yes - there is already some development in the S10 threads for compatible mods for our phone ...as twrp is updated and installation simplified, there will be even more development.
I have the international version and find that I have been getting software/firmware updates much sooner than they come through the US carriers.

I got the G9750 because I didnt want the Exynos - Exynos is the only option in Australia. TBH I love the SD855 version. Its awesomly quick and battery life thats brilliant. I don't think you would get this version of the phone if you want to mod.

I am based in the USA, using the international S10+ on T-Mobile. I bought it from Clove Technology in the UK (very good service). It was for the same price as the USA model at the time (pre-order time-frame). My phone was delivered in NY the same day the phone was publicly released in the USA.

I'm not really up on the specifics, but from what I understand the international version lacks some of the LTE bands used by some carriers in North America. Also, some carriers apparently disallow volte and wifi calling under certain circumstances for foreign esn's.
Worth exploring further if you're buying from overseas and those kinds of things matter to you.
Yes, it's worth it. Rooting makes the phone better. You get better audio with viper4android, custom roms and customization. You get more control of your $1k phone

Not sure if it depends on the phone, but I'm using Google Pay and Samsung Pay (through my Samsung watch) on my rooted Pixel 3Xl. I'm able to do this by hiding root in Magisk.

This depends on your coverage. I did do a side by side test with a T-Mobile 6t, and my international S10. We were getting similar speeds side by side.
The fastest I've gotten is 110 Mbps. Which is similar to the LTE on my previous devices. Even with CA on a 6t, you get the same or similar speeds. The only difference right now for me, was my service on a call while driving. I had a little connectivity issue while on a call recently ( just breaking up here and there).
Also, it may depend on your CSC if you have Carrier Aggregation for certain bands enabled. My XSA does not.

If #benchmarklife is your thing, then each to their own, thats cool. I like to game and the Exynos game lag experience is real. Plus the Qualcomm 4G/wifi modems are the best in industry.
I also disagree on battery life, I've done a side by side comparisson with the Exynos and SD855 - using them the way I use a phone and my SOT was around 6hrs for the SD855 and under 5 for the Exynos. I would love to see your battery stats getting 8-9 hrs SOT, because, cough, it seems, cough, a little bull**** to be honest.. :laugh:

Yep. LG and Samsung are doing "Prime" versions for the CAT6 support that Korea got. I don't see why they would release it for the rest of the world or if they do, it will take a while.

Are there even any LTE Cat 6 networks deployed in Europe/US? I've mostly heard of testing going on in Europe and with deployment dates in 2015. Doesn't seem worth it for LG to sell the Prime version here, if the main selling point of the phone can't even be properly used yet.

Hard to say, according to the pocketnow comparison with the s5 and s5 lte-a, battery life is the same, however that's an 805 with qhd screen.

For now. The 805 is a better fit for Qhd, so makes sense we will see a variant later this year. LG will have no choice not to, since Samsung will have a Note 4 and S5 update with Qhd and the 805.
An executive from LG that was in Greece already stated there will be models later this year outside of Korea, but Korea is the focus for now. That is business speak for Yes, there will be an 805 model.

I am currently using the S6 and I hate this damn piece of S*** because the phone reception and call quality is conclusively terrible compared to other devices that are using the Snapdragon Processor Variant.
Don't tell me it's not true because I have tested it. RECEPTION WITH EXYNOS PRROCESSORS IS TERRIBLE - PERIOD.
I want the Snapdragon and I am really hoping it will be available in Europe. What if it isn't? can I still by the Snapdragon and will it work on the LTE bands in Europe? Any known disadvantages?
I'd love to hear your words.

That is indeed sad but what's even more sad ais that the Exynos Variant sucks even more with cellphone reception. I had the Nexus 6P Snapdragon 810 for a few days and MAN you won't believe how much stronger the reception was.
There is no doubt at all that the Exynos variant has a significantly worse LTE Radio and for that I will simply buy the G5 after 8 YEARS OF SAMSUNG ONLY.
It's enough suffering with this crap reception, dropped and missed calls! Worthless Samsung - FAIL

But development of what? The exynos will have plenty of roms being made for it, except they'll most likely be based on the stock touchwiz rom. If you want aosp then you'll want the snapdragon version. But the s6 currently has an aosp being developed for it, so that will most likely be available on the s7 too in the future.

That LTE modem on the Exynos 8890 isn't that bad (hell it's actually not bad at all). Granted the SD820's baseband is better than it's competition, but the Exynos 8890's baseband is nothing to cry about.
Keep in mind that this is not the Exynos 7420 SOC used in the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge phones.

You might want to check which model this actually is prior to purchasing. Global version G395F does not have Snapdragon meaning they're likely selling an Overpriced G395T.

Thanks, that's good news. Where did you get that information. I'm okay with the Exynos processor as it is but I know that the lte modem on the s6 is terrible. What's the best way to find out how the reception of the Exynos variant stacks up against the snapdragon variant ?

Im in a little dilemma, I purchased the S7 G935T and it is coming in tomorrow. So I've been reading a lot about the phone and the known stuff about the bootloader and what not. So should I just return it(Costing $800+) and get the international version (G935F costing $700 on ebay)? I know Samsung Pay will not work and I really don't care about that that much. I mean it's something cool but not a die for feature. I really want the video calling feature that tmobile offer on these higher smartphones though. Are there any other features that the tmobile version might have over the international version? I tried to look but couldn't find much. If I get the international version, that means I can root the phone install custom roms and have less to no bloatwares. Let me know what are the Pros/Cons of getting the international version. Thanks
I struggled with this too, but ultimately it came down to needing Band 12 compatibility. Won't get that with international variant.

