Head Unit with (external) free on dashboard mountable Touchscreen Display - Android Head-Units

Hello,
my Passat 3BG has only a 2DIN-Navigation and it is mounted very low in the dashboard.
So i want a Android Head Unit with an external Touchscreen or integrated in a free mountable touchscreen to mount it on top of the dashboard.
At now i only found android head units for Mazda like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10-...ed-41ef-83e9-c8ae1e47bbfc&transAbTest=ae803_4
Maybe i can remove the touchscreen-unit here and mount it on my dashboard, but a directly solution would be better.
I hope you understand, what I mean. Thank you.

Joying has several models from 6" to 10" where the screen is like a tablet connected to the main unit with a ribbon cable: https://www.joyingauto.com/android-car-stereo/1-din-android-car-stereo/4gb-car-stereo.html

Android Unit for Ford Kuga

Hi all,
I am looking for some advice on a suitable head unit for a 2010 Ford Kuga.
I'm particularly interested in the Joying unit as they receive good reviews from this site.
However, although Joying advertise a unit for a 2008-2012 Kuga, the picture of the one that matches the dash I have, has a cross over it, indicating it in fact is not suitable.
I've tried emailing Joying but no luck with a reply.
Any advice suggesting alternatives would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
As an update, I've been doing a lot of research and nearly all Headunits (Joying, etc) state that if the Headunit had factory fitted SatNav, these replacement Android Headunits will not work... Can anyone explain why this is? Surely it's not different to replacing the standard Headunit, it's only the workings of the Headunit that contain the SatNav and that will be removed when the new unit is installed?
I have a 2013 Ford C-Max, which has a very similar, if not the same dash as the Escape/Kuga. I also have the factory nav but ordered an aftermarket Android device to see if it would fit. After playing with it for a while and doing some research, I found the head unit vendors based their brackets on the plain stereo which has a slightly different mounting mechanism.
If you're able to obtain a non satnav radio, you might be able to remove parts off it and use with an aftermarket head unit.
If it's just the mounts that are different, you should be able to make something if you have some basic tools handy. I have a '05 Ford Expedition where there's a special bracket on the radio to mount it with screws on the bottom, and a sliding bracket in the back. No screw holes would fit, and the aftermarket mounting kit I had bought wasn't usable due to the difference in size. What I did was to strap the head unit to the original bracket with heavy duty zip ties, and install the sliding bracket in the back. That way it basically mounted the same way as the factory unit, and I used pieces from the mounting kit to cover the gap around it. It's in there solid, and doesn't budge so you might see if you can do something like that as well.

Single Din Android for an R129 SL

Hello
I have a 1991 R129 500SL that has a single din radio slot, so I'm looking for a single din android unit, 2 Din isn't possible in this car without lots of cutting and modifications, which is something I'm not willing to venture into.
I'm looking for a single din android unit with preferably the latest possible OS, iPod control or the ability to connect to a 2.5 external HDD. iPod control is very important to me as my entire music library is on my iPod classic. My second option would be to connect an external hard disk to the unit.
I would like to have a unit that has most of the slots on the rear end with a clean front interface with the option to change button colors to match my ambient lighting.
I've trying to some pictures of my current setup and what my center console looks like, doesn't seem to be an option to post pictures from my phone.
Anyways, any help is really appreciated guys.
Thank you
No one has an idea about single din android units that can control an iPod classic?
Any aftermarket apps perhaps to make this work?

Probably your bet bet is something like this.
There's about 0 market for Single-DIN android, the entire market is double-DIN now.
As for that unit there, it isn't android but the Pioneer units are decent. I've used 2 of them in the past, but double-DIN.
Personally, I have no interest in the motorized fold-out screens. So here's a Joying Sofia unit which is single-Din mount, but with a double-DIN screen.

I hope your vents aren't in the way!
Thanks for your reply.
I did buy the Pioneer 7800BT unit but I returned it the next day, as it tends to stall quite often when playing songs from my iPod and takes a long time to switch between tracks.
Also the Appradio mode is very impracticable, I need to keep my phone connected via usb which means no iPod. Also I need to install a specific Pioneer keyboard on my S7 edge otherwise the keyboard won't show up on the head unit for any input. This means I have to keep switching keyboards in my phone whenever I enter or exit the car. Also you can't really use google maps or anything like that as Appradio One is not true mirroring, I can only see a map with no nav options or turn by turn guidance.
You can use waze but there is a problem with the screen formatting, a lot of prompts are off-screen. It's not properly configured for this head unit.
All in all, it was a very poor effort by Pioneer so I returned it. I saw the joying units but they won't fit my console as you can see from the pics below, and they don't support iPod, and neither do Pumpkin head units.

External microphone for head unit from Aliexpress (A7 1.3GHz, Mali-400, Android 8.1)

edit: I had to replace links with search terms
Hi,
one year ago I bought and installed this android head unit from aliexpress for my Suzuki Liana:
Android system 2.5D 9 Inch car multimedia player for Suzuki LIANA 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010-2013 car radio vehicle gps navigation
Some stats: Android 8.1, CPU: A7 1.3GHz, GPU: Mali-400, RAM 1GB, ROM 16GB, Radio Chip: NXP 6851, Amplifier: AC 7315 4*45W
Everything (even including they steering wheel buttons) works fine only the internal microphone is virtually useless. I read that some head units have really cheap and weird cable-ling going through the Bluetooth module. It also just be the cars vibrations transmitted in the head unit casing. Anyhow, the microphone as it is, and thereby any google assistant functions, are non functional. Unfortunately the head unit does not have any jack for an external microphone.
I saw that several people redo the wiring and solder an external microphone in the head unit. I would like to avoid this, since I am not that familiar with electronics and I am not keen on disassembling my dashboard (again).
I read that some people with similar problems connected a external USB sound card to their radio to get around this. I bought an external card and a microphone on amazon (Sabrent USB External Soundcard and augustcoco Microphone 3.5 mm External Microphone). I tried it on both USB ports of the head unit but nothing changed.
I have 2 questions:
1) Does anyone has an idea to make an external microphone on this head unit work?
2) If the USB soundcard would work, can I only use its input (microphone) and keep the output sound from the head unit? I do not want to change the output, since I can not reroute it back from the soundcard to the head unit.
Thank you for your support!

BMW e87 with Junsun 8259 8gb no car info...

So this is my problem:
Car: BMW 2005 e87 with original Flap screen working
1. I connected my Junsun Android 11 8259 8GB RAM 128GB storage to my car (I think I managed to get everything done right...). The Junsun headunit works very good, but there is no Car Info.
2. I coded my car with NCS Expert and NCS Dummy (FLAP nicht_aktiv) - triple checking everything, but still nothing in the Car Info app...
3. Today I decided to reconnect old Flap screen....but I don't get anything on that either...NOTHING...
4. Again, I decoded the ECU (FLAP aktiv), I triple checked everything...but nothing is displaying on the Flap screen...and can't get it to display on the Junsun Headunit either...
I just don't have any more ideas....
Whatever you think...I am willing to discuss it.
