Looks like xiaomi pushed it just for the sake of releasing before the year ends.

Its pretty stable and 100% better than Nougat. Do a factory reset always upgrading to Major Android versions...

You do have to download the official ROM from Xiaomi website, then use the Mi Flash tool to flash it.
Just download the rom from few topics here of the latest Nougat, backup your data, go to the MiFlash tool and flash the nougat rom, but remember, do not flash flash_factory.bat.

U can try to flash the original recovery form the official firmware.. If still you suffer the bootloop you have to completely flash the original stock rom
Try to backup your data from your current recovery if possible
Hope this helps

It's better and safer to flash factory images 6.0.1 !
For a smoother experience, flash 6.0.1 factory images from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/index-moto-g-factory-firmware-images-t3169639

Hi, is possible to install this update with the TWRP Recovery or using sideload? I Have a custom rom and it's very slow to comeback official firmware and then flash this. Sorry for my very bad english

Go back to stock firmware and stock recovery, update to .184 or newer first, then flash MM .134 firmware.

It's normal for stock firmware lol, not only Asus; Samsung has done the same thing too on some July updates (with August 1 security patch)

I expected more features . Besides there are still bugs .
Multiple window is much desired feature . The phone screen size is big and multiple screen would help do multiple task at the same time .

Hello there!
I come here with really important question.
I use the Android Nougat as a daily driver but I'd like to update system to the Oreo. Will I be able to go back to the Nougat if I flashed the Oreo's bootloader and modem?
Thanks in advance for answers!

Is there anything special that I need to do to downgrade from Pie back to Oreo?
I want to try a few Pie ROMs and if I don't find anything better than my current Oreo setup I would like to be able to rollback.

You should be aware that Pie twrp's require pie firmware and not Oreo firmware.
This means: use older recovery if you want to test pie and roll back to oreo without any problems.
If using Oreo TWRP, can I just flash 5.1.7 to downgrade from 9.0.1?

Yes., but a clean flash may be necessary if problems occur, so keep that in mind.

This makes no sense, how is someone suppose to use Pie with an older Oreo version of TWRP installed to the recovery?
With PIE installed you'll need the PIE firmware version of TWRP and can you really flash Oreo in the PIE TWRP to downgrade?
hmm

Post 2,3 and 4 gives you everything you need to know. You can simply downgrade but use an Oreo twrp since Oreo needs Oreo ready twrp. What are your concerns?
What about details of your device?