B12 is basically a lower frequency signal so it penetrates buildings better. It also allows you to have LTE available while on a call.
Can't comment on the heat as I just my S7E this afternoon. It did get warm during initial setup, but every phone does ...

In the event your Galaxy S7 pre-order has been delayed, you can just cancel that sucker. As with the S7 Edge, the regular Galaxy S7 has appeared on eBay in its unlocked form. For $599.99, you can get the SM-G930F with support for most GSM/LTE networks. That's about $100 cheaper than the full price GS7 on US carriers.
Importantly, this is an international phone. That means it has an Exynos 8 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 820 in US models. The LTE bands should be great, though. It even has band 12 for T-Mobile. 3G is missing Tmo's band 4, but you'll be fine on HSPA+ data in areas where T-Mobile runs 1900MHz."

Interesting ... I wonder if Band 12 will actually work though. I had the Moto X Pure Edition that had to wait for T-mobile to certify (or something) the device before B12 would work. Seeing how that one would likely have different model numbers than those T-mobile sells, band 12 may not work out of the box.

Man so little information, I CAN'T DECIDE!!!!! lol. Need more digging because if I get the ebay one then I won't open the tmobile that will be arriving tomorrow since they say the refund should be faster if it's unopened, or else it takes 2 business cycle = 60days for the refund.
I'm on the fence as well. I know I can add VoLTE with my own modifications. I'd also like to port the video calling in dialer. WiFi calling would be nice also but isn't a deal breaker for me. Band 12 is on all variants I believe but is just disabled. Since the international is modifiable, I'd assume there is a way to enable it.

Read from c#23 onward, it seems to work but not VoLTE, wifi calling, and samsung pay. Im still digging to see if it's worth it to get the international version.

There are at least 2 variants of band 12, 3 if I'm not mistaken. Does t TMob use 12b? And does t the int'l version use band 12a and 12c?
There is a possible alternative to 935F.
That is the Chinese released 9350, which is a snapdragon like the TMo, and it might be possible to flash TMo firmware on it after unlocking the bootloader (don't know if this would work or if that would re-lock the bootloader ). Hoping someone with the appropriate skill set would comment on this or even give it a try.
Believe these are available on eBay also.

That's what I would recommend. I have been rooting/tinkering for years and although I've had this phone a very short time, aside from ad blocking I honestly see no need to root this phone.
Of course that's subject to change in a matter of weeks, days or months LOL

Just because it has band 12 out of the box, I'm not so sure it means that it'll be supported by T-Mobile. Again, I use the Moto X Pure Edition as an example, Motorola said that the device would support band 12, but it wasn't until the device went through T-Mobile's certication process and an OTA update that we saw Band 12 on the X. (And even still it's not working right - if VoLTE is enabled phones calls are choppy)
Like I said earlier, I am by no means an expert and can very likely be wrong (Heck I actually hope I'm wrong!)

So from all the digging/comments here all I see is that VoLTE, Wifi Calling, and Samsung pay will not work on the S7 Edge G935F (International Version) and G935W8 (Canadian Version, a little more compatible with US Tmobile). I think this is fine with me because I am using the 5S right now and don't ever have a need for those. But we will see, I am still digging to see if all that are worth it over the Exynos. Which again, I don't have right now so I don't see why just get the Exynos
So just an update, I purchased a S7 Edge g935f. I am using it on Tmobile and also just rooted it. Anyone needs to know anything just give it a shout.
Keep us posted as to the coverage your getting... Also, can you download LTE Discovery and see if you ever get Band 12.

The SM-G935F is the international version with an Exynos processor and it has an unlocked bootloader and can be rooted very easily.
The SM-G935U is the unlocked Snapdragon version available for the USA. It has a locked bootloader but root has been established for it.
If you care about performance there are Pro's and Con's to each device. I suggest doing some research about the real world performance and feel from the users in the Galaxy S7 Edge forums and see what everyone is talking about.
I'd I was making the choice I would buy the SM-G935F Exynos version. I will not buy another device with a bootloader that cannot be unlocked. That's why I am a Nexus user. Good luck on choosing a device if you are shopping for one.

I am finding the US 935U model is better on battery but once you root it battery life does take a hit. Otherwise,it is very fast without any carrier or Samsung bloat. So if you are looking for specific carrier apps you won't have it on the 935U model.

No updates yet for the 935U either. Still running the May security update.
Thank you guys for all your answers. Seems that is better idea to get the 935F . The performance and the battery are better not to mention the root capability and Custom Roms. The only thing is the warranty in the US, witch is in favor to the 935U.
You also won't have VoLTE/HD calling/Wifi calling with the F. Not sure if you care about those things or not, but something to think about.
I bought the F from b and h photography. One year warranty. Plus you can buy an extended warranty as well for drops and screens. I'm happy and secure with my purchase. Exynos, running basicplus rom, averaging 6 SOT, runs cool. No wifi calling and other little tmobile incentives I'm not missing.

Exynos is more efficient for everyday use.

Evening all,
I've been trying to find out which processor the UK version of the S8 will come with. I've read on a number of sites that it will be the Exynos 8895 but on a few others have confirmed it's the snapdragon?
Anyone know for sure?

Because 95% of their customers don't know (or care) what a processor is. "Eight core" is used because it's higher than four or two so prospective purchasers will perceive it as "better" therefore making the phone worth $800+.
UK get the SM-G950F model only, that has the Exynos.
