.
If you want to upgrade from oos to oos, then download the latest oos rom from the website and go to settings > system update, tap the three dots on top right and select local upgrade( should be there, not sure about 3.0.1) then navigate to your downloaded rom and it will install, without needing to unlock bootloader and losing data.

I hve restored the TWRP 5.0.1 backup in my XT1033 Indian variant given by Xda member @deeplyyoung and it's working fine in my phone with dual Sim compatibility
So I hve decided to share it with u guys..
Download Link:-

Procedure:-
You need to extract this zip in the root of your SD, then replace my serial number with your phone's serial, otherwise TWRP won't find the backup! Then restore it with TWRP.

First boot will take time so be patient..
It will not upgrade ur bootloader so u can revert again to Kitkat(4.4) easily .

Well i read somewhere you need to change your device serial number for using this backup...can I again revert back on my old 4.4.4 backup after this ???

First i suggest you backup your 4.4.4 on TWRP so you can always revert to it easily.
Also there will be a folder of TWRP backup created on your internal storage. So all you need is just copy backup folder inside this zip into your TWRP backup folder. Same folder with your KK backup. Then boot into TWRP and restore it from there.
Don't forget to wipe your system and data before restoring. Gudluck

how can i change back the font to it's original font?
It's an untouched & fresh Lollipop 5.01 TWRP backup or it contains your own stuffs like changed fonts, system settings and apps?
You need to clarify this in the OP for who is looking to flash it on their XT1033 Asian variants.

You can restore this backup with CWM. I confirm this method work with philz touch recovery. On settings, check the TWRP method and un-check MD5 checksum

If you have stock recovery, then you must be already OTA-ing to lollipop right? Why don't you just do another OTA update to 5.0.1? there's another thread with shared zip to do that. This is for us who wants to preserve kk bootloader so we can easily revert back to 4.4.4. Well, at least for me.
And i don't think you can restore this backup with stock recovery, you need a custom one
After installation .. The OS is unable to see any content on my internal sd card???
What to do?
I have a question here. I've Brazilian Android Lollipop 5.0 , rooted and philz touch recovery installed on XT1033 Asian variant. Few days back someone shared 5.0.1 update. I wanted to upgrade to 5.0.1 but it requires Brazilian Android Lollipop 5.0 unrooted with stock recovery. So I skip updating that part. So the question is will this backup will upgrade my XT1033 Asian variant which have Brazilian Android Lollipop 5.0 , rooted and have philz touch recovery installed to toBrazilian Android Lollipop 5.0.1 without messing up anything?
It doesn't work on xt1032, if anyone was wondering. It stays on bootanimation.

Yes you can restore the backup you have made using TWRP and you will see the same setup and data of MM as you left it.
Flashing will make your device just as new like out of the box.

Yes by doing so you are downgrading the OS.
You didn't flashed the soak test, right? As you stated that you made a backup of MM so I think you flashed the CM14.1 from the MM. So if you didn't flashed the soak test then you're good to go without any issue.

I am also new to this device so not much sure but for a safe side you should downgrade by flashing stock firmware via adb. And as far as I read and watched the videos on youtube there is not any issue to downgrade to MM if you have unlocked bootloader.
As being an XDA user we always know the risks. Good luck.

My device ( one plus 2) takes more than 12hrs to charge fully.I use stock charging adapter and cable.I have checked using wall outlet, power bank and usb port ,but nothing seems to change.I'm using oxygen 3.5.6 ROM currently.I'm facing this problem since oxygen 3.0.2 ROM
Before I received OTA for 3.0.2 ,I was using beta version of oxygen to experience the marshmallow features.During beta ROM I didn't have these problems.
I'm sure that there is no prob with charger, cable or battery.I wanted to know whether the prob is with the ROM or kernel?
Yep... It's the ROM kernel.?

Well I assume u are not rooted and have twrp installed so the only best thing is to download and flash the OOS 3.5.6 zip through ur stock recovery. So check out this http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-2/oneplus_2_oxygenos_3.5.6/
Take backup before proceeding.

Just clean flash OOS rom followed by SuperSu or Magisk if you want root. Otherwise just flash the rom.

If you can get to recovery, you might be able to use the stock recovery to get to bootloader. In the roms section there is a guide thread which has a link for a version of twrp that is working (Chinese version) rather than the TWRP (WIP) thread. That Chinese version of TWRP is working. You can use that and up twrp backup above to try and get yourself up and running until a full rom zip comes out from OnePlus?
Or if you dont want to use my backup, maybe use twrp to format data and see if that gets you booting? IF not then my back up, but remember each time you come out of twrp and boot system you loose twrp

Glad I'm not the only one that makes silly mistakes like this
I hve the best lol, after recover system/boot, my data partition in the OS (not TWRP) was unwritable, so i have lock Bootloader for try recover Stock Recovery and do a factory reset.... Now Bootloop!
So for now i must wait for install emergency/factory OxygenOS from OnePlus when available because i can do nothing. I miss Odin from Samsung, so useful for flash recovery/rom
