Hello everyone! I really am worried about recovery (exynos). I used wipe cache partition, is that under warranty? I also want to do hard reset because I got some stutter problems. Is it safe? Thanks from now.

If you have never rooted or flashed a custon recovery. You are good. You can do whatever you want from stock recovery and that does not affect warranty. If your ever worried. Look in download mode. 0x0 mean good. 0x1 means you have voided. But as long as you stay in stock recovery and not unlock the bootloader your gold

guys,
My I9505 has a hardware problem: the VOL DOWN is unresponsive.
That's a nasty problem, because rebooting the phone gives a lot of problems (warnings about a custom rom, and then nothing works anymore)
So I'd like to return it, but have to restore the phone for warranty.
I managed to flash latest stock MH8.
Here are my questions:
1. before, I've flashed autoroot - does that make the flashcounter go up?
2. before, I've flashed philz recovery - does that make the flashcounter go up?
3. I've flashed the new stock firmware, but still see a clockworkmod folder. can I safely remove that?
4. are there other folders I've to remove to NOT void my warranty?
5. is it necessary/safe to use triangle away on MH8 with the new bootloader?
thanks for any insights!

Be VERY VERY careful if you're running the new knox firmware that you don't trip the eFuse and change KNOX Warranty void status.
If you have flashed stock firmware MH8 in Odin I would simply do a factory reset in the STOCK recovery and wipe everything that way and send to repair centre.
Do not flash ANYTHING custom or otherwise, even older Stock firmware in Odin.
If you do you will trip the eFuse, your KNOX warranty status will change and you'll be f***ed mate.

Thanks, that's very good advice. will keep it in mind.
Do you know the answer to my questions about the flashcounter going up by flashing recoveries in stead of custom roms?
thanks,

Hi, I would like to ask you guys if the device can be unroot after it has been rooted with Towelroot?
I heard many people said about using SuperSU to remove the root.
However, I am not sure if the unroot process is safe and be able to give me a full warranty back.
Thank you.

I've unrooted my s5 before and it wasn't hard. Just flash an unroot pda with Odin. Saves all your data. But I think it will trip the Knox counter, so It'll void your warranty. So I'm not 100% sure if you'll be able to keep your warranty

Dude, what advice is this? :crying: Flash an unroot PDA? What do you mean with that?. Just unroot from within the superSU app, flash a stock rom and do a data factory reset. Takes about 5-7 minutes if done correctly.

Flash an unroot tar file. That's what I was told. I did it and it worked fine. No more root. But you can unroot with supersu?? I never knew that

I have tried the method and everything works.
My device is now unrooted.
No KNOX trip after flash stock rom with odin.
The device status is official too.
Thanks!
Still a bit confused
Confused is my normal state...
In Super User the only options I have are for OTA survival and for temp unroot.
To unroot would I only need to select the temp unroot option then go into the S5's settings and do a factory reset (under the backup/restore selections) or would I temp unroot with superuser, then go into Odin (on my pc) and flash a factory rom?
With the Odin option of doing this,if it is necessary, where can I get the factory rom for Version's S5 for this process?
I just unrooted using SuperSu's full unroot option and wiped cache from the stock recovery and boom. Worked for me.

Thanks klacenas, Where/how did you wipe the cache "from the stock recovery"? Also as an aside... did this cause you to lose any apps or files (photos, music, txt files type stuff) when you did the unrooting?
Sorry to be a pain.

By Unrooting only, you will not lost any of your personal data that stored on your phone. However when you do factory reset, your personal data that stored on the phone will be lost.

Try a data factory reset and flash the rom again, that should help.

Don`t realy understand why the status is custom when you unrooted from within the superSU app and did a factory reset after that
Hi, i have note 3 sm n9005 or something and rooted my phone for some stupid reason, its still on stock the only thing that i think happened was i have supersu, i paniced and factory reset, now supersu has a error thing with something to do with binary settings or something. All i want to do it fully reset my phone, if its any help im british with EE... does flashing supersu trip knox counter? Am i actually rooted for if i were to flash stock? Will that trip it? Iv knly had phone few months and im scared... if i flash stock can i then update legally coz i cant update because the device is modified? I used odin... can someone help please, i know nothing and yes, i should look into what im doing more before hand. Can you explain everything and what to do please? Every little thing, please and without tripping knox and as if it was out the box new. Please
Firstly, flashing SuperSU trips KNOX. In the first place, to install SuperSU you need a custom recovery which would ALSO trip KNOX. Flashing back to stock unroots your phone too.
If you are convinced that you have not tripped KNOX, just re flash your phone back to stock with ODIN.

Flashing stock will get rid of SuperSU and root but you cannot reset KNOX. It is permanently 0x1 and will always be.

What about the fact i factory reset? Is it still rooted to flash stock? And doesnt it have to be a unrooted stocked rather than flashing rooted stock? And where do i got stock and do i need to unzip files and stuff?

Reboot in download mode I. E. Volume down+home+power, check the knox counter if it's 0x1 then it has already been tripped and you have been set free ?? and if it's 0x0 you are still locked in a cage.
Report back with what you see.

Yes, if your Knox is still 0x0, flashing stock keeps it 0x0.
Use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app to check for the Knox Warranty Void status (in the GENERAL INFO section).
Is it possible or is warranty forever void?

I think it won't because once rooted you will trip Knox and can't make it return to stock.

I have a feeling because Knox counter is tripped, it is failing to encrypt, Use Odin and flash device back to factory condition. I have a feeling the Knox being tripped is your issue here.
