Its only for the Galaxy Nexus version of ICS. If you want the APK, Tell me. I have access to a Rooted Gnexus. I've tried it on the Regular GB - Note. With that Black banding issue on the NOTE, It looks ugly as hell.
Or use CyanogenMod 9.
.... And what about panorama camera ?
arg... how come it's not there either !!!!
Stock File from the GNexus. Give it a try ;-)

hey bros, does enyone knows how to make google camera work on custom roms?
usually it just works on most custom roms... have you tried just flashing it with a gaps package that includes it? that should work. but then again, I've never had an issue with it when I installed it from the playstore either. it should work with no issues. Did you check to make sure all the correct permissions are set for it? if permissions aren't correct it will force close
Having the same issue on RR official. App requests permissions, once you have given them it crashes and crashes again whenever you load it up.
Google camera have some issue it just won't work for op2 be it any nougat rom

The solution is in the post above yours. Stop seeking...
As another user said before, this one should work:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...era-4-1-006-126161292-2-android-apk-download/
okey, so 4.1 version works indeed, but why newer versions don't work?
i would recommend you to flash STOCK GAPPS along with Any ROM which will replace the default camera application in the ROM to the Google Camera one which you can update later from the Play store itself

Latest Google Camera versions do not work because they require camera HAL3:
https://source.android.com/devices/camera/camera3.html
Seems like no one has so far managed to get HAL3 working properly on custom OP2 Nougat roms. Devs have tried to enable HAL3 multiple times on OP2 roms, but have always reverted back to HAL1. In case of HAL3, the photos in portrait orientation are scrambled, and some apps have focusing issues. The most important benefit of HAL3 is the support of capturing RAW images. Other benefits include better photo sphere support, etc.
Latest HAL3 enabled rom release I know of is RR 5.8.2 from 25.02:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862705912
On that one the latest Google Camera 4.3 works, but portrait orientation pictures are messed up. Also RAW image colors are screwed up in OP Cam app.
I hope that the HAL3 issues are fixed after/if Oneplus releases Nougat for OP2, as currently it seems like it is either too difficult for devs to fix it or even impossible.

Since OOS3.5.8 sources has been released and OP2 has HAL3 support for quite a long time, do you think some of the custom nougat roms could take this advantage to enable HAL3 supporting? And have you heard anything about it? I want to switch to custom nougat rom but camera functions always make me go back to OOS.

Flash october update using miflash
Root again using CF-ROOT
Done
It seems since the October update we don't need that line in prop, it works by default even without root, at least on my device

So you're saying it works without root?
Which port are you using? Is it this one? v.1.4_v3: MGCB_7.0H_C2API_Full_PXL2_v.1.4_60FPS_noburst_v3 (ivanich, 2017-08-27) (stable, no config needed)

For me, stock camera doesn't work consistently anymore even with HDR off. It seems to work in normal lighting situation but not in low light situation where I get the error explained in initial post (very strange).
Same here.
HDR mode is not working on Mi Camera app , says "Camera error - can't connect to camera" everything else works.

? Can I ask to the developers why should camera centric smartphone loss his efficient points only for better performance...I personally begging to the developers to build a ROM...with a similar camera specified app like the stock ROM has...cause anyhow we r getting a better performance benchmarks through the custom ROM but those lacking the camera performance....Im also a big fan of these ROM tried every ROM in this forum..every ROM is brilliant at his won base..with some modes we r getting near about the stock camera performance but why not the better or same............:??
Try Gcam ported, it performs even better than stock camera. As for camera app, I believe it involves complex algorhytm so it's kinda hard for devs to build a flawless camera app.

Download lucky patcher, and then install the pixelmaster camera APK that you can find in apkmirror. It is, what I believe, the best solution.

You should use the Pixelmaster camera that's posted on the LOS thread. Courtesy of @planet9.

DoF works but not as an effect. If you try to take a picture focusing on the nearer object, the object further away will be out of focus.
Manual mode also works flawlessly.
Some effects (post processing) won't work correctly... they won't be missed.
The phone won't take the picture zoomed in, but since it's a fake zoom (not optical), you can crop the picture to whatever detail you want to focus.

First, check you have a rooted device. If you do, install lucky patcher (Here. The download is in a Zip file, you need to decompress it). Then, download the OG camera app, from here , or install the newer, Zenfone 4 version from here. Then, open luckypatcher and hit the button that says "Rebuild and Install". That will show you a file explorer. In it, search for the previously downloaded apk. When you find it, touch it. It will show you a menu, in it touch the option that says "Install as system app". Wait untill it's done, hit restart now and whe it boots up, you will have the Asus OG camera.
Remember that you need to repeat this prosses every time you flash an update or another ROM.
